I decided to start christmas shopping early for my nephew. I had wanted to get this munchkin a baby couch. Evan is only 9 months,but he is so advanced in his age.I was able to get my niece one from here last year. This time, I got no luck. There is no couch of any kind at this location. This place is fairly clean. I see mostly christmas decorations vs anything else. I didn't see much toys or baby items to purchase. Parking was fairly full. Customer service was really non existence. This store is always a hot mess. Most of the staff are really nice & helpful but management is always in a bad mood, I won't say which one. I saw something that was on clearance for $72 because it was broken from regular price of $79, how is that clearance. It should have been $20. We've only been to Home Goods twice ever. This used to be a large Sears store, but now half of the building is Home Goods (separate stores now). If I could describe the design inside, it's similar to their sister stores (TJ Max and Marshall's) in the sense of busy cluster at reduced prices. The aisles are cluttered and not all items have nice packaging. It's always nice to come here to get nicknacks you never knew you needed for your house or a gift for a friend. Manager needs to learn to speak to customers. I was accused of returning a rug that was not aligned to the receipt nor the tag I had in my hand. At the end it happened to be that they had sold a damaged product to me and the proof was on the other corner of the rug. This store has a ton of really cute stuff for decorating and organizing. The place is a mess though. It's a treasure hunt for sure. Prices aren't as low as I'd like but the quality is good enough. There are a lot of broken items on the showroom floor, I don't know if anyone organizes on a regular basis. I never find employees around to help. The cashiers are always pretty friendly. which is good because the line gets really long. I bought some faux plants to decorate with. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. This review is specific to my shopping experience in store last Friday. I was browsing the store, and there was a young lady sitting on one of the chairs in the center aisle waiting for a parent to come. I recognized immediately an employee at the store named Lisa (she was wearing a cotton-candy colored face mask with a yellow floral shirt and blue pants). She was very kind and attentive to the young lady and I think there was a compliment given about someone's nails. I just really liked the fact that Lisa stopped to do what she was doing and gave this young lady a dazzling smile to put on her face. Acts of kindness go a long way. :) read more

I love home goods. When I lived in Santa Clarita, I went every week. Recently I visited the Hastings Ranch location and I experienced some sort of racism. I only noticed it the second time I shopped there. There are two red headed ladies that work there. One younger and one older. The younger one would appear every so often while I visit Ted every aisle. Then by the time I was ready to pay, the older red headed lady approached me in line and said I'll help you over here. She rang up my items and then started to check every twenty dollar bill I gave her. My bill was about a hundred dollar. I happened to roll my eyes a little and look at the cashiers to my right and they looked worried for there jobs. I'm never going back there again. I rather drive 40 miles to and fro to the Santa Clarita branch. At least I won't be treated like a criminal.l over there. read more

Being a home hospital teacher, I am always looking for gifts for students. There are many toys with educational value. I also find the store good for home accessories. This location is where I fell into with Homegoods, first time I went to one. My first purchase was a cup and since then, it was love at first purchase. I've been going to this store since we moved to Pasadena and been my favorite. But today, I went to return a merchandise. The supervisor said that is now marked $7.99 now. Because i didnt have the receipt, so the cashier checked the price and they marked it down for 9.99 when the tag was $19.99. I said I'm here to just switch to a different color. im not returning it just switching to a different color, the one for sale but different color is marked the same as this $19.99. She said yes but it is now marked this price because you don't have a receipt, we are marking it $9.99. I think it depends on who's the cashier and the supervisor and I've returned merchandise without receipt before all they did was give me a store credit. Now they are trying to discourage people from returning without receipts. The merchandise I was returning ir switching was very much looks new and very good condition. I mean with their over priced merchandise and the pandemic, they should be thankful that people still go back there and purchase their stuff. They should be more considerate. read more

