If there was an award for most unhinged gutter, mine would win (photo attached). Instead of draining a gentle trickle of melting snow, I got an avalanche of ice. I needed this fixed ASAP, so I used the get a quote feature on Yelp and Dan from GNC reached out. I was able to send photos, get a quote, and have him out the next day. Within a few hours, I had a brand new (and larger) gutter installed. So far, no more ice problems. He's a great communicator (love an ETA text), an honest person, and good with gutters. read more

I hired GNC to complete a retaining wall, redo my driveway skirt, repair a step, and finish several other masonry projects. From the beginning, I was impressed by how engaged and knowledgeable the owner was. He took the time to discuss the work, offer recommendations, and explain the best approach for each part of the project. The team was professional, kept the work area clean, and made sure no mess was left behind at the end of each day. They answered all of my questions throughout the project and were honest and transparent about timelines and project completion expectations. While many contractors can perform masonry work, I appreciated that GNC specializes in it. Their expertise was evident in both their craftsmanship and attention to detail. The quality of the finished work was phenomenal, and the results exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend GNC to anyone looking for skilled, reliable masonry professionals who take pride in their work. read more

GNC General Construction fixed a bunch of stuff with my roof -- replaced damaged shingles, fixed my gutters, added ventilation, routed my bathroom vent through my roof instead of just into my attic, and fixed a bunch of leaks caused by all of the snow this past winter. they are one of the easiest contractors to work with I have ever had at my house: responsive, on time, fully prepared with all materials, quick, and cleaned up all detritus after the job was done. work looks excellent, and better yet GNC offers a 7 year warranty if I have any issues. every other roofer I had in tried to upsell the bejesus out of me except for these guys. I will absolutely be using them for future projects & recommend them to anyone looking for roofing assistance. thank you Dan & crew! read more

UPDATE 4/7/2026: Dan Cannizzo said he used a bad concrete mix and he is not responsible for it. He assured me that he will not be doing anything at all to fix it. He was extremely rude and completely unprofessional. This company is a scam. Stay far away. We hired GNC General Construction to pour a new concrete patio and to redo our front steps, which were very uneven. They also replaced our old, rotted support columns. They initially did what I thought was a fantastic job. They work hard and everything went pretty smoothly. Even after the bill was paid, I noticed a minor issue that they came back to resolve very quickly. They gave a 10-year warranty on the patio, which it turns out is useless. Fast forward a few months and after the snow, there are lots of areas where the concrete has started delaminating and coming apart in pieces. I called and initially spoke with Fabio Giordano, who claimed that Dan Cannizzo bought that part of the business and is responsible for fixing it. I then called and spoke with Dan Cannizzo about the problem and he assured me that he'd be in touch in a day or 2 to come and see it. Since that time, he hasn't contacted me or responded to a single call or text. I feel this business is scamming me, since I can't get in touch with anyone to repair the damaged caused by shoddy workmanship. read more

I couldn't be more impressed with the outstanding roofing repair services provided by Dan and his team. They tackled a significant list of problems that had been neglected and performed poorly by the previous roofer. This included installing essential flashing where none existed around the chimney, repairing and re-mortaring, replacing numerous loose and missing bricks, added new shingles flashed various leaky roof vents. They arrived on schedule, kept me informed throughout the day. Pricing was incredibly fair, I can't believe I was almost going to try and tackle this job myself. read more

This past month, I had three sidewalks slabs that needed to be replace due to roots from a tree planted in the township owned section of land in front of the house. GNC came out a day after being contacted and gave a thorough explanation of the costs and process required. More impressively, they were so confident in the quality of work that only a small initial payment was required with the bulk of the payment to be given AFTER all work was completed. They efficiently handled permitting and review with the village and completed the work in two days. New slabs are beautiful and perfectly fitted. I was so impressed and trusting of their work that I am choosing them to remove and replace a new concrete slab floor for a new garage. I would HIGHLY recommend their services. read more

"I recently enlisted the services of Dan and Fabio for a roof and gutter cleaning, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the moment they arrived, their approachability was immediately evident. They took the time to explain the process, and their honesty throughout the entire interaction was truly refreshing - a quality that seems to be increasingly scarce in service providers these days. No last-minute cancellations or unexpected surprises. It's a level of reliability that I've found to be rare in this line of work. Moreover, their knowledge and expertise were apparent throughout the entire process. They didn't just do the job; they explained potential issues and offered preventive measures without trying to create unnecessary problems to inflate the cost. In an industry where trust can be hard to come by, Dan and Fabio stand out for their integrity and genuine dedication to providing excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of roof and gutter maintenance. Having professionals like them in the neighborhood is truly a great asset... read more
