I used to love this place but lately they don't answer their phone. I will call all day and no one answers. Last time I drove over on a day they are supposed to be open and the salon was closed. O what a gem! This nail salon is hidden away in a small shopping center on Van Nuys with plenty of parking located in the back. They offer both nail and waxing services. The technicians did a wonderful job on my nails. I was a walk-in so it took longer than expected, however, the value is great for the quality of service received. While looking for a color, Amy approached me to let me know which chair I'd be in. The communication was on par from start to finish. I called prior to coming in to ensure they'd be open, and available to take me on a Sunday evening. They graciously took me in with no wait in sight. My standard pedicure was $25 in the massage chair + tip. Amy, my nail technician was solid. She was super polite, courteous and personable. I picked a pink color that wasn't quite hitting right (too light), and she insisted to help me pick out the color to avoid me having to get up and look for the color myself. I wouldn't have minded at all. Considering the fact that I'd just gotten done with my cuticles being removed, my feet were still damp. Taking that into consideration definitely felt welcoming. I can't front, it's a little hot up in here. But, it is summertime in the valley 0_o. Four solid stars because they still do their thing up in here. Extremely unhappy. :( A friend convinced me to try this place on a whim. I made an appointment, waited for over an hour, then proceeded to get an awful gel x set. They used way too much gel, the paint didn't cure properly, length was off, and more. I think ultimately, what I wanted simply wasn't possible, and instead of admitting that, and asking me if there was something else I would like instead, they just kind of pushed me into something I didn't really want. As many things were off, I called back the next day to see if they would be willing to fix it for me. I showed up, and they refused to start over. They convinced me it would look fine just painted over and it was thick and terrible. The designs looked like a kid had drawn them with a very thin Crayola Glitter Pen. Today, I was charged $75 for an Apres Gel set. Sherry charged me extra for cuticle trim and removal of my old hard gel set. I think it should have been included with the $60 price point, as listed on their menu for a new set. Removal is part of getting a new set. Cuticle trim is part of a manicure service. Nonetheless, she was nice and patient with me so I gave a very generous tip. I'll make sure to ask in more detail the next time I go, or before hand, so that I'm not shocked last min. The shop was empty today. Not a lot of traffic. So, easy in and out, but I would still set an appointment to ensure you don't wait too long. Overall, I'm very happy with my nails. But, I'm deducting a few stars for the price and the extra charges for what should have been included. I feel like prices should be very clear cut and not startling for new customers. It's not fair to expect to spend $60 and be charged over 20% more without fair warning. read more
