Needs to be updated, reminds me of a nice retirement community with the aesthetics. Bedding definitely needs to be upgraded. Top blankets are snagged and old looking. All bedding is really flat and old. This property could be 5 stars with a room face lift.

9/4/23 finally got an response from BW corporate. Not that it was helpful. The hotel owner did…read moretell them he was willing to make a "one time" exception with a $250 room deposit. He felt that that exception and his "exception" to cancel the reservation and not charge me for a late cancellation fee was generous. Mind you, I made that reservation 2 months before the cat show WITH a notation in comments I was bringing 2 cats, but whatever. Worst customer service all around from Sky Valley Inn AND BW Corporate. ************* I made a reservation on 5/3/23 for my stay on 7/1. I placed in the notation I was traveling with cats. I called on the hotel directly on 6/24 at 6:42 pm and confirmed they accepted cats and I was told yes. I was attending a cat show on 7/1 and received a call from the hotel at 2:30 pm, telling me unfortunately they don't accept cats. I told the gal I had called and confirmed and that I don't know if I can find a hotel tonight and wasn't wanting to drive home. She contacted her manager. Mr. Guzman called me and reiterates they don't accept cats and no one at his hotel would say others wise. I must have called the main reservation line. Basically saying I was a liar, a couple of different times! Then he said again, no cats but for this misunderstanding, he would allow it, if I paid a pet fee, the cats were to remain in cages 100% of their stay and then he added an extortionist fee in them of an addition hefty room deposit! Thank GOD the Evergreen Inn and Suites had a last minute room available. Pet friendly and cat show friendly!

This a very "homey" and family-friendly motel. I lived in…read morethe Skykomish Valley 1986 - 2015 and remember this place being a pig-sty and haven for trouble. The owners now have done a great job! Nice people, offer a decent room at a fair rate. With the fan blowing @ night our room on the Hwy 2 side - we never heard traffic nor the train. Note that the train thru the valley is a welcome sound to me. I recommend this place if you are looking for the basics.

I have to say that the previous YELP complaints I read about cigarette stank, weed aroma,…read morehole-ridden towels AND the sounds from the number of trains passing thru are the LEAST of the Fairground Inn's problems! On the night of the Bomb Cyclone 2024, we thought we could make the drive to Lake Wenatchee from the SeaTac. Airport but traffic was horrible and the inclement weather was not permitting! According to the Washington Department of Transportation webcam, our future drive thru Steven's Pass was a complete white out with 80 mph winds. While driving, we could hear the wind howling and discovered that a few trees were knocked over, we ran over two of them with our Dodge RAM. It was also getting dark ....so it was in our best interest to turn around or keep going and possibly get stranded or DIE. We ended up turning around in Skykomish and drove to Monroe. We stayed in the ONLY room available in the nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in! Since all rooms were booked nearby and we were brain dead, this was our only option. The weather was only getting worse and we were exhausted, it was in our best interest to STOP driving! We stayed upstairs in room 202. Upon entering, my eyes immediately started watering, our room had the most putrid overwhelming smell. It was HORRIBLE! It literally smelled like baby diarrhea combined with the most unbearable floral potpourri. Both smells were equally bad. Aside from this, the carpet was super stained, the fire alarm was ripped out of the ceiling and the underside of the mattress was covered in what was once a puddle of blood and the bathroom door had holes where it was punched and kicked thru. In fact, even our front door looked like it had been kicked in at some point from the repair work done around the door knob. For all we know, that weird pungent diarrhea smell was the smell of the substantial amount of blood on the underside of our mattress (which I should also mention is a major BIOHAZARD that must break a number of health code violations). It's also possible that the gross floral smell x 10000 was obviously an attempt to cover up that smell. Every now and then my bf would start coughing and gagging bc the room smelled so gnarly. I literally could not even breathe thru my nose after an hour (which was a GOOD thing!) bc the potpourri smell was super toxic and full of chemicals! Also, we were awakened at 3am since our dog stood up and growled bc someone was looming in front of our door for 2-4 minutes! Pretty sure the fire alarm was ripped out from meth smoking. When my bf went to return our room key in the morning, he mentioned everyone in the joint looked like a character that hung out in the Crystal Palace in Breaking Bad. He said that a few of them were slamming coffee and hoarding bagels from the continental breakfast. Honestly, that was also not that big of a deal compared to the horror scene that was our mattress and the STANK of our room. I felt like our entire experience could have been a segment from the Hotel Season of American Horror Story. Unfortunately, I am not exaggerating ANYTHING.

There was no one there to greet us and looked like that they were still getting the dining room ready. The hostess did not come out until five minutes before seating time. I was kind of disappointed since this was supposed to be a special Easter brunch, but there was nothing to indicate that this was for Easter other than a few of the desserts. No Easter bunny, there are a couple Easter egg decorations on every table, but that was about it. Still, the ambience was good, a fancy brunch at a fancy hotel. The wait staff provided excellent service. The food was provided in a pretty good spread. The prime rib and the fresh oysters were probably the standout of the food. I don't know why they only have one person with two tiny hot plates to man the made to order station there for everyone. The family did like the desserts, they were very cute. My wife thought that they were too sweet, but that just means I like them a lot. All in all, it was a good brunch to experience once for a special occasion. No huge complaints here.

We've come to Willow Lodge for years for meals and events, but this was our first overnight stay…read more The room was beautiful -- spacious, quiet, and cozy, with a large bathtub that opens toward the fireplace and balcony. Lovely anniversary chocolates too. The lodge has that warm Pacific Northwest charm, with cider in the afternoon and morning coffee in the lobby -- very nice touches. However, we were disappointed by the $35 daily resort fee, never mentioned when booking or at check-in. No one explained what it covered, and we weren't told about the spa, pool, gym, or bikes. The spa had a wonderful Thai herbal massage by Melissa, but the check-in was confusing and the "add-ons" actually shortened the treatment time. The relaxation room felt bare -- no small snacks unless there was an event. The sauna was lukewarm, fruit was mushy, and the fireplace left charcoal stains on my pants. With clearer communication, visible management, and better transparency about fees, this could have been a 5-star stay. Beautiful property, but not quite the experience we hoped for.

Brookