Georgette is THE BEST. I am a bartender who is 5'9 and on my feet for 10 to 12 hours a day, constantly bending over and lifting. I have what I can assume is mild disk damage in my back from years of this and I had gotten myself to at a place where I couldn't walk. I was dealing with pain everyday and limping around. I tried everything and a friend finally sent me to her. At first I was unsure because I thought "oh like a massge is really going to help", but it's not just a massage it's body work. She got me walking like a normal human and after a few sessions the pain faded away. I honestly thought I would go once or twice and be done, but I am hooked and I and my body always are ready to go again. We all do weird things to our bodies and hold tension in weird places and she goes through your body and addresses all of those things. I went in to address pain in my back that FINALLY after seeing Georgette dissapated, however now I can mention a pinch in my shoulder or hip, or toe and she will work it, send stretches, and check in the next day, and I always feel 110% better. Also,what an amazing woman! It's like therapy for your mind,body, and soul. She is so personable you feel like you are visiting your fantastic Midwestern neighbor! She asks you about your day and life and REALLY cares. I cannot sing this woman's praises enough. If you are on the fence just go. It's an amazing experience that is SO AFFORDABLE!! My first experience with massage therapy (and massaging, in general) was with Georgette. I sought her expertise after breaking my collarbone and feeling tightness in my shoulder. Upon entering Georgette's studio, I instantly felt at ease. Comfortable lighting, soothing music, and a calming scent were the first things I noted. Before massaging, Georgette was sure to check in on my expectations. She was conscious of the fact that this was my first massage, and made sure that I was comfortable and informed about the process. Georgette is wonderful. She is intuitive, caring, and communicative. I began treatments with her in the fall after I discovered the effect body work can have on trauma and am now healing with her help. Georgette takes the utmost care to make sure I am comfortable, that she has heard my concerns. Her "hours" are far more than 60 minutes as she allows time to speak a little before the massage and then allows for me to have time to myself afterwards so I do not have to rush. Her studio is so warm and welcoming, with lovely antiques, plants, super soft sheets, heated pads, and the flicker of soft candlelight. Georgette always has a cup of water available as well as herbal tea warmed by a candle. While all of these are important to relaxation, it is Georgette's keen intuition and recognition of tightness and resistance in the body that I don't even notice that makes her so good at healing. I received a gift certificate to see Georgette and I can't stop coming back to her. When you walk into her studio, you immediately feel cozy and at home. She offers tea and as you sit and chat for a bit she asks you questions about yourself. What you'd like out of the experience, any issues to talk about, and general well being stuff. She's so kind and easy to talk with. Not woo-woo heavy, just real, direct and easy. Her body work is really what this is all about. She really listens to your body, she'll sort of guide your breathing and let you know certain things she's doing - if she's adjusting the position of your neck for instance. Tho, for all her gentleness and directness, she's powerfully strong! She will dig into buried frozen muscles like none other. It's insane that she has that much strength! Scheduled my first in November because I was experiencing some significant back pain. I've had back pain for most of my adult life. Mostly because I sit at work at all day. Wow, I have had A LOT of massages in my life and that by far was one of the most relaxing and therapeutic massages I have ever had. Her grounding soothing nature showed through her massage.
