We used aptive's pro pest service for a year and got absolutely no value out of it. I shouldn't be surprised because it's a company that gets contracts via door to door cold sales. When I called to cancel service they offered a discount ($40 off our monthly bill) to keep me in the contract, which just tells me they know they're overcharging for their service. They charged me $200 to get out of the contract, which beats paying $1k over the next year and getting absolutely nothing out of it. Scam company. Completely disrespectful of private property. Driver ignored 'No Trespassing' signs and drove around driveway cones set to reinforce 'no trespassing'. In June driver sat on private property and was eating food. Driver was warned in person this was private property, signs pointed out and it was requested to note on file for future drivers. In July, driver disregarded all no trespassing obstacles and turned his truck around on private property. Again, driver was warned in person and a call was made to the company to report. Horrible billing service. They expect everything done on line without a paper invoice. They never sent a physical bill until I got a notice from a collection agency. They texteded way too much about all kinds of things (including the bill) but I thought it was just noise. Rather then send a paper bill or have a service rep talk to me about it, they went straight to a collection agency. I have so many things on auto pay and pre pay when it comes to my yard service. This is unacceptable. Their service was not worth it either given they did not take care of our voles and most of the service people did not know what they are. Use a local person instead. read more

Contractor Alert!!!!! I had a exterminator salesman for Aptive stop at my house last Friday and contracted for dewebbing and spraying for mainly spiders and other pests. Originally he told me they would be by the next day between 6-8 pm. Then I got a text that they could be here at 3 pm if I was home and I agreed. Then they notified me at 4 pm that they could not make it and can reschedule for Tuesday from 5-7 pm. Their technician pulled up in front of my house at approximately 5:30, sat in his truck till 6 then came to my door. He said he would take care of everything. Within 15 minutes he was gone without letting me know he was done. I went out to inspect and hardly any of the webbing was removed as well as any spider eggs. These scammers are a total pain in the ass. EVERY year they canvass door-to-door, without required permit, outside authorized hours, unable to show the photo ID required by the EB Police Dept. Same old phony story - we're doing bug control work for a lot of your neighbors. Pure BS. At 8:45pm on 5/19/22 there was a commotion at our front door. 25-ish white male, skinny, with a purple Aptive polo shirt started his spiel. When I asked if he was a salesman, he was evasive. Asked if he had the required permit to canvass, he said "yes". Asked to see his photo ID, he replied "it's in my truck". Told him he was violating the law, and to leave my property. He refused and got really nasty and I told him I was calling the police. His response - "what are they going to do". I called the police. Scam. Sales guys come door to door and tell you its a one time service. I explicitly told the sales guy I do not want to be in a yearly contract and he assured me that it was just a one time service. After you sign up you are billed every month and told you are locked into a one year contract. You can not cancel after the term in advance, you have to call in to cancel. The sales guys are young guys that just want to sell and don't actually follow company policy as I'm sure that is not how they were trained. Buyer beware. A second issue happened yesterday. I received an email saying that service was completed. I checked my security cameras and no one came to my home. I called in to complain and was escalated to a supervisor who checked our records and saw that the photos the service provider uploaded was not of our house. As a skeptic, I see it as a young guy (sales and service guys are all young guys) who is playing the odds. Does one house in the morning then hangs out all day and uploads the same pictures to all the houses on his route. A lot of people have to work outside the home now so they won't know any better. Hit or miss on the quality of service. All they do is spread products that cost less than $5 and charge $120+ (sometimes they hardly do that). Aptive rescheduled on me for treatments I had planned before gatherings and pushed them out weeks. If you cancel your service before 18 months, they chare you $199 (and your door to door salesman may not disclose this). If you don't pay it, they turn it over to debt collectors that then harass you. All in, just not worth. Hire a real pest control company if you have a problem. read more

