Had a great experience getting our electrical selections done with HomePro for our new build with Beazer. Everything went so smooth and we greatly appreciated how Brian walked us through each step in the process, gave us confidence in the decisions we were making, and helped us understand what options were included in our build, total cost of any additional options we wanted to add, and he didn't make us feel pressured to make any decisions that were additional expense. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Install during my new home construction was a disaster. Had to keep calling them to come back out and fix this or fix that. Moron installers thought it would be a great idea to put the woofer connection right in the middle of a walkway. Mind you, this was a NEW CONSTRUCTION!!! The woofer connection could have been anywhere. During the 4+ years of alarm service, the fire department came to my house no less that 8 times for false alarms. Also during the 4+ years of service, I had to replace the battery 4 times. There are actually two batteries up in the alarm box right now. Of course, there were service fees every single time they sent someone out to fix a problem they created. I sold my house and I'll be moving next week. They scan Zillow and all the real estate websites to see who has their house on the market and who might have been suckered into using their subpar service. They started calling me months ago trying to get me to convince the buyer of my home to continue with their service. And tried to get me to move HomePro service over to my new home. That was never going to happen. I'd rather use Chico's Bail Bonds as my alarm company. The cancellation process was easy enough, but I have to pay for the remainder of my annual contract of their epically terrible service. Avoid this company. Do not use HomePro. 1 Star Very disappointing experience with HomePro. I was charged a $100 service fee for a technician to come out and address an issue with my alarm and lights. Unfortunately, the problem was not fixed, yet HomePro still refused to refund the $100 service charge. I have no issue paying for a service when the problem is actually resolved, but being charged $100 for a visit that did not fix the issue and then being denied a refund is extremely frustrating. Video captured from the cameras is bad, but most importantly, READ THE CONTRACT BEFORE YOU SIGN ON WITH THEM. We were put in one for 5 years and wanted to cancel after 2 due to them not picking up activity in our yard on multiple occasions.....but a cheap Amazon camera in my window could. When we went to cancel, we had to pay over $1,400 to buy the remaining years out. A contract is a contract I get it, but we will never do business with this company ever again. This company has given me my worst experience dealing with alarms. My first issue is the representative was not honest with my contract. He told me consistently. I only had a three year contract only to find out four years later. I have a five year contract unbeknownst to me. I have had a contract with Homepro for the past 5 years. Their services are sub par and really is just not good. Customer service is awful. I gave nothing good to say. I recently attempted to cancel this service and find that I need to give 60 days notice and I have just passed that window. There was no notification of any type of a renewal, but they will renew it- like it or not. They offered a buyout that exceeds the amount I would pay over the year so I'm stuck with them for year 6. Our experience was great so far. After reading reviews after reviews, I was very concerned going into this appointment with Home Pro. Brian Green was our sales consultant and I was very very pleasure with his knowledge, experience and overall comfortability with the appointment. He went over everything in depth. Was not PUSHY at all. Did not try to sale us things that we did not need and just wanted to help us get the best bang for our buck. He even gave us recommendations because he knew that we would be doing some of the projects after market. After reading the reviews, I thought we would spend 10k-20k and we didn't spend anywhere close. I felt like we got everything we wanted for a decent price. We did bring up our concerns for customer service regarding Home Pro. He said that he would be our point of contact from now and in the future. Which made us feel 10x better. We went with the 5 years warranty for the camera system and security with Savant. We ended up getting 6 camera overall for the house including the front door bell, 5 cameras around which is going to be great. We also, did all mount hiding and upgraded our surround system wiring. I've moved 2 years ago. They didn't let me cancel back then. I've been paying for someone else for 2 years. I'm still trying to cancel it. I've called multiple times trying to have it canceled. Kept on getting transferred around and placed on hold. I'm now on hold going for 18 mins. Still no one has pick up the phone to help me. Multiple wiring issues. Multiple breakers replaced. Works too fast with no direction. Installed low voltage without direction. Worked on Saturday and ran wiring without location approval from builder. Worst fail-- installed grounding wires on wrong terminal in panel. Lighting strike wiped out all home electronics. Investigation found ground wire faulty installation. Overall work required multiple fixture replacement requiring Sheetrock repair in almost every room. Didn't caulk one fixture. Overall they didn't burn the house down... yet. read more

