I contacted AtticCrawl for a free consultation because I thought I had an issue with the ductwork in my upstairs crawl space. I had to put in window units upstairs even though I have central air conditioning, because it was always hot in summers. Ralph came by, looked at the crawl space, and suggested that it was my attic that needed more insulating. I didn't even know I had an attic because the home inspection report said a previous addition upstairs was the attic itself. Ralph was right. He gave me a quote, didn't try to upsell me, and answered other heating and cooling questions I then had. The crew, led by Francisco, were three hardworking and polite guys who neatly cut a small hole in my upstairs ceiling, blew in fiberglass, went into the crawl space, vacuumed it entirely, cleaned the transfer grille that was located at the top of the staircase (bad location), and closed everything back up. If you have uneven temperatures or think you need a new unit, get your attic insulation looked at, even if it's inaccessible to you. Not a DIY job. I would definitely give these guys 5 stars on persistance and customer service. The first time they came out they did a great job in all other aspects of the project besides rodent proofing as I still had a large bird caught in the attic. They came out again but said they didn't see anything. Since then I caught a bat and several mice. They offered to come out again and this time they had two guys spend two hours going back along the roof line and actually found a decent number of holes under the roof line, including one very large one. I'm a little surprised they missed it the first time to be honest since their first attempt seemed thorough but I hope this next try will at least be a better deterrent to the animals trying to find a warm place to hide in the winter. read more

Mark from Attic crawl came did a initial inspection of our attic and space above the ceiling tiles. He was very careful and throughout in his evaluation. Reccomended we get an exterminator and setup a program to trap and or deter critters. We luckily do not have an infestation. I appreciated the honestly. UPDATE: As of November 3, 2022 our house is finally completely cleaned and bat-proofed. A 5 month run-around. To their credit, the associate with whom I spoke and worked, Ryan, DID try to set me up with earlier and earlier dates for service to address the issues. However, it was always last minute (which I understand), but not a possibility with my job to call-out last minute. On the 3rd, a team of 4 guys showed up. Just as they did in May, 2 guys vacuumed the remaining guano from the attic, spray-foamed, and sanitized. The other 2 guys worked on the exterior, using mesh and mortar to seal up any gaps between the soffit and the brick. At the end of the 2 hour job, the lead worker had Ryan on the phone who spoke to me to make sure the job was done and that I was happy. I was. Finally! FINAL NOTE: If you want to spend a lot of money and have a lot of time to waste...use this business. If not, look elsewhere. Do your research. I would stay away from this company. They send a LYING salesperson to your house. I had a squirrel problem and THEY gave me more PROBLEMS! They're really in the business of saling insulation, VERY EXPENSIVE insulation... They NEVER fixed the PROBLEM. They blamed it on roofline/plywood or roofer. However the sale person inspects your attic for 40 minutes, draws a cute plan with a detail list of things they do, BUT DON'T help you! They're full of it! When I complained to BEN the owner, he said"I'm not God..." So he has no control over the squirrels. When they left the next morning the squirrels came back with NO PROBLEM gang of them... They came back with traps, however on their website they say "Traps are not a solution". So now I'm $7000 BROKE and a house full of SQUIRRELS!!!!! FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!!! read more

I had a technician named Eli visit for a quote and he said rodent proofing the house would be wise. He mentioned several spots specifically the points where the roof meets the house on the second floor and the entire front shingle line that is almost 40 feet long. He said there was no rain guard on the front shingle line and that leaves a 1 to 2-inch gap along the front of the house for entry. He said this along with a lot of other areas needed to be sealed off and they would do it for $2400. I knew this was pricey but considering the 40-foot roof line that he said was part of the job the cost along with everything else was reflective of the job. He then said they had a customer cancel the next Tuesday and he needs to schedule a job for his guys unless they will lose money, so I booked that day because of his persistence. I did not think anything of this at the time but realize now I was the last-second chump they will use to avoid losing money on 4 employees' wages for the day. So then 4 employees show up at 9:00 am and are gone before 11:00 am. While they are there they complete the three holes in the attic and this was the only part of the job completed as agreed and correctly. They placed around 10 square feet of mesh, (16sq/ft is $25 at Lowes) used around one can of spray foam, ($10-15 total) and a small amount of concrete mortar repair ($25-40 total) for the entire job. The front