I greatly enjoyed the room layout of this hotel and the spaciousness of the interior design both in the lobby and room areas. It was a welcome experience after a week of camping. The breakfast options were not appealing to me, however, with too much emphasis on standard meat fare and seemingly little vegetarian or plain options. Access to the hotel was confusing, snaking through several other businesses and parking lots, and the surrounding area did not seem especially desirable. 2 night stay for us for family visit. Rooms are very clean. Window shades are very effective at night giving us comfortable sleep. Lots of tables to put our stuff including devices for charging as well as luggage for easy access. Free daily breakfast for guests: Fresh fruits, bread, bagel for toasting, pastries, jellies, sweetened drinks + water, coffee, veggie and cheese omelette, scrambled egg, biscuits and gravy, salted meats. Access to the hotel is a little tricky as guests have to use a little strip mall with a gas station, casino, etc on a driveway. Overall we had a pleasant stay. ***Why the One Star rating?*** Only thing was that there's no control on who can get the breakfast as the local area has homeless individuals. Management should have better control on who can get breakfast by checking check-in info at the dining room door. I'm not against feeding them. But not to compete with paying customers. I had an admittedly complicated reservation. Both Rosario Esquivel (Front Desk Clerk) and her supervisor, Chris Gloria, were incredibly helpful. We enjoy the many amenities this chain offers frequently-- the pool and hot tub always seem to be in prime condition when we visit (VERY fun for my 6 y/o & nieces and nephew to visit), pet accommodations are a must, the breakfast is incredibly satisfying all the time, the rooms are clean and at this one-- the Bothell business district location -- the hospitality was unreal. These people, when we checked in, were my favorite employees I've ever encountered. We ended up staying at the Everett location this time due to circumstances, but I will never hesitate to book with them. Absolutely wonderful service in a fantastic hotel. Okay... if you need a new lace to stay in Everett Washington and the majority of your time will be spent in a Conference or event then yes this is a descent place. Some advice, book the rooms on the opposite side of the highway. Extremely loud throughout the night listening cars racing by until sunup. The rooms are basic. We have a very loud toilet that when flushed made a sound from a horror movie. Having said that the staff was very nice, peasant to talk with and hospitable. Now what made me give three stars was the Breakfast and location of the hotel. This wasn't your Continental breakfast with juice, granola bars and yogurt. They serve a full breakfast; eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, juices yogurts, fruit, fresh made waffles, hot cinnamon rolls, toast and more. Each more they rotated the choice with something new. This review is about the booking process, not the hotel stay itself (which was fine). We booked our stay through hotels.com as nonrefundable. I realized immediately after booking that I booked for the wrong day. I contacted both Hotels.com and Holiday Inn Express within minutes of the mistake. Hotels.com made every effort to contact Holiday Inn Express to make an exception. When I spoke with the front desk at Holiday Inn, they told me Hotels.com had also contacted them and they were working on options for a refund. I was advised to cancel the mistaken booking as that would be the best chance to get a refund. After about a week, Hotels.com contacted me to let me know they had no success with getting an exception from Holiday Inn Express. I can't say how disappointed in am that they were unwilling to make this exception. Shame on me for the mistaken booking, but also too bad that Holiday Inn was unwilling to help out a loyal customer. I have been loyal to Holiday Inn Express for years, and do appreciate the cleanliness and comfort of their properties but I will be looking elsewhere from here on out... read more

