SORRY, BUT I CAN'T RECOMMEND DFW SECURITY. I had existing alarm system and signed a 3-year contract only for the discount that I received on my homeowner's insurance policy. I can't / won't recommend them due to the sole fact that they refuse to release you from your contract in the event of a long-distance move. At the end of my second year, my fiancee and I moved out of the DFW area to another city several hours away. I would have been happy to transfer my service to our new address. Although DFW Security doesn't offer service in that market they refused to release me from my contract. I was given the option of 1) transferring my service to my new address 2) transferring the service and remaining balance of my contract to a friend or family member still in the DFW area or 3) transferring it to my previous home's new owner. Since none of those was an option, I ended up paying $252 to buy out the final 12 months of my contract. Most companies will release you from your service agreement without penalty if you provide proof of relocation outside their service area. Be warned that isn't the case with DFW Security. They're polite and make it easy to end your contract, but the entire process still left me feeling a bit put-off. read more

I am very disappointed with the service. This is a scam operation. You say one thing over the phone but you do not deliver when it comes down to the package you explain over the phone. Who wants just a pad on the wall? What about the monitor? I have a monitor in the hallway where nothing is hung up. But I have told my family members if anything happens to me take legal action. I had been an ADT customer for almost 15 years and finally decided to look around. And it resulted in costing me in more ways than one. Do NOT TRUST THEM They will mark up every one of your items, so do your research. Get EVERYTHING in writing with the tech models and pricing included before you ever even agree to have them come out to your home. They will tell you...you have no rights. If I could give them zero stars I would. I sold my house over a year ago due to my partner being hospitalized and no longer being able to provide financial support in order for us to keep our home. When I called to cancel my service, DFW security stated that I still had one more year on my contract and I would still need to pay the full amount left on the contract. The option they gave me was to transfer my service to a different location, however, because of the medical bills and other financial constraints, I am currently living with my best friend until I get my feet back underneath me. The person on the phone gave me another option of canceling my service with a cancellation date of the day I called, but I would have to pay the full amount of the remaining year right then. Or I can do a cancellation date of the last day of the contract, but I would still be responsible for paying the monthly premium until then. Since there is no way, I could pay a year's worth of monthly premiums at one time, I elected to just cancel the service with the termination date being the last day of my contract. Now, a WHOLE year and two months later, I received a charge for service that is $10 more than the original premium-- reminder: all of this is for a house I sold and have not lived in for OVER A YEAR! Today, I asked the person on the phone, if I would be refunded for last month fraudulent premium charge since I canceled my service over a year ago and was told that the person I spoke with last year did not submit my cancellation, therefore they cannot refund my money from last month because it cost the company money to have to run and upkeep the service that was provided last month. WHY WOULD I CARE THAT YOU LOST MONEY ON KEEPING A SERVICE I CANCELED ON A HOME THAT I HAVE NOT OWNED OR LIVED IN FOR MORE THAN A YEAR? I HIGHLY advise that you stay away from DFW Security!!! Avoid DFW security like the plague. I asked for a quote from them in January 2021 and when I didn't go with them right away (or ever) the employee called and said that their "big boss" was there offering a "deal." I passed at the time and didn't go with them. Today, June 11, 6 months later, I got 6 phone calls from them 6! Telling me their "big boss" was in the office again offering deals. If the pricing was that good, they wouldn't have to play the "big boss" B.S. and they would give it to you. Everyone hates games like this, and these guys play the sales bait and switch hardcore. Find another sales model and employees who don't harass customers with 6 phone calls in one day. 2 calls at 1:11 (one hang-up and one left to voicemail) 2 calls at 1:43 (same as above) 1 call at 4:55pm Why would anyone want to deal with a company that out of the blue after 6mos blows up a phone call, plays the "I got a big boss card," for their home security? I really regret that I chose this company to service my business and residential security needs! Very unprofessional , rude and untrustworthy customer service ! After I've switched the internet carriers , my monitor display stoped connecting to WiFi, called to DFW security and told them about the issue, and also another mess that they left after installing the system (they left hole around the outlet, see the photos) they came finally after 10 days of my initial call and told me that the monitor is defective and needs to be replaced , and I told them to replace it , because it got broken after almost a month of their installation, and the answer from DFW security was that I need to pay an additional $400 to get it replaced, and I told them it's under the warranty, and the DFW security installation manager Daniel Dogba told me that I need to contact directly to the manufacturer for the free replacement!! Really?? The DFW Security is the distributor of the monitor, they advertise and install the monitor, but they don't want to cover the replacement under the manufacturer warranty?? In that case why they don't tell the customer upfront that that's case, when they're making a sales call to me , they've assured that everything parts and labor ) are under 1 year warranty!! What a lie! Based on my personal experience I highly don't recommend to use this company services, there are many better companies that they can serve your business and residential security services, needs in honest and more qualified manner. In Response to the Owners comments to our review, a licensed electrician was hired to extend the cable as the photo clearly shows our fridge will not open with it being installed in the original spot. Any issue we have is always responded by we don't have any availability for a technician to come out until 2 weeks later. How am I supposed to sell the items that are displayed in that fridge or are you implying that we shouldn't be using that fridge? Hence why we hired someone else to extend the wire (which mind you is literally two wires, something a trained ape could do) But blaming us for faulty equipment? Shame on you, if the panel did indeed "short" it would not turn on at all, but thats not the case, the wifi does not turn on nor is there radio signal, essentially making this panel worthless. I will be contacting my attorney if this isn't resolved one of two ways, come take your shotty equipment back and cancel our contract or come fix your equipment that you claimed had a 1 year warranty when you installed it. Instead of putting effort into downplaying our concerns you should be putting in effort to fix your mistake. I have dealt with them for several years. Used to be okay. Then my account was sold off without telling me. Yet they billed me as well as the new company monthly. They would refund me and say it was fixed. Couple months later it starts up again. Final straw is getting a text saying I owe two months payment because my card expired and they never called me or anything. They could spend the money and subscribe to the service that updates card expirations. The porch camera works fine until someone pushes the doorbell and then never connects. They fixed it three times and still never works. Return calls are rarely received. Finally I switched to ADT because they offer a discount to State Farm customers and they actually have equipment that works. They disconnected the DFW system and DFW never notified me they aren't getting a signal. Guess I could have been robbed and never received anything to tell me from DFW. Now DFW wants me to pay $600 to cancel yet they still owe me. Typical pay me for nothing. Good luck with getting it because I have documentation to show they have crappy billing and systems. I don't even want to give one star because they are that bad. But it says I have to. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible coany. Please look somewhere else. This company does not even do its own billing. I set up.my account via direct deposit and then they opened a loan with another company for the equipment and did not explain this to me. Then I got a collection notice from the equipment company. I called and explained to them that they did not properly explain the billing process and they said there is nothing they can do. The system itself is fine. The sales and contract are not. They lure you in with a 12.95 have your whole home connected deal but by the time you have anything of substance it ends up being $50+ ( I have a doorbell system, one glass break sensor and 3 door alarms). In addition, the contract they get you to sign is 36 months with virtually no option out of it other than transferring to some other poor pathetic soul or paying it off, even if you move! Do yourself a favor. A ring is $99 on Amazon. And the cost of installing your own glass break sensors and camera system will pay for itself vs the money youll be forced to endure over 3 years. I have and will continue telling all my new home owning friends to avoid DFW Security. In this day and age, making people sign such ludicrous contracts with no viability to get out is incredible. read more

