This is a women-owned, women-run business and 100% of the time I've been totally satisfied with the work. Gel, Dazzle Dry, regular, sugar scrubs, callus remover...they do it all and more. Prices are super fair. Free parking in their lot. Easy to book through their app and over the phone. I've seen them work with kids and moms, solo guys, my husband will join from time to time. I used to frequent this place a couple years ago and then I found another nail place in the area that I love. But I decided to come back and give this spot another chance and unfortunately I had a bad experience. Instead of soaking off my previous gel manicure, the technician used the machine to scrap it off. My nails underneath burned as she did this and now that all the gel is off, I can see that a layer of my nail was removed in the process. Because of this, my nails are really messed up. They are brittle, breaking, and hurting. I usually get gel done every 3 weeks and I haven't been in a long time to get another manicure because my nails are so brittle and keep breaking from the manicure I got at this salon. I also went with my sister and she is having the same experience after we went here. It is unfortunate because the salon is lovely inside but I won't be back again.

whoever i just spoke with on the phone has the worst customer service. extreamly rude and way too…read moremuch attitude. if you don't like your job don't project it on a possible customer. that is the #1 way to loose business. all i did was call in to ask for availability on the next pedicure available and if i can book one for today possible and the response i got was "we are fully booked you can't just make an appointment and request service the same day". i was just asking for next availability and when i said okay what's your next availability the women responded by saying unless someone cancels they can't treat me today. she should of try to engage the potential client by asking if they are free on whatever day or time is available next or at least say you are fully booked but would love to help make an appointment for the future. instead i got a nasty attitude and i havnt even been to the damn place!!!!

EDIT 12 HOURS LATER: two of my hard gel manicure nails completely popped off. I was more forgiving with my review because I thought the services were not as advertised but still good, I am now learning they also were not up to par!

Hygiene of the process was questionable to me. Technician double dipped into scrubs and other products after touching my feet. After my service was done, they up charged me by $100. When I asked why, I was told my nails are medium length, therefore they charge $10 per finger. No one told me this during my service. I got plain nails done (booking was for hard gel), no design or anything extra, didn't even ask for a Russian manicure. Overall, this experience was not worth $250 before tip. The idea of a business performing services on you KNOWING they will charge higher than listed on their own booking system does not sit right with me. Word of advice to the owner: this place is so convenient yo my work, id have been my new regular spot. You just lost years worth of business over $100. To respond to the owners response: my booking was $150 for mani and pedi both. There was no discussion about any other services in person. I picked the color from the options I was presented and that's that. If your staff added services, those were not discussed with me. The lady that checked me out at the register even explained to me that the services were $100 more due to the "medium length" of my nails. Again, none of this was disclosed during the service. If that's the up charge your salon aims for, that's completely fine. But maybe disclose it to the customer and be open and honest. I felt robbed after checking out.

I booked a gel manicure, but the quality of the work was poor. The manicure looked rushed, the application wasn't well done, and the overall result fell well below what I would expect from a professional salon. I also paid for the Hydration Boost service. Unfortunately, they didn't perform the full treatment--they skipped the paraffin portion entirely--but still charged me full price. If a service isn't fully provided, customers shouldn't be charged as though it was. Between the lack of cleanliness, the poor-quality manicure, and being charged for a service that wasn't completely performed, I left feeling like I didn't receive what I paid for. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend Nail Affair Salon based on my experience.

When I walked in, I was welcomed with smiles and asked to check in at the iPad. The salon is beautiful inside, aesthetically pleasing. Gary did my nails & he was everything I want in a nail tech. I'm pretty picky about my nails, their shape, the application, but I had no complaints. For being the last appointment of the day, I was not rushed and I felt he took his time making sure everything was right about my nails. This also was the first time in a while getting gel X that my nails didn't burn when drying the adhesive and they're not tender when I'm using my hands/pressing against them. Pricing to me is beyond fair especially for the quality. It's been a week since my first appointment and they still look great, no polish chipping (and I do a lot with my hands), and shape is still the same and hasn't dulled. Looking forward to my next appointment and trying a pedicure. But so far, this is my new Nail Salon!