My husband and I stayed at Holiday Inn Express & Suites on our road trip from Vancouver to Seattle. We would have just driven to Seattle but my husband figured it would be a little cheaper to stay at a hotel in Everett than in Seattle. My husband made a reservation on Hotels.com in which he reserved us a room with 2 queen size beds. We had a friendly employee greet us when we walked through the doors of the hotel after we parked. She helped checked us in and gave us our hotel keys. Our room had a TV, a mini fridge (please note that this fridge did not have a freezer), complementary shower products in the shower that is from Dove. There is also a gym on site. Unfortunately there was no water, as the water dispenser was empty. Please note that there is an indoor heated pool but I did not use it upon this stay. Parking is free, in addition to WiFi and breakfast (Daily from 6- 9:30 am). The breakfast choices we had included biscuits, turkey sausage patties, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cold cereals, juices, coffee, hot water (and tea bags), assorted pastries/ bread. Our room was clean and there was plenty of towels available. There was plenty of counter space in the bathroom but felt that the bathroom was a little cramped, just because the toilet was so close to the door and shower tub. The bed we slept on was comfortable. Overall, this was a pretty good stay and the room was affordable (~$109 per night, prior to tax). I would stay here again. read more

I stayed one night for my granddaughter graduation. Room 234. I got charged 311.71 for that night. Then my card was charged 350.63, and the charged $250.63 and then charged $261. I couldn't prove i didn't make the reservations and they had reservations confirmed with NO SHOW. So i lost. They are thieves preying on senior citizens. read more

Our trip was canceled due to weather. My train was canceled due to weather event of rain/wind/snow. Amtrak canceled the train. I was not able to arrive in Everett. The hotel manager did not respond to multiple requests from us personally and from Hotels.com to offer any type of refund. Spent a couple of nights here for a "weekend" away. The Check in staff were very friendly and efficient. Made a reservation for the pool for the next day 1 hour. Unfortunately we checked in at 1am and the only room that they had was unclean and smelled bad. Front desk couldn't provide an alternate room so with no where else to go, we stayed the night and in the morning asked for a different room. (Forgot to add: my daughter woke up with hives in the morning) They said that only the manager could approve a room change but they were not available and so we should wait. After waiting over an hour, until after the check out time, we went down and were given the run around with the manager being missing, ill, on vacation, even his mom who worked there said he lost his phone - differents stories from different people and no one could change our room - not even Yong Kang's mom (Yong Kang was the manager/franchisee at this Holiday Inn Express). Calling Holiday Inn Express / IHG customer service and they said we have to wait for the manager or we can checkout and just pay for one night. So we told the front desk we'd be checking out and they said we couldn't! They said that only the manager could approve an early checkout and that if we left we could be charged for 7 nights instead of one night - we'd only been there about 12 hours, in a dirty room. Fast forward and this Holiday Inn Express Everett, Washington decided to do the dirty and charged us almost $900 for a 12 hour stay. I spoke every day after checking out of the hotel to IHG CS and also the front desk of the hotel and someone working there said that we were still checked in, but it looked like someone (Yong Kang, the manager?) had moved us to room 9006 and the front desk said that was strange because they didn't have a room 9006! It appears to me that the manager rather than calling us back by our request, decided to put us in another room after we checked out, so that they could sell the room we were in during those 12 hours. All around a terrible experience, I'm still have a chargeback pending with my credit card company, but my advise is stay clear of Yong Kang and the Holiday Inn Express in Everett, Washington and be careful of booking at a chain where you end up at a franchise - the chain can do little other than document the whole thing. If you are in this neighborhood looking for a place to stay, stay at the Country Inn and Suites Seattle-Bothell, WA. I will update this review if we ever get a full refund. read more

