Our 25-year old HVAC system was hanging on out of sheer loyalty... but the time had come to bite…read morethe bullet and purchase a new central air system. For those of you that have not priced these things out before, quite a bit has changed over time...like the cost! Also, technology has moved on as well, so it's virtually impossible to replace "just the condenser" without all the additional furnace components...they simply won't work together. We called several HVAC contractors...one of them being the large energy company we all know in this area. They came in and did their inspection and were very professional. But their price was 50% higher than the local competition. Yes you read that right!! I wasn't concerned about the "big guys" doing it right, since they are our current utility firm and we have appliance contracts through them. But in light of these tough economic times, I really wanted to give it to a small business. I just wasn't sure how well they would stand behind their work and whether they would do it right the first time. I did research and found two other options. The one that really stood out was AAA Comfort Air in Cream Ridge, NJ. They had over 95 five-star reviews, and although anyone can fake a review, I still felt compelled to do my due diligence. I set an appointment for Emil (the owner) to come in and assess the situation. He was professional, took his shoes off before entering (not at our request), and clearly laid out what was needed and NOT what was most expensive. As a matter of fact, he recommended options that were less expensive vs. those that would simply feed his wallet without added benefit to us. His demeanor was polite, knowledgeable, and he took the time (over 1-hour) to really explain everything without pushing for the sale. Additionally, there are some unique challenges in our home that require minimal dust due to some family health issues and he offered to put up plastic to separate the rooms to ensure a clean work environment. Well, much to my surprise, Emil, came back with an estimate that was truly outstanding vs. simply "competitive". Likewise, his firm provides a 3-year parts and labor warranty (not an option...he just provides it) along with the condenser manufacturer's 10-year. The others only offered 1-year.... that in of itself really resonated with me! We decided to move forward, and I have to say, we made the right decision. Emil and his team were outstanding. They arrived on time, ready to go, and their work was outstanding. Everything was done in one day, with a clean install and a fully working system. Look, HVAC replacement won't make your home look nicer, but it surely is important. No one wants to spend that kind of money unless they have to. Emil and his team were not only very competitive, but they delivered on their promises and were very customer focused. If you are seriously considering a project like this, you need to consider AAA Comfort air. They deliver on their promises and care about their customers. They go above and beyond and deliver with an eye towards balancing price with efficiency. We highly recommend them and you should absolutely include them in your decision-making process. They truly are "AAA".

He gave me a few options to fix my issue with a most cost effective option. What I appreciated was his willingness to let me watch his work. He walked me through his trouble shooting method. It ended up being a faulty gas valve, which is what I had concluded prior to him showing up. Of course there was a markup on the part but that's to be expected. It's a business and I know I was paying for the convenience of the repair done right and at that time. It took him 2 hours to do the job. This included bringing something to code that my installer (no longer available) had done via a shortcut. All in all, it was a great job that was professionally executed. And my technician was awesome! I highly recommend this company. Also, I believe they are still an independent company and not a subsidiary following a buy out. That's good! Oh, why not 5 stars? Well, I had hoped the invoice would have been below $1000. It's the cost of doing business and unfortunately I was not prepared to shop this one around.

During our most recent system check-up (2022) they replaced a small switch while they were performing the annual service. They charged $300 for the part plus labor (it took 2 minutes), on top of the $160 annual service charge. We later realized the unit was still under warranty yet Indoor Air charged us for the work. It took four conversations to get them to fix their problem and they acted as if they were doing us a favor. One week later they had to come back because system kept shutting off. Apparently the condenser pump wasn't working: would have been nice if they tested it as they should have during our annual checkup. We were quoted $418 to replace it. The pump plugs in and is readily available on Amazon and at Home Depot for $60. We were being overcharged. Won't use them again.

We needed to have a special HVAC inspection to assure ourselves that the furnace did not need to be replaced. Scott examined the equipment, diagnosed the problem, and then did the repair work before we moved in. This included correcting faulty insulation and sealing the ductwork so that the system would reach its optimal efficiency. We have had him return for additional work, including replacing the thermostats and a faulty circuit board, installing clean-out valves for easy maintenance, and even installing two motion sensors (which is usually electrical). Most recently we had a problem with the house humidifier and he came over on a slushy Saturday morning to fix it. He fully explains the work that needs to be done. He provides excellent advice and is always helpful. We have been pleased with all of the work that he has done. During my many years of home ownership, you won't find anyone better. Scott is professional, efficient, reliable, and on top of that, his rates are reasonable. I would recommend him to any of our friends and neighbors.

This recommendation is underpinned by responsiveness, excellent customer service, strong technical ability - and most importantly - a personable, trustworthy, and passionate owner-operator. With the turn of the seasons, our aging furnace wouldn't blow warm air. After researching local HVAC companies via online reviews, we connected with Master Home Touch Service in the Freehold/Manalapan area. The owner, Hovhannes Mirimanyan ("Hov"), was free that day for a service call ($100, but waived for larger projects). We mutually agreed that it was time to replace the 30 year-old furnace. Hov carefully walked us through the issues with our current furnace and air conditioning systems. He then outlined in a "no pressure" presentation several solutions, providing a cost-benefit analysis of each system (G/E, Rheem, Bosch). He showed us photo portfolios of past similar projects. A few days later, a three-person installation crew arrived at our home at 7 AM to perform the removal of the prior HVAC, and install the new system. The installation was completed by lunchtime, with our home left in pristine condition. The next morning, Hov returned to walk us through the details of the installation and how to perform basic maintenance items on the furnace. The Rheem system works great, is quiet - and connected to a smart Honeywell thermostat. The price paid was fair relative to the quality of services rendered. In summary, I highly recommend Master Touch Home Service for residential HVAC projects. They also provide commercial service and selecting plumbing services (e.g., hot water heater replacements).

It has been cold ever since installation so we havent had the full use of the system other than a trial run but at this point I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Master Touch. We have been here over 45 years and have dealt with many contractors. Master Touch gets the highest rating, I highly recommend the company.

I don't know how much the other places would charge, but it seemed like Ecks was probably a better value as he charged about what the other people were going to charge just for the service stop. The first summer living here our air conditioning shut down and the owner from Ecks Air (Mark) came out and said the refrigerant was low and it just needed to be "charged up". This worked fine for the rest of the summer. The following summer our system shut down again and Ecks came out acting clueless and said the system is fine and just needs another charge. I learned later on that at this point Mark from Ecks Air definitely knew something was wrong and was taking the lazy, unethical route out of the situation. The same thing happened the third summer living here and I asked around and learned this is not normal so I asked the owner of Ecks (Mark) some difficult questions that he was not happy to answer. He finally said there must be a leak and unfortunately we're out of warranty at that point in time so he can't replace the unit and if we wanted to replace it, we would have to pay for it ourselves regardless that this was giving us a problem since the first year we moved in. He also said he was going to be a good guy and continue "charging up" the unit free of cost each summer until the day we replace the unit. This summer, which is our 13th year here, he comes out, charges up the unit, and tries to charge me for it. When I question why he's charging me since 10 yrs back he said he would continue "charging up" our unit until we replace it, he said he's been doing us a favor for long enough and it can't continue. I've also recently learned there are environmental safety guidelines against "charging up" a system on a regular basis and it's extremely unethical that Ecks Air was doing this all these years. This man is very unethical and I would never recommend using Ecks Air.
