Orkin Pest Control has been the most frustrating, unprofessional, and unresponsive company I've ever dealt with. We've been paying for monthly service, yet the pest problems continue and the service we're supposed to be getting simply doesn't happen. From the start, things were a mess. When we first set up our account, they sent a technician out for an initial visit. He showed up, greeted us with "What's good?" and immediately came off as unprofessional. We explained we wanted a general inspection around the home and some preventative treatment for insects. He flat-out refused and said they don't do that. I asked, "Then what are you here for?" and he sarcastically pointed at a cobweb and said, "Oh, I see one there." At that point, I asked him to leave because he clearly wasn't taking the job seriously and was acting like an entitled fool. I called to complain, and a manager sent out a different technician and this one was more respectful and gave us his personal business card, saying we could call him directly anytime we had issues. But when we actually did call him, he blew us off and told us there was nothing he could do, and to call the office. Of course, the office doesn't answer or return voicemails. Trying to get a same-day appointment which Orkin advertises as something they offer was a complete joke. I was passed from one customer service rep to another in what felt like a game of musical chairs. Each one would type my info into a system and say someone would call me back. Nobody ever did. To make it worse, one of their main numbers has a recorded message saying, "If this is an emergency, call this number." I called that number, and the person who answered said there's no such thing as an emergency line. So why are you telling customers otherwise? Then, a rodent got caught in one of the traps they placed, and when I called to have someone come remove it, I was told they don't offer that service. So I'm paying for pest control, but I'm expected to deal with the pests myself? On top of all that, they double charged me for a service, and the first rep I spoke to tried to brush it off like it wasn't a big deal. I had to demand a refund before anyone actually did anything about it. That's unacceptable. This company is completely disorganized. The technicians are unreliable, the customer service is useless, and the communication is non-existent. They're happy to take your money every month, but when it comes to actually doing their job, they vanish. Orkin is not worth your time or your money. Save yourself the frustration and go with a company that actually cares about its customers and stands by its service.

After several different chats, Chelsea Pet control accommodated me right away and saw me briefly after. We had an exterminator come over and spray the first two times, but the issue still did not seem to go away. Although he was extremely friendly and we loved his personality and kindness, we knew we needed a more advanced technician. We were not satisfied yet, there was definitely a lot of questions left unanswered. I messaged Chelsea Pest Control to request another technician to have another look themselves and see if someone else can figure it out, and then they sent over Sammy. In a matter of MINUTES, Sammy was able to detect the problem and what was causing this infestation! He was confident and diligent, not afraid to get his hands dirty. You can tell he works hard and is extremely determined to finding a solution NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES. He took the extra time to spray our apartment extra, give us a clear explanation on how to stop it, and answered all my questions and concerns confidently and patiently. I decided to look on Yelp, because they have helped me find contractors before. I chose Pest Medics because they responded within a hour. They also (responding through text) told me their range of pricing and could come out the next day. I'm assuming Javan is the owner of the company. Him and another worker came within their window of time. They were very cordial to us as they entered. They listened to my daughter explain the issues she was having. They walked through the house (inside and out) inspecting where the critters could be coming in and out of. They finally found one of the entry points near the roof. They explained about the one way gate like thing they put up to let (we think it was squirrels) out, but could not get back in. My daughter was impressed that there was not cruelty to the animals. She just wanted them out of her house. All in all, it took the a total of 45 minutes to complete the job. Not mentioning the price, they charged the top of the range they gave her. There was no paperwork to show what was done. Just a receipt for the job (on her phone) and a 30 day verbal guarantee for the work they had done. This is were the stars started coming off!! About a week had passed and my daughter was still hearing squirrels in the roof. She called Javan and company to come back out because the problem was still there. They made a appointment to come back two days later with a no show and no call. My daughter call them within a half hour left within that window of time they were suppose to have come out. Javan telling her he got tied up with another job and could they reschedule. He knew he was tied up before that phone call. It is to easy to text or call someone. That is so rude, to waste someone's time....looking for you to come. They did reschedule though. The same thing happened again, only this time he called her when there was only a half hour left with in his scheduled window, saying he needed to reschedule. At this point we felt he had her money, so she goes on the back burner. After a few harsh words, he followed up and showed up soon after. They reinspected her property, sealed in some additional entery points. Later, came back to get their cage and seal in the entry points in the roof. Seems like the problem is solved. I don't like giving bad reviews, but they wasted her time twice. They didn't do a bad job, just be warned if you decided to go with Pest Medics.

All he did was spray some pesticides and barely covered any ground. Bed bugs are a very different pest from any other pest you'll deal with, and he accomplished absolutely nothing for us today. I work remote and planned on working at a coffee shop today, and wasted my time planning around the appointment because we were informed that we would need to vacate our apartment while they did work around our house. So much for that! I would have expected at least SOME effort to inspect our apartment and maybe try and look around for where they might be. Nope! Barely even lifted a finger. His colleague stood outside the house the entire time, and Gary wasn't even willing to touch the mattress. I had to pull it out for him. What kind of exterminator is afraid of getting their hands dirty? It's your job to find bugs and exterminate them. At least pretend you're trying dude. Before he came, he had us empty all of our dressers and put our clothes in airtight bins. I'll admit, that's good advice, but that's something you'd probably read online before dumping money and time on someone like this. So yeah, thanks for regurgitating obvious information to me. This guy didn't even bother looking into any dressers or closely inspect any of our beds. He made absolutely no effort on his part. I ended up finding more bed bugs myself after thoroughly inspecting my roomate's room, and putting actual effort into making sure that we dealt with them the best way we could for the meantime. If you are reading this and you've discovered bed bugs in an early stage and it's not a big infestation yet, I highly recommend that you watch Mark Rober's bed bug video and follow it religiously. Buy bed bug traps for your bed, encase your bed in a high quality bed mattress cover, apply diatomaceous earth powder in a thin layer around your room (please wear a N95 mask and do your best not to inhale any of it), etc. Follow everything in that video before your bed bug problem becomes an infestation. Please watch that video. It will do you justice. If you caught your bed bug problem too late, you'll need a professional. In other words, not this guy. He might have good reviews for other pests, but he has absolutely no idea what he's doing in regards to bed bugs. He's afraid of them. He ain't gonna help you. What caught my attention is that the company does not have you sign any contracts, they come and take care of things that you ask them to take care of. I left a message on Yelp and received a response from Gary in fairly short timeframe. He was at my door steps the following morning and took care of the problem. They drop right on my son's pillow and another one jump on my in-law's face. The technician came on time and exam every corner in our house. After the inspection, the technician went to work on the treatment and spent more than an hour in total. He even check my attic to make sure no signs of spiders or bugs. On the following day, we found not only the spider are almost gone but all crickets went disappeared. The whole house is whisper quiet. Imagine multiple circuits singing in your house calling each other in the middle of night. Another benefit is no more silver fish. Hopefully, the treatment can last for three months.
