From the initial call with Casey to arrange an in-home estimate through the follow-up review with Alex, working with Master Attic was a dream from start to finish. Alex worked with us to set expectations on what needed to be done and Jose and his team came a few days later to do the work. They sent us many pictures so we could see what had been done in a 67 year old attic as well as working on the outside of the house to set down mesh to try to block where the squirrels were entering the house. Jose's team was very careful to put down plastic everywhere in the house to ensure it was kept clean. The only hiccup that needed to be addressed was that the crew needed to be reminded to be careful outside with the patio and the garden/plants. In addition, Jose had to be reminded to clean up outside on the patio as part of the job completion and his team left it to him to clean it alone. I am sure that won't happen again in the future. I paid close to 10,000 dollars for removal and installation of insulation from my attic and basement, as well as cleanup and removal of mice droppings from attic/basement, and rodent proofing. The issues I have are with the cleanup and rodent proofing services. There were multiple rodent entry points that were missed in the basement. I had plug up myself after the crew left. In addition, there were TONS of mice droppings left behind in the basement. It was almost as if NOTHING was done in the basement other than swapping out the insulation. There were mice droppings stuck all over the new insulation that the crew had put in when I removed it to plug up another missed entry point. I had to clean up and remove all of the mice droppings myself. So as I said before, I did not have a problem with the installation of the insulation. The company, however, did do a terrible job with respect to rodent dropping cleanup and rodent proofing. The sales rep that came to the house made it seem like every square inch of the basement and attic would be meticulously inspected and "rodent proofed." Well, the pictures don't lie. They should not advertise themselves as rodent cleanup and rodent proofing company, because they certainly do an awful job at it. I do not expect perfection. But I certainly expected more after paying 10K and being told what I was told. I will never hire them for any other projects. read more

He reviewed our attic and took the time to break down the pros and cons of options available to us. He even able scheduled our installation a week earlier to help out with getting our attic installation redone before a vacation. I called MA on Friday, Steve Massre was the estimator who came to my home, evaluated my needs and gave me an estimate of services needed and cost. The workmen arrived on time this morning, finished several hours later. Was a small issue with vent cover, Steve bought a new cover and brought it over for installation. Work area clean and tidy before Master Attic crew left. This was done to evict resident attic raccoons, seal the holes, get rid of what was left of my insulation replaced with new high quality batt insulation and sanitized with 100% bleach solution. 5 Star white glove treatment! read more

UPDATE: shortly after my review, one of the owners, Dave, reached out to me. He was very apologetic for the experience and stated that this sort of thing doesn't happen- which I believed because I wouldn't have hired Master Attic to begin with if i wasn't confident in their reputation. Long story short, Dave drove up with two of his guys and they went back into the crawl space to spray the disinfectant. He also offered to take care of the attic floor boards free of charge. I declined that offer so Dave offered a partial refund for that part of the service. I appreciate Dave for trying to make this right. How a company responds to issues like this is very important and I felt that Dave took the necessary steps to make sure I was satisfied. When it came time to do the attic, my sister recommended the Master Attic team (esp David & Carlos!). Right from go, I knew this was the right decision. First of all, the communication was so clear and professional. I didn't feel like I was being talked down to or talked into something I didn't want, just because I'm a female. Everything they said was going to happen, happened, and in the time-frame we agreed on. When I called to make the appointment, they worked with my schedule, and were able to come in that week. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable with workers being in my house, trailing in dirt or making all kinds of ruckus. First, Anthony came to our house and did an analysis to see what was needed and gave us a detailed breakdown of everything without being aggressive or pushy in sales. We recently used Master Attic to give our attic space a thorough refresh. Over the years there have been a variety of critters Up there due to the area we live in. Glen came out to review our situation and came up with a scope of work that would address our problems. He was thorough, providing pictures of trouble spots he noted during inspection and outlined the process to fix everything up. He presented options for different insulation types to replace what was damaged. He worked with us on price to be competitive with other companies providing similar services. The consultation was painless and straightforward. Carlos, our job's foreman, and his crew completed the job in under one day. I got progress updates as the team worked and my questions were answered patiently and completely. The difference in appearance and odor was unbelievable. The cleaning and sanitizing process that was performed between old insulation removal and new insulation installation made a substantial difference. In the days since our job was completed, our house feels warmer with the heat set at the same temperature. Our house "holds heat" longer with the furnace running less frequently. Mice, flying squirrels, chipmunks and squirrels will all find a way in over time in our area. They create a health hazard and damage insulation which also costs money in additional heating and cooling costs. I wish that we had contacted Master Attic sooner, but I'm glad that we finally did. My wife contacted Alex to set up an appointment & he came out right away. He actually came out July 5th to look at the job. They were able to send a crew out 2) days later because of a last minute opening. Dean's crew came out and knocked the job out while I was traveling for work. I forgot to move several bins out of the way for him to access the one wall in the attic above the garage. This had to be re-insulated because of the temperature difference you would feel going up the stairs going up to the bedrooms. These bins were moved with no complaints and stacked carefully out-of-the-way. He offered me several FaceTime calls to show me the progress of the job as well as a finished view of the project. When I came home I noticed a crack in the ceiling and contacted Alex. He immediately returned my call & didn't dispute our findings and scheduled their report guy to fix the ceiling. Roberto did a phenomenal job fixing the crack & matching the paint at Lowe's. We've already noticed a difference with the temperature in a house where we had to the thermostat set at 68° prior to this work being done and now we have it set at 74° and we are comfortable. Malcolm came out and did an inspection and quoted me a price for a complete crawlspace clean out, to include removal of all debris and insulation. It also included a bleach treatment for $300.00 in the crawlspace/basement. As the workers were leaving (and after I paid them), I didn't smell any bleach and ran out and asked them about the bleach. They said they didn't do it because people were in the house. But the didn't take the price off the bill, so I had one of them suit up and go back in to do it. A couple weeks later, I had to go into the basement and crawlspace and noticed that there was still much debris left behind. There were cinder blocks, pieces of concrete, wood, all types of metal (cast iron, copper, etc.) and insulation still hanging up under the floor. When I called Malcolm, I asked for a 5% discount on what I paid since the clean out was not done completely. He did process this discount. However, my wife and I have since gone down in the crawlspace again as we are doing plumbing work and found more debris. The workers of that company clearly did not care about my job even though I paid good money for the clean out. I really should have asked for 15% discount. If you use this company, do not pay them until a supervisor comes out puts on a suit and goes in the crawlspace and takes pictures of every inch of it and then shows you the pictures. And make sure you get what you paid for as they tried to rip me off the $300.00 for the bleach treatment. read more

Called them up David B. responded pretty much immediately, he came out and thoroughly assessed our situation, gave us a rundown of what needed to be done and a price. Price was well under other competitors and they provided more services than the competitors. We set up a time for the work to be completed, Carlos and the crew showed up at the time they said they would. They were neat, quick and couldn't be more polite and professional. Thoroughly cleaned our entire attic of dirty, soiled insulation and feces as well as our storage.
