This review is more about the lack of customer service than the store selections. Home Goods is amazing! I shop at the Great Hills location and the Brodie location often. While their selections and prices are great the customer service at the Brodie location is horrible! On several different occasions the employees have been very unfriendly and act like it's a huge pain to help the customer. A few examples: If you are interested in purchasing a rug an employee has to get it down for you. They will make you wait 20 minutes plus just to get someone over there, then they act so put out to assist you. I had several large items and asked for help loading it in my car. I was told there was't anyone to help me out, but I could pull my car up to the loading dock area and load it myself from there. Really, after I just spent over $1,000 in this store for the second time this month I can't even get someone to help me load it? Not to mention making me and another customer wait more than 20 mins just to get a rug down for us. While this location has a great selection I would recommend shopping at the Great Hills location where the employees are more than happy to assist you. read more

I absolutely love Home Goods. I'm a fan of Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxxs but this is like the mother load of all these stores. I found some great buys here and as someone that loves interior decorating its a great place to search for those missing pieces! read more

I am a deal shopper for sure! If I can get the same item for almost half the price, than I will do a bit of searching for it! I feel that HomeGoods is still a bargain type shop but its more on the high end items for sure. It like the Neiman Marcus for home goods. They do offer some more luxery, high quality items than what Tj Maxx and Ross has available but sometimes they are just too expensive. Grant they do have sone beautiful furniture! There are some pieces that I would love to have in my own but I still can not afford a $300-$500 dresser or chair. As much as I would love to grab your credit card and run with it, I can not afford that either. The quality of their items are great. The other day, I was in there and I found a Kitchen Aid mixer that was half the price of the regular retail stores but something I unfortunently can not afford. They do carry some beautiful China and kitchen ware. Its like shopping like Martha Stewart but not being her. The store is great for a Mother and Daughter weekend shopping. For me I love their wordly sections and it just makes me excited to shop for things in that area. The store has been pretty organized and extremely clean. I've never had to actually dig through items like I do at Ross. The store is a bit expensive but there are some good things to find but a lot of it might be over the budget. read more

First time in here...formerly Circuit City!! Nice big place to shop to find pretty much whatever you can or want, if they have it, to add a lil pizzazz to your home or wherever you may reside. This place is super clean and everything looks very organized. I was in search of a small table to put on my patio and compliment my chairs. Just so happens, I found the perfect lil table that I quickly grabbed, because I only saw this one...maybe the last one. I do think that some of the items there are a little overpriced..hence, little table, but whatever the case, I still snatched it up. I'll be back in the near future to pick up a few more things, all in all, a good place to shop. read more

I'm a pretty big fan of this location. I just relocated and needed a certain number of curtain panels for my main room... Four sets to be exact.... How lucky was I to find just what I needed there. Now this is strictly on the customer service that I received over the phone yesterday. I will update once I call there cooperate office, if I finally received that number from the store manager. My daughter has been looking at these items that she found online from a photo shoot and I finally tracked them down to HomeGoods. When I called this store, mind you I have NEVER been to a HomeGoods store in my life, I was immediately given the runaround. The poor youngster on the phone didn't know how to talk to someone on the phone if his life depended on it. One comment that he gave me was that HomeGoods didn't even have a corporate store. Now, I wasn't born yesterday but I was born the day before and most large retail chains have a corporate office that has their buyers located at it. This young man had no idea that this even happened this way. Then when I called back after getting the number for their cooperate office as 800-614-HOME yes he gave me that number. I called it and it is to find the HomeGoods store closest to me (REALLY) I just called to store closest to me. After talking to the person that answered the phone and leaving me on the phone for more than 5 minutes to give me an incorrect number why would I call another store (closest to me). So I called back and got someone that answered the phone - "hello (no name of the store) you need to hold and you can't walk out of the store with that ma'am" I just started laughing". She then tells me "can you hold" I said well I guess so, If I'm calling HomeGoods :). She gets back on the phone and I immediately ask for the manager of the store. She gets on with her perky self. I tell her what I am looking for and she proceeds to tell me that HomeGoods does not purchase items like any other retail store (HUH). So, I just ask once again for the corporate number. She said that she has never called corporate and will have to look up the number. *wow* a manager of the store never talking to corporate is amazing. She finally gave me the number of 508-390-1000. So wish me luck on finding someone with some intelligence at the corporate office. read more

I bought a teapot from this store and this teapot (the picture is enclosed) ruined my summer due to lack of quality. One morning, when I wanted to make tea, I poured the teapot that was in room temperature with boiled water and suddenly the bottom of the teapot came out (it broke in half) and boiled water went through my thigh. After that I immediately went to emergency room of a hospital. The doctors diagnosed it as second degree burn and I had to stay at home for about 15 days!! During this time my husband talked with HomeGoods several times and they referred us to the "main" vendor whose insurance company was the Zurich American Insurance Company. We talked to this insurance company for about one month. They got all the information including when, how, and why it happened. After one month, they passed us with another insurance company called The Hartford. It took more than 4 month for this company to process our case! At the end, they contacted me and said it wasn't our fault maybe the teapot got the problem during transportation!! They accepted no responsibility for this. During these 6 months, not only they did not compensate the expenses that we had because of this incident, they wasted so much of our time and they even did not apologize for this. The place of burned area will stay on my thigh for ever. This is a shame for this company who does not care about their customers at all. The only thing they care is MONEY! I will never ever come back to any HomeGoods store. read more

