I had never had the Wonton Soup there before. I have to tell you it was the most delicious Wonton Soup EVER. Rich chicken broth and wontons stuffed with meat. The dumplings were great. My husband got himself an egg roll which was huge. He got the Hot and Sour Soup and liked it a lot. He also got Pork Mu Chou and will get 3 meals out of it. I've had better food from them before...but that said, as I came here to complain about the Kung Pao, I saw a picture of it, and sure enough that's what I got; 8 or 9 total ingredients, most of which was NOT chicken or peanuts. It's a whole lot of filler (mushrooms, carrots, celery, water chestnuts, giant cuts of green bell peppers, and baby corn? seriously?!?) all of which I've NEVER had in this dish ever, anywhere, in 50+ years. The kicker is that the 'sauce' was basically tasteless. All for $22! Absurd. The only thing that makes it a two star rating is that the egg rolls still rock. read more

Ordered Kung po chicken, fried dumplings, and an egg roll. This the worst Chinese food I've ever had. The chicken was bland, the sauce was tasteless, and the dish was padded with veggies (See photo). It was a gruesome sight. The fried "dumplings" didn't resemble any foodstuff I've ever laid eyes on - it was only by the process of elimination that I was able figure out what they must be. Just for laughs, show the picture of the "dumpling" around and see if anyone can guess what it might be. Their sole saving grace was that they were crunchy - there was a dipping sauce included, a bland sweet and sour sauce complete with chunks of pineapple. I think the egg roll came from the Giant Hot Bar just before closing. I threw it all out it was so tasteless. The bag it came in was pretty delicious in comparison though. read more

Not too happy about writing this review but I can't hold it. Hasn't anyone noticed the horrible smell that comes from this place the second you step in? I mean, we noticed this "backed up toilet smell" about 2 years ago and there was a notice saying the toilet was out of service. We still purchased the food and once in the car we noticed the same stinky smell coming out of our food and inundating my car. We came home, same thing, obviously. I ordered a beef and broccoli a week ago and all the same. Even when I took the leftovers to work next day I still could smell the sewage odor off of my food. I'm surprised no one else has noticed this issue. The place is nice and looks clean but something is way off. It is almost impossible to judge the food with that smell but before that "plumbing issue" took place the food and choices were great. And yes, paying almost $20 for a large beef and broccoli seems to be too expensive but we only have 3 choices in Aspen Hill. The high end looking one by Panera and the creepy ghetto looking one in Georgia ave where the Autozone and Advance auto parts stores are. read more

This has been my go-to Chinese food place for YEARS, now can get delivered through Grubhub, order through Grubhub or call with your phone (yes talk to a human). They have these huge eggrolls, so good! Garlic Chicken has lots of flavor. Do not be afraid to kick up the spice on Kung Po Chicken. This has always been my favorite restaurant in the area when I'm the mood for Chinese food hence the 3 stars .The quality has always been up to par but the quantity for $16.00 is seriously lacking . I placed an order last night (August 1st) for 4 wings with shrimp fried rice . Usually the rice is placed in a reusable bowl and the wings are placed separately in a foiled lined bag. On this visit both the rice and wings were placed in a large box , and this is where the quantity issue comes . The wings were the usual size no issue there but literally there was barely enough rice at the bottom for one serving. Being as the wings were packed in the same container as the rice it gave the illusion when buying a bag of chips , whereas the bag seems full but it mostly air at the top with a sprinkle of chips at the bottom. Only in this case I had 4 wings at the top with about 5-6 tablespoons of rice at the bottom. read more

The food taste great. Everything I've tried was yummy. Not too much oil, if you like sugar in your food than you'll like this place. It is well balanced with their spices. My family of three usually orders delivery from them. The driver is pleasant and doesn't push you for a tip. Food comes out steaming (just make sure you ask for chopsticks and napkins, they won't automatically put it). They are the local Asian food spot and well worth the wait. Recommend you explore their menu, so much to choose from. I am a fan of general tso tofu and white rice to keep it simple. read more

In my neighborhood, affordable, good food, and they deliver - what's not to love. It is not super-fancy food, but it is definitely better than your average Chinese carry out. Each dish (we tried: veggie lo mein, spring roll, egg roll, general tso chicken, kung pao beef, and szechuan string beans) had its own distinct (and good!) flavor. I tend to find quick carry-out places taste like they use the same base sauce so each dish tastes vaguely the same. Not so here. Warnings: The spring rolls are regular, slightly smaller versions of typical egg rolls; the egg rolls are HUGE. One egg roll I would say is the size of 2 average egg rolls. Also, the lo mein was fine, but our least favorite dish of the bunch. Highly recommend: kung pao dishes, loaded with veggies which I especially loved. read more

This is my neighborhood Chinese spot and I totally vouch for it! I usually get the Shrimp Lo Mein or Shrimp and mixed veggies with the sauce on the side. Boyfriend really likes the Dragon and Phoenix and the General Tso chicken, extra spicy. They also make some killer veggie spring rolls. They're skinny and small though, so you may want to get at least two. Service is quick. Orders are usually ready within 10 minutes. read more

People sleep on this place, but I'm telling you that this place is my go-to for Chinese. I guess to be fair, I only get 1 thing - the fried rice with 4 chicken wings. I LOVE the wings here. There's something about Chinese fried chicken that makes it so delicious, the breading isn't the typical flour-based coating as found in more southern-styles of fried chicken. The whole dish costs $12, but you get SO MUCH FOOD. It's enough to last two meals for me. You won't find this place driving by, you have to make the effort of going deep into the plaza if you want to discover this spot. But I think it's worth it. I've only gotten take out from here. But I've seen the interior many times while grabbing my meals. Nothing to write home about. The interior is very simple and it's clear that the restaurant doesn't care about the aesthetics at all, which is fine. If you couldn't guess, go and get the fried rice with 4 chicken wings. Top the wings off with some of the plum sauce that they have packets on packets of. You won't be disappointed! The only reason I give this place 4/5 is because the fried rice tends to be on the more oily side. But portion-wise and price-wise, 5/5. read more

My original review has disappeared. So here's another " I won't be going there any more.  The orange chicken - which my family has purchased several times - is typically hard, and dry,  as if it had been previously cooked and was served just to get rid of it for the night.   Tonight I made sure it was made fresh and tried something new involving jumbo shrimp.  This place is not inexpensive.  So, I want an experience that meets my expectations.  Too many of the shrimp were too mushy and soft as if not fully cooked.  While waiting for my order I had noticed that no one wore gloves - neither the cooks, nor the serving staff.  The cooks used their bare hands to put vegetables into the stir fry pan.  I didn't see them touching any of the food after it was cooked.   I called to let them know of my concern and we mutually agreed that I am not their customer.  I gave an additional star because the orange chicken was not hard and dry = as I had requested.  The problem may be that the cooks (none of whom wear gloves) are insufficiently focused on the resulting product.  So, I suggest that customers look over the counter and keep an eye on the preparation of your food and don't hesitate to bail out if you see questionable sanitary procedures. I used to like this place for a quick carry out or delivery order but I haven't been back in quite a while. It seemed like every time I would order a meal from here, the food was greasier than the time before and the price was higher. This is a real no-thrills restaurant, mostly carry out.