I bought an item here and it was missing a critical part for it to be useful. I contacted the company to ask for a replacement since the product wasn't discounted due to it's missing crucial piece. They gave me a refund on an egift card. Yes, it sounds good in theory. However, I'm now stuck with digital money that I can't spend or use unless I show up physically to their store. It reminds me of the trashy, disorganized old school KMart. The worst issue is, HomeGoods doesn't allow you to shop online. It's 2020 guys...you are missing out on a huge market. I definitely will NEVER shop here again. Inferior products, broken products packaged and sold at full price with no acknowledgement on the packaging that it's missing pieces or broken, and management is not astute enough to see these important consumer issues. So they don't have the widest selection of furniture here, BUT they do have some key unique pieces that I haven't seen spread accross the other HomeGoods. We drove out this way to get a specific shag rug 8x10 and I found a lovely beautiful vanity chair. It's busy here but pretty much the same will all the homegood locations on the weekend. Like this used to be amazing for the quality of selection and deals but lately it feels identical to its sister company, TJ Max. I couldn't get over the price of the furniture and other items last time I was there... I feel as though this change has occurred just in the last 6 months to year or so. I love going to Homegoods in general for some pretty good deals on decor & kitchen supplies & other random home necessities. With that being said, this location is not really the best. Homegoods is a lot nicer than other discounted stores and has better product, but I think the thing that threw me off with this location is the layout & organization. I know they can't help the size, but this is probably one of the smallest Homegoods I've visited. They still have tons of product where I think causes some of the disorganization in the store because some aisles are filled with trinkets while others have empty shelves. I am not sure if it was because I went after the Holidays, but the line could have easily wrapped around the entire store. Also, it was kind of a pain to browse the aisles when people were blocking the only way in with their carts. Again, this is probably due to the layout of the store. I do appreciate the customer service here as the people who helped me out were very friendly despite hearing some very rude customers yell at them the whole time we were in line. My boyfriend and I bought a coffee table, and the process of helping us move it into our car was very satisfactory. They allow you to pull up to the entrance of the store and have people help with lifting heavier furniture into your car. In the end, we came out with buying a few things. It took a while to sort out through the clutter of items but if you spend a good time looking you can find something really good. read more

It's a good thing my place is fully furnished and I don't need to buy much more household goods, or else coming here would be dangerous. The fiancee and I came here looking for some curtains for the two smaller bedrooms. This was the first time I've been here. Upon entering, I was immediately distracted by all the goodies. There were merchandise everywhere that I would've loved to buy if I have a need for them. Thank goodness I have enough self control not to buy anything and everything that I like but don't need. We couldn't find any curtains that were the right size, but he did end up finding a shelf that he needed at a reasonable price. We were there in the evening on a weekend, and the checkout line was fairly long, but it moved quickly. Our cashier was friendly. Homegoods, I found out is part of the same company as TJ Maxx and Marshalls. The difference is Homegoods only sells household merchandise, hence its name. Chain stores are only as good as their managers and the Manager of the HomeGoods, Pasadena deserves a raise for being a true customer service professional. I am a HomeGoods JUNKIE. I've been to at least 15 different stores in Southern California. And those of us who are die hard HomeGoods Treasure Hunters know the agony of seeing a 1-of-a-kind item with a SOLD tag on it, or a store with only one item when you need a matching set. That leaves you with the prospects of calling around to other nearby stores to ask if they have an identical one for sale. This can be a hit-or-miss ordeal - as you are at the mercy of whoever answers the phone. Well, here's my story: I walked into my local HomeGoods in La Canada and saw an 8 foot metal sign reading, "Welcome to the Ranch" complete with rustic flare for only $129.95. As a cactus collector, something like this would be perfect to hang above the entrance to my outdoor cactus and succulent garden. Alas, it had the dreaded yellow tag on it reading, "Paid Hold." Yes, I considered bribing a nearby employee to look "that-a-way" whilst I absconded with the sign. And yes, I also considered posing as the person who bought the sign but alas, my human decency and fear of recent advances in security video resolution prevented such nefarious deeds from getting past the "concept phase." So I returned home empty handed and my first call was to the nearest HomeGoods store - the one in Pasadena. The manager, a woman named Christine, I believe, answered the phone and diligently searched the store but told me that item was not yet in stock. As I thanked her and prepared to try another store, she VOLUNTEERED to take my name and call me back in the event they got the sign. I was surprised but incredibly grateful. However, I did not think anyone would call me back. Boy, was I wrong. Two days later, I get a call from the Manager telling me they not only got one sign...they got two - which was a very fortuitous thing, because another customer called for the same sign and already came in to buy the first one before the Manager's shift began. (Who know there were so many ranchers in Los Angeles.) Anyway, I drove right over and as I walked through the sliding doors, a woman on the phone streaked by me. I could tell by the name badge that she was the manager. She was diligently searching the store on behalf of a customer who was looking for an ordinary dinner plate! I was amazed that she cared as much about the customer wanting an $8 item as she did about my sign. She even asked me to wait up front at the cash registers while she got the sign, but when I saw that she was lugging it herself, I rushed over to help. Not everyone working in retail is this conscientious, diligent and kind. But she really made my day and I will not forget her kindness. read more