roof line was only meshed in two places totaling 4 ft long at the most leaving 75% of it in the same condition even though this was specifically discussed as included in the work at the first meeting and when I paid I asked if they did this and they said yes. Additionally, the work they did was sloppy and rushed, every piece of mesh ends too quickly leaving the same size holes on either end. The spray foam they used in one location is overflowing out of the siding. They meshed one of the two chimneys and left the other. Both brick chimneys where they meet the soffit were also skipped. The motor they added shows no signs of them trying to smooth it out or apply it evenly. When I called to ask if they would come back and finish/fix the job and tell them they didn't do the front roof line as we talked about the technician that visited originally said I was, "penny-pinching" and that I paid the $2500 for them to, "check" the house and only cover anything where necessary. So when he checked and quoted me for a $2500 job that was an estimated price on just in case even though he explained to me the rain guard was not on the entire front of the roof line and the corners of all the roof points are large entry spots for rodents. The final price should be agreed on after the, "check" so it will be reflective of the actual work not what they believe was necessary that day. He also said when I agree to book them I agree to pay their guys for the full day and he said they get in at 5:30 am. So I had to pay for them to start at 5:30 am but to be at my house for 1.5 hours and put up less than $100 worth of material in a rushed sloppy manner. I have attached photos of all the work completed as well as many missed spots. I would highly recommend avoiding this company and finding a contractor who knows how to price jobs. read more

Over the 28 years we've owned our home there had been times we heard noises in the attic. Recently it got much worse finding a dead flying squirrel and a birds nest in a crawl space. We found Atticrawl via a circular called them up, and Mark showed up that day. He showed me several opening my house has had that I was unaware of, and was able to get a team of 6 together led by Marlon to do our large two-attic cleanup in two days. Fast service with friendly staff. A home inspection had found mice droppings and a nest up in our attic. Mike came and offered up replacement insulation, cleaning and sealing of any holes the same day. Luckily they had a cancellation which is why they were able to expedite the work. They were in by 10am and out by about 1pm. They lined our carpet from the front door all the way up to the attic. They vacuumed and cleaned up extremely nicely after they were done. Did a great job! We have a split attic, so basically it was two jobs in one. All the rooms were covered in plastic including the floors and furniture. They allowed me to inspect the work on every step from removal of the old insulation,vacuuming of debris, spraying of the disinfected solution and of course final installation. I found these guys through a mailer that came to my house. I found the reviews on yelp helpful and gave them a ring. The coupon I had for $79 attic cleaning also helped. Ben came on a Sunday, came to the attic, and simply told me it can't be cleaned today for 79. After 60 seconds of sadness and hoping to get things done for cheap, we started reviewing what's going on. My house was built in 1955. I had just recently moved in and during the home inspection the insulation in the attic was a concern. But I couldn't convince the seller to remediate. At the end as the buyer we got other things done, and I knew the day of reckoning for the attic and insulation would come. Ben and I went over the old insulation (wool and paper it seemed) which was decomposing. Pretty much it looked like sawdust and was throughout the attic. He proposed removing it, vacuuming out the stuff left over and finally installing insulation. The price was pretty fair and considering I knew I would have to do it some day, I decided to move forward with it. Two days later Ricardo and his crew came in at 930 and were done by 330. I don't even think they took breaks. They "plasticed off" the house where the industrial vacuum cleaner was going through and dressed in suits like a scene out of breaking bad. They showed me progress each step of the way, including foaming small holes and ensuring little open spaces for vents were secured so no critters would come in( there was rat poo up there from yesteryear) At the end, my attic was clean and properly insulated. My 2 kids popped into the attic also and talked about how clean it was also. I am really happy with the work they did. I also think Ben was straight up with me. I also have a crawlspace and.showed him that for encapsulating it, and he felt it was not needed. I liked his openness there , and that probably helped me move forward on just getting the attic cleaned up and insulated. All in all, it was a job well done. Overall great service and hassle free. