Absolutely DO NOT go to Star Power, DO NOT! Marc Block, manager, poor customer service. Built new home. Spent $60K on appliances. Example with $3.5K Napoleon grill. Marc recommended despite not being familiar with the product, which he eventually admitted to me. Great feeling. He helped design the outdoor kitchen so understood it was permanent and natural gas. Regardless, sold me propane so it doesn't work. My outdoor kitchen including masonry and taj mahal countertops was custom made to fit the specific Napoleon grill so expensive to switch and redo. It took 4-6 weeks between Napoleon and Marc to understand it was propane and needed a regulator. Still didn't work. I repeatedly requested a Napoleon rep come service the grill. No service and Marc simply referred me to Napoleon's national call center. Took another 4-6 weeks to finally learn from Napoleon, not Marc, that he sold me propane and therefore I also needed a conversion kit from propane to natural gas; AND if it had been natural gas, I wouldn't need the regulator or the conversion kit. Napoleon refused to sell me the conversion kit. Instead of doing the RIGHT THING and replacing the grill with natural gas, Star Power graciously offered to provide me the $26 conversion kit. I declined. After 3 more weeks of endlessly calling a number of diamond dealers, I still don't have a conversion kit. I'm done with Star Power and Napoleon! We just moved into our new home, and it's been 3 months and I still don't have grill. Absolutely Pathetic! Won't bother the other problems. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. They have $20,700 of my money that was a deposit for IN Stock items. I needed to cancel this order because it was not going to work for my space as we are remodeling and they are now saying it was not in stock and I will need to pay a restock fee when I have the text messages and witnesses to prove that it was in stock and that's how it was sold. Now the salesperson will not respond to me at all. To get my money, he took someone else's order that they paid for and reallocated it to my order and told me it was in stock, so now they are double dipping with peoples money. Do not shop at this Southlake store or at any of their stores. Absolute crooks. read more

This is a major alert about this company. They are not who they appear to be. They will over bill you for install and actually install is very amateur hour. The install guys fabricated a rack case for my network and didn't cut even or line it up with the wall stud (contracting 101). See below. They blew the power in one room taking speakers out, that didn't need to be removed which required an outside electrician to fix. See below. They shorted two thermostats from not grounding the wiring correctly. All of this they didn't come close to working the hours billed. If you want nothing but headaches and a very poor job these are your guys. My suggestion is to stay away. My GC was there most of the time and saw the effort. It was poor. They just care about the sell and not the install. Do NOT use them. Do some homework and get references. read more

I contracted with Starpower to design an AV system for my new home. After hours of meetings discussing the requirements, existing equipment that they needed to incorporate, etc., they made and I accepted a three-stage proposal. During the second phase, they ran into a problem with their Total Control-based control system (the one they selected and sold me for the job) not being able to integrate properly with my Kaleidescape system (Starpower is an authorized Total Control and Kaleidescape dealer so they should understand what is required to Kaleidescape integration). I paid them for the labor on the second phase after they promised to resolve the issue for free. After phase 3, the issue was still open so I refused to pay the phase 3 labor charges until the issue was resolved--that was last August. After touching base with the sales person a couple of times in the 5+ months since then, they seem to have given up on resolving my problem and are now sending me a bill for the phase 3 labor with no resolution for my issues and with a system that does not meet the requirements originally discussed (control over music in my game room). Basically, they have left me with a partially functional system and now are trying to wash their hands of the issue (and me as their customer). Their sales person and accounts receivable department are not returning my calls. Be careful about choosing Starpower as your integrator, they do not accept responsibility for what they sell, promise, or deliver. read more

I had my condo done and had nothing but trouble with programming TVs and finally my calls slowly stopped getting returned until I just gave up and hired another company to fix all the errors. My wife and I worked with Wyatt and Lonnie on a whole new set up for our new house. These two guys were fantastic, answered all of our (many, many) questions, worked with us on price, and were patient and responsive the entire time. The install guys were on time, professional, courteous and worked with us on all of our specifics. They did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and got our new tv and sound system mounted and calibrated in just a few hours. Amazing work! We would recommend Star Power to anyone looking to get a new home entertainment system. These guys can do million dollar projects or just mounting a tv and everything in between. We discussed perhaps a different method of communication with customers, so that in similar situations in the future, another salesperson could pick up and help out, and not leave us feeling stranded. New in area and bought a home in Westlake,TX. It had an antiquated Crestron system. Starpower came into our home and updated everything. Showed us step by step all we needed to do and worked to bring us the best price for all the work done. Every single person who came to our home was professional and truly knew their stuff! They were like technical wizards. They worked hours to get us up and effectively running . We have speaks throughout the house, new control monitors, can control AC AND Heat Throughout the house of each individual room from the house and whine away on an app. Can't recommend this company enough. It's a showroom. If a car dealership was limited to just the cars inside the fancy showroom, you'd never find the right one. This is why God (or Henry ford or someone) invented warehouses. You let them know what you need and they will get it for you. Stop being impatient, people! It's a TV, that if you do your research and plan ahead, will be in your life for the next 5 years! Overpriced and would not show us what we wanted. Kept trying to upsell us even after we told them exactly what we wanted and why. For some reason, we were walked around the entire place, shown all the media rooms we were not looking at buying, and then sat down at were the salesman showed the website of the item that we did not want! We left frustrated and hassled. We will stick with Amazon. Update: after this review I was contacted by the people at Starpower and they made it right. I have been to the southlake store twice in the last 4 months. Yes, this is an upgrade from Best Buy. They actually have a few listening rooms. They do carry revel, paradigm, Martin Logan so from an audiophile perspective middle of the road equipment. My beef is that both times I went to the store the supposed manager waited on me. Both times he could not figure out how to work the equipment. I left the store without listening to any systems. I would not let these guys set up my theater room even if they gave me a system for free. They are just clueless. read more

