If I have to define harassment then I would say HomePro is the synonym for the same. The Customer Service Representative confirmed a NO CONTRACT PLAN on the call and then when I requested to opt out after 2 months i was flabbergasted to hear that I was into a 5 years contract and if I need to get out then I need to pay the full amount. SAD. In United States of America all Customer Service calls are recorded; I asked HomePro team to check that I did confirm for a non contract plan but no response from them. They are just interested to get monthly money from my account and security is a HOAX. The security system installed at my home was OFF for 69 days and no one from the security company bothered to check. but when I did not pay my monthly bill then they called and frightened me that they they give my details to COLLECTIONS company and it will impact my credit. Whatever you do, do not fall victim to this scandalous company. They are a fraud. We have been loyal customers for 3 years now. I called on Friday to cancel service. I was told that we were in a 3 year contract which AUTO renewed back in March. There was no notice sent to us about this. They say you may "cancel anytime", yet you must pay out the contract in order to do so. Since they AUTO renewed without our permission, they are now forcing us to buy out the remainder of the contract (a contract we DID NOT agree to). I filed a complaint with BBB, only to receive a call from Kedrick (the rep who keeps commenting responses to each negative review), who offered to only buy out 1/2 of the remaining contract. I refuse to accept this due to the fact they have been charging me for something I did not agree to and gave me no notice of this. This is FRAUD on many levels and I can only imagine how many customers they have done this to/are currently scamming. Do yourself a favor, and sign up elsewhere. I've had homepro for three homes in the past two years. Every single time there have been installation errors. My last house be charged for six months for an outdoor camera that was never installed. It took conversing with very rude "customer service" reps for weeks to get a resolution. Transferring to my new home I made it very clear what devices I wanted. The sales representative (Kiki) said I could finance, pay up front or add the cost to the bill. I agreed to financing, which was a mistake. The first application through this third party failed in which I had to fill it out again. After informing the sales rep it did not work both times, he then had me fill out a third time, in which it came back declined. My credit not being an issue at all, their system hit my credit with three low impact hits. The sales rep gave me the option to add it to my bill or pay for it up front, I agreed to do either. When the tech came for installation there was no camera installs on his work order, whatsoever. When I called the sales rep in which blamed the technician. I then called to voice a complaint and was directed to a supervisor in the sales department. He was condescending and out right rude. Not addressing the issue, which is having cameras installed, he began aggressively trying to point the blame at me. I somehow hope the incompetence of your sales team and lack of professionalism doesn't represent your company as a whole. read more

Honestly I am not that impressed. In HomePro's defense, it could be an operator error, but there are times when the system times out, during videos, not showing what the end of what anyone's doing is. Other issues include when the doorbell is ring, it fails to connect to see who it is. There is also a delay before the recorded video is available. This usually means the person has left before you know who it was. The 5 year contract is difficult to swallow. I would have probably dropped the service, but it was too late. They only give you three days to drop the service and the costs of dropping the service, after that time frame, are basically the entire contract paid in full, according to the contract you sign. Unfortunately, you do not get a true trial experience, prior to buying. (Plus you have to purchase the equipment prior to install, whether financed or paid in full). I do not recommend this service at all. If you don't believe me, look at other reviews. Don't make the mistake we made, find a service that offers a trial service or at least cheaper. Don't be stuck paying 50 bucks a month for the next 5 years. 3k after 3 days!!!!! read more

I am only using them because of the community that I live in and we are forced to have services with them. I wish union Park will get out of this contract. The customer service teams lack knowledge and they do not listen very well. The techs that come to service our issues never fix the problem because it is not their area of expertise. Why make a service call and state what you want and then send the wrong tech out. They tell you that they will put in a work ticket for the correct tech to come out but they don't follow through with it. Homepro installed the wired door sensors part of the building construction. The same is integrated to the security system they offered. It is not working after few months as expected. I am being billed every month for the security system, and asking additional service charge for a technician to come and check. I see in many of the other negative reviews on Yelp that someone from the company replies and urges customers with problems to contact a supervisor. I began having an issue with my home vac system back in August and reached out to HomePro. They sent someone out in September. We were told that we would get a replacement hose when the part became available. It is now a few days shy of February and we have yet to receive a new hose. I called again and another tech was sent out, but this one was sent out to look at the HOST, and not the hose, so still no new hose. He tells me we are now out of warranty, which ended in October, and will have to pay over $500 for a new hose. I told him that we were well within warranty when we initially reported the issue and we want our new hose. He gave me his supervisor's, Brent, number and told me to call him. I spoke with him and he has been "looking" for a hose for weeks now, while also avoiding my calls. Save yourselves the hassle and just buy a vacuum cleaner. HomePro needs to do better in the customer service department because this is not it. read more

NOT A TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY!! I would not recommend this company. My nightmare started when after 19 months into my contract I realized they were charging me for a service they didn't provide, that is video monitoring. When I reached out to them for clarification on it and also to understand how this could be fixed, they didn't provide me with any resolution instead I was told their manager will call back but I never received any call back as they promised. So I kept calling back. This went on for 3 days without any resolution . Finally on the end of third day, I was able to call their office and reach their manager on the phone. She also was not very helpful immediately but later she agreed to remove video monitoring from my account and bring down the service charge by $5.00 for the remainder of my contract. I specifically confirmed that they will not change contract period or any thing else other than taking off video monitoring charges which they never provided. Even though I felt they should have refunded me for the 19 months they charged for video monitoring; I was willing to let go off that to put this issue to rest. And I was reassured that nothing else but the rates for the remainder of the contract period will change. But the revised contract that was sent out was not just revised for the rate but the contract period itself was extended by another year. To give her the benefit of doubt, I initially thought it was an error so I immediately wrote back there is an error. But since then I have sent multiple email and calls to follow up but haven't heard back from the manager or her team with a corrected contract . Right now I do not trust this company. Had I not read the contract they would have trapped me into another year of their service. If I can't trust the company for such matters how can I trust them with the security of my house and property. And after going through such humiliation and trauma , I will never recommend them to anyone I know!!! read more

We built a Darling home in 2016 and had no choice but to use HomePro for sound, internet and alarm wiring. Will spare the details of the sales process but focus instead on the fact that we built a communicator for our alarm system that was to be a one time fee. Fast forward 2.5 years and HomePro now says there was to be a monthly fee on top of the communicator charge. After balking they delayed 6 months canceling our alarm communicator service, unless we pay a monthly charge, and the new communication says the initial fee was only to include one year of services. Flat our liars and dishonest business. I'd guess they only survive off their home builder contracts as their reviews are painfully honest and suggest anyone considering steer well clear of using HomePreo. read more

Shortly before we moved from our old residence an agent of Home Pro came to our door stating they needed to do an upgrade from 3G to 5G and asked someone other than me, the account owner, to sign paperwork just to allow Home Pro to come in and do the work. Under the guise of you have to sign this paper to let us in to do this work, Home Pro slipped in a five year, No cancellation contract in the paperwork without mentioning it to the person who signed it, This is known in the legal field as FRAUD!! A contract is not a valid contract if there are significant clauses or stipulations in the contract that are not fully explained verbally to the signer. Also a contract is not a contract unless both parties receive something of value. I am receiving no services from them. This is outright larceny! For all other people who have been defrauded by Kerndrick and Home Pro, please be nice to your new neighbors and warn them of Home Pro's illegal and shady practices. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare from start to finish, which by the way isn't finished. The workmanship was shoddy, the alarm didn't work correctly for a year and they tried to charge me for the repairs for their mistakes. They sign you into a 5 yr contract and if you move they charge you a disconnection fee of $195 or you pay the entire yearly contract for the 5 yrs. We moved after 3 yrs and for the last 6 months have been receiving overdue notices even tho we sent the cancellation form and they cashed the check immediately . Since then I've called every month and been told they couldn't find the cancellation notice and again I send it to them. This is the worst company that I've every dealt with in 48 yrs of running our own business!!!!! No stars from me... HomePro was the contractor who did the low voltage wiring (security, home theater, speakers) in my new home. They were the only option available. The wires were run correctly but I was disappointed that the home theater runs didn't include anything but literally running the wires and mounting the boxes. The boxes were finished with blank plates and none of the wire ends were finished out. As a basic wiring package, I suppose that would have been OK but for the price (noting it was installation in a house under construction so extremely easy wire runs) it was extremely disappointing. Regarding service, I was having some performance issues with my network cabling so I called HomePro to schedule a service call. They couldn't schedule a service call until approximately 2 weeks out which seemed excessive but I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Two days prior to that scheduled call, HomePro called and said they would have to reschedule out another week due to a sick technician (this would have been 3 weeks since my initial call). I was frustrated and requested a manager. That is when I spoke with Kedrick Gilstrap, one of their customer experience supervisors. Kedrick understood my frustration and was able to get a technician out the next day. The technician was very friendly and knowledgeable and he was able to resolve my issue. Although the process was a little frustrating, it was good to see HomePro step up when I needed them. read more

I haven't had the opportunity to use these guys yet, but my builder advised that I'd need to contact them about installing my wiring package. It's been a week now, I've been calling since Monday and have left a message 3 times now with NO returned call. I think I'll follow the advice of the other reviews here. I'll let them do the wiring for the package that I've purchased with the home but sign up for NO additional services. If it's this hard to get in contact with them to setup a new install and potential contacted customer, I can only imagine trying to get tech support, or customer care involved. Since December of 2022, I have attempted to settle an overpayment issue with Homepro Technologies. After discovering that I paid for services by credit card and also by check, I have not been able to speak to a manger or a supervisor to resolve the issue. I have contacted Homepro five times and have never been able to speak to any one of competent authority who can simply return my overpayment. Obviously, the customer service representatives are not empowered to resolve issues, and the information they pass to upper management is not acted upon. Whenever I contact Homepro I am required to repeat the same information that was supposed to be recorded for each of my calls. When requesting a manager or supervisor, I am placed on hold for 4 to 5 minutes only to be told that there is no supervisor available and that I will get a call back. I have yet to receive a call from anyone at Homepro. What is truly unfortunate, is that I will be required to deal with this company well into the future. I take full responsibility for my part in this issue. I only wish that since Homepro confirmed that I overpaid, that they would acknowledge their responsibility and make it right. I wish I could do less than 1 star. I was pressured into continuing to use them and getting a new panel in 2021 because my old one was aging out. Little did I know that by me paying $100 to get a new panel installed also consisted of me signing up for a FIVE YEAR CONTRACT at $45 per month and the only way to get out of it is to pay the remaining balance. I absolutely will never use HomePro again, and I would strong encourage others to steer clear of them and their shady tactics. I'm currently in the process of moving into an apartment and selling my house because I lost my job and cannot afford afford my house and they want $1200 dollar from me to cancel my contract, OR I can pay $45 per month until 2026 for a service that I will not be able to use. I explained this to the customer service representative and they didn't care. They told me to try and pressure the buyer into taking over the contract or pick one of the options from aNovember. I really wish Yelp has 0 star. One star is not enough to describe how horrible the service is. If you are building a house with a builder who uses Homepro, DO NOT get any equipment from them. They might seem all nice and helpful, but wait till you pay and close on the house. They DO NOT care about their customers once the deal is done. Before my house close, they were so nice and caring. They emailed and called us two three times to schedule an "orientation" to show us where all of our wiring was, which in reality is just a sad sales pitch. We got some home security equipment from them, unfortunately..... After we close, none of our security keypad is there. When i called, they just kick the ball around and tell me to talk my sales rep. Apparently, they don't have any record showing I bought these equipment from them. If you are thinking about getting any additional service done by them, think again! I am tired of explaining my situation over and over again only to be transferred to a voicemail. Even the builder warned us about getting equipment from them, how funny! Bought a new home in Frisco and had a consultation since they installed the equipment through the builder and had their stickers on the security keypad and control box in the closet. The guy came out and didn't know what had been installed, didn't bring anything to reach the control box to see what was inside, and did not know how to operate the security keypad. Instead he walked around looking at doors and windows to see what was there. Guess what, one sure fire way to lose my business is to send some clueless clown to my house representing your company. HomePro: If you INSTALLED the equipment, send someone who is actually familiar with the installation and