WARNING OF FRAUD AND APTIVE CHANGING CONTRACTS WITHOUT CUSTOMER KNOWLEDGE On 12/4 , Aptive serviced my premises as they have been doing since 2017. Shortly thereafter I received a new contract dated 12/4 but fraudulently signed and initialed by my wife. It stated the contract was reviewed and all terms agreed upon. The fact is no one talked to us about the contract or terms, nor did we sign or initial anything. Even though docusign was supposedly used, no notification of documents for review and signature was ever sent. Plus contracts are not being encrypted when sent despite containing sensitive PII data. Since Monday, i have attempted to get an explanation and continue to get the runaround and no one will put me through to senior management saying I'd get called back which never seems to happen. I would encourage everyone to review their contracts, verify signatures and initials and confirm that Aptive didn't create fictitious contracts as they're done with me. Fraudulently signing documents and manipulating terms without customers approval is illegal yet seems to be a policy of Aptive. I have an annual service plan and the technicians are always knowledgeable and helpful. Back in the end of May, sales rep Jonathan Eads, came knocking on my door with another young lady offering services for a $49.99 promotion. NO contracts, NO obligations. I said ok because I had a problem with ants and 3 days later they came and performed the service. It was NOT good as I still has so many ants on my deck. I called Jonathan and he said give it a couple of days. I did so, and still had an issue with dozens of ants on my deck. I called him back and he did NOT pick up his phone. Fast forward to this past Saturday, July 3rd, I got a text message saying "Your Aptive Pest Control appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, Jul 6th" But I never agreed to a contract AT ALL! I called customer service and they told me I would be responsible for $300 cancellation and there was nothing they could do! I was in shock! I NEVER signed up for services, never got a contract or anything! So the lady on the phone said she would send me the contract. So to my surprise, a contract for a year service for mosquitoes (remember I had an issue with ants), and what appears to be my initials and signature. HOWEVER, I've had the same signature since I was 20 and I've NEVER signed that way AND when I initial documents I put a period between my initials, which was not on the document. Not to mention, IT WAS CLEARLY NOT MY HAND WRITING!! Also check the email that Jonathan and the young lady put down...clearly that is NOT my email address. So of course I wouldn't get an email confirmation of this contract they forged my signature into! I messaged Jonathan Eads on Instagram and he replied back with his "new number" that it should not have been a contract and that he would fix it but it hasn't been the case yet. It was either him or fiancée that forged my signature and this must be looked into. He tried to tell me something about Aptive being bought out and how things have been a mess, but I don't believe him. So after finding him on Facebook I see the "young lady" is actually his fiancée and it's her email she put on this forged contract! This company is fraud. They send me contract which I didn't agree with fraudulent signature and initials which I never signed. I told the salesman that I didn't want to sign contract and if they are doing one time service with the discount ed payment then you can spray only one time. He first said no and came back again saying ok will do onetime. But they created fraudulent contact with made up signature and created account to withdraw money from my account automatically. First service they did was barely for 10 min and the guy left never even meeting again after the service. And took money from my checking account. My advice is do not use this service. read more

Several weekends ago someone rang the doorbell and my husband answered it. About 15 minutes later he calls for me to come to the door. It's some guy from Aptive. He gives me a quick rundown of the company and asks if I have any questions. My first question is if I can have some literature to read up, and the second is if this is safe for pets as I have a 16 year old dog. Sales guy whips out his iPad and pulls up the "literature". He literally scrolls through it and then tells me he's glad I asked if it's safe because Aptive prides themselves on the safety of their formula. It didn't smell right so I walked back in the house. Another 15 minutes and hubby comes in and says he signed a contract! Fast forward to the next week when we had our first appointment. I'm not sure exactly what they were supposed to do but whatever it was, it didn't work. Spider webs still all over, ant hills popping up left and right, even ground bee holes opening up under the front bushes. There wasn't ANY difference in the amount of bugs in our yard. Yesterday was another Aptive appointment. I have no idea how often these appointments happen as I told hubby I want nothing to do with this garbage. Anyway, guy rings the bell and asks how the bug situation has been since the last appointment. I tell him there's basically ant conga lines outside and if he looks left or right he will see spider webs. Now this is where I had to laugh... the guy tells me, "oh our first appointment is to OPEN UP THE NESTS (Wtf dude, is this what they told you to say when customers are pissed?) so it's common to see MORE BUGS after the first appointment. This second appointment is to kill them". Really? Now what if I said that I hadn't seen one bug since you last came? You'd be telling me the first appointment kills them all I'm sure. I just started laughing (on the inside) and said, "oh, ok". I'm sitting outside as I write this, watching the ant conga line. They're about to start a game of limbo so I've gotta catch that, but I've gotta say, I chalk this Aptive contract up to one of the stupidest mistakes hubby has ever made. I'm happy to update this if the ants start dropping left and right, but I have a feeling my update will just be pictures of them moving their extended family into our yard. UPDATE! So we literally have ALL the ants in our neighborhood living on our property. Why? Because all my neighbors have real pest control companies spray their lawns, unlike us who still have Aptive. Why do we still have Aptive? Because there's only one time a year you can get rid of them... it's when your yearly contract is up. If you try and cancel any other time they charge you something like $250 for breaking the contract. And being that this is up to the husband to cancel... well, we have them another year. I WILL cancel next summer. In all honesty, we have ants all over the place. We had ants in the house this spring. We have ant hills between the seams on our concrete patio. We have anthills literally all over the lawn. Ive talked to the guy who comes out to spray. T didn't make any difference. Please don't waste your money. I had my routine service last week and the tech sprayed all of my outside windows and made a mess. I had cleaned all windows in early fall. I contacted the company and they offered me a $30 credit. This does not make up for the mess. No other service ever sprayed my windows and I don't think this is the correct use of pesticide. We go locked into a 4 service contract with them at a much higher rate and the first two times they came they said those don't count toward the 4 in our contract so overall we were stuck with paying them WAY more than we had agreed on when we signed up. We followed the cancellation instructions and forgot about it. Out of the clear blue, several months later, we received a collections notice saying we owed them $199 cancellation fee. However, we never even got a bill for this nor were we ever told of this charge otherwise we would have gladly paid it to be rid of these people.
