They showed up on time. Fixed it quickly i would definately use them again. Thanks Anthony.

The team quickly responded when I called and scheduled a technician to identify the issue after which it was prompltly resolved. They took great care with floors and the room where they had to work demonstrating great professonalism and attention to customer experience. read more

Although at first Jason seemed to be knowledgeable, he made two attempts to fix our a/c unit and failed to get the job done properly. After trying to get him to return and complete the job, he never returned nor did he return our calls. He just abandoned the job. I would not recommend A DEGREE ABOVE HEATING & COOLING. read more

Our HVAC just randomly died and I was having trouble finding people to come out. Came across the yelp reviews and decided to give them a shot. My call was answered by Cheryl (I believe that was her name...if not I apologize in advance). She was so courteous and helpful. Instead of taking my name and telling me someone will call me back. She actually took the time to walk me through some of the common problems so that I can troubleshoot. Once we figured out that the issue will need professional help she got me on the calendar as soon as possible. I was scheduled with Lou A. He was super communicative prior to the appointment. Once here, he quickly diagnosed that the problem was the capacitor and got the ac working in no time. Despite having a jammed schedule he did not make me feel rushed and answered all my questions. Their fees were fair and not one of those big companies where they will nickel and dime you for every little thing they do. I've used several hvac companies in the past and this has been the best experience thus far. We will look to use these guys for future issues. read more

I used A Degree Above Heating and Cooling about 5 years ago to replace my 2 HVAC systems. Lou A. and his team were punctual, professional, and gave me the best price for both my Trane systems. Fast forward 5+ years later and their level of service has only gotten better. Lou was super patient and friendly answering all my questions. When Lou says his HVAC system were still under warranty, he really meant it. This level of honesty and integrity is unheard of nowadays. Besides his professionalism, Lou is a great guy to talk to as well. When it comes to HVAC installation, maintenance and service, no other company even comes close to Lou and A Degree Above. read more

If you need HVAC services, this is the place. I compared a few for pricing and not only they gave me most reasonable pricing, the team was amazing. Coming in promptly at the scheduled time, and did the job quickly and cleaned up perfectly. I would not hesitate to work with them again in any future projects. read more

The guys did a great job installing the hvac unit. The thing I don't understand and am disappointed in is that they did not ask to replace the flexible duct hoses (the silver tubes that carry the cold air to each room in your home). I replaced them myself a year later and they were all 20-25 years old, deteriorating and had mold throughout them. How did they overlook this important part of my system, I can't understand. read more

This place is a scam. Idk how their reviews are so good?? He charged me $900 for diagnostics/service visit/replacing a part that won't fix the HVAC. HVAC broke down within less than 12 hours. I asked him for a refund but he rejected. AVOID THIS HEADACHE AND A WASTE OF MONEY. They will take advantage of their Yelp reviews and steal your money.... There are so many other reliable technicians out there. Don't fall for the reviews. read more

Once again. Very pleased with the excellent support we received on our AC unit. Lou and Jordan, thank you !!!

I don't typically write reviews, but the team from A Degree Above finished installing two HVAC systems for my house last week. They were excellent, not just for showing patience in working through the million questions I had during the quoting process, but also in showing respect, working according to timelines, and being clean and efficient. Post-installation, they also spent extra time informing me about the new system and working through optimizing the existing baffles which needed tweaking because the new units were so much more efficient. A+. Would recommend and will certainly continue to use the team for my ongoing maintenance. read more

I'm not a good writer but I felt compelled to say something about Lou and his outstanding team. I hired them to install 2 high efficiency ductless air conditioning units in my home and they were simply exceptional. I am personally in the plumbing field and their work was beautiful. But besides that, I really appreciated that they answered the phone, provided an estimate promptly, showed up when they said they would, were polite and took care of my home. It feels like that should be expected, but I guess not from dealing with contractors in general. I left them alone in my home because I had to go to work and when I came home it was cool!! It really sucks to have your air conditioning break , but it's great to have these guys around to fix it. Thank you so very much!!!! read more

My husband and I just got our new AC system installed this week. We got a few estimates but decided to go with A Degree Above because of their reviews and one past experience. I remember Matt Dickson was the technician that serviced our Peerless boiler for the fall maintenance 7 months ago. He was also very professional and kept everything clean when he was finished. For the AC project, we were pleasantly surprised the technicians brought their own tarps and cloth to cover the carpet and stairs. We didn't even have to give any of them our "booties" as they each brought their own. We were also surprised and happy that they sent over 4 technicians (Paul, Nick, Nick S., and Matt). They divided and conquered, working quickly and efficiently. We have had friends who used other contractors, sending only sent 2 people who work the entire day (10+ hours) on the job. Not only is this a waste of the homeowner's time, I'm sure having 2 workers working long hours is a bit overwhelming for them...which will decrease their quality of work. To be honest, we are newer homeowners, and we know little about heating and cooling systems. We honestly do not know whether they did a good job or not (technically speaking)....whether they took shortcuts or not. However, based on their attention to detail for "the little things" (setting down tarps, using booties, cleaning up after the job is done, communicate with us in a professional manner) surpasses our expectations, then their attention to detail for the the actual installation of the compressor and air handler will be the same. After the installation, one of the technician took the time to show my husband the duel safety mechanisms installed at the air handler and how to maintain system efficiency by flushing it via the clean out cap. The technician also helped set up our new Nest Thermostat and inputted their vendor code to activate the Nest warranty. Thanks again for sending a crew of competent professionals. If there are any concerns, we'll definitely contact them and update this review accordingly. read more