equipment. The guy has called me twice since his visit to find out my status, despite me telling him on the FIRST follow up call that I had secured monitoring service through another company. We had no other choice but to use HomePro when we built with Westin Homes. Our security system is totally worthless, in fact it chirped so much we finally disconnected the whole thing after they told us that's the way it was supposed to be during a power outage. We had them prewire for our 75" TV and paid additional for them to mount it. It was a sloppy install and we ended up having to call the manager of installation and make him send someone back to center the TV on the wall. Then they said they couldn't hook up any components because we hadn't purchased them from HomePro. We didn't purchase the TV from them either. I am pleasantly surprised with our interaction. He was quickly able to diagnose my issue and scheduled a technician to come out. OMG. Where do I begin. Run, I mean run from these folks. I bought a home by a reputable builder that had them prewired my home security system. I figured they'd be decent so I didn't do any research on them. I spent close to $18,000 on their home theartre and security system total and all I've received from these people in exchange for giving them this much business is treated like trash. I was very clear from the beginning on what I wanted - a home security system that I can go and play back. The sales person Mark even showed me a video footage of what their security system can do, which was a playback of a live entryway video feed. Mark told me that my recording goes on a cloud. My husband asked agaim and he showed him all these wonderful things their system does. So I ordered 4 exterior cameras, some glass break and a whole bunch of other stuff totaling almost $3000. A couple of days after install, one of the cameras went out and I called customer service and she told me I have to be standing in front of the camera before she can trouble shoot. Really in this modern day and age ??? Then I wanted to pull footages from a couple of days after the install. I had 7 people from technical tell me that my camera wasn't capable of doing that and that they'll need to have a salesperson come and sell me something more advanced for what I wanted to do. Then Craig, Mark's boss has someone call me to say that my system can do what I wanted it to do. Several people from the same company kept telling me different things and for 3 weeks my simple request of what I had asked for the reason I bought the home system was never fulfilled. Having an expert look at the system, it's very clear they sold me a very old system that is about 4 years behind and that's why it can't perform these functions. They told me I have to be looking at the cameras on my phone or tablet live and press on the cameras to capture what I need to capture live. Why would I need a home security of I have to staring at it all the time?. They pretty much sold me a system that they knew couldn't do what I wanted it done and still sold it anyways. So I asked to return the equipment exactly 10 days after install which includes all the days they've been stringing me along to try and give me an "imaginary video footage " that don't exists. I've tried reaching out to Craig and he refuses to respond my emails or phone calls. Customer service tells me I have to pay $650 to cancel my service. Which no one communicated to me that I was on a 3 year contract. I made it very clear from the beginning that I wanted a month to month and the sales person said it was month to month. Plus the technician caused a lot if structural damage to my home and home pro claims it's the builders responsibility to fix the damage they made in my home. Please see photos below . In December 2020 we moved into our new home. During construction HomePro installed high-voltage soffit lights which are about 25 feet high. The first service tech for the first appointment didn't have the part to install the light (This was mid-October). Two weeks after the first service call, we scheduled another appointment. I took off work and stayed home for the appointment. HomePro never showed and never called even though I confirmed the appointment with the office the day before. When I contacted them as to why they never showed up, HomePro indicated the light had to be ordered. Today, the new light was scheduled to be installed. The service tech called me and asked me to send him a picture of the light that needed to be replaced. The fact that there wasn't a part number listed on the service ticket only emphasizes HomePro's poor business practices. Another example is that HomePro installed the surround sound system. A microphone was supposed to come with the sound system package, but we did not receive it when the system was installed. When we inquired about the microphone, we were told it wasn't included with the system and that we would be required to purchase one; however, in the start-up DVD, it clearly indicated the microphone was included with the sound system. Had we not viewed the start-up DVD, we would have never known and would have purchased the microphone. I literally can't believe how bad this company's business practices are! I must say, my dad is a character. He's so old school and would still have a rotary phone on the wall if he could. Joel was so patient with him through all his many questions. He took extra time explaining the options in layman's terms - even my dad understood. I know it would be easy to roll the eyes with some of the questions he asked, but we never got any of that (although I rolled mine a few times ).
