The Courtyard by Marriott sits in the center of Everett's old downtown. It is away from the freeways, and near to a once down and out downtown that is more and more charming and revitalized every time I visit. The Marriot has 3 floors of underground parking above the tower of rooms. Our room was spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and welcoming. The staff are friendly and professional. They really went the extra step to make sure everything went well. The lobby was comfy, the bar small but well stocked. A very nice place to stay. read more

We had problems with another hotel reservation, so I was glad to be able to book two rooms for Friday and Saturday night here on short notice. It was a rainy weekend and we had a toddler with us, so we appreciated the underground rain free parking with access to an elevator to the lobby. Lobby bar and bistro are open from five to ten with friendly service. The lobby is comfortable seating inside and some outdoor tables as well. Checkin was fast, and we loved the view from our harborside king view room. Our large room had a comfy couch, micro, fridge, and coffeemaker Our stay was very quiet despite being a weekend. It is an easy walk to several restaurants and a 7-11. Since we have family in town, we will definitely stay here again. read more

Leadership & Basics Both Missing at This Downtown Everett Marriott I travel 25-30% of the time for work and was planning to make Marriott my primary chain to build Bonvoy status. After this stay at the downtown Everett, WA Marriott, I'm rethinking that entirely. 1. Didn't honor the room type I booked I booked one king bed directly through the Marriott website. At check-in, I was given a room with two queens instead. For a solo business traveler, that means less usable space and no comfortable place to relax besides the beds--exactly what I was trying to avoid. No proactive fix, no real apology, just "that's what we have." 2. Basic housekeeping failures When I went to shower, the hair conditioner dispenser was completely empty. That's not a gray-area "service preference," that's just not doing basic room checks. There are also visible stains in the hallway carpet on the fourth floor. Even after the empty conditioner was reported, nothing was done to correct it during my stay. 3. Unprofessional front-of-house behavior Multiple times I saw hotel employees vaping directly outside the main entrance. There are plenty of places staff can go on breaks out of sight from guests. Letting employees vape at the front door tells me a lot about the culture and the standards the management enforces (or doesn't). 4. Prepaid reservation + zero flexibility + invisible manager My work here finished a day early. Because our travel has to comply with government-related rules, once the work is done, we're expected to head home and stop incurring unnecessary costs. I asked to check out a day early and was told "we can't do anything, it's prepaid." The front desk clerk went to talk to the "manager" and came back with the same answer: still charging me for the extra night. The problem isn't just the policy--it's the leadership. The manager never came out to speak with me directly, even knowing the answer would understandably upset a guest. Instead, they sent the front desk associate to deliver bad news they had no authority to change. I've led teams for 25+ years; that's a textbook example of poor leadership. You don't hide in the back and make your frontline people absorb all the impact of decisions you're making. Bottom line: Over the cost of one night on a prepaid reservation, this property has likely cost Marriott thousands of dollars in future business from my ongoing travel. The room type wasn't honored, housekeeping missed obvious basics, staff were vaping at the front door, and the manager chose not to face a dissatisfied guest personally. This stay tells me more about Marriott's standards and oversight than it does about any single employee. I strongly recommend corporate review management, housekeeping procedures, and front-of-house professionalism at this location. Until I see evidence that Marriott actually takes this kind of feedback seriously, I'll be re-evaluating where I book my future business travel. read more

Pros: all of the staff members were very friendly and helpful; corner suite had a nice view of the waterfront; got the breakfast-included option (3 choices including oatmeal); secure parking garage; very spacious room and bathroom; comfortable beds; walkable to restaurants, shops, Funko, bakery, 7-11, and 2 antique shops. Cons: parking $19/day; windows weren't soundproof, could hear sirens everyday multiple times, bugle call from the navy base, noisy seagulls, and guy using leaf blower down the street; carpets in the hallways are stained and worn; bathtub drained very slowly and conditioner bottle was empty or plugged up. Would likely stay here again for the location even though the downtown area seems deserted during the day, handful of mentally-ill homeless wandering the streets too. read more