Had a great experience with these guys during a routine maintenance call for our central A/C system. In addition to all the usual cleaning and inspecting, Lou (the owner) and his associate actually did some extra work to clean up the ductwork in our attic, which completely fixed the lack of airflow into one of our rooms. They spent over 3 hours doing this work, all for $149 + tax. Would definitely recommend and use again. read more

HVAC busted during a particularly hot week - these guys were booked more than a week out but took our appointment anyway - letting us know if their guys found themselves at a nearby job with some time to spare they'd squeeze me in. That's exactly what happened - they showed up literally one day later and were delightful to deal with. I was lucky - I only needed a new capacitor but they had managed my expectations the whole time that there was potential that it could have been a lot worse. $200 all-in for these guys to show up within 24 hours - diagnose and correct the problem within (not kidding) 30 minutes - frankly I can not recommend them highly enough. Thanks for everything guys. read more

This is a top notch business. They are responsive, professional and reasonable. I would highly recommend them if you are ever in need. We have used them for years and would never go anywhere else for all of our HVAC needs. Thank you you to the entire staff for your outstanding service. read more

Total professionals. The previous company came in when my a/c wouldn't work. I watched them supposedly diagnose the problem. The unit wasn't blowing. So he changed the capacitor (. An $ 8.00 part) for which he charged $279.00. My cousin, an A/C tech said they normally charge around $170. Then the fan worked but wasn't blowing cold. So he said the compressor needed changing (an additional $550.) Now he didn't even hook up gauges to check the Freon level. So I told him to leave. In comes A Degree Above. Lou! He checked the entire system, thermostat, the compressor, and the air handler and of course the Freon level which, it turns out, was low. So he refilled the system and changed my thermostat. He was here at least two hours, wouldn't accept a tip and the entire charge was under $200. These guys are a godsend. Use them, you will not be sorry. Honest, dependable and affordable. When was the last time you could say that about a repair company? Ten stars read more

A Degree Above has been servicing my HVAC unit for many years, passed along by the previous owner. They are very solutions focused to make sure they correctly diagnose and resolve issues to 100% satisfaction. My AC unit wasn't working at the start of summer. They recommended I get a 2nd opinion on their diagnosis so they could be assured it was the right fix. A large, well known national company confirmed the diagnosis, but would be charging 4x what A Degree Above would charge. And were trying to scare me into to purchasing an entire new heat pump system that I don't need. A Degree Above put my mind at ease and said my system is totally fine, I just needed a new electrical board and sensor. This is the only company I will ever use to service my HVAC. read more

We had an issue with a previous company that will remain nameless. They refused to take responsibility for an incomplete/ careless job. They put in a condensate line but left it at the edge inside the attic so the water just dripped down the siding and onto the concrete causing damage (among other issues). I found A Degree Above heating and cooling on yelp with over 80- 5 star reviews. They were polite, knowledgeable, allowed me to ask questions, they took before and after photos (which I now know is a very good sign of a company that stands behind their work), they even brought their own shoe covers with out me asking. Lou, Matt and Sean went above and beyond my expectations. The ladies in the office were also extremely polite and patient and did not rush me at all. Since I had a bad experience with someone else before I had a lot of questions and concerns that everyone I spoke to in the office and at my house were more than happy to answer. I researched other companies and no one impressed me the way a degree above has. We are very thankful they helped fix the mess we were left with. We will definitely be working with them again. read more

A degree above did a great job with my install. I had some issues most of which was due to the small space my unit is in. They came back over and over again until the issue was resolved. No one wants to wake up to no heat in the middle of a cold snap. No one would expect the response I got. Just recently having moved to my condo and not knowing what to do or who to call I found an outdated sticker on the side of my furnace and rolled the dice. Not only did A Degree Above H&C come they were there within an hour and didn't leave until I had heat. I probably didnt need to write a review as I see that they have many good ones. I cant thank them enough for their care and help and especially not making me feel uncomfortable or being taken advantage of which when it comes to needing such services is rare these days. read more

These guys were great. They were able to squeeze us in last minute during the first heatwave of the summer. Matt and Alex came to check our unit. They were nice and knowledgeable. It costs $99 +tax for a diagnostic, but they were able to get it running again. Thankfully for now it was an easy fix. I'm glad I called A Degree Above. read more