A little rough around the edges for a Holiday Inn Express (HIE), but pretty dang good at the price point. This was the least costly HIE in the Seattle metro area by around $20-30 a night. That was the appeal to this cheap old bastard. It's a bit out of the way, and the immediate neighborhood is fairly sketchy, but the hotel experience itself was good. Customer service was excellent and the reception staff were exceptionally warm and cheerful. Breakfast was a tightly run machine and there was a ton to choose from. Everything was kept stocked and turned over quickly. The room itself was pretty standard. Clean (for the most part) and well-appointed. The curtains and upholstery were a bit stained and worn but again, $20-30 cheaper than other HIEs so I'm more than happy to deal with a little crustiness. Another clean hotel in the Holiday Inn group. Nice clean lobby and breakfast area. No surprises in the food choices for breakfast. The rooms are clean and spacious. Freeway traffic is quite noticeable at all hours as I-5 never sleeps. There is enough parking but you have to actually find the parking lot first as the intersection close to the hotel is extremely busy at almost all hours. How should I put this, the new owners are horrible. They yell at the house keepers making it a hostile environment. But what gets me angry is the way they treat this poor young man employee who has autism and only works part-time and who's hours have been taking away and giving to someone else. He's likes working but the hostile environment makes him feel very uncomfortable and puts him down, when he feels like he is being productive and trying to be independent. Also not paying employees on time, when emplyees asked about paychecks the owner yells at them saying tommorrow or doesn't answer phone calls. These employees have worked at that hotel more then 5+yrs before new owners took over. Nobody should be treated this way and go through this. read more

Reasonably priced place to stay in this area. I had a meeting in Snohomish and staying here enabled me to drive against most of the morning commute traffic in the area! There was quite a bit of road noise during the night from the nearby freeway (I5) that could be heard in my room on the third floor. The double queen was the cheapest, so that's what we had, and the bed was comfortable. Didn't get a chance to experience the breakfast and would suggest that they start breakfast earlier than 6:30 a.m. Since the traffic in this area is so ridiculous, you'd think they might need to start breakfast earlier for any business travelers, but maybe they only get vacationers. I would stay here again, however, if I need to be in Snohomish (as there really isn't anywhere to stay there). read more

The odd numbers face away from the freeway. I suggest getting a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor, Lots of foot traffic on the 1st. Breakfast was great! Bacon was plentiful on a Thursday, not sure about weekends.. Pool is very nice, fitness room is small but good equipment. For the price, worth it. I stayed in a King 'suite. read more

