We worked with Chad in performing some media and internet upgrades during our remodel. He did a great job with the process from start to finish. First we discussed our goals for the project and he put together a solid plan with really good recommendations. After reaching out to a number of people to tackle a fairly large job, I regret not hitting up Pure Media Systems sooner. I initially called them as another guy, who I actually paid to give me a quote, completely bailed on me. Chad spoke with me on the phone for a decent chunk of time, schooled me on a few things, and it was evident that I wanted to hire him for the job.  I've been wanting to update my home's networking & security system for a while, as I was tired of the unreliability of WiFi amongst some other things. As I'm quite tech savvy, while I can handle configuring all the networking gear & cameras myself, running cables is not my speciality; I needed help here, and Chad was absolutely the right person to make it happen. Chad & his team ended up running a total of eighteen ethernet drops (2x wireless APs, 6x cameras, and the remaining for my various devices), one fiber drop for 10GbE networking, and he even opted to throw in some speaker wiring for a future project while we were at it. He allowed me to supply all the gear & was able to conveniently install it for me too. The whole job was knocked out in eight hours, and while there were some slight changes in the plans, I am a very happy camper with the end result; honestly it turned out better than what I was originally planning! I'm now able to get a minimum of 450mbps up/down over my new WiFi 6 (ax) APs throughout the entire house, even approaching 600mbps down/800mbps up on a good day. Previously I was running a custom WiFi mesh system, and this knocks it completely out of the park; while mesh solves some specific problems, hard-wiring APs is the way to go for both performance & reliability. And now that all my security cameras are hard-wired, it frees up my WiFi network for more important traffic, hardening both the reliability & security of these cameras. All the cable drops are running to a rack that houses various networking equipment, and it was Chad's job to get all the cable drops run to this location. A picture of this is included to show the end result, but do keep in mind this is my own doing, though Pure Media Systems made all of this possible! I will absolutely be calling Chad again for any future work that I need an extra hand with. He's a very talented fellow, and I'm happy the DFW area has someone like him to help us out with our various home theater, networking, security, and automation needs. I cannot say enough good things about Chad and Charles. The project remains on-going because we hit a significant snag, through no fault of theirs, but we are 95% complete. I will update upon completion (est. within a month, due to my schedule, not theirs). The Project: - Whole home wifi - enterprise grade, access points in multiple locations - Media rack, no sound (already invested in Sonos), - NAS, - A few hard line jacks throughout house, - A couple of cameras, - Move and remount 1 TV, wire others in existing location - All of this retrofitted on a 3,500 sq ft house, built in 1963, that was recently flipped (this is what caused the issue, along with my delay on another project). Review: - These guys really care. They run their business like we all would like to think we would run a business, if we owned one - Fast response on initial contact (less than 1hr). - Came the next day to do a walk through - spent 2hrs discussing our project with us (more than anyone else). - We had a couple of follow-up phone calls as they developed their plan and suggested other ideas - generally cost saving ones. - Their work is great - clean, efficient, logical and their ability to explain functionality / component operation without talking down to you is first rate (does not really apply to us, as we are relatively tech savvy - but we had questions and they broke it down for us without making us feel like idiots, especially in the planning stages). - Unlike their competitors, they do not mark-up the hardware severely over retail (I imagine they get a discount as vendors, but we all need to eat...). If you tackle a project like the below, I would highly encourage you to google the equipment being quoted. I was shocked at what people were marking things up - like someone won't think to google hardware prices...?? I picked Chad and Charles because of the quick response time, the fact they showed up on time, and the amount of time they spent with us. They also passed the 'dog test' (my dog liked them both, and they seemed to like her). While they one on price, that would not have swayed me by itself. I am generally a "you get what you pay for" type, but it just so happened that the lowest bidder (out of 4, and that does not include the no shows) was also the best! read more

I called Pure Media Systems to have an OTA antenna installed in my attic. As the previous homeowner had wired the living room for a home theater, I also wanted to get some ideas for replacing my "home theater in a box" with a system that would provide improved quality while eliminating any large exposed speakers. Chad came out within a few days of my initial call. He was knowledgeable and friendly and made a point to continually explain what he was doing as he performed his work. At my request, he added an additional coax drop in the living room as the existing drop was being used for internet access. The antenna installation went smoothly and Chad was able to tie the new coax drop to the existing On-Q panel in the master bath even though that was quite some distance from the living room. When looking at the home theater wiring, he suggested that I might want to replace the roll of wires protruding from the living room wall (and hidden in my entertainment center) with a set of binding posts on a new wall faceplate. I agreed that this would look much better and he managed to complete this during the same trip. I would highly recommend contacting Pure Media Systems if you are looking for any AV work to be done. Chad was quick to respond and I found his pricing to be quite reasonable. He also followed up his visit with a proposal for a mid-range home theater system as I had requested.
