They deleted my review on Google...paid invoice seen below...don't trust these guys, they must pay to have bad reviews removed... 1 star for quality of work. I had work done by Home Insulation Experts just before Summer of 2023. The sales pitch by John was great. He explained exactly how he was going to try to improve my cape cod style house's insulation, specifically in the attic area. Here is the scope of work, word for word from the paid invoice: "Make an opening in the attic peak/ceiling, Air seal and blow in 790 sq/f of R49 cellulose insulation in the peak floor and slopes (once done close the opening with sheet rock and rough spackle only, no paint). Install 410 sq/f of R13 faced fiberglass batt insulation on the 4 crawl space knee walls (2 we will need to make openings). Drill holes into the 4 crawl space floors and blow in 400 sq/f cellulose insulation, once done seal the holes with wood plugs. Install a 2X3 frame in both sliding crawl spaces doors and fix inside 2" foam board insulation." After the work was done there was ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in the Summer or the Winter. I decided to give the insulation idea another shot, but this time I went with another contractor. The new contractor I started working with in early May 2024, when he began the job, explained to me that the knees walls were not sealed and that no cellulose had been blown into the crawl space floors (basically he told me that almost all the work that was done by Home Insulation Experts was providing no value). The insulation was basically sitting on top of the floor in the crawl spaces which provided no insulation help. He also showed me that 3 of my AC ducts were completely disconnected, which was something I suspected occurred while they were doing the job, but wasn't able to prove until the crawl spaces were re-opened. The contractor who just performed the work for me before the Summer of 2024, and did the job the right way by sealing the knee walls and drilling and spraying in cellulose below the floor board cost about the same out of pocket for me (About $4000) as home insulation experts BUT THIS TIME THE IMPROVEMENTS WERE INCREDIBLE. My AC no longer struggles to keep up with the rising temperatures (as proven during the recent heat wave this June). This was something that was a constant source of stress. Also, based on my smart meter usage, my energy usage (based on the same temperatures last year vs. this year as measured so far this summer vs. last summer) are down 25% during the mid 90 degree temperatures. Basically I did an apples to apples comparison based on temperature. Last thing I want to mention. I did reach out to John to see if he could do the right thing and at least compensate me for the work that I was contracted with him for not getting done, but he basically said this is off the table. He said "I will come and fix the job." My response was "You didn't do it right the first time, so why would I just repeat that experience again." He wanted me to drop my current contractor and let him fix the issues instead. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CHECK THE WORK WHEN IT WAS DONE LAST SUMMER? I saw that as an insincere gesture after I had caught his company in a lie (To John's defense, he never showed up again so he wouldn't know if the job was done right or wrong). I hope this helps anyone looking to do a similar project. My suggestion is, hire a company where the person making promises (be it the sales person or owner) shows up when the real work begins. The owner of the recent company I used was actively involved and serious about quality. Make sure you make this a priority. read more