The 2nd floor rooms that face the freeway were extremely noisy. We requested a room change after the first night. The front desk told us they can move us to the back, but that room was not ready. They promised it'll be ready later and even gave us the keys to the new room. When we came back in the evening, we found someone else in the room. Finally, they gave us another room next to the pool. Stayed here last night and was more than I would have expected. I wish they had this exact hotel and staff everywhere I travel. As a frequent traveler, I stay at numerous hotels monthly and this was by far the best experience I've had in a very, very long time! I judge hotels by three factors: comfy bed, good shower pressure and a great breakfast. The room was fantastic. Let's just start there....overslept a solid 10 hours and missed breakfast. The shower had good pressure and coverage. As I was checking out, Lauren went and got me a plate of sausages and omelette to start my day off even better (someone slept through breakfast)! When I was checking in last night, there was an issue and Tristen went out of his way to make it as smooth as possible as well. The customer service here is truly out of this world! I booked a reservation on July 6th check-in. I have a service animal who has been licensed since 2013. I am a disabled and also have cancer. When I made my reservation I spoke to someone and did not just do it on line. I made sure my service animal was included. I always make sure service animals are excepted. The website states they except service animals as well. We arrived there at 1am on 7th. There was no parking so the manager on duty walked around and couldnt find a space so he let us park in reserved spot and put a note on our car as well as a note in the file. Everything was great. We went up and went to bed. The bed was really comfortable so we decided that we wanted to rent another day. We had to stay one day longer than expected. The friend I was with went down stairs to talk to the manager on duty and make the arrangements. He went before me so when I was ready I walked down to the desk. Everything seemed to be fine until the manager saw my dog in my arms. His face changed as well as his voice. He said "You have a dog!" and I said yes shes a service animal and offered to show him her credentials. Before I could finish answering he demanded that I tell him what she physically did for me. I told him he was not suppose to ask me that he raised his voice and laughed and said he could ask me anything he wanted. I again stated my service animal was included in my reservation and had no problem the night before. He again aggressively stated he didnt care and again asked me what my dog did for me physically. He was really aggressive and rude. He acted like I snuck my dog in. He kept demanding I tell him what my dog did for me physically. I tried to reason with him but then he threatened to call the police. He just kept saying get out. I am not renting you another night. Get out. I was crying at this point and didnt understand what was happening. We went back up to the room thinking the police were coming. I called Aging and Disabilities and told them what was going on. He definitely violated my rights as a disabled person but he also violated my human rights as a human being. I called the corporate office to complain and try to get someone to help us. We opened a case of discrimination and verbally assaulting a disabled person. The guy from corporate could not believe what he was hearing. I went back down to the front desk and ask for a pen. The guy refused to give me a pen and again told me to get out or he was calling the police. He refused to give me a piece of paper! At this point my friend was there with all our stuff and proceeded outside. I again asked the guy why are you treating us like this what did we do????? He again screamed at us to get out and literally picked the phone up and called the police on us. Giving them my name and telling them I refused to leave. I am so in shock that this happened. I have never been been treated in this manner. I still cant believe it happened. I got back and contacted my social worker for Aging and Disabilities and told her what happened. She even tried to call this guy "Jeff" and he was just as bad to her as he was to me. Screaming and yelling and even told her I threw a pen at him. When she ask to see the video he said he didnt have it. He erased it. There is an active Adult Protective Service investigation going now as well a criminal case out of the Everett Police Department against them. I still dont understand what or why this all happened. I still have not heard from anyone regarding this very disturbing event. They did refund the money for the room but 2 days later took it back out. I will NEVER give my business to Holiday Inn Express and Suites again. If this behavior is condoned by this company shame on them. I do intend to sue. They cant even call me and say sorry.' This hotel is located just off I5 it's very easy to get to. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly young woman. When we checked in we inquired about a senior discount of which she seemed to not be aware but looked it up for us and found it. She let us know where all of the amenities were and what time everything ended and began. Right near the desk there are cookies, apples and a newspapers in the lobby then you walk down into the breakfast room. The breakfast room is very good size with several tables and a few lounge chairs. There is plenty of coffee and other hot beverages, a fridge with milk and yogurt, a pancake maker, fresh baked cinnamon rolls and the regular continental breakfast items. If u don't have time to eat they have breakfast bags to take with you! The room is adequate size not tiny and not big. The beds are horrible and the comforter was ad thin as the sheet. The pillow cases had firm and soft stitched onto them making it easier to get the one you want. Even being located close to a high traffic road you can't really hear it in the room. The shower was great nice pressure easy to use and the bathroom seemed clean (except the back of the door). The pool area is small, it's not really a lap pool. It's 3 ft deep on both ends and goes to 5 ft in the middle. There are extra towels in the pool area and they were well stocked. There is just 2 one stall unisex bathrooms in the pool area so you will want to change before you go to the pool. It has a shower to rinse off located next to the hot tub so when someone is rinsing off it splashes into it (not a lot). There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance of this hotel. Ranging from fast food to locally owned. There are not really any sidewalks leading from the hotel to any of them, you have to walk through connected parking lots. read more