I hate returning items because you have to stand in line and wait your turn. When I came inside there was no line and Carmen, at the register had a great big smile and asked if I was returning items. Customer service and acknowledgement is rare these days. I went up to her gave her all the items and made it easy. I could have stayed a bit longer just to talk to her but she was working and I can't wait to go back and shop at your store. Your store should be proud to have her as one of your team members. I tend to leave reviews fairly carefully as I want them to be fair. I'm fine with supporting corporate stores if they suit what I'm looking for. I was standing in line tonight in a line of 3 parties total. There was one checker helping and apparently checking out 3 women/1 group in separate transactions. The 3 women were taking their time, checking prices and deciding on items. We were all in line for about 5+++ minutes (and the lone checker was well aware of us there) before she thought to perhaps ask for some back-up assistance. The store's main floor was not busy/other associates were obviously around. After calling for assistance, I saw one associate slowly and leisurely walking her way towards us. No one wants to waste their time standing to pay in a Homegoods store for an extended period of time. This happens time after time after time. I'm apparently a slow learner. I will NOT be coming back to a Homegoods. I do not and will not support stores where they do not value their customers' time. I mean, making people wait an extended amount of time to pay when there is zero need? You're a large, corporate store with at least 5+ check out stations and presumably a reasonable amount of employees. Does this make any sense?! Not for me. read more

Every eclectic hoarders DREAM. I get so overwhelmed by the amount of knick knacks they have the moment I walk in. My boyfriend even loves it here. He always stops me to show me something interesting and random. They have a good pet section. If you're into vintage country chic furniture they have a good selection of night stands and tables right now. They also have a kayak that's selling for $160 something. I was tempted to buy it just because I found it amusing that they even had something like that for sale. If you're looking to decorate your house, you have to stop by Home Goods. I've been coming here a lot since moving into my new house. They have a lot of good deals on home décor and kitchen essentials. I was able to find an entry table for my house for around $80 when all the similar ones I've looked at were at least double the price elsewhere. Whenever I visit (which is every few weeks or so lol) there are always new items to look at. The down side is that this particular store is kind of disorganized, especially if you come on a weekend. Also, make sure to check your items for any damages before purchasing. A lot of times there's something I really like but there's always something wrong with it (usually something is chipped) and unfortunately that it is the only one they have in stock :( But overall, I like shopping here and you never know what you'll find! read more

I love Homegoods although I am disappointed that not every location has the same merchandised. I went to many Homegoods to search for Libbey Vineyard Champagne Glasses and I found one set of 4. I hoped to find more champagne glasses so I traveled around to Glendale and a couple of places in Orange Country (Lakewood & Garden Grove). I revisit the same places the following week, but no luck. There was no point of keeping the Champagne Glasses because I needed 12 glasses for a bridal shower. I made a purchased at another store. Homegoods is very affordable and they have almost everything for your bathroom, living room, dinning room, kitchen, and more for your home. read more

This was my first of what shall be many visits to this AMAZING store. My experience was great and the selection at your Hastings Ranch location was incredible. The best part of my shopping experience however was a sales associate named Raven. Although she didn't assist me personally, I had the opportunity as I waited in line, to watch AND listen to her interaction with another customer. Her effervescent personality was infectious and thoroughly impressed me. The customer she assisted was as equally impressed as I with her helpful demeanor.