I strongly urge anyone considering HomePro to read the contract very carefully before signing. You are entering into a 3-year agreement, and if you don't cancel more than 60 days prior to the annual renewal date, you're automatically locked in for another full year. That detail is not emphasized upfront, and it's incredibly frustrating to discover later. Especially when the representative we worked with originally told us it was a 2-year agreement and month-to-month after. When we brought that up when trying to cancel, we were told he's no longer with the company. Wonderful. The equipment is also overpriced for what you receive. We paid nearly $2,000 upfront, and on top of that, we're charged $40+ per month, yet all we get are 30-second video snippets of subpar camera footage. There is no live video monitoring, and the outdoor cameras don't even have sound capability. For the price, this is unacceptable. Overall, the value simply isn't there. Most dishonest company ever. The sales person gave me a personal sob story then told me Home Pro was a "family owned Texas company." I signed the contract in good faith and when the equipment started malfunctioning in the first week, Marjorie Morales, a supervisor with "Customer Loyalty," (Hahahaha) refused to let me out of the contract. Four years later, I sold my home and when I called to cancel my service I was told they automatically renewed my three year contract when it expired for another year without informing me. Other states have laws requiring alarm companies to inform customers when their contracts are expiring. Texas does not. I had the displeasure of speaking with good old Marjorie Morales again who told me the automatic renewal was written in the contract I signed over three years ago. I apparently needed to give them 60 days written notice of cancellation before the end of the initial contract. If I'm selling a home, how am I supposed to know when it's going to sell? With so much going on during a move how many people have their alarm contract at the forefront of their minds? Marjorie reminded me I signed the contract and that I now owed $580.86 for the remaining ten months left on the contract that they auto renewed without telling me. Wait. I have to pay you for services that you won't be providing me because you snuck something into a contract? Yes. Why don't you just switch to a month to month contract once the initial contract expires? Seems like the fair and honest thing to do. I'll tell you why. Home Pro knows their equipment and service are so atrocious no one will ever renew their contract after the first term. By deceiving you and locking you into a contract, they guarantee several hundred more dollars per customer. Their business model is profit over people. They know they burned you but if they can make some extra money on the way out they are perfectly ok with that. Corporate greed personified. Back to Marjori.... This creature generously offered m a 30% discount on a "leaving buyout" to get out of the additional ten months I supposedly owed them for a grand total of $406.46. So what are my options?..... File a complaint with BBB? Home Pro somehow has an A+ rating with them. That's no good. File a complaint with DPS? They responded within one day saying it's a civil matter. Hire an attorney or fight it in small claims court? Who has the time or money for that? If I don't pay their ransom, they report me as a deadbeat to the credit bureaus and a collection agency hounds me until I pay up. So what do you do? You pay up like most people probably do. The real problem is the lazy and corrupt system that allows companies like this to continue to take advantage of trusting people who are acting in good faith. Well, that's my story. And there are many more like it if you care to read on. But it's not all bad. There are lessons to take away here.... Avoid contracts if at all possible. Contracts exist to force people into doing things they do not want to do. Do not ever under any circumstance do business with Home Pro, AKA Home Protech. Tell everyone you know and care about to avoid this unethical company. When you see Home Pro stickers and lawn markers on houses and windows tell the owners about these tactics and warn them to exit their contracts immediately. Inform your neighbors and look out for each other. Your federal, state and local governments certainly won't do it. Spread the word and tell everyone you know this company has devised a way to lock you into a contract and extract extra money from good, hard working people. Don't bother replying Home Pro. Dishonest with hidden obligations, had a call with their salesperson by the name Justin Doan on 07/08/2025 as they were referred to me by the builders, 6 months prior to the closing of the house, we opted to have front camera, we were then told that we need to pay $99 to have the installation of the camera included in the planning of the house. 6 months later, we are confronted with signed contracts, after consulting with the company im told to pay or face collections who will mess up my credit record. HomePro was incredibly friendly and accommodating when they wanted my business. Smiles, reassurances, and great communication during the sign up process. Unfortunately, that level of service completely disappeared once there was an issue. One of my speakers, an SBR-41, stopped working while it was still under warranty. I contacted HomePro for a replacement and after multiple calls and emails, someone finally responded only to tell me to contact Origin Acoustics, the manufacturer, myself. Origin Acoustics then informed me that they can only process warranty replacements through the original purchaser, which is HomePro. When I went back to HomePro with this information, they insisted that I still needed to be the one to initiate the warranty exchange. This turned into a frustrating game of ping pong between the two companies, with neither willing to take responsibility or reach out directly to the other. After going back and forth five times, I gave up. Great sales experience, terrible post sale support. If something goes wrong, expect to be on your own. BEWARE. Their sales folks will mislead you to get the sale. I signed up on 12/21/2022 right after we closed on our house. Between the moving and Christmas chaos plus our dog was actually dying (which I told him as he was sitting on my couch with her), I was the perfect target for their salesman. I was nervous about signing up, because I was unfamiliar with these services. He asked, "Is this your forever home?" I said, "The longest we have stayed somewhere has been two years," and he said, "Two years is perfect for this service." In that conversation I was under the impression that it was a two year term. He was in ear shot when I repeated that to my husband. He walked me through the contract on an iPad, holding it while explaining each item. He would summarize, say, "Just initial here," then click the DocuSign box, making the signature box fill the screen. At no point was I informed I was agreeing to a five-year term. Though on the contract it looks