I was exhausted from traveling. Booked this hotel on Priceline and drove over to hotel. I used a business card through Uber (which is a prepaid card, valid). I was denied a room, because they don't accept them. Okay, that was a drag, but the way I was treated before the card issue and after really was upsetting. I didn't wear a mask going in and he sternly insisted that I put one on. So, I went back to the car and got a shirt to put over my face. I lost 3 masks on my travels, lol. Anyway, he went on to lecture me on medical and safely facts, which I am well aware of both sides of the issue. I am a 54 year old woman and I didn't need an education on his OPINION. I stayed quiet and waiting for a room key. He denied my card, I said, well there is plenty of money on there and I have cash. Neither was accepted and he was extremely rude about it. There was a lady behind me and it was quite embarrassing and I felt like the young man was just shooing me aside to get on to the next guest. Felt pretty bad. I was annoyed and asked for the managers card and he said, "Oh here you go and you can take mine too!" As if to say, "I welcome a complaint and here is my name." So, if he's that comfortable treating potential guest like this, then his management must condone it. I will never stay at any Holiday Inn, ever. This is unfortunate for them. GEE, THANKS!I'll The building and folks are nice, here, but that where it ends. The current promotion at HOLIDAY Inn Express is "SNOOZAPALOOZA" and guests are encouraged to bring their "ZZZ Game". It is comical to display such advertisements, since only deafness or ear plugs would facilitate even the possibility of anything close to deep sleep, as this location, as it is RIGHT ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5. Even my friends, who had a room on the side of the hotel not facing the street, stated that the roar of the interstate made it impossible to sleep well. If there is another option for you, take it. If there were negative stars, they would get them. I've been a member for nearly 40yrs, traveled for almost 20yrs solid staying nearly exclusively at IHG properties. I made a reservation using rewards points. Morning of travel, Wednesday, I noticed a credit card charge of $143.00. I immediately called and was told that it was a mistake and I would be credited. Got out the door for a long day of travel across the country. Received a call in between airports from the hotel stating that they didn't have the room that I reserved and would be able to offer me something else. Not an upgrade, just not the room that I reserved. I agreed to that. My fiance and I arrived close to midnight after over 20hrs of travel to get a call from the front desk stating that they were over booked and they wouldn't have a room for me, while I was just pulling into the parking lot. I went inside anyways to talk to the front desk clerk who could only repeat those words again with no offer of any resolution. Their 'offer' of refunding me my unused points seemed more than enough compensation was a bit off-putting. I called the 800 number and had it escalated. After being hung up on three separate times, I finally got a hold of someone in customer relations. They couldn't find me a room within 1hour driving distance even though I was in an urban area. I was forced to then have to pay for a room elsewhere which wasn't in my budget. When following up on Saturday with customer relations, I was told that I wouldn't receive any compensation for the out-of-pocket expense for the room that I had to pay for being told "We didn't force you to pay for a room" So, I made a reservation guaranteed with a credit card, have Platinum status, member for nearly 40yrs, and they tell me this?? What else was I going to do? I suppose that If I would have slept in my car for four nights, that would have been acceptable to them. This negative star rating not only goes to the property in Everett, It goes DIRECTLY to corporate as well NEGATIVE STARS! This reservation was made on line with IHG website as a guaranteed reservation with a credit card. At this point on Saturday, my $143.00 still hasn't been refunded! So... it's all relative, right? Giving an HIE five stars is different from giving the Waldorf Astoria five stars. To me, I travel mostly for work (on a weekly basis) and usually stay at IHG hotels. That being said, this HIE has all the things I look for when debating where to stay next time: - good water pressure - plenty of hot water - comfortable bedding (albeit a bit clumpy) - decent towels - makeup remover wipes (bonus!) - clean carpet - pleasant staff The gym IS small, but it looks like there's a walking path not far away parallel to I-5, so I'll try jogging that next time. A bonus is that any packages mailed here do NOT incur additional "handling" charges. Woohoo! I'd stay here in a heartbeat when visiting for work. read more

Very clean, nice hotel. Breakfast was good and the coffee not too shabby. 4-stars for hotel - extra star given for service experience. What stood out here was the service I received from Tristan, the manager at the desk. I had to wait to check in for about 5 minutes as he was attending to another matter in the lobby. He acknowledged the delay and thanked me for my patience. There was an issue with the room type I was given, which he promptly fixed without hesitation. Apparently I had been booked for a studio suite, even though I requested a separate room suite. He was able to remedy the situation quickly. What really stood out was at check-out. My son wanted one of those awesome cookies served in the lobby, however we were checking out too early to get one. This is devastating for a 4-year-old boy. Tristan visited us at the coffee area in the lobby and I shared the plight of the world for my boy. He quickly remedied the situation with a bag of cookies from the sundries section on the house. Boy was happy, dad was happy. Having done my time in customer service is was refreshing to see such a class act. This hotel has been renovated in last several months and is very nice inside. Room has nice lighting and modernized. TV is good size and reception is good. Water pressure is good on 3rd floor. Elevator works OK. Front desk staff cordial and friendly. The biggest and only drawback with this hotel is access. If you are not paying close attention, it is easy to miss the entrance as hotel sits back off of road. Rush hour afternoon traffic on 128th SW is absolutely awful but surely not the hotel's fault. Morning traffic seems fine. Fast food in area. read more