The pros: spacious rooms, indoor pool and hot tub, secure parking garage, clean and comfy rooms Cons: bathrooms on first floor need combination key for use, asking for extra towels, pillows, cleaning service was not always filled properly, staff not always near the front desk We stayed in a corner suite with a view of the water. The room was great, but there were no pillows for the pull out sofa and when we asked for extras, we got half of what we asked for. They have some brass asking $5 for a water bottle, but whatever. We paid a lot to stay in this hotel where we had to ask for a (one) cleaning for the week we stayed there, but spent 3 nights in no where Florida when we flew back and got housekeeping service every day. And the one day of housekeeping- they took away all the towels and didn't give us the same amount back, so we had to ask the front desk again for extra towels. read more

Friendly people staffing this hotel but get used to the idea that you're not checking into a 5 star hotel. I spent around 12 days here total on different weeks and have not been impressed by room service. One time they cleaned my room and just left every type of towel/small towel/floor towel on the counter for me to sort out. They have also not given an extra roll of toilet paper and thankfully I only ran out after my last go at it at the bathroom. Just small things that can easily be fixed. You will also find a lot of their shampoo and body wash no longer on the walls and no one has fixed. Saw this on two different rooms. Free early check in? Automatic star. Arriving earlier than planned, I wasn't sure if the hotel could accommodate an early check in at 10am, especially with a basketball game happening that night I assumed there'd be a backlog of customers. Thankfully they did have a room ready, and I was able to get upstairs quickly. I booked a standard King, and it was a nice surprise that there was a couch inside. Room also had a microwave and fridge, though the coffee bar was odd: one of the packets had a stirrer and the other didn't. Not a big deal, just be careful to check before you throw one out. Another quirk: there was a sticker next to every sprinkler cautioning guests to not use the sprinkler to hang items, as it would cause the sprinkler to activate/flood. Uh, how many guests have done this to cause the stickers to be needed? My floor seemed to have a handful of guests, but I never heard any of my neighbors through the walls, just when they were in the halls. Housekeeping seems start in the early morning (I checked out around 8am, and the front desk radio'd housekeeping that my room was available to for cleaning) and through the late afternoon, which is great if you need anything restocked. Just be sure to put the 'do not disturb' sign outside if you're hoping to sleep in, otherwise they may knock between 9-11am. If you do check in early, be sure the front desk notifies housekeeping otherwise they may think your room still needs to be cleaned. The hotel is pretty central to a lot of the places many may be in town to visit. About a 10-15min walk to the Angel of the Winds Arena, Funko HQ, and Everett Comics. There's a handful of restaurants (though most seem to close between 8-9pm, even on the weekend) and cafes within a 5-10min walk, and a 7-Eleven around the corner if you need any snacks or beverages during your stay. Coming via Amtrak? The hotel is a 10min drive and about a 15-20min walk, however there's some hills so if you have any luggage I'd caution against making it on foot. Also, free wi-fi! Triple check to make sure you haven't left your key card in the room. You'll need it not only for the elevators, but also for one of the doors to get back inside (locks after a certain time, though there should be a worker 24/7 at the desk if you do get locked out). Have an Alaska Airlines credit card? Currently this hotel is part of the mileage plan earning, so don't miss out on earning extra miles. We ended up needing a room at the last minute when our previous plans fell apart. When we arrived on Sunday night we were greeted by Marlene. What a pleasant greeting and process that helped get us back on track for our extended vacation. Our room was outstanding with a nice view of sunsets each evening. We use to live nearby so morning walks through historic Everett homes and even to the waterfront was a great way to start each day during our weeks stay. Marlene was always on her game as a great host to us and when our granddaughters visited. We will certainly plan our future stays here. Love the secured parking as well! read more

Everything was good. I wasn't here long enough to notice anything major. From staff check-in to staff around the hotel and lobby were courteous and friendly. My room was big enough with king size bed, I wished it more firmer for support on the body. The room didn't smell right, but luckily I was able to open a little bit of the window to air it out a little and full blast on air conditioner/heater. The gym was a big plus open 24 hrs. with room key. Also another bonus is the microwave and fridge in room. read more