like I signed "right next to" the term, I never held the iPad and he always clicked the signature before showing it to me. Beyond being misled, HomePro's service has been far from "the best in the market." Our builder-included doorbell disconnected, and I was told it would cost $120 to fix. Customer service suggested buying a different doorbell instead, which I did. Now, my front door lock is disconnected and I will have to pay a service fee to have them fix it. I cannot change the access codes to my house and I cannot lock or unlock my door remotely now. I also ordered a smart garage door, but the technician informed me I already had one. He said it would be removed from my equipment loan, and the sales person confirmed, but I continued being charged until I noticed. Additionally, our control panel failed twice, yet HomePro didn't prorate our monitoring fees. When I finally decided to switch services due to the faulty equipment, I only then discovered I was locked into a five-year term and it's $1400 to cancel. Tech changes so much within 5 years, a 5 year term would be a tough sell which is why they conceal it. Just going to list my issues: 1) They use multiple systems that don't integrate well with each other. I have a door bell from Claire, cameras (another brand) which means 2 apps to monitor similar areas 2) they ran my hdmi directional cable incorrectly and had to cut out the wall and reinstall, they blamed the builder when the builder confirmed home pro installed them 3) for the love of god they can not seem to get my security password correct. Every time I call I have to update it, this is over a span of 5 months. Cops came to my home cause home pro stated I gave the wrong code, the code they have we have no clue where it came from 4)door bell stopped chiming on inside 5) thermostat (another App) not connected to HomePro app 6)cameras are pretty horrendous, not clear, constantly disconnected, their sensors definitely don't pick up movement 7)when they set up my panel codes, we gave the tech the code we wanted, it happened to be the silent alarm code, cops came by to say hi at 5am... We have just moved to our new home in July. We were pressured by home builder to use the Home Pro security. They sold us on that of course they were best in the area and the state of Texas. There sells pitch has been less than sub par so far. The system in home works, I think. The garage always shows there is an issue. Our doorbell is the second one they have installed and has been broken or not working more than in use and working. The cameras don't work and the extender they have is always malfunctioning. To get service to our home is incredibly inconvenient due to our work schedules. I'm paying for security that I do not have. We have had many security companies and have never had an issue or even had to have them come out after first installation. I would highly recommend another security company. My wife did not like the long-term contract of $48 for 36 months. I called in to cancel our appointment before getting locked in for years (you have to cancel within 3 business days of signing up). The customer service rep lady was very rude and tried to make excuses to keep me locked in. She also told me I had 3 days to either mail/drop off the cancellation form in person. She couldn't simply just cancel over the phone, which is ridiculous. 1/26/23 Fast forward to today, I took the time to stop by the office to drop off the cancellation form. The receptionist looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I wanted to cancel. She finally got up and made a copy of the form and returned the original form to me. I also asked her for a confirmation form in writing to confirm our cancellation in case they try to screw me over. She replies we don't have one, which makes no sense. We've had Home Pro for two years, and it has been nothing but a headache. Their products constantly break, and if you dare to change your Wi-Fi password, good luck--nothing will work. When something inevitably goes wrong (which happens often), they charge $100 just to come out and fix their own faulty equipment. After dealing with issue after issue, we finally decided to cancel. When we called, we were told, "Just cancel sometime in March, and you'll be fine." That was a blatant lie. Because we missed some hidden deadline, they hit us with a $400+ cancellation fee. If I could give zero stars, I would. Once you sign the contract, don't expect any quality customer service. We switched our internet over and the cameras went offline and need to be reconnected to the new internet (to be expected). However, we are having issues connecting them. We called several times to get the instructions emailed over and we finally got the instructions after being spoken to in a very condescending way. After following the instructions and them still not connecting we called back. Only to be placed on hold for over half a hour just to be told that tech support will no longer be taking our phone calls because we already called three times( to retrieve the instructions pdf). I purchased a model home with a HomePro security system. When I ask a technician from another company to configure the system for me, he said he didn't have HomePro's Installer code or Dealer code. He could do nothing until the codes were reset. I contacted HP and asked for the codes and they refused. I asked if they could give them to my alarm tech and they refused. Customer service is terrible. I have been with them since 2018. Called up to cancel my contract because I was never called when the system was tampered with. They told me that it was my job to call them every 30 days to check the system to make sure it's working. Really? Anyway I had to give them 90 written notice to cancel. Ok did that. You have a problem with the driving of one of your techs. 5:30 pm 1/7/25. Your marked truck pulled out on FM730 directly in front of our truck doing 65 in a 70mph zone requiring my driver to lock up all 4 wheel He proceeded to brake check our driver 2 or 3 times and varied his speed from 55 to 49 mph. Seemed to have trouble maintaining a lane. Your driver finally turned off at Ric Williams. I home he doesn't kill anyone on I-20. Get him into AA or a good anger Management program before he does something that costs you your business . read more
