Between Shalom Kosher Supermarket, Ben Yehuda Pizza and the Yeshiva of Greater Washington (and a number of other synagogues) is a takeout only food place serving Chinese, Falafel, or Shwarma Nice people, fast service, only got one meal-the crispy beef. And the beef was good, it was mostly crispy with a few softer prices in the middle. Rice was good. I would say that it was sweeter than usual. And while it always serves Chinese food-Thursday through Sunday they bring in the Middle Eastern as well. No fusion or creativity. But is is a take out. While a big draw is the kosher, the food stands on its own as well.

Holy Chow is a good quality kosher Chinese takeout joint. They do deliver but the fees are high so when we do order delivery (as we do not drive) we order enough for leftovers the next day. We last ordered from here two weeks ago and got a Large Singapore Noodles, a Large Orange Chicken with Fried Rice, and a Shawarma Pita. The Shawarma I think is the recipe of Max's which is now closed and the Singapore Noodles were great. The Orange Chicken was decent but I remember it being better last time. The time before we ordered more food at the same price but a lot of it was on lunch special so ordering earlier in the day may help.

This was our first time here and it won't be our last. Friendly staff. They do get busy. We got there at 5:30 pm on a Sunday night and it was an hour wait for the food since we didn't order ahead of time. They did tell us it will be an hour before we placed the order. We decided to place the order anyway and just went shopping in couple of the stores in the plaza. It definitely was a great decision on our part and worth the wait. We ordered the following: Chicken with baby corn - it did came with other veggies. Very good. A++ Chicken lettuce wrap- love love love. A++ General Chow- great flavor- not to sweet and not too crunchy. A+. Chicken w sweet corn- a little on the sweet side but still delicious. A+. Scallion pancakes- i think it was too thick. Did not love it. B-. OVERALL great experience and great food.

If you keep kosher, this is your only choice. But even if you don't, the food also is pretty good. Take out only. No pork or shell fish.

The food was tasteless, absolutely no flavor. I wanted to like it so much as it's kosher but honestly I'll never get this food again.

This place really surprised me. After living in China for 5 years there are certain goods that I…read moremiss. Good noodles is one of them. I had high hopes since the menu includes intestines and other items that clearly are not meant for white customers. I am very happy to have a very tasty Chinese restaurant close to me. Dry pork noodles: These were the best IMO. Nice and spicy, with great flavors all around. I suggest getting the pork chop (add on) since there is not a lot of meat that comes with the dish normally. Beef noodle soup: Tasted very authentic and had a great broth. Thin slices of beef reminded me of real Chinese noodle soups. Spicy dry chicken noodles; Very similar to the pork noodles. What I really enjoy is that these are actually spicy dishes! I never had to add chili sauce!! Pork and chive dumplings: These were solid. The sesame dipping sauce is fine, but a mixture of Chinese vinegar (you rarely find this!) and chili sauce are good compliments. Cucumbers: These were more garlic-y then what I had in China, but are still good. Adding a little Chinese vinegar to them really takes them up a notch.

Came here for lunch with a friend on a weekend. We ate family style and ordered the scallion…read morepancakes, the spicy sesame paste tofu, the spicy oil wonton pork, the chive and pork dumplings and the sesame balls (filled with red bean paste). Total (not including tip) came out to approximately $49. What's Hot - Menu. Excellent. It's also written in Chinese in addition to English. For those of us familiar with traditional ethnic Chinese food, a menu written in Chinese is a good sign. They have traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food like scallion pancakes, sesame balls, beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, etc... Very good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan dishes.. - Quality. Pretty good. Their scallion pancake was soft, not too oily, and not too salty. I prefer the scallion pancake to have been a bit more thick and flaky, but that's my personal preference. To be fair, still delicious. Their chive and pork dumplings definitely had a delicious chive flavor. Substantial and the wrapper was not too thick. Their spicy sesame paste tofu had a good flavor and substantive. The chili oil wontons were not too spicy and had a good flavor. Again, my personal preference would have been for the dumplings to have been more substantive, but still pretty decent. - Service. Pretty good. It appears most, if not all their staffers, speak Chinese (Mandarin), which was also helpful, because I specifically ordered in Chinese. I asked them about the spice level, because I wanted to ensure it would not be too spicy for my friend. - Price. Pretty good value for menu and portions. - Location. It's pretty easy to find. Also within convenient walking distance to the Silver Spring metro. The inside space is pretty good. Tables can seat a minimum of 2, all the way up to 8. What's Not - Quality. The sesame balls are smaller than I expected. They're the rough approximation of a ping pong ball, maybe smaller. I was disappointed, because I like sesame balls that are substantial. - Service. I specifically asked for soup spoons, because we were eating dumplings. Instead, they gave me regular spoons. Not all the dishes come out in the order you hope. For example, main dishes may come out before the appetizers. This is going to be dependent on your personal preference. - Parking. There is parking near the restaurant, but it's going to be dependent on the day and time. Final Answer Worth coming back.

None of us were from this area, and we intended to go to the Mayflower Chinese Restaurant, based on Yelp reviews. However, once we walked in the door, it was apparent this place was focused on carryout, and there was no way we were staying to eat in their dingy entrance area. We walked next door to the Meleket Ethiopian restaurant. However, the place was deserted, and we didn't stay there either. We tried the Lime & Cilantro, the next place down, but it was packed and couldn't handle our group. So, we skipped past the verernary clinic and went to Spring Garden. And, what a great choice that was. They offer a huge menu of Chinese, Thai, and Japanese meals. Everything is reasonably priced. Once we got our food, we were impressed with the quality and portion sizes. And, through it all, the service was prompt and friendly. I ordered Hot and Sour soup (my bellwether for Chinese restaurants) and beef chow fun. The soup was flavorful without being overpowering, and the chow fun was delicious too. I liked everything so much that I ordered another soup and Thai Basil with Chicken to go, and that's been my lunch for the past couple of days. Don't be put off by the seediness of its location. Spring Garden is a great place to grab some tasty, reasonably priced food, either to eat in or take away.
