I had previously taken a DIY approach to my A/V and security systems, but wanted to make my new place fully integrated from a technology standpoint. I started researching companies and got quotes from several before making my final decision. I found Kelltech Systems by searching the internet, looking for a Control4 dealer in the Dallas areas. They were Platinum rated by Control4 and had good reviews online, so I gave them a call. Kyle is the lead sales person there and he came out to my home to meet with me in person to talk through what I wanted to accomplish. We discussed options for putting music throughout the home (my home happened to be pre-wired for speakers, but none were installed), surveillance cameras so we could see the perimeter of the house, an alarm system with remote control from an app (alarm.com), and some light home automation including lighting control for some key lights, automated shades for my master bedroom, and thermostat integration. Kyle answered all of my questions on these topics and educated me on some ideas I wasn't aware of (like having the alarm sensors trigger lights to come on when I come home). He sent me a detailed, written proposal a few days later, and made the changes I needed to the proposal so that I could move forward. The install crew that came out was prepared for the work, knew exactly what was to be done, and carried out the work quickly and professionally. They trained me on the system so that I felt comfortable using the features and they left my home very clean, despite having cut in new speakers into the ceiling (a messy job). All that to say, if you're looking for a competent, professional, and friendly company for your A/V and security systems, Kelltech is a great resource. I will say they weren't the cheapest bid I received, but I felt like they understood what I was wanting to accomplish and weren't trying to low-ball me with their proposal. Good work Kelltech!

Let me start by saying that I really wanted to leave a five-star review. However, in fairness to other customers who may hire Benjamin to do work in their homes or business, I thought it only right to share my thoughts. We hired Benjamin's Cabling to rewire our home and a separate building on our property. He worked very hard to get the job done and was very patient with my questions and requests for information as we went. Initially, communication was great and timely but over the course of the project timeline, this did not remain the case. I would reach out multiple time via email and text and not hear back for a long while. In addition, there were requests that I made for the project which were not and still have not been completed. Since having our home hardwired, we have since needed to build on that infrastructure with security systems and other smart home features. As other professionals have come into our home and home business to do their part of our build-out, they have pointed things out to me that Benjamin didn't do correctly or finish up properly -- things that I wouldn't have known to ask for but that other professionals think Benjamin should have understood and made provisions for. I have since emailed, texted, and called Benjamin multiple times to have him come back and tie up loose ends. He has not replied. Earlier this fall, I recommended him to a friend. She heard back promptly from him initially but she has since followed up and not received a response. I have asked Benjamin to let me know if there was some reason that I wasn't receiving a reply so that if this was the case I could address that. Still no reply. We spent thousands of dollars and before anyone else does the same, I just wanted to make sure you had the opportunity to know in advance that communication may be an issue. It has definitely been for us. In addition, while everything Benjamin said he would do he eventually did, some of the parts of the projects involved him figuring things out. We had to purchase multiple TVs and soundbars because the initial recommendations he made didn't work together. This cost me additional money both in product expense and in my time running back and forth to the store. Benjamin is very smart but he is also young and building his business. This was something I was happy to help him do because his work was good and initially it appeared his professional level of customer service was too. Unfortunately, he left some loose ends that will now cost me additional money to tie up. Again, initially, I was very impressed. I even asked Benjamin to share about his experiences as a young entrepreneur with my three teenage sons. I'm still impressed with the work he did complete but I believe that his youth may also play a role in the lack of timely communication and a few parts of the projects that weren't completed properly. Hopefully, this helps someone make a decision, and if you decide to go with Benjamin just make sure you are extremely clear with Benjamin about what you want done and the time frame in which it should be completed. In addition, I would also make sure that you have a backup plan for a company that will service the install should something not be set up correctly or if you are unable to reach Benjamin in the future.
