Amazing staff. Quiet, clean and safe. Central to restaurants and shopping. I stay there regularly for work and they are so welcoming. They also decorate like crazy on holidays!

Delicious burrito breakfast plus they have many more varieties

Very nice property the management was very accommodating getting us all set up in the room we were looking for the breakfast was outstanding with lots of options including things we have never seen before I'll post a couple of pictures but overall the experience was good nice friendly front desk staff the pool area is outstanding and it looks like the new owners have really taken a lot of pride in the property and fixed it up real nice. Thanks limomike

    The entrance!

***** please note how OLD many of the one star reviews are ! It is under new ownership. Also, look at ALL the 5 star reviews. The old ones are pulling the average down.***** I honestly don't know where to start! I've have stayed at several Best Westerns before and some are just ok... but this was BY FAR the best one I have stayed at and one of the best places I've ever stayed. First, let me say that it was especially nice for me as I love Christmas and we stayed just after New Years so please see my photos of their glorious decorations... But I am sure this is outstanding at all times of the year as they just get everything right and clearly spend a lot of what could be profit by making the property a show place. Let me list some of the small details that really added to the experience. First, the staff is SO friendly and helpful. The maid had left a darling bunny folded from a wash cloth and a note telling her name and inviting use to feel free to let them know if we needed anything. The TV remote was in a little sleeve so you'd know it was cleaned. The room was beautiful and the beds very comfortable and the TV was easy to use. There is a beautiful laundry area for guests that seems like a fancy home not just a storage room with a washer and dryer. Out in the lobby, like many hotels, there was a small "store" area. This is usually just aspirin, tooth brushes & a few candies.... But they had a HUGE selection of fabulous microwave meals, fancy bakery desserts, all kinds of beverages. Stuff I didn't even KNOW I wanted! LoL. But the REAL high point was the incredible breakfast. It was like going to a banquet! 3 giant warming dishes full of eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, as well as almost "brunch" type of items like enchiladas and biscuits and gravy. And again with perfect small touches: they had the waffles as they do at a lot of places but they ALSO had it in a cinnamon roll flavor. The butter was room temperature, they had gluten free bread, every kind of bagel & pastry, oatmeal ,cereal and this very deluxe machine for toasting(not a typical 2 slot toaster), the coffee was excellent with choice of flavored creamers. It is all beautifully presented right in the lobby near the fireplace and cozy couches with the desk clerk there if you have any questions. Then you can go into the charming dining room, a long rectangular room with a TV at one end , far enough away so it's quiet at the other end if you prefer the selection of news papers and magazines . It was especially magical to be here at the holidays but I can't wait to go back again. Not far from Snohomish antiquities or perfect when the fair's in town! With all the amenities, it's a great value too.

My room infested bed bugs, left right after getting evidence.

The owners now have done a great job! Nice people, offer a decent room at a fair rate. With the fan blowing @ night our room on the Hwy 2 side - we never heard traffic nor the train. Note that the train thru the valley is a welcome sound to me. I recommend this place if you are looking for the basics.

I have to say that the previous YELP complaints I read about cigarette stank, weed aroma,…read morehole-ridden towels AND the sounds from the number of trains passing thru are the LEAST of the Fairground Inn's problems! On the night of the Bomb Cyclone 2024, we thought we could make the drive to Lake Wenatchee from the SeaTac. Airport but traffic was horrible and the inclement weather was not permitting! According to the Washington Department of Transportation webcam, our future drive thru Steven's Pass was a complete white out with 80 mph winds. While driving, we could hear the wind howling and discovered that a few trees were knocked over, we ran over two of them with our Dodge RAM. It was also getting dark ....so it was in our best interest to turn around or keep going and possibly get stranded or DIE. We ended up turning around in Skykomish and drove to Monroe. We stayed in the ONLY room available in the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in! Since all rooms were booked nearby and we were brain dead, this was our only option. The weather was only getting worse and we were exhausted, it was in our best interest to STOP driving! We stayed upstairs in room 202. Upon entering, my eyes immediately started watering, our room had the most putrid overwhelming smell. It was HORRIBLE! It literally smelled like baby diarrhea combined with the most unbearable floral potpourri. Both smells were equally bad. Aside from this, the carpet was super stained, the fire alarm was ripped out of the ceiling and the underside of the mattress was covered in what was once a puddle of blood and the bathroom door had holes where it was punched and kicked thru. In fact, even our front door looked like it had been kicked in at some point from the repair work done around the door knob. For all we know, that weird pungent diarrhea smell was the smell of the substantial amount of blood on the underside of our mattress (which I should also mention is a major BIOHAZARD that must break a number of health code violations). It's also possible that the gross floral smell x 10000 was obviously an attempt to cover up that smell. Every now and then my bf would start coughing and gagging bc the room smelled so gnarly. I literally could not even breathe thru my nose after an hour (which was a GOOD thing!) bc the potpourri smell was super toxic and full of chemicals! Also, we were awakened at 3am since our dog stood up and growled bc someone was looming in front of our door for 2-4 minutes! Pretty sure the fire alarm was ripped out from meth smoking. When my bf went to return our room key in the morning, he mentioned everyone in the joint looked like a character that hung out in the Crystal Palace in Breaking Bad. He said that a few of them were slamming coffee and hoarding bagels from the continental breakfast. Honestly, that was also not that big of a deal compared to the horror scene that was our mattress and the STANK of our room. I felt like our entire experience could have been a segment from the Hotel Season of American Horror Story. Unfortunately, I am not exaggerating ANYTHING.

There was no one there to greet us and looked like that they were still getting the dining room ready. The hostess did not come out until five minutes before seating time. I was kind of disappointed since this was supposed to be a special Easter brunch, but there was nothing to indicate that this was for Easter other than a few of the desserts. No Easter bunny, there are a couple Easter egg decorations on every table, but that was about it. Still, the ambience was good, a fancy brunch at a fancy hotel. The wait staff provided excellent service. The food was provided in a pretty good spread. The prime rib and the fresh oysters were probably the standout of the food. I don't know why they only have one person with two tiny hot plates to man the made to order station there for everyone. The family did like the desserts, they were very cute. My wife thought that they were too sweet, but that just means I like them a lot. All in all, it was a good brunch to experience once for a special occasion. No huge complaints here.

Brookside is the cheapest motel in Monroe at about $300.00 per week. I stayed there for about two months. A good portion of the residents had been there for some time and most all of them were friendly. The room I stayed in was facing the main roadway which was Route 2 and it was noisy from continual traffic. It took a little getting used too. The bathroom was super small and the lighting was not that good. I had to bring in a clip-on light in order to see while I was shaving. The TV was old and the programing was terrible. Internet access was bad so I had to use my hotspot on my iPhone to get internet access on my laptop. I spoke to the manager about it several times but he was unable to do anything about it. I believe it was because the room out front was not close enough to the router. Either way the internet service was poor. If your going to stay here bring your own pillows. The pillows were old and not that good. Also the bedding is not that good. To stay warm I had to use my sleeping bag as a comforter. Please don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for. One good thing is there is a washer/dryer on the premise, coin operated. The best thing about Brookside was the manager and the price. It's possible that some of the units in the middle or back may have been nicer or larger. The gas station next door has good coffee and plenty of convenience food. The motel is located close to everything in Monroe so getting around is easy. While there were drawbacks, I would stay there again.
