Wow! I hardly ever write reviews, and I almost hesitate because I don't want this place to get so busy we can't get in But - it was so delicious I just have to say so. The menu was really interesting and the food was exceptional. My husband and I split the spinach cakes as an appetizer, then I had the lamb and he had the quail. I'm a little fussy about lamb, and don't like it if it is too gamey, but this lamb was fabulous. It's a small, quaint place. Our server was wonderful - warm and friendly and really knowledgeable. This place is definitely a new favorite of mine in Pasadena. The ambiance is great and the food is phenomenal!!! I ordered the Tony Soprano sandwich which came with chips and a soda. It was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Their burrata with peaches is my absolute favorite now and they just added an Italian chopped which was very fresh and tasty as hell!! Most of the plates run a bit bigger so they are definitely shareable. They also have a beer cider which paired great with everything for me! Absolutely love this new cafe! I had the best experience dining here recently. I was greeted by Stephanie who was super friendly and helpful when I was deciding what to try. She offered her recommendations and knew exactly what wine would pair lovely with my meal. I do forget our waitress name but she was a doll, just as friendly and helpful as Stephanie. Now aside from the great service the food was top notch! Daniel the chef knows what he's doing and was very friendly. We had to thank him after we gobbled up our food! First things first. How in the world did we not know this place existed?!?!?! We had a last-minute opening for dinner on Sat and found this restaurant hiding on Yelp. My husband wanted to check it out, so we called in to make sure they could accommodate us. We popped over and were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We ordered the Waldorf salad, Grilled sourdough, Scallop crudo, Spinach griddle cakes and The Catch of the day which was Seabass. It was all so yummy! We walked out wanting to come back. We managed to go 4 days before the call of the Waldorf salad dressing was too hard to resist and headed back for dinner last night with our kids. We basically ordered the same thing and then added the French fries, Risotto and Lamb to the order. Again, so yummy. The Waldorf salad dressing is worth the visit alone. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we ate it all! The wine list isn't huge, but it is carefully curated with something for everyone. We went with wines by the glass, I enjoyed the Pinot Grigio and husband enjoyed the Grenache Noir. On our first visit Chef Daniel, Stephanie and Karina were so welcoming and we really enjoyed the vibe and service. When we came back, they remembered our names! Karina took such great care of us both times and was very attentive. My husband was delighted they put big carafe of water on the table, so you don't have to keep asking for more. The Chef cooks in an open kitchen so you can see the magic happening if you want to sit at the bar. It is impressive how much they can put out in a small kitchen space. I understand they change the menu every few weeks. Our menu had BBQ theme to it. I normally am not a "BBQ" fan, but Chef Daniel made it all delicious and played with favors and ingredients to make a perfect dinner. I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. So glad I stumbled upon this spot. The staff is so so lovely, they have a nice menu and they have a good selection of adult bevvies! The service was on point too-they were super helpful and I felt like they were all really grateful for the business. Don't sleep on the Polynesian Macaroni!!! Hmm. Came in for dinner, wanting to support new chef spaces here in town. Glad we tried it, but don't think we'll be back. We tried three starters: the grilled sourdough with compound butter, spinach cakes, and tuna crudo, and the sea bass and rice entree. The grilled sourdough was pleasant, although the bread seemed a bit cheap. The compound butter was quite nice. The tuna Crudo was a generous portion, but flavor-wise a little bland, with no citrus or acid to perk it up. There was a pile of cilantro on the plate that didn't make much sense as an accompaniment. The spinach cakes were all right--think of a crabcake, basically, made of chopped spinach--but they were served with a chipotle aïoli poured over them that was very puzzling against the flavors of dill and garlic. The seabass was limp, served skin-on with mushy skin, on a big bowl of rice with huge chunks of sautéed bell pepper and big discs of raw radish, which also did not seem to make any sense with this dish at all. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and it feels like there is potential here-- but some real focus is needed to bring it up. read more

We stopped in today after my husband found this place online. WOW!! Our entire experience was incredible. It wasn't very busy when we were there so there was plenty of room for our stroller. The AC felt WONDERFUL! The man & woman duo were very friendly and kind. Hubby ordered the tri tip sandwich and I got the BLAT. We split the Polynesian pasta salad and an order of cannolis. I had the sparkling rose and he had a glass of red. Everything was phenomenal... We joked we'd be back at 5 for dinner. We wanted to try Holy Saints because of the good reviews. But our experience was just so-so. We paid $124 for one salad (which we split), two entrees, a lemonade, tax and tip. The server was friendly. Our main reason for the 3-stars was the long wait for the food. From placing our order, it took 25 minutes to get the Waldorf salad, and another 25 minutes after that to get our entrees. The place is small, but only half full, on a weekday night. So the long wait for food, with not even some bread to nibble on, was excessive, especially since we were quite hungry when we arrived at 7:30 PM. Our other main complaint related to the seasonings or dressing. The Waldorf salad was overdressed, and the lamb entree had too much salt. Better to use less salt and put salt/pepper shakers on the table. The lemonade was also a bit too sweet. read more

I really like this new wine bar owned by a young couple on Holly St. in Old Pas. It's been open for about two months. They are not doing wine tastings yet but you can buy wine by the bottle or glass. We hired Delta Food Service Management owners, Stephanie and Chef Daniel to cater our wedding in October. From the beginning, Stephanie and Daniel were very responsive and thorough. Stephanie researched the venue before we met to ensure the right equipment was available for them to execute cocktail hour and dinner service. They have several catering options and we needed help deciding. Stephanie and Daniel were super helpful with narrowing it down to 3 main courses. We scheduled a tasting at Holy Saints, and we were impressed by the food - it was all delicious. We watched Daniel prepare each dish while he talked to us about his experience. The food was definitely excellent but were blown away by the professionalism, vibe, and energy this husband and wife team had. We selected them to be the caterer for the most important day of our lives. Both were in communication with us and our coordinator up to the day of the wedding. Stephanie made sure I was comfortable and answered all of my questions. They executed cocktail hour and dinner for 120 people with no issue. Our guests are still talking about the food, the fancy Grazing table, and Chef Daniel's cannolis ( a must-try). My wife and I are both so happy and thankful we picked Delta Food Service. I've been to Holy Saints at least 4x and it never disappoints. The menu which changes often is consistently delicious. The staff is charismatic, friendly, and knowledgeable and the chef is thoughtful with his ingredients and the care with which he prepares the food. One of the steady menu items is the duck fat french fries which I did not take a picture of because I was too excited to eat them and forgot, they have a yummy dipping sauce that goes with them. The Waldorf is also steady and it is not your mama's Waldorf - it is light and refreshing and simple. The chicken was fall off the bone tender as was the pot roast, and the radicchio caesar had a fun little kick to it. The Cacio e Pepe was cooked perfectly not too al dente and not too soft. They have a pasta with red sauce that isn't on the menu right now but if they put it on again order it! The siete fincas Malbec and red blend are fantastic wines. It's so nice to have a fresh new spot to enjoy in Oldtown Pasadena. read more