I am on the fence about this company. I do not know how the insulation works or how it will perform in the winter. The people are very nice but there is a huge gap on what is communicated in advance and the job performed. They leave you thinking that there will be minimal disruption and that it is "a quick and easy job needing afterwards just touching up the walls that they will leave spackled". DO NOT BELIEVE it. They also say they will access from outside except where there not possible (in our case a stone facade. LIE! I did not stay watching over their necks neither babysat the team. I trusted them. End result, 3 floors, every single room ended up with 5" holes every 1', even the ceiling in one room. Some rooms even double holes every 1'. (Pics) One side they forgot to do so came back a few days later and after we complained they did it from outside. It was like nobody has been here, no dust, no fluff, no holes, no spackling, filling, sanding etc. Meaning, accessing from the outside was perfectly doable). They obviously did not bother accessing from the outside although we did mention the siding will be changed and we preferred that way. From a mess, hassle and a cost perspective, we are 3 times more than anticipated based on what was agreed -given that 3 out of four sides are siding and one is stone. To me, the customer, it seems just another contractor taking a shortcut, making it easy to finish off and move to the next project, while leaving the customer to deal with the aftermath (hundreds of $ just for paint, for dry cleaning the drapes, for general cleaning since literally everything (!)is covered by some grey fluff!! Whichever way they covered things their fluff is on carpets, vents, ceilings, blankets, blinds etc etc. Before we even start painting the whole house needs to be dusted - otherwise the fluff sticks on the paint and makes a dirty mess plus it gets encapsulated in the paint and it's disgusting. It's the classic easy sell -I call it the Mediterranean method :"straight forward, easy, no mess job, throw in also a freebie "will also do the attic at no cost" add a nice smiley face and the victim is wrapped up. Don't be a victim too. Do budget for many many work hours, major living disruption (office accessibility, kids sleeping routine etc etc), major deep cleaning from ceilings to carpets to soft furnishings and blankets, dry cleaning, $ for paint (plus a handyman for many days) per room (esp custom colors) and tons of stress for the whole family. This is just a heads up. PS. One of the managers did offer to pay for dry cleaning the curtains and also left us their scaffolding to use for repainting a cathedral ceiling, which was a nice gesture. What could improve? Transparency in order to be able to make an informed decision as to if and when to proceed with the project. Also a business never thrived long term by taking shortcuts. The 2 stars are because they all seemed like nice people not for the job. Sorry guys, you will not be getting our recommendation to our local residents groups. read more

I needed the insulation upgraded in my attic (old R30 removed) along with some remediation for inflow of air and moisture. Their approach to improving my comfort and solving the air and moisture issue was far more thoughtful than the other quotes. Additionally, John informed me of opportunities to have some of the costs covered by current rebates. The crew did a great job and was very polite. Jamal kept me informed of progress and insured that my house was cleaned up at the end of each day (This was a 2 day project). I am very satisfied with the end result. I want to preface this by saying this rating is based solely on their sales tactics than their work. I did not proceed with work because my condo association has informed me that the attic, even though solely accessed by my unit, is part of "common space" and cannot be modified, much to my dismay. Before I knew this, I had quartz come out to give me a quote on sealing my attic from neighboring cooking smells. They were pleasant on the phone and I was able to get an appointment quickly. The technician was on time and quick and a nice guy. What irritates me, and why it gets a 1 star review, is that after the visit they DO NOT leave you alone. I was emailed a quote and did not respond since I was busy. I then was called soon after asking when I would schedule. I missed the call and got a voicemail. I called back and told the gentleman I wasn't ready to move forward and I would call to let them know if/when (was waiting on a response from the association). This then prompted an email from them last week asking when I would move forward, to which I replied that I wouldn't because of issues with the association. They called me again! There is a line between following up on your sales targets once and being an over aggressive sales person and that line was crossed. Ashley, if you're reading this, please stop contacting me! It's not that I don't want to use you guys, it's that I CANNOT use you (or any other company for that matter) so it is 100% beyond my control unfortunately. I can tell you that even if I could move forward in an alternate universe, they lost me as a customer because of this constant harassment. My roof is leaking almost two years now after Dino, the owner, replaced my roof. I have contacted him multiple times since July 4th weekend. He keeps using a family death excuse. Josh and his team did a great job at a reasonable price. Super nice guy to work with, and it's a family run business that really cares about doing a good job. My attic and crawl space were cleaned of debris, old & useless insulation and rodent droppings, gaps were filled and new insulation was installed. It looks a million times better than it did, and I need that so I can pass inspection when I sell the house. We had some scheduling conflicts but it all worked out in the end. Another job on the same day was problematic and caused a delay with my job. Josh was very apologetic and we worked out a discount that made me happy. Clean up was superb. I'm not exaggerating; this was by far the best clean up job post-service I have ever encountered (and I'm including multiple contractor jobs, HVAC install, house painting, new construction, etc), the place was spotless when they left. read more

