A diner for 2 with 2 soups an appetizer and two dinner entrees came to under $50 with tax included. Portions are large and food was served hot. I had hot and sour soup, egg rolls and kung pao chicken. All were good. Soup was spicy but not overwhelming, same for chicken and egg rolls were crispy. Continues to be 4 stars read more

Came here with my family for lunch, we've been here before many years ago for Peking Duck and haven't been back since. The duck and the string beans(not pictured) were delicious. The shrimp had too much breading and the sauce they cooked it in wasn't my cup of tea. The squid had no flavor at all and needed a light sauce to go with it. The shrimp fried rice was meh, it also needed more flavor but the size of shrimp in the rice was decent. When we were packing up our food the server screamed at us saying the duck wasn't in the right container ... like it mattered which container it went in. I was on a mother daughter date with my mom and we went to HomeGoods and TJ Maxx. After we decided to come here for a cute lunch. We got the Mandarin beef lo mein, the chicken Mandarin fried rice, also vegetable spring rolls. In total I spent about $26 which is a beautiful price thanks to the lunch special. However everything was OK. The spring rolls were super crunchy and delicious. The lo mean was just OK. It was cool. The best thing we had was the fried rice. It was delicious. It was so nice to eat here and defrost because it's so cold outside with some warm food and tea. The servers were really nice. Overall, the food was OK to me, nothing felt above and beyond. Our family's go to spot for Peking duck in the area. My family knows the staff very well since we've been going there for years. They're very professional and attentive to their customers. It's a bit of an older restaurant but plenty of seating and Friday/Saturday nights are usually the busiest. 10.11.24 Their most popular dish with the most reviews on yelp is their Peking duck so of course I had to give it a try. My friend and I shared half a duck. Aesthetically, it wasn't the prettiest. It would have been more presentable by simply separating the pieces instead of laying them on top of each other. Although it wasn't the best duck I've had it was pretty good. To balance out the unhealthiness of having duck, we also shared the sautéed veggies. I liked that the veggies were soft, but I thought it was flavorless. My friend said it wasn't served hot enough. Regarding service, I was disappointed that our server didn't come to check on us after she brought our food. At one point, I needed another napkin so went and got one from another table. I assume that they bring the check to the tables, but we went up to our server to check out. When I passed by another table I saw that they had fortune cookies which confirmed to me that our server was supposed to come to us. After our first visit here yesterday, we are already thinking about when we will be returning. Parking is easy. Restaurant is spacious. Service was fine. We were here during lunch. Lunch menu has a dozen or so lunch specials with egg roll and soup. Lunch entrees came with soup as well. Prices were all around $11. Thinking that it's only $11 with soup, we were nicely surprised with the portion size. Very generous. We ordered 3 appetizers: Fried wantons: not the prettiest but sure were tasty. We places a couple additional orders to go. BBQ spare ribs: very good flavor but a little fatty. I did not mind. Spicy wantons: it definitely was not spicy but the garlicky sauce was delicious. The wanton wraps were on a thicker side but still very tasty. We also ordered 2 lunch entrees: Kung pao chicken: a little on the sweet side but flavorful. Szechuan Shrimp: good decent amount of shrimp. Good flavor. Overall good experience. We will be back again. UPDATE: We did return for a second meal a couple days later. chicken broccoli was good. Service was great, especially for a place that my cousin found while we were in the area. My aunt ordered the fried pork wontons for my appetizer. Unfortunately, they were fried one too many times. Or fried hard, extra hard. I was torn between the Mongolian hot pot and the veggie noodles. My cousin went with the combination lo mein and destroyed it. I polished off mine as well and left with a big belly blessed with a fortune cookie. Unfortunately, the rolls were left out of the initial order, so I had to drive back to the restaurant to get the spring rolls I originally paid for. Additionally, the Chicken Broccoli, Mongolian Pork, and Beef Broccoli dishes arrived lukewarm. But the meals can be reheated. Meh is the word that conjures my lunch visit today. We ordered egg rolls, yangzhou fried