I booked a session with Damaris who was an absolute sweetheart. It was on a Saturday and I believe that the building was closed so she has to come and get me from the lobby. She applied just enough pressure to get rid of the knots but not too much to make you cry. After the session (which was a 1 hour massage) I felt like jelly. I HIGHLY recommend this place. I was looking for last minute availability for a massage and I stumbled upon Dumbo wellness. I'm so glad that they had a spot because Casandra O. is amazing!! She knows the body really well and was able to relieve a lot of my pain during our hour session. She took the necessary time to work through a lot of the tension I was holding. My fiancé had gone to Siobhan after reading reviews, because of various issues with his back. She totally resolved a bad knot that had been bothering him for weeks in a 30 minute session, and he was amazed. I decided to book a massage with Siobhan after some Thanksgiving stress. The whole experience was very soothing. She used a mixture of light-medium pressure and deeper pressure on my shoulders and neck. It never felt painful but she still got into all the knots and worked them out, just the right balance. She seemed to perceive that I preferred to be quiet instead of chatting, which I appreciated. She didn't rush towards the end of the massage. She gives off this sense that she genuinely cares about your wellbeing and making you feel relaxed. I had a sports/deep tissue massage and was very impressed with Siobhan. The place looks a little small when you first enter but its a little hidden sanctuary. I didn't hear any outside noise, it was very comfortable and, most importantly, the massage was pretty amazing. I have had two massages from Siobhan over the past few months and both have been excellent. My wife and I both had massages from Siobhan while she was working with Lauren at Dharma Healing Arts. Her location is super convenient for us - just a short walk away, although I had a little trouble finding it the first time. The space is small but warm and comfortable and the room temperature as well as the heated table and the choice of music is very relaxing. The rates are also very reasonable and she has this cool credit card processing thing that e-mails you a receipt right away which is great for me because I always lose printed receipts! read more

Siobhan has some really great techniques and uses the right amount of pressure that I like - not too light and not too deep, but effective targeting what I needed worked on. I also appreciated that Siobhan uses a lot of hot towels and therapeutic essential oils in her treatment - not something a lot of massage therapists incorporate into their work. Setting up an appointment was super easy using her online booking with my credit card. I cant say enough good things about my recent session with Cassandra. She was very intuitive and knew exactly what needed deep work and what was sensitive(my feet). She played some kind of Tibetan chakra music that I was unfamiliar with, and it created a wonderful relaxing, yet tranquil forrest like environment. It felt very much like she was reacting to my ails and creating a unique custom massage . Ooof, I feel SO good right now. Thanks to Siobhan, I am all jelly-like, in the best way. Siobhan is clearly well-trained--she uses a lot of different strokes to get at different muscles, and focuses exactly on the problem points. She's really strong, but never massaged so hard it hurt: it was just right. She uses wonderful all-natural essential oils, so you smell lovely afterwards (peppermint and lavender), not like chemicals. She's got a lovely space. Yes, it's in a basement suite--but it's got light from a skylight, and is lovely and warm. She also--and this may sound weird--has really good energy. I don't know if she does it on purpose or what, but there were times when I felt as if she were manifesting that whole "healing hands" thing. read more

I went to see Siobhan for the first time, just this past Friday and I am so happy I did. I have been getting massages for over 30 years and wanted to try one closer to my home. Ironically, I pulled a muscle in my back the day before I went for my first visit, so it was particularly prescient timing. I had a very deep, easy, relaxing and curative session with Siobhan. i used to get those cheapo-massages where they just sort of knead your back without thinking about. siobhan is the total opposite. i love her and nyc massage and healing. i swear she has magical hands -- those hands are more intuitive than a normal human being's. she finds the knots in your back and can really get in there and smooth it all out. you can ask her to go more firm or more gentle, depending on your preference. (i like a deeper massage, but my boyfriend prefers a lighter massage.) she's also very professional and super friendly. she's the real deal...i recommend her to everyone! read more

She was amazing and comforting. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Her massage techniques were great. I suffer from chronic and severe pain due to my endometriosis/adenomyosis so i opted for the shiatsu massage as it is more focused on pressure points. Ive had acupuncture in the past and my body cant take the needles. After this massage i felt extremely relaxed and calm. Parking in DUMBO can be a bit of a pain but once i found parking everything was perfect. She even recommended some other forms of treatment that may be of use to me. I saw Siobhan during my 2nd pregnancy, two times for back issues. She was incredibly attentive and thorough. On my 2nd visit I was full term, in a lot of muscular pain and needed her help so that I could be prepared for the marathon of labor. She rocked that session, really focusing on the area that needed attention. She also asked me at the beginning if I wanted her to help get labor going... to which I answered an emphatic YES!!