This hotel is very neat and clean. I've stayed at this hotel 2X and each time I've been warmly greeted upon check in. The rooms are very clean and quiet, especially since it's very close to I-5. The last time I stayed there I thought the prior guests stole the shower curtain. It turns out that they are frequently washed. But housekeeping forgot to return mine. Thankfully I noticed before I got into the shower. They have plenty of free parking and a free continental breakfast. My room came with a king bed, full size couch and coffee table, microwave and mini fridge. A very good deal for about $120. The hotel allowed me to have a 2pm check out. They have free wi-fi! Bonus. We stayed here for 3 nights, it was the 3rd HIE that we stayed in during our week-long stay in Seattle and it was the favourite for both of us (aside from the fact they made a mistake and blocked off the cost of our stay on our credit card even though we pre-paid!). It's easy to get to - just off the freeway, it's not too far from Seattle, so if you're a tourist you get a great hotel with free parking and wifi for a good deal (some city centre hotels charge insane amounts for parking!). From the minute we checked in the staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful and nice - some places tend to frown or treat pre-paid guests as 'less than' but not here! The lady at check-in informed us about the Managers reception (free beer, wine, sodas and delicious nachos - with proper home made chilli in a crock pot!) that was going on for another hour after we'd arrived which we indulged in - it was delicious and fun, the staff made an effort to talk to everyone and were genuinely interested in their guests stories where they were from etc. The room was a king suite - the fridge froze our drinks solid but beyond that the room was excellent, clean, spacious, we had a dvd player in the room and they had dvds for guests to borrow for free behind the check in desk - it was a little noisy at times (trash day, testing of fire alarms etc) but we really enjoyed our stay. We used the hot tub/pool area too, the hot tub could do with being a little hotter and my standard hotel complaints - the pillows are way too soft and the towels need to be bigger than postage stamps! All of that said, I'd highly recommend this hotel and when we go back to the Seattle area, we'll definitely stay here again! read more

We always stay at Holiday Inns. We like the service, usually the beds are good, breakfast is good, and we usually have no complains about other amenities. However, we will most likely not stay at this hotel again. I found the bed too hard, but my husband thought it was a little hard. The Internet connection sucks. Most of the time you get kicked off or are unable to log in. I came here for a conference and needed to work on some stuff on the computer. Unfortunately, connection was so sketchy that it became very frustrating to even try to log on. Needless to say the work did not completed. Overall, the hotel was not the cleanest we have seen. The staff was very nice though, I got to give them that. read more

You can't go wrong staying here. I've been to many hotels some better, & many worse, but what I'm most impressed with these days is a hotel that doesn't nickel & dime you to death. Checking in was quick and the staff was extremely friendly. Let's just run down the list to make it simple... - Free Breakfast - Free Internet - Free Manager's Reception = This includes beer/wine & food... tonight was taco night. It may not be Mexico or even Arizona faire, but Free always beats paying $10 - $20 for a meal that's just ok. There's really no reason for me to give it any less than 4/5... Room is always clean when I return & I like having the fridge in the room to keep snacks, juice and such cool and fresh. Ok, you don't have the consierge service, but the staff is knowledgable enough to know where to go or what to do in the area. I would definitely stay here again if and when I'm in the area again:-) read more