Recently stayed at this hotel for a conference that was nearby. This was one for the more updated and renovated Courtyard hotels that I have stayed at. Upon checking in, it was a simple and smooth process, but found out that the bar and pool was closed which was a bummer. Either way, continued forward to check-in to the room. The room was nicely done with some odd shaped furniture and placement of outlets. Thoroughly checking the room, I found trash from the previous guest that was missed and hair in the sink and shower. It was a nice touch to see a newer tv that had a personalized greeting (if you are a member, I assume). Other than the minor things, it was great and probably would come back again. read more

We stayed here for a few days while we visited for the Tulip festival. Our breakfast was absolutely scrumptious. Simply dishes made excellently. We had the eggs your way breakfast which came with bacon or sausage, toast and potatoes. Usually I prefer hash browns over potatoes but these potatoes were so nice and crispy. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy and the bacon and sausage were cooked perfectly. The breakfast burrito was HUGE and all of the ingredients were evenly spread throughout and the tortilla nicely toasted. I loved everything we ate. read more

It is a great location to walk around the city for food and drink, and the staff has always been super accommodating to our needs. The hotel lobby was clean and had a huge sitting area with a tv for families and people to sit and even watch tv. The rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. The only downside of this hotel was the pool was way too cold to swim in and the hot tub was out of service. Not sure why the temp in the pool room was at 90 degrees yet you have the pool temp at 50 degrees. Very disappointing for someone bringing kids to swim. read more

Paid for 70+ nights & the conference center yet was double charged rooms, mixed with terrible service, racist remarks & incompetence .. multiple elite Marriott members on this trip felt appalled by the experience. Love the Marriott chain of hotels! Room was very clean upon check in. Secure underground parking is available for a fee ($12). You are also able to park on the street weekdays from 6pn to 8am and all day on weekends for free. Pool isnt huge but could accomodate 8 comfortably. Hot tub fits 3 comfortably. Friday afternoon during the nation wide IT issue I checked into the downtown Everett Marriott. Knowing the computers were down I confirmed my 2 night stay. The girl at the desk says "we got ya". Saturday morning my TV message was telling me goodbye. I called to the front desk and the girl said they apologize and they would correct the problem. About 2:45 a younger gentleman knocked on my door confirming I was checking out Sunday. He also apologized for the computers being down. About 15 minutes later I get a call from the front desk telling me I have to leave , telling me the hotel is completely booked.. umm what? I explained that the hotels computer issue weren't my concern and that I've had this discussion with 3 other employees and they all apologized and said it was being handled. Without any further discussion she threatened to call the police.. again What?? She threatened to call the police because they had computer issues?? I've stayed at that location more times than I can remember. This is how they treat customers ? I'm paying $460 to stay in Everett, Washington to get treated like a criminal? The worst customer service I've had in a very long time. There are other options is Everett.... I suggest you look into ANY other hotel before staying here !! read more

Things just don't work here. I didn't get the upgrade that I was supposed to get. The whirlpool heater doesn't work. They call to tell me my postmates is delivered and I ask to send it up. Get a call 2 min later saying the bistro is backed up and it will 'take a minute' to bring my food. Why didn't they have the delivery person bring it up?!? Also super noisy. Street noise, crosswalk noise, thin walls so I can hear flushing and curtains being drawn in another room. Not a great experience. At first registering for my stay for 2 night a young lady and older man didn't seem too happy to serve me which I felt a little off about. But the 2nd night here Coleen was rad, right away super friendly and treated us like family. We went outside for a bit and even though she had a cane she was on it. Modern, well-appointed, budget-friendly hotel in convenient location in downtown Everett. Went here for a weekend swim-meet/staycation and wasn't disappointed. The extra $10/night to upgrade to a harbor view was worth it, even during the winter, as the view from the 8th floor is pretty nice. Room itself was large, with two queen beds and a pull-out sofa (not mentioned in the room description, pleasant surprise). Microwave, mini-fridge and a Keurig was nice as well. The food options in the bistro are good enough to stay in for, and I like that there are TVs in a few of the booths to pass the time. With our room rate we got breakfast for 4 (2 adults/2 kids) - plenty of hot/cold options. Not going to blow you away, but better than a buffet at most budget hotels. The pool is nice enough size to relax/splash around in and the hot tub was a good end to the evening. Parking was ample/easy to get in and out of, plus pretty secure since it requires a keycard to get in/out and in/out of the elevators. Location's easy enough to walk to most of the things Everett has to offer restaurant or entertainment wise (xFinity arena, the music halls, etc). Only downsides were: 1) The light switches for over the bed were inexplicably behind the headrest pillows. Like someone forgot where the beds were going to be? 2) Iffy wifi, which is pretty depressing considering this hotel is brand-new. I know they don't install it themselves, but maybe they should get a better contractor? I'd go back if I were staying/vacationing in Everett or the surrounding area for sure. read more