Devin came to our house and our first impression was a good one. He was thorough in his assessment of our needs to increase the amount of insulation required to help keep us warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. After agreeing to a project price we approved the installation. On the day of install the crew of four, led by Jake, showed up at the time they said. Covered the work area in plastic and began to work. 6 hours later and being short a small amount of cellulose which they ran back to their warehouse to pick up, they completed the job, cleaned up and left our house as they found it. Their was a small issue with adding extra insulation over the master shower which has always been cold in the past. I called Devin and with no questions asked, is coming back tomorrow to add more cellulose. We are very pleased with the professionalism, prompt attention to issues, along with the clean, expeditious, courteous work done by the crews. He is extremely thorough and knowledgeable, and offered solutions that other companies didn't even mention. His crew is neat and very clean, and worked all day to finish. My home was built in 1954, as a summer retreat, and had no insulation. Since I live at the shore, you can imagine how cold we were during the winter months. The crew blew cellulose into the attic (after cleaning out ALL of the old partially scattered, dirty insulation, and sanitizing!) after building me a storage area. They did the same for the north and south walls, and used spray foam for the crawlspace. I can already feel the difference! These guys are awesome! read more

Like many others, I had a great experience with Quartz Solutions. I was paying an inordinate amount for heating every winter, so I decided to improve the insulation in our home a few weeks ago. I received three quotes for the insulation project, one of which was from Quartz Solutions. Their pricing was very fair, but what really won me over was the dialogue I had with Josh Gill throughout the process. Josh was very open to accommodating my requests on the project even when he disagreed with me. Case in point - I wanted fiberglass batt insulation from a particular manufacturer as the primary insulation material and a specific type of spray foam as the sealant. Josh's response was that this was my house and that he would customize the project to make sure I was comfortable with it, even though he considered cellulose to be a superior insulation material. Josh kept his word. On the day of the project, the crew arrived (seven men in all). All of the crewmembers were very professional and worked tirelessly throughout the day installing fiberglass batts inside the attic. The entire project, which consisted of replacing and adding to the insulation in the attic and blowing in insulation into the garage ceiling, was completed in a day. Crewmembers worked into the night to get the job done, and the supervisor kept me informed of the progress of the project throughout the day. As with Josh, the supervisor of the crew was also very open to accommodating my requests for how the catwalk in the attic should be constructed and how to vent out one of the bathroom exhaust hoses. Boy I'll tell you what, life can be tricky sometimes. Like even remembering you have an attic. My house happens to be a split-level so I have 3 attics. That's right, three giant (1480 sq ft) attics. After two years of living in this house I decided to get quotes to have a professional take a look. Quartz was the first company to respond. Josh, one of the owners. No questions, no hassles, just a "when can we meet". Josh himself came over to do the estimation, crawling into each tight, dusty space collecting the data he needed to give me an honest evaluation. His civility and manners are only surpassed by his experience and knowledge. He proceeded to sit me down at my dinner table and explain to me every last detail of how his process worked until I was satisfied. He showed me his normal price and IMMEDIATELY gave me a break for being a disabled veteran. Great salesman, and they did what they promised. The room is now much warmer than it was, and I think the pipes won't freeze this winter. They lost a star because the workmen came late, which was a problem for me as it is not where I live. Then they stayed late, and I was told they looked like they were in hurry at the end, which makes me nervous the job may not have been completed as well as it could have been. But of course, with workmen, you never know until the thing fails, which could be years away. read more

We bought our house a couple of years ago. Very quickly we found that the attic insulation is not adequate. It looks like nobody took care of it for decades. I started looking for somebody who could help with adding extra R30 value to the existing insulation which settled down significantly. It was not easy to find anybody this season. Sometimes prices were too high, sometimes I was asked for 50% of price upfront (sounded like a scam). Other companies asked to wait for six-ten weeks. With Quartz Solutions we quickly negotiated terms of contract. Then they arrived on time on the date we agreed. They covered and sealed all light fixtures and other big items in the attic with foam boards and foam spray. The preparation part took more than three hours and was finished very well done. I called and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Half hour into my scheduled appointment time someone from their office calls and said they need to reschedule for another day. I rescheduled for the following Monday and this time it was a No call/ No Show. I called Josh to find out what was going on. He said he will get back to me to find out where his Tech is located. Half hour later still no call from Josh. It was now well outside of my appointment window. This has been a major inconvenience for my tenant and my staff.
