The Audio Nerd is one of the best record stores I've been to. Not it's a bit of a drive from me and…read moreso I can never visit as often as I'd like to, but I have never had a bad experience. The owner is very passionate about music and you can tell it from talking to him. He is friendly, was chatting with all the different customers about what they picked, and even gives good suggestions! I bought a record from a band I had never heard of before (Fox Medicine). They were in the metal section but it was cute and bright pink. I looked them up quickly and listened to a couple songs and told myself I had to get that record. The owner was chatting with me about if I liked them or not and I was honest about literally just discovering them. He gave me one of their posters free of charge! They had just performed at his store and so he had a few left. I didn't realize he was giving it to me until we were leaving, I thought he was just showing me the poster. That absolutely made my day once I realized he was just giving it to me. The variety in this store is amazing with loads of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and even music equipment! Prices are very fair, and everything is properly labeled. Instead of me having to get my hopes up inspect the record, the front usually says the condition, pressing, if it's colored, etc. I don't have to waste my time inspecting it myself, as the staff has already done the leg work. They even have a bargain bin (wall) with great deals! Down on the floor was a box that had cheap project vinyl too. When I worked at a record store I remember teachers coming in looking for the cheapest ones they could find for a various lessons they had coming up. I'm glad The Audio Nerd has a box for people like them. The store is a little bit cramped with how small it is and with how much product they carry, but it is such a gem and so fun to flip through. You can spend an hour or two easily in there despite it being a small store. Live shows even happen here! They move some of the tables out and put a band in there. Shout out Hayden for always promoting upcoming shows there! And as if this place couldn't get any cooler, they also do punch cards too... Who has ever heard of a record store doing a punch card before? Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a cool new record store, The Audio Nerd is a great place to check out.

I ended up finding 3 records to purchase. Got home & 2 of them are so warped they're garbage! Won't be back to this dump

How happy you are with some contractor is sometimes not defined by what they did well but defined…read moreby how badly they messed up. While I appreciated his input during the design phase and his work ethics, the mess on a couple of camera installs has left a completely bad taste. When the pre-wiring was done for the security camera, I don't know why the pre-wire had to be right next to the light. Jacob apparently thought that it was going be a sconce - but communication is important. Don't assume - if not sure, ask. So his pre-wiring would be fine if it was a sconce but definitely not OK for the flood light. Even after that happened, I knew that there is no way the camera would fit. And I told him that it would be OK to have the wire come down and then mount the camera below the light. I was really surprised when he told me that he was able to fit the camera and the light. When I checked later, I was shocked at what was done. Not only the floodlight jammed into the camera doesn't look nice, it also cuts off all the light to that side of the house. When I mentioned this issue, he offered to fix it but at this point I don't know how one fixes this since there are additional holes drilled into the siding and the rock that would be visible to make the thing even worst. I certainly did not expect this level of goof up when you pay a professional to do a job. One other thing to add is that when the pre-wiring was done, he kept talking about using toning to figure out the location. Fortunately, I had taken pictures to help with that - otherwise I think he would be spending a lot more time to figure out the speaker locations. This was my time getting a home built - so I did not know what to expect but I would that a professional would know to take some good pictures/measurements so that the finish phase is easier.

How lucky can you get? not very when it comes to my audio system, obvious. last month it was the…read moretube amp that went out and had to go to syracuse to get itself fixed. this month i finally after about 7 weeks' wait retrieved a speaker that i had blown out the tweeter and had to take to this place to get fixed. again, can't just dig your screwdriver out of mister fixit's closet and start finding out what it is you knew you couldn't do anything about anyway the moment it was clear no sound was happening at the top end. this particular speaker has a history with this problem as it's the third time i've been to this shop to fix a fried tweeter... at $1000 per. that makes this a VERY pricey speaker considering the pair cost about $18k in the first place. to add insult to financial injury i asked the technician what was happening only to find out that this particular design is in his opinion too delicate (you're telling me!) and doesn't do well reproducing distorted music played at very high volume, such as garbled noisy raw guitar sounds. that's kinda unfortunate because most of the music i listen to is exactly that. so all things considered, these are actually very sturdy speakers given the abuse i've been putting them through. so to get down to it, this place is the only place near the bay area you'll want to take your pricey electronic hardware to get fixed. sending these speakers off to a place like syracuse just doesn't work given they weigh about 80 lbs each. and go anywhere else that isn't a factory authorized dealer, your warranty is void. if the retail side of this business were a car dealership, the showroom would be filled with high end models of ferraris and porsches, not that this means they sell the very very best you can buy because to hear a lamborghini or bentley you basically go to wherever it is that they make the unit, which cost 6 figures apiece and if you're able to go there you don't even know what yelp is much less read a review written by a nom de plume like mr badhabits. as for paradyme's repair service, they know what they're doing and while the work they do requires considerable skill, these guys don't add much to the cost of the parts for putting things back together. highly recommended if you need this kind of work done, for which you have my sincere condolences. just remember you got yourself into this game by developing a taste for this kind of music at max volume when you thought you would be 22 forever, that is if you even thought about such things back then. i didn't either.