Purchased 4 rooms for varying days at the end of September when my hubby and I had gotten married at the Monte Cristo Ballroom. This hotel is fairly priced and is kitty corner from the venue, which made it convenient. The main room we stayed in was a corner suite on the 5th floor. It had a view of the water at a distance. One other room had two kings in a corner on the 8th floor and the other two were 2 queens. Based on family's opinion, they stated the rooms were spacious and comfortable. Our suite was quite spacious, the bed was in its own bedroom. It had a separate room with its own dining area and couch with another TV. Our room also had a doorbell, which came in handy. There is an on/off switch behind the door just in case you get an overzealous individual going around. The rooms are quite clean. However, I didn't find the bed to be too comfortable. It was too soft and lumpy for my taste but that's just a personal preference. There's an enclosed parking garage available for a daily fee. It's worth taking advantage of. The garage is off of Colby Avenue around the corner from the entrance to the lobby. You need a room key to open the garage door and a pass to put on the dash of your car. We sat in the lobby to relax but never ate any meals here. There's a small decent gym and a small pool. All the staff members we dealt with were very friendly, accomodating, and heloful. Especially since I was getting 4 rooms and 3 parking passes, it became confusing (at least for me). The person at the counter was very patient. This hotel is also in the middle of the downtown area of Everett so its within walking distance to shops and restaurants. If there is a need for me to stay in Everett, I would stay here again. read more

I've been traveling in state and overseas for my profession & leisure, and I'm trying to stay at Marriott, as the first choice if possible. Ms. DeVitte, the general manager of Courtyard Seattle Everett Downtown, assisted me in getting a new room because of a malfunction of the TV. She assisted me in having a different room, on the same floor, along with better views, and a functional TV. I thank you again, Ms. DeVitte! The hotel is in a good location, near major roads, water, and parks. The front desk staff is very helpful, professional, and courteous; recognized my Marriott's Bonvoy Elite Status when I checked in. The hotel is pretty clean inside and outside the premises. The parking is in a secure place that is in the garage; it could be tight for large vehicles. The housekeeping is pretty good as well. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a room(s) to stay in for a short period and/or a long period. read more

Stayed here in April for a concert. Booked a King Suite for 4 people well in advance. When we arrive they give us our room and it only accommodates 3 people. Leaving one person without a bed. And cots are not allowed. I go down to the front desk and let the person know the situation. She looks on the computer and offers us the choice of two other rooms to put the extra person. I ask if it's complimentary and she says no it's an additional $160. For something that is not my error! Then she tells me to go back to my room and she'll figure something out. She doesn't come up to the room but calls and offers a piece of foam to sleep on. Not a great way to treat your returning reward members. Two adults had to sleep on a twin sleeper. read more