A couple months ago, upon the discovery of my furnace missing a filter slot, I scrambled high and low to find someone in Bergen county to fix this. I was not having much luck as some had long waiting lists and some don't handle stuff like this. Luckily I came across A Degree Above through yelp(where else?) Lou and Danny were great, they dropped in that day that worked for me to take a look at it even though they were booked that day. They took their time explaining the many options, how the airducts worked and even pointed out how so some pipes of the furnace was not right but it's a easy fix. They were not pushy at all and took extreme care in taking down or measurements. They then told us they'll send us an estimate in a few days after looking into the best option for us. Danny sent our quote and proposal the next business day. Their prices were pretty reasonable and they even told us we didn't have to go with the most expensive option. 2weeks later, they came in, got the job done (neat and quick)and fixed the pipes free. I am happy with their service and I feel even happier now breathing dust free air! read more

A Degree Above Heating & Cooling - Our shiny new filter slot - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Saddle Brook, New Jersey

This place is absolutely disrespectful, unprofessional and disgusting. I called weeks ago and made an appointment with Anthony the so-called son of the owner, few days later something more important happened to me and my family that I had to cancel and reschedule, so I called as the proper thing to do I canceled my appointment, a week after that I called to make another appointment and something else happened and I called and I canceled, so today I called to make an appointment and I apologize for my mishaps but I said these were things that were uncontrollable in my personal life but I least I had the decency to call every time to cancel. Anthony turns around and says we don't want to do the job I said no problem, but rest assured I'm going to go on yelp an BBB. So people be very careful and very aware making appointment with this company because once you cancel, they disown you very disrespectfully and very unprofessional he it wasn't my fault. I had no control of why I had to cancel but at least I had the decency to call them twice to let them know and also I apologize for the inconvenience so I tried to make an appointment today with another apology And the so-called part owner Anthony disrespects me was very rude on the phone to me and says we don't want to fix your problem call someone else read more

Called A Degree Above as I needed full A/C replacement. Lou came over and provided a quote on the same day. Pricing was more than fair and the work they did was fantastic. The team protected my hard wood floors with tarps, wore protective booties and kept clean work spaces at all times. Paul, Nick and Larry were polite, professional and most of all, friendly. Use this company you won't be disappointed. read more

If I could give this company 10 stars, I would. I cannot say enough about how great A Degree Above is - they truly rescued me. Not just from a bad AC situation, but from other HVAC scammers. Lou and his team are phenomenal! Whether it's the ladies who man the desk (Maria & Sheryl) or the guys out in the field (both Matts and Lou), this is the best team around. Not only do they have years of experience, but they are HONEST GOOD PEOPLE. I had another company quote me $2000 to fix something that was NOT broken. Thank God I found A Degree Above on Yelp - they not only fixed the issue for a fraction of the cost, but explained the whole process to me, answered all of my questions, and were patient and kind. This company will be getting all of my AC business in the future. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a reliable and genuine team. read more

I had a humidifier installed back in 10/2017. I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the installation, clean and professional. The technicians were great and very courteous about any mess they made, especially having to remove a very old unit that was there. They gave me a full run down on how the unit works(controls) and future maintenance instructions. Best quote I received out of three estimates I did with all similar yelp reviews. 2019: installed new replacement unit 2021: water leaking from above In between, I have called on several occasions - no one ever picks up the phone. In 2020 my furnace stopped working, called and emailed as an emergency, no one ever got back to me. I called someone else in lieu. Today, my ac unit is leaking and again, no one picks up phone or responds to voicemail. If you asked me 3 weeks ago I would have rated them with 5 stars but the truth of the matter is that you can't get a hold of people when you need them. I had my PTAC units serviced back on April 28th. The employee was on time, very pleasant, clean and worked quickly. He told me that two of my units would need to be replaced so I asked him to work up a quote and let me know how much this would cost. No complaints. More then a month later and I still haven't heard a word about my quote. So I call, leave a message, no answer. Call again and get Cheryl (who is wonderful) and she follows up with me for the next two days and gets me my quote. She said that the technician left my paperwork on the owner's desk and forgot about it... great. The quote was pretty high so I told her I would think about it and get back to her. I called back a week later and left a message for Cheryl, no call back. Called again and left a message on the machine, no call back. Left another message with a person and no call back. You get the point... At this point I've called more than I should have too -- I shouldn't have to chase down a company to give them my money. Will have to start looking for another company to help me out with this purchase/installation. read more

Lou and his team were great My heat went out late at night and they were able to come the next morning, diagnose the problem, obtain the necessary replacement part from the supplier and return and install it at a fair price (based on both common sense and some google searches) I will absolutely use them in the future for any heating and air conditioning needs read more

A Degree Above gave us a highly competitive estimate for a new A/C and condenser. They were able to get started right away.
