Came today to get a fill and chrome nails by Nathan. He is so quick and great at what he does! 50 bucks fir chrome with fill not to bad. I can go 4 to 5 weeks without a fill because he does such a good job!! Even at 8:45 am on a Saturday be aware of the drunken homeless hanging around in front of the laundry mat. Park on the side of the liquor store if you want easy parking. They now charge 2.00 extra to use debit or credit card, used to be 1.00. I like this place - a lot. A block from my house and I would've never known of it- had Yelp not existed! I try to discover and try new places and this one wasn't a regret. I've become obsessed with Gel nails for some time now. I'm always on the hunt for who has different colors and who has the highest quality polishes that stay on long and weather well. Allure has the best gel polish I've ever worn. I'm on day 20- about 3 weeks. I noticed wear at about 2 1/2 weeks! they didn't chip until just a couple days ago! I wash dishes, swim, take bathes, babysit, type, etc- and these Gel Nails lasted me 3 weeks! Hallie I believe is also the star manicurist that did my nails and she did a very good job. She put a design on my accent nails- a freestyle version of something resembling a feathered glittery tail- it was cute and very detailed and she did each in under 30 seconds. Some things I didn't like too much: -$5 charge for gel removal. It takes an extra 5 minutes to remove something they put on our nails and are trained in doing. It's a part of the job- the manicure being the service we're always paying for. I do not appreciate having little $5 add-on charges that these people come up with out of money-hungry desperation. -The price- it's $25- everywhere else (that's already a lot to pay every two weeks for something temporary. At Allure- a gel polish manicure costed me $35. I might be ok with the $5 extra for the extra week they last yes, but that other $5 needs to go. Let's not make something thats already expensive- overly so. Everyone seems really nice here and does a good job, but they should remember they aren't a fancy place in Beverly Hills- they are in Van Nuys in a not-so-safe area and overcharging for standard service. read more

Not only were the associates friendly and extremely patient (I tend to mess up my nails before they dry), but they also did a great job with my nails and toes. Today was my first time coming to Allure Nail Salon as I've just recently moved to this part of the valley, and I think I found my new regular nail salon! Nathan did my nails and Hallie did my toes. I came in wanting a crazy design since I saw all the other yelp pictures before coming in, Hallie was busy with another client and even though Nathan said that he couldn't do crazy he still tried and did an amazing job on my nail designs. This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had at a nail shop. The guy (tan or ten) did a great job on my nails however, i will never return. I called and made and appointment at 6pm when I arrive (the owner I'm assuming) lies and says it was a 6:30. I decide to wait because I had my little sister with me. They start us on time but I was there for 2 hours. After my little sister was done getting her nails done she sat by the fan for a while to allow them to dry. After about 30 minutes a man can by and touched her nails and told her they were dry. By this time we had been there for 2 hours so she went to the restroom. When she can out two of her nails were messed up. I told her to politely go to the owner and explain what happened and ask her to fix them. The lady then yells at her and tells her it's because she went to the restroom. Never ever again!!! read more

Decent shop. Halle did my nails. She was super sweet even with the language barrier. I have blue hair so no fancy designs for me. 1 star docked because they acted like I can't do math. My acrylics with rhinestones were supposed to be $30 and my polish change was $6. But the woman asked if $38 was ok. I guess they were worried that I wouldn't tip. Little did they know I was already planning to pay $40 even . I have been to magic nails and had a horrible fill in which damaged my nails. I waited 2 months to get them redone. Halle is very gentle and my nail beds don't hurt nor am I having any lifting. As long as I have blue curly hair I will go to them for the simple stuff. read more

First time coming here, the experience was decent but there's room for so much improvement. The nail teach did my full set under 45 mins. Lovely service he was very gentle and the nails came out decent. I also got a pedi done. I wasn't fully satisfied with the pedi service. The lady was quick, she did it in like 25 mins. She cut my nails without even asking and when I asked her to file she continue cutting with a nail clipper. She pretty much just wet my feet, cut my nails and painted them. read more

The lady couldn't understand my question "how much do you charge for coffin shaped nails?" And she said " we don't have time. If there is less than one star I will put for this salon and their attitude! I used to go there 4 years ago they were good and friendly, the last couple years I stopped because they are not clean at all specifically with the pedicure. I know couple of people got fungus when they did there pedicure there because they don't put plastic bags, they just use it over and over.... even the tools for the manicure they put it in the blue thing as its been sanitized but in fact no! Also the guy instead of using a towel he use paper towel for everyone.... how cheap and disgusting they save even for the paper towel under your hands.... I wanted to try this place because of the reviews on Yelp and because I needed to wash a huge rug (there's a laundromat next door). When I arrived, there were a couple of people in there and one of the ladies said that they could take me in 15 minutes. Cool, I thought to myself. This gave me time to load the laundry AND get my bangs cut at the little hair place next door (3 birds, 1 stone!). I come back and have a seat next to the display counter. No one acknowledged my existence (which maybe broke my heart a little, but... I digress). I'm not sure what was going on, but it took more than 45 minutes for me to be serviced. During that time, there were no apologies or checking in with me to make sure I was alive, there was no, "Hey, pick out a fabulous color" or anything. I absolutely would have left looooong before then, but as I mentioned, I had a (now) drying rug and nothing else to do. Also, my toenails had started clicking on the linoleum, so they had to be dealt with. When I finally was seated, there was nothing mind shattering about the experience, it was a decent pedicure for a decent cost. She did try to upsell me, but took no for an answer. The place wasn't as pristine as the places I usually go to (not that I go to a lot). You can usually tell a lot about a place by their display case and theirs is dusty and filled with random nail polish. There are stacks of magazines and other crap on top of it too. From the other photos, it looks like they can do good nail art? *shrugging* I think next time I'll pay the extra buck or two to not have my time wasted. read more

My roommate tried this place and liked it, it's super close to my apartment, and it had good acrylic reviews so I decided to try it out. YES YES YES -- my new go-to place. Nathan did my acrylics the first time, Hallie filled them when I came in three weeks later, and today (after a horrid nail-in-door accident), Hallie fixed my broken nail to perfection. A difficult task indeed! Don't go in thinking you're going to get gimmicks and extras -- this is a nail salon and they do nails. And they do them well. Hallie takes pride in her salon and in her work, and it shows. Tip well. You'll be taken care of. Oh, and my roommate loves it because he's a dancer and they do gel toes if you ask for them.