I enjoy coming here quite often. A lot of fun things to look through, and wonderful accessories and decorating things for the upcoming holidays and Christmas. It can get pretty crowded, so I always like going first thing in the morning. I wish the store was bigger. There pet selection is a pretty good size. One thing I do not like, is looking through the clearance items, and finding broken items, stained sheets, or one pillow case or one napkin with clearance sticker that are still trying to be sold. I feel those items should be given away or thrown out in the garbage, and make space for better items. This happens all the time. The store is usually kept up with, and I know it can be difficult to keep up with everything, especially when people move things from one area, and decide they don't want, and place it somewhere else. The location is pretty convenient, as I enjoy my walk from here to TJ Maxx, and vice versa. read more

A brief commentary on policy and ethics. My wife and I went to return a soap dispenser. (we purchased four of them) one of which began to rust as the chrome finish began to fail. Mind you this is inside my home. I admit, I did not have the receipt, but the home goods tag was still on the bottom, with the sku and price still very clear and easy to read. I was simply seeking a store credit. This year, alone, we have spent hundreds of dollars here. (decorating a new home, you see) My wife even brought her sister and mom there, when they visited from El Paso. We are actually good customers. The cashier was rude. She told me that the return was impossible and not allowed. "the item didn't show in the system" All in all complete bullshit. BTW the item was all of $7.99. We were making the return on principal as the item was obviously defective and they should really know about it.....I am guessing that it cost them $3 to $4 bucks wholesale. So for $3 HomeGoods lost the sale for the day: as we obviously didn't buy the items that we intended to and further they trashed our future buying as well. (I didn't mention that my wife and I are decor junkies) I did not bring this item in for a windfall cash return......I would say that the return means nothing to me in terms of money, but in principal it means everything. In a heated moment, I debated hurling the item against the glass doors that front the store. (not really the right thing to do, but I thought about it) So here is the deal HomeGoods. You lose. In the coming year you will receive none of my money. I will make sure that others hear of your "policy" I hope this review costs you some sales. It is expensive to attract new customers and very costly to lose a good one. In the end you are only as good as your ethics and obviously HomeGoods is flying the middle finger to it's customers. While I am generally a huge fan of HomeGoods/TJ Maxx/Marshalls, I'm afraid I had a very bad experience at the Brodie Lane store today. I purchased a lamp last Saturday which spontaneously cracked and then broke (at 5:00 am, in fact!) 5 days later. I took it back to the store that Friday and admitted I no longer had the receipt nor the tag. After all, I had been using the lamp on my bedside table. I merely asked for store credit for a product which hadn't lasted a week. The store manager, Brandon, said he would find my transaction in their system and that I should return the next day. So, I did. When I arrived on Saturday Brandon said he'd found my transaction and that it did include the purchase of a lamp. However, he said neither he nor I could prove it was THAT lamp. What good is a SKU if it doesn't identify a particular product I ask you? At any rate, he implied I was attempting to return some different [now broken] lamp. I showed him a text stream where I'd taken a picture of that cute lamp and sent it to my daughters, dated the previous Saturday. No dice. Still implied the lamp on the receipt he found might not be the same lamp in the picture I'd sent my children. Really dude? At the end of the transaction, I was made to feel as if I were trying to get away with something. I got no store credit for the $40 lamp, and I won't be back. Not that they need my money. However, I intend to tell friends and acquaintances. Very few retailers don't have a store credit policy when customers don't have receipts. read more

I am a frequent visitor of Home Goods as we operate a staging business. I must say...this place is like heaven for anyone into interior design or decorating! Great prices & tons of variety with new shipments seemingly several times a week! The staff is always attentive & available. Most specifically a woman named Laverne...who not only knows her stuff but she is just a total doll & goes above & beyond to help! Highly recommend. I came here to return a pillow that didn't quite match my home. I then went browsing around to find some new decor. Some things are just total crap that will fall apart guaranteed after you bring it home. My favorite section is the lamp aisle(s). They have many cool lamps in different styles. Some just reek of Chinese mass production, others seem like genuinely good looking items. Unfortunately, most decor falls into the former category. I'm talking plastic seashell soap dispensers, boxes with paper coverings that say "Paris, Tokyo, Berlin, Dallas". Tacky travel and seashore themes. Abstract wall art hangings. Plastic strawberry slicers and dog treats that look a year old. Do go often to check out ther selection, as it changes often. read more

I've been to Homegoods in Houston and could spend days looking through all the neat stuff. I was so excited to hear when they opened one in Austin. To my surprise when I entered the store it was such a huge disappointment. The shelves were bare and it appeared the leftovers of the leftovers were stocked on the shelves. Why would they even open a store here if they didn't intend on giving us the variety like other cities have? Disappointing! read more