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. We heard some noise from our attic and called Atticrawl. Herman came over to check out the situation and gave us an estimate. His estimate was lower than the estimate we got from the main competitor in this area. The whole process was very straight forward and easy - once you agree to let them do it, you set a date, and they come over and do the whole thing in one day. On the day of the appointment, three guys arrived in the morning. They removed all the insulation, did a check around the house, patched up any holes they found in the attic and around the house, and put new insulation into the attic. They were done by mid afternoon. They kept the house clean during the entire process; covering the floors, wearing suits, and protecting my stairs. They use this big vacuum that goes through your house so none of the insulation being removed ever gets exposed in your living space. In addition, there is a 1 yr warranty in case we hear any noise from the attic again or they didn't cover something up. The workers were courteous and professional. My only tip is that if you decide to go with blown in insulation (instead of the pads, which are more expensive), make sure you know what it will be like in your attic. read more

Does your home smell like "Grandmas" house.. Call these guys! I am hard to impress but I can not say enough good things about them and our experience with them. Mark came out for estimate. Estimate was for removal of all blown in and batt (Pink stuff) insulation. Vacuum attic sanitize and replace insulation... Perfectly professional and thorough. Went into our 4' attic, 90+ degrees, took pictures and measurements. Came down and explained the issues and solutions.. Gave me the price.. It's not cheap... But based on the time needed and the job they do, I feel it was VERY much worth the cost!! And no more musty, mildew smell! The day of the work, I got a call 1/2 hour prior to them getting there. Marlon was the man leading this crew. Again.. Nice guy and truly professional.. They showed up and got right to work. They covered all floors and walls on the route they used to get in and out, with plastic. Next, it's right into the attic. Again, 90+ degrees outside. Must have been 120 up there. Other than a short break for lunch, I did not see these guys stop for 7 hours!.. They let me check out work as it progressed. When done, attic fully cleaned vacuumed and sanitized. Any, and all holes were filled with foam insulation. Heavy wire mesh over end vents and attic fan. New baffold's installed. Any duct work that had pulled off was re-installed and secured... As they walked out, they cleaned any little mess that may have popped up. Mark even stepped by to check on the job! Another lie by Atticrawl. If you are even slightly considering using this company to service your attic, think again. I reported to Eli (sales rep) at Atticrawl that all the coolant in my Central AC unit drained out which means one or more of the workers in my attic knocked into a coolant line which drained 100% of the coolant in my unit. Eli gave me a name of a AC person to come look at it. Eli came too. Eli determined that they are not going to cover the damage - not one dime. There are no leaks in my compressor/condensor so the leak is definitely in one of the lines in the attic. The AC was working fine prior to their $12,500 service visit and didn't afterwards.. but it's not their fault, right? Even after saying they were fully insured when he was SELLING me on his service, he will not honor the damage... so now it's time for a lawyer. I specifically did not use any AC person that installed the unit so there was no bias. I only used who Eli recommended to be fair to Atticrawl. DON'T EVER USE ATTICRAWL. Not only are they liars (yes, Eli, remember when you told me as I was giving you the deposit that YOU DIDN'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS?.. then weeks later your office wrote (in writing) that you do take credit cards? ALL YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IS TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY AND LIE. You and your company are why people can't trust companies anymore. All you care about is getting your deposit and getting paid your balance. Nothing else matters to ATTICRAWL. They don't even care if they get trashed in reviews because they already have your money and they just hope the next prospect is not bright enough to check a company's reviews online prior to hiring them. Found Atticrawl through Yelp. This review will be pending an update based on final outcome. I have been hearing squirrels and birds in our attic for three years now. Mike came out to investigate and sure enough it was practically a zoo up there. Birds, baby squirrels. All throughout the attic the insulation had been used by the animals as nesting materials. Basically we had to completely take out all of the insulation and replace it then close up any openings so the squirrels and birds would not come back in. The price was ultimately fair and in line with the market. It was a lotttttt of money because we have a large house. The job took one full day. I left because I have a newborn and did not want her exposed to any dust getting into the air. My husband was pleased with staff and overall job. This review is pending because the squirrels continue to get into the attic. The job is guaranteed for one year so Mike has come on three occasions to work on any possible spaces which are allowing for entry. However, squirrels only mate twice a year and will not be back until May.