Well, me and the Hubs had a totally different experience with Starpower than the other two reviewers (maybe they work for competitors?). We were in the market for a new TV earlier this year since our 10+ year old TV was in rapid decline. We shopped around, including another nearby home theater place and Best Buy. The sales person at the other home theater store was so clueless we never considered buying from them, and Starpower's prices were competitive with Best Buy (with Starpower being only a little bit higher). We decided that the service level at Starpower would most likely be the better option, so we decided to spend a little more and go with them. The TV was delivered and set up as promised and the calibration was later done as promised. All service we've received so far has been friendly and professional. Additionally, we were also in the market for a new wall unit (cabinet) since the existing one that housed our old TV would only hold an old style TV. Starpower has a division that provides that service, as well (they didn't try to upsell us or anything - WE asked them if they knew of anyone in the area who could build one for us). They contract with a local cabinet maker (it was ManCave at the time we bought our TV, http://www.mancavedfw.com/index.html) who did an amazing job building our wall unit. It wasn't cheap by any means, but it is fabulous and a definite enhancement to our family room. I can also say only good things about the project manager who was the liaison between us and the cabinet maker. She was on the ball and constantly and consistently followed up on things. The whole thing (buying the TV and having the cabinet built) was a positive experience. Expensive, but positive. And it looks great! read more

Ralph made sure we got the appropriate equipment, and Craig and his colleague did a great job of installing. They called when they said they would, and showed up right on time. I purchased a Sony VW715ESB projector from Starpower in Southlake. I met with Jacob F., the salesperson, about building a home theater system in my media room. Jacob was extremely knowledgeable about the various product lines and very personable. Most importantly, I was impressed with his character because he was honest with me about how to spend money on the components. He never tried to upsell me on any of the gear. When I asked him a question, his response would sometimes be, "Although I am a salesperson, I am not going to recommend that you purchase something that is not necessary." When you purchase high-end equipment, you usually reach a point of diminishing return. Jacob and I often discussed that "point" so I would not overspend on a particular piece of equipment. It was a breath of fresh air to have a salesperson who was very familiar with the products, understood the specs if you wanted to have that conversation, and was truly concerned to exceed all my expectations during the sales process. I purchased a Sony TV from Starpower in 2007 and they mounted it then in my house. I moved away from TX in 2008 and just returned a week ago. I spoke with Matt at Starpower prior to arriving back in TX to coordinate mounting the TV again. Kyle and Rylie arrived at the scheduled time and did a great job remounting the TV. They also replaced the component cable run with HDMI cables and included a new run of speaker wire for my front speakers. Overall, their professionalism along with the quality of their work was great. They even finished the work in less time than originally planned so I'm receiving a refund of some labor time. Although I'm sure I could've been quoted a lower price by other electronics vendors, the price I pay to Starpower is well worth the peace of mind in knowing the work will be done correctly and on time. read more

Very good experience. We upgraded our TV and we got some new speakers. (Starpower moved the previous one we installed several years ago as well). They connected the new Sonos equipment to our existing system. In store employees were helpful and knowledgeable. The installation went like clockwork, they stayed late to fix an issue that was actually caused by Netflix. A small issue one week later was promptly handled with a call to the store. I spoke with Jovan from Starpower and he immediately put me at ease with his knowledge of home theater setup and his desire to understand my situation. For this reason, I made him my first stop. Simple: Breach of contract I was looking for the BEST price on a Sharp LEDTV and called StarPower noting the INTERNET pricing I had found. I told them I didn't expect them to meet internet pricing, but asked what they could do for me. I confirmed the part number with them, they went off the phone for several minutes and when they returned to the phone, they told me they would MATCH the internet price! I thought, maybe these guys are really who they say they are on their advertisements. Read on......... I immediatley went to the store and the salesman I spoke to told me he made a mistake on the part number (see above that I confirmed the part number with them) and the price would be $250 more, but that he was going to be a "good guy" and split the difference with me. No thanks after driving 30 minutes and wasting my time. I called the corporate office and they wouldn't honor it either, even though the difference between their promise and final offer was only $250. Even if this was an honest mistake, you would think that a company that screams CUSTOMER SERVICE would honor their word; instead, the customer gets screwed. I know that they could have done the deal because there are other dealers out there with better prices than StarPower promised....do you think those dealers are selling them at a loss? No, they are making money at that price. You can't trust anyones word these days and this country is in decline..... read more

Truly as good as it gets. My family and I recently moved into a larger home with our first media room, something I've always wanted. I visited Star Power in Southlake and worked with Adrian Ballard, who patiently walked me through all my options for the space I had. With literally zero pressure to buy, I decided to make a considerable investment, relying heavily on Star Power to properly handle and install the product. Adrian scheduled a visit prior to the install to take accurate measurements and make sure we hadn't overlooked anything. The install team showed up right on time a couple of weeks later and they were as professional as they come. Upon completion, they walked us through each component and showed us everything we needed to know about operating it properly. It's been 3 weeks since our install and we have had some terrific movie experiences in our own personal theater. It's everything I thought it would be and more.