Beware of customer service and contracts! There is NO viable way to get out of the contract without paying for everything IN FULL or passing it along. Beware! I have been double billed twice for the monthly service. The first one was in March of 2021 and then again in now in June. They finally resolved the March extra billing but I had to prove to them of the billing error and send the statements because they did not believe me since they are incompetent and their system did not show the error. I was told that I would be able to get video clip sent to my phone through text message I am away from my house many days at a time and also out of the country and wanted text messages sent to me. After many months of being on the phone with T-Mobile alarm.com Apple and DFW Security no one can fix the issue and I cannot receive any video clips or thumbnails on my phone. I've had technicians out to my house many weekends in a row and no one knows what the problem is they won't allow me out of my contract even though the system doesn't work like I was told it would when I signed up. Spent a lot of money to have new security cameras installed for my office and store. It has been 3 1/2 months and one of the cameras has failed. The cameras I'm being told has a 3 year warranty but I have to pay them $95 an hour to come out, take it off the building, take it away, bring back a replacement camera and put it back on the building. Or, I could stand on a ladder and take photos of the equipment while they walk me through troubleshooting the problem. The price sheet lists that they have a 90 day warranty on labor, well, weren't we fortunate that this happened 2 weeks after the labor warranty. Makes me wonder about the rest of their high quality with value equipment they installed. Go somewhere else with a better warranty on labor and better customer service. read more

Worst company and worse services. We just started a security monitoring services with them. They tried to sell us the protection plan for $10 addition to monthly services. We refused and the system died after 4 months. They refused to send someone to fix unless we pay $95 trip charge plus materials. The system had one year warranty but DFW refuses to honor it. I spoke with a rep for DFW Security, he was very knowledgeable and spoke at length about his product and what I needed for my security needs. He spent about an hour of his time on the phone with me explaining and answering questions on their product. Well, I let him know I had to talk to my wife before I made any decisions that would put us into a long term contract. That's where the call went bad. He questioned my integrity. He gave me a hypothetical situation. He asked what if he could offer the equipment for free, would I give him a decision right there. I told him that would be nice but at the end of the day I had to speak with my wife about it. That is when he actually said that he was just trying to catch me in a lie by offering me the equipment for free and make a decision at that time without speaking to my wife. I would expect a business to respect my house rules when it comes to making decisions that will affect myself and my wife. At that point it was clear that I would never do business with anyone who handled their business in such a way. I found another company who gave me the respect to speak with my wife first. read more

Firstly, the contract for DFW Security is for a three (3) year term which they are more than happy to sneak by you without your realization that you are committing to a third of a decade with one business partner. When we discussed my apprehensiveness with a 3 yr contract as I cannot and would never proceed with such a long-term commitment, I was reassured that they would work with me based on the circumstances. Installer was friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. Their sales team, contract, everything involved with how their management handles their business is shady as heck. Agreed to a one year contract with the rep on the phone and when the installer arrives asks me whether I've signed the contract, well they never sent one. Then they send one, I sign it to get the system transferred and get back to work but they still are so incompetent that they need to resend it AGAIN so I click through it quickly to get moving and finally they can proceed with the transfer. Did not realize they switched the terms of the contract to be 3 year instead of 1 year. Shame on me for not thoroughly checking but they clearly try to pressure customers into longer contracts that you get locked into. So I'm fresh into a 3 year SCAM with DFW security. read more

So, we are 8 months into a 3 year contract and my husband is being transferred to another state, which they are unable to transfer my service to since they are local only. Even though they are unable to keep their end of the agreement by providing me service, they are still expecting me to pay for it. They did a great job of customizing a great system for our needs including multiple cameras around the house that record live video day and night. Really like all the features and ability to check in on the house while we are away and know that everything is ok....also not going to find a nicer family that owns/runs the show. They stand behind their products and make sure it is worth putting on the market by trialing it out first on their own home and working the kinks out to ensure you are getting the best in town! read more
