Okay... if you need a new lace to stay in Everett Washington and the majority of your time will be spent in a Conference or event then yes this is a descent place. Some advice, book the rooms on the opposite side of the highway. Extremely loud throughout the night listening cars racing by until sunup. The rooms are basic. We have a very loud toilet that when flushed made a sound from a horror movie. Having said that the staff was very nice, peasant to talk with and hospitable. Now what made me give three stars was the Breakfast and location of the hotel. This wasn't your Continental breakfast with juice, granola bars and yogurt. They serve a full breakfast; eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, juices yogurts, fruit, fresh made waffles, hot cinnamon rolls, toast and more. Each more they rotated the choice with something new. We looked forward to the breakfast. Given what we only slept in our room I'd book here again.

My husband and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites on our road trip from Vancouver to Seattle. We would have just driven to Seattle but my husband figured it would be a little cheaper to stay at a hotel in Everett than in Seattle. My husband made a reservation on Hotels.com in which he reserved us a room with 2 queen size beds. We had a friendly employee greet us when we walked through the doors of the hotel after we parked. She helped checked us in and gave us our hotel keys. Our room had a TV, a mini fridge (please note that this fridge did not have a freezer), complementary shower products in the shower that is from Dove. There is also a gym on site. Unfortunately there was no water, as the water dispenser was empty. Please note that there is an indoor heated pool but I did not use it upon this stay. Parking is free, in addition to WiFi and breakfast (Daily from 6- 9:30 am). The breakfast choices we had included biscuits, turkey sausage patties, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cold cereals, juices, coffee, hot water (and tea bags), assorted pastries/ bread. Our room was clean and there was plenty of towels available. There was plenty of counter space in the bathroom but felt that the bathroom was a little cramped, just because the toilet was so close to the door and shower tub. The bed we slept on was comfortable. Overall, this was a pretty good stay and the room was affordable (~$109 per night, prior to tax). I would stay here again.

Stayed here for 1 night for business. Pros: Close to Paine Field airport - 15 minute Uber drive away. Friendly staff, especially the front desk lady in the morning Good breakfast - hot foods and they actually have a non dairy milk option. First time in all my travels that I've seen a hotel offer this, big plus to management for providing that option Cons: The original king bed I checked into had a broken TV. Front desk staff came in and tried fixing but there was just static. They moved me into another 2 queen bed room and it had the smell of body odor. I was tired and kind of fed up by then so I didn't ask for a room change.

Advice though, If you enjoy the white noise of semi trucks on I-5, get an even numbered room, applies on all floors.

Everything inside was spotless, and everyone from the front desk to the housekeeping team was super friendly. We hit the jackpot and were upgraded to a suite, which had an incredible view and tons of natural light pouring in through the big windows. The room itself was a winner: comfy beds, nice bathrooms, and they even have a proper desk set up, which is perfect if you need to hop on a laptop for a bit. We ate at the first-floor spot, The Jetty, a few times. Honestly, the food was really good, and the restaurant crew were lovely. But if you want to venture out, there are plenty of other great restaurants just a short walk away. Highly recommend this place. We'd definitely come back!

The increased population makes for a very energetic experience in the hotel (noise) and it makes the wait at local restaurants is a bit longer, but its wonderful. This year our room overlooked the harbor where the 5K was anchored , so we could see all the boats with all their lights, quite a site. Unfortunately we had a much firmer mattress than usual, and had we said something I'm 100% sure it would have been addressed but it wasn't that big of a deal so not docking stars just be advised.

Leadership & Basics Both Missing at This Downtown Everett Marriott…read more I travel 25-30% of the time for work and was planning to make Marriott my primary chain to build Bonvoy status. After this stay at the downtown Everett, WA Marriott, I'm rethinking that entirely. 1. Didn't honor the room type I booked I booked one king bed directly through the Marriott website. At check-in, I was given a room with two queens instead. For a solo business traveler, that means less usable space and no comfortable place to relax besides the beds--exactly what I was trying to avoid. No proactive fix, no real apology, just "that's what we have." 2. Basic housekeeping failures When I went to shower, the hair conditioner dispenser was completely empty. That's not a gray-area "service preference," that's just not doing basic room checks. There are also visible stains in the hallway carpet on the fourth floor. Even after the empty conditioner was reported, nothing was done to correct it during my stay. 3. Unprofessional front-of-house behavior Multiple times I saw hotel employees vaping directly outside the main entrance. There are plenty of places staff can go on breaks out of sight from guests. Letting employees vape at the front door tells me a lot about the culture and the standards the management enforces (or doesn't). 4. Prepaid reservation + zero flexibility + invisible manager My work here finished a day early. Because our travel has to comply with government-related rules, once the work is done, we're expected to head home and stop incurring unnecessary costs. I asked to check out a day early and was told "we can't do anything, it's prepaid." The front desk clerk went to talk to the "manager" and came back with the same answer: still charging me for the extra night. The problem isn't just the policy--it's the leadership. The manager never came out to speak with me directly, even knowing the answer would understandably upset a guest. Instead, they sent the front desk associate to deliver bad news they had no authority to change. I've led teams for 25+ years; that's a textbook example of poor leadership. You don't hide in the back and make your frontline people absorb all the impact of decisions you're making. Bottom line: Over the cost of one night on a prepaid reservation, this property has likely cost Marriott thousands of dollars in future business from my ongoing travel. The room type wasn't honored, housekeeping missed obvious basics, staff were vaping at the front door, and the manager chose not to face a dissatisfied guest personally. This stay tells me more about Marriott's standards and oversight than it does about any single employee. I strongly recommend corporate review management, housekeeping procedures, and front-of-house professionalism at this location. Until I see evidence that Marriott actually takes this kind of feedback seriously, I'll be re-evaluating where I book my future business travel.
