Sadly, within a week one nail cleanly popped off (and a few days after so did another). They stayed put for the weekend, but that was about it. I also think the nails were too big for my (very narrow) nail beds, which I'm sure contributed to the nails lifting early. I also noticed a fair amount of gel cured on my skin afterwards, even though my manicurist did swipe the sides of my nail with acetone as she went. I really liked the people here as they were so friendly, but sadly I don't think I'll be back for Gel-X.

I had a 9:30 AM appointment and was there for nearly 4 hours, only to leave unhappy with my nails. The biggest issue was communication. I showed the nail tech both a photo and a video of the design I wanted, but she barely looked at them and didn't communicate with me throughout the service. I clearly asked for a cat eye design only at the top of the nail, blended downward. Instead, she did a full cat eye on the entire nail. When I pointed it out, she rolled her eyes, seemed annoyed, and removed everything. She then tried to do a French tip version of cat eye, which still wasn't what I asked for. I tried to explain and show her the video and picture again, but she became visibly frustrated, made faces, called another tech over, and walked away without saying anything to me. The second tech was kind and did try to help but I had to wait over an hour to be helped by her. She checked in with me on each nail and asked if I liked it, and I did appreciate that. However l, I just wanted to show her the picture and for her to go based off of that, but it seemed that both of them didn't just want to look at it closely and then do my nails from that. At one point, I left the picture open and towards her so she can reference it, but she wouldn't look at it . Over all, because everything felt rushed, it also made the situation uncomfortable, like I was being overly critical or didn't know what I wanted, when I had already provided a clear reference. Despite her effort, the work still felt rushed. The final result was closer to what I had asked for, but the shaping was uneven and overall the work felt sloppy. There was also no proper cleanup under the Gel X nails, and I had to fix that myself at home. Overall, the lack of communication, dismissive attitude, and rushed work made this a really disappointing experience.

I went in for a very basic manicure and polish--nothing complicated. Without my consent or any explanation, the technician used a drill on my nails and cuticles. This resulted in visibly damaged cuticles, hangnails, torn skin that lasted over a week and was infected and sore and deep indentations filed into multiple nails. And it hurt while she was doing it. This is not normal for a standard manicure, and it's damage that now has to grow out over time. Improper use of a drill can also risk long-term nail bed damage, which is extremely concerning. To make matters worse, the polish application itself did not hold up. Within less than 24 hours, my polish was already lifting and ruined. I wasn't working, cooking, or doing anything that would cause premature wear. I've been getting manicures for years and have never had polish fail this quickly. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. I approached them calmly and gave them the opportunity to make it right. Instead of taking accountability, they deflected responsibility and ultimately blamed me. No refund--partial or full--was offered. The only resolution suggested was a discount on a future visit, which is not appropriate given the condition they left my nails in. As someone in the beauty industry, I understand that mistakes can happen. However, professionalism is defined by how you handle those mistakes. In this case, there was a clear lack of accountability and customer care. I will be including photos for reference so others can make an informed decision. I would strongly advise others to think twice before patronizing this business knowing how they treat their customers when they are not happy. Bottom line is I went in to get my nails done for a special occasion to feel and look pretty and I left in much worse condition then my nails have ever been. I had to say hello to my tech 5 mins or so into being serviced, she wasn't very chatty (which I prefer). she clearly wasn't welcoming or particularly happy to be working with my nails (I think she dislikes cat eye polishes). It could have been that they were just overbooked or short staffed.. not sure.? Didn't seem busier than they normally are. I wasn't offered a drink nor snacks like I was previously which kind of sucked considering this was a 5:30 appointment that I showed up on time to. I kind of banked on a small snack before dinner but that's OK. Anyway.. The new tech took 1hr 30min to remove gel x (removal took 30min) and a gel mani (this service took a whole hour). The technician was really struggling trying to make a heart shape with the magnet that moves the cat eye effect. My previous tech has always been able to accomplish this without issues and quickly. I honestly didn't even think it was difficult considering that all other salons are able to do it within one attempt. I also disliked that the technician kept dropping the tools and then would put them on her cart. She started spraying alcohol on them to sanitize after she noticed me looking at the cart. I think the manicure itself (trimming nails, cuticle clean up and nail shaping/ prep) was great. I'd recommend people to get a classic manicure. Not confident that I'd recommend a special effect nail. Previously I was able to get waxed, a pedicure, and a new gel x mani all within an hour so it was a little upsetting to spend nearly two hours for something was a bit more simple than my previous experience. Mind you, previous set was Gel X and this time around was my natural nail. Not too sure if I will come back considering price point & quality. Note: My two favorite techs are no longer employed at this salon (due to relocation) so I was rescheduled the morning of my appointment with a tech I have never been serviced with. I was rescheduled twice which is OK. I still tipped because they put in the time but were not able to execute.

They completely botched them (see images), did a sloppy job all around, and tried to blame us by saying they couldn't do the marbled effect in the inspo image, but they never made that clear (huge language barrier) or we wouldn't have proceeded. We nicely asked if there was a different technician who might be more skilled at doing what we requested and they said no. So we asked them to remove the nails and they told us they didn't have time (there were no other customers in the salon and there were three technicians). They told us to call the salon phone number and talk to the owner, who then ordered them to remove the nails. The owner said she was an hour away so would not be able to help us, but then miraculously appeared from the back but did not want to see the photos of the bad work. While she gave us a refund, this review is about the attitude and complete lack of customer service. Had she acknowledged it wasn't right and tried to make it right in a somewhat friendly way, we probably still would have returned. Shame on us for giving it another try but won't make that mistake again.
