We have stayed at Monroe Motel a few times now. Always enjoy our stay. So peaceful, fun and a great get away. We travel from Oregon a 3 hour trip. I stayed in room 7 the last few times. They updated the carpets, drapes and shower curtains. It's so nice and inviting. Never any noise, so peaceful. No maintenance issues or housekeeping. Highly recommend. We were in town for a wedding. Had made the reservations months before. Wonderful, quaint and clean. So peaceful.

If you're ever in the Monroe area stay with our friend Mathew. Our stay at the Monroe motel was every bit of amazing. We will definitely be back!

Overall was a nice place to stay. We had a room with two queen sized beds, a mini fridge tv and big bathroom. I would've felt more at ease if the rooms had a dead bolt lock on them, especially since we were out for most of the day. It was a little warm during our stay, they do provide fans for the rooms, but AC would have been nice. The first night we got there, there was hair all over our bed sheets but we didn't sleep under the blankets cause it was to hot. The maid was by the next day and changed them. The motel is right across from a trailer park but I didn't see or hear anyone. There was also a women staying in the next room who would smoke on the front steps and it would blow into our room. We will defiantly be back next drifting season!

The grounds are incredibly pretty and peaceful--watching the hosts tend to the gardens and feed the chickens was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day. We were so uncomfortable that we decided not to stay, even though it meant driving 2 hours back home, returning the next day for an event, and driving another 2 hours again. We arrived 30 minutes before check-in because it was our first time in town, and we wanted to ensure everything went smoothly. As soon as I walked in, I honestly thought I was at the wrong place. The owner greeted me with a curt "Can I help you?"--as if she wasn't expecting us. I had to ask if I was in the right place, and she just shrugged. She immediately complained that we were early, asking, "Who are you?" and "Have you paid for the pet fee?"--all in a passive-aggressive tone. She told my husband to park "over there, by the pool," but her directions were so unclear that after asking three times, he parked where he thought she meant--only for her to snap that it was her husband's spot. When we saw our room, we were shocked to learn we had to share a bathroom with another guest--something not mentioned in the listing. Our only private area was a tiny bedroom. On top of that, we were hit with endless rules: We could only let our dog outside when her dogs weren't there, using a confusing "light signal" system. Shoes had to be removed at all times. Our dog's food and water had to stay outside. We had to be mindful of her 2-year-old child. The woman we were sharing the bathroom with was apparently afraid of dogs--why stay in a so-called "pet-friendly" place then? To make matters worse, the property is right next to a busy road with no sidewalk--unsafe and stressful for walking a dog. Finally, the bed was disgusting: the sheets were covered in pet hair, and we even found an ear pain medicine packet under the covers--proof they hadn't been washed. That was the last straw. We packed up and left. When I told the owner we weren't staying, she coldly replied, "OK, cool!" When I mentioned the dirty sheets, she just repeated that it was "weird" because they pay someone to clean, without apologizing or offering to change them. I also told her she should disclose the shared bathroom, and she dismissed me with, "That's a B&B thing"--which is false. After reading reviews, I noticed she often claims not to "recognize" guests who leave bad reviews but has no trouble remembering all the 5-star reviewers. Honestly, I don't know how this place gets any good ratings. Believe me--do NOT stay here.

There was no one there to greet us and looked like that they were still getting the dining room ready. The hostess did not come out until five minutes before seating time. I was kind of disappointed since this was supposed to be a special Easter brunch, but there was nothing to indicate that this was for Easter other than a few of the desserts. No Easter bunny, there are a couple Easter egg decorations on every table, but that was about it. Still, the ambience was good, a fancy brunch at a fancy hotel. The wait staff provided excellent service. The food was provided in a pretty good spread. The prime rib and the fresh oysters were probably the standout of the food. I don't know why they only have one person with two tiny hot plates to man the made to order station there for everyone. The family did like the desserts, they were very cute. My wife thought that they were too sweet, but that just means I like them a lot. All in all, it was a good brunch to experience once for a special occasion. No huge complaints here.

Brookside is the cheapest motel in Monroe at about $300.00 per week. I stayed there for about two months. A good portion of the residents had been there for some time and most all of them were friendly. The room I stayed in was facing the main roadway which was Route 2 and it was noisy from continual traffic. It took a little getting used too. The bathroom was super small and the lighting was not that good. I had to bring in a clip-on light in order to see while I was shaving. The TV was old and the programing was terrible. Internet access was bad so I had to use my hotspot on my iPhone to get internet access on my laptop. I spoke to the manager about it several times but he was unable to do anything about it. I believe it was because the room out front was not close enough to the router. Either way the internet service was poor. If your going to stay here bring your own pillows. The pillows were old and not that good. Also the bedding is not that good. To stay warm I had to use my sleeping bag as a comforter. Please don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for. One good thing is there is a washer/dryer on the premise, coin operated. The best thing about Brookside was the manager and the price. It's possible that some of the units in the middle or back may have been nicer or larger. The gas station next door has good coffee and plenty of convenience food. The motel is located close to everything in Monroe so getting around is easy. While there were drawbacks, I would stay there again.

The tree houses are so quaint and relaxing. The property is 420 friendly, so it was awesome to be able to smoke in the tree house, by the fire pit, even in the lounge while getting our snacks/drinks from the fridge. This space feels very cozy and more community-oriented than something like a hotel or air BnB. Pretty close to town, so easy to access anything you might need within a 10-15min drive. The animals on the property were all so precious and calm and curious about us. This was just such an awesome experience and stay! Highly recommend to people who are 420 enthusiasts, chill/relaxed mindset, looking for a quiet and calm stay, and love the outdoors. Not a good place if you're looking for luxury and a high-end boutique stay.