rice, mandarin scallops, and sesame chicken. Service was prompt but very brusque. The food came out pretty quickly. We had to flag down the server for spoons. No chopsticks offered. The food itself was ok. I liked the mandarin scallops with broccolis until I kept encountering gritty sands and gravel to spit out. Egg rolls had weird taste for the filling. The sesame chicken was ok. I was apprehensive dining there, and my fears were confirmed. My teacup was so sticky and gross. I tried to wipe it off with a napkin soaked in hot tea, but I couldn't get all the grime off. It was similar to scrubbing grime off of a tub. I gave up and grabbed a slightly less gross teacup from another table. I had to check 3 tables before I found one that was still gross but salvageable. The service was very bad. The server never voluntarily checked on our table, we had to beckon her every time. There were maybe three other tables in the restaurant, so it wasn't a matter of it being really busy. The food was even worse than the service. The food quality at Panda Express is superior. If it was up to me, I would have walked out immediately upon entering the restaurant and observing how visibly dirty it was. I would recommend this restaurant for some peking duck with family and friends~ But my favorite would have to be the seafood with sizzling rice soup. It is the PERFECT soup on a cold day, but it would still be good on a warm day too. I also got the beef chow fun which was really good and I love me some green beans so that was very yummy too. Overall, all the dishes were satisfactory. The only reason why I gave a 3 star is because the service was really slow. It didn't seem like there were that many people at the restaurant but we had to wait so long to get our food. We even raised our hand to ask for something and the waiters didn't even notice us for a while. Having lived in Olney MD for four decades, I've kinda been tied to this place when I've been DESPERATE for Chinese food and unwilling to even drive to Lee's Kitchen in Mercado (MUCH BETTER and offer gluten free soy sauce). IF this is what you are seeking, the food is well prepared, tasty and reasonably priced. E.G. I just brought home "Peking Shrimp" for lunch. It is excellent! IF you want AUTHENTIC CHINESE food, or even Chinese-American food, THIS IS NOT the place for you! Over the years, MANY MANY times I have suggested to the various owners that they offer GENUINE Chinese food on the menu ... dishes made with ingredients they already have. There has NEVER been ANY interest in expanding the menu DESPITE lamentations of previous owners of diminishing business! Today, I asked if they would make SHRIMP + soft tofu in a white garlic sauce for me. They have SHRIMP, ToFu, Garlic and the bits of scallions that are usually used for garnish! NOPE! They wouldn't do it and they were NOT busy at prime lunchtime! In the past, I've requested Asian vegetables. They are UNKNOWN in Hunan Delight with a NOTABLE exception of Chinese broccoli that is NOT on the menu. Four of Five stores away, in the same shopping center, is a GIANT grocery that sells several genuine Chinese veggies. Again, if you want and/or are satisfied with AMERICAN food given Asian sounding names, you will enjoy the food here. The peking duck here is probably my favorite in all of MD, but they also have many other good dishes. My personal favorites are the pork peking style and pan fried noodles, but pretty much everything is yummy. Just be mindful that they get fairly busy, and service can be slower during these times. I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but it has gone downhill over the past year or so. I don't know if it's due to the pandemic or because of a new owner but it's just not the same. I ordered takeout from here a few times and I was never really impressed with the food. The beef and broccoli was good, the shrimp with garlic sauce literally takes like the shrimp with mixed vegetables on the diet menu (what are you trying to say?), and the Singapore rice noodles and beef lo mein are horrible. I've been to Hunan Delight several times, and I always go back for the Peking Duck! Unfortunately, they stopped selling Crispy Whole Fish Hunan Style, which was extremely delicious. If they ever bring the whole fish back, definitely order it! The good: Peking Duck is delicious! The meat is tender and the skin is crispy! I always order this dish whenever I come to this restaurant. The bad: Tried to be adventurous and ordered the Cleopatra Chicken and Shrimp Mandarin. The Cleopatra Chicken had a very strong chicken flavor, and could use more sauce on it. The Shrimp Mandarin was extremely sweet, and was not spicy as indicated on the menu.