They've always been disorganized and nearly impossible to reach by phone, but they did a good job on my nails, so I kept going out of convenience. The last time I tried to make an appointment, I called repeatedly for THREE DAYS with no answer. I finally had to physically drive over, park, and walk inside just to make an appointment. When I politely explained that I had been trying to reach them for days, the woman working there was incredibly rude and actually told me there must be something wrong with MY PHONE. So I left a completely fair Yelp review. I even said they did a great job on nails -- my complaint was that good luck getting an appointment when nobody answers the phone. Instead of simply apologizing, the owner responded defensively and essentially accused me of being dishonest. Had the response been, "We're sorry you had trouble reaching us, we'll work on that," I genuinely would have happily updated my review. Well, today confirmed everything I needed to know. I called to make an appointment and was told they were "so busy" that they couldn't fit me in today. I asked about tomorrow and was told they weren't sure they could fit me in then either. That seemed strange, especially given my previous experience, so after yoga I told a couple friends what happened. One of them said, "Let me call and see." She called the SAME salon, on the SAME day, shortly after I had been told they were too busy to accommodate me. They offered her an appointment for 2:00 PM TODAY. So apparently there was availability -- just not for me. If a business wants to refuse service to a customer because they didn't like an honest Yelp review, that tells you everything you need to know about how they handle criticism and customer service. I didn't lie about them, insult their work, or make anything up. I described my actual experience -- including complimenting the quality of their nail services -- and apparently that was enough to get me blacklisted. The irony is incredible: my original review was about how difficult it was to get an appointment. Their response was to deny the problem, treat me rudely, and then apparently refuse me an appointment while offering one to someone else minutes later. There are far too many nail salons in Los Angeles with talented technicians AND basic professionalism to deal with this. Customer service matters. How you treat people when they have a criticism matters even more. I would not spend a dollar here.

Within 30 minutes after, I took a good look at my nails in the sun and could see they were all polished bad. The polish was pulled away from the cuticle, almost like if the top coat pulled the two layers of polish away from cuticle area a bit. I snapped photos of it, showing the day and time on my photo was about 40 min. after I left the salon. I was unhappy with it but also in a rush to get on the road- that is why I made sure to be his first client that day. I got back in town on Monday, came by his shop and it was closed. Tuesday, I called him on my way home from work and he said "come in tomorrow and I will re-polish them" which I thought was kind and the right thing to do, but I was willing to pay for a polish. So I left work a bit early on Wednesday to make it to his shop by 5pm and as soon as he looked at my nails, he FLIPPED OUT!!! He told me I had to have put my hands in bleach!! Huh? Who does that?? Haha! These are my natural short mom nails!! I don't clean with bleach!! Seeing his own bad work made him lose it!! I was shocked by his childish behavior. I was also insulted that he thinks I would go to such measures to get my nails repolished - the boring white simple color he had done them on Friday. It's not like I have amazing, long fake nails with artwork on them and I want a free expensive nail service from him!!! Horrible behavior! Quite shameful listening to him holler at me and crazily swing his arms around as he suggested I was a liar. Also, I just noticed his website indicates $50 for a mani-pedi. He charged me and I paid him $55. I then asked my husband to send him $5 via Venmo (which he said he did!! ‍) but the owner literally pulled out his phone to show me that he was not venmo'ed on my behalf! Well, now that I realize I was overcharged, I guess he can't say he didn't get a tip out of me!!! He did rush through my mani, not even putting me in a station, but did my mani as I sat in the pedi chair. His 10am had arrived and suddenly our conversation stopped and he was rushed through. Never again will I go there. It has nothing to do with the bad job he did on my nails, but rather how he insulted me and flipped out on me when I came back to get my nails polished right. (FYI - my pedicure was fine, which he did first.)

If you are expected to pay $165 for a manicure I would expect it to last more than 13 days.

This place is so centrally located on a busy cross street of Moorpark and Van Nuys where it is always a hustle to get through. But I finally find a down time to check it out. I wish I hadn't waited this long because the parking situation is a breeze as they give you free hour parking with validation. They didn't have a wait and the space was very expansive. One of the largest spaces I've seen especially because they have an upstairs and a grand downstairs that you're used to seeing from the street level as you driveby on your regular commute. All I can say is there service was impeccable and I loved the gel nails and the pedicure that I got. They had all my favorite color schemes and that's all that I can ask for.