Overall, I had a really great stay. So let's get to the nuts and bolts of a review: The Good: The hotel is next to the police station in downtown Everett, so you will see an increased police presence (which is always a great thing). Because of the police being nearby, it keeps the tweakers and junkies away for the most part (this was a real problem two years ago when I visited). The rooms are immaculate, and very comfortable. The few problems I did have were just nitpicking really. Such as the lounge chair not having a nearby table to set a drink on etc., There is underground parking (post-check in as you will need your cardkey activated to get in) that has some great security features (IE no tweakers or junkies scoping your car and yes this IS important). The view wasn't bad even on the third floor. I wasn't paying as it was a work trip, so a view is the least of my concern. There is a convenience store on the same block, and it will save you ton of money if you are looking to save a little on food/drink. The nightshift deskclerk is really awesome. I can't remember her name but she rocked and knew many helpful things about travel in the area. The bartenders in the evening and late night are like the most patient people you ever meet. I came in late one night after they had "closed", and she hooked me up with some water even though she didn't have to. Kudos to her for that. It's simple yes, but she really didn't have to do that as she was about to go home. Okay now on the negatives: Tweakers/Heroin addicts. They are there. If you smoke (I don't but on occasion I do when traveling) you will be constantly bothered by them as they walk the streets because you are forced to stand 25 feet away from the building rather than the hotel having a safe sanctioned area for smokers. I would suggest they use the 2nd floor balcony to avoid putting their customers in harms way as the druggies can get dangerous and it puts them in a liability then. People still smoke. Get over it. Traffic on the I-5 and 405 sucks so plan accordingly. I suggest a mid morning flight to Sea-Tac and an afternoon flight on the return to avoid the rush-hour traffic. I have to be in Everett for work often, and learned this the hard way. The whirlpool (hot-tub) works but is barely functional and about the size of a large bathtub. The water needs to be changed out too as it smells sort of dank. Yes it's expensive but that water should really be changed out once a week, and the pump needs repair something fierce. Only three jets work regularly, and the drain made an annoying sucking sound for them to work. So that's my review. Will I stay there again? Yes. It was close to my jobsite, and well...Funko is nearby and that was a great time to be had. The staff is great too. Very nice folks and definitely look forward to my next stay. read more

Stayed for one night and that was enough. The water never got hot for the shower and stayed at an unpleasant cold-warm temp the whole time. Couldn't get warm from the shower. There were crumbs on the carpet so not a good vacuum job by the cleaning staff. Beds were soft. And the area feels unsafe when the staff is buzzing you in at night. I suppose I feel safe in the hotel but while I'm outside waiting to be let in, how safe am I? I can't remember the last time I stayed at a hotel where the front staff needed to buzz me in the front entrance. Staff was very understanding and offered great customer service (though wait times to talk to a live person can be long). read more

We have enjoyed staying at this location before; we live in Everett and have gone to this hotel for a mini staycation and to let our kids swim in the pool. But this time, our stay at the Everett Courtyard Marriott was a pretty terrible experience. Several factors contributed to this. First, the hotel was dirty. BOTH elevators smelled overpoweringly like vomit, and you could see vomit spray on the wall of one of the elevators. I talked to a cleaning person about it and her response was "oh yeah, someone threw up in there last week and our carpet cleaner is broken". That seems like something that should have been cleaned immediately and if the cleaner is broken rent or buy a new one so that it can be addressed. Also the pool walls and grates were visibly very dirty with hair and mildew growing on the plate covers for the drains. When we went to use the pool there were no pool towels, we went to the front desk and were told some would be brought to us at the pool. It took over an hour to get towels, and we had to call back twice to check in and the staff acted annoyed at the request. Also there were several events that happened during the stay that made the hotel feel less than family friendly. I know that Everett has a homelessness problem, and the hotel cant control its location, but there were two people sitting against the glass wall near the main entrance for several hours, smoking something off of piece of tin foil (heroin? meth?) and to get to the entrance of the hotel you had to walk past that area. Even though I understand there is a larger systemic issue at play, I dont feel comfortable walking my kids past people using hard drugs to get into the hotel. Additionally a man approached me in the hotel lobby, and by the comments he made he had assumed I was a prostitute, then realized I was with my young child standing a few feet away and said "sorry, wrong person", the man then approached a different woman who went with him to his room. On the first night that we were there, someone had a medical emergency and there was an ambulance at the hotel and by the way the staff were talking to the EMTs as we walked by it seemed drug or alcohol related. The next morning we saw two men walking on our floor with a plastic bag containing 5 handles of alcohol, enough for 200 shots, so obviously there was some significant partying happening. And as we were checking out there were two police officers talking tensely to hotel staff about some type of problem happening with guests. If any one of those events had happened during our stay it probably would have soured it, but taking it all together was enough to make us decide that we wont be coming back in the future. read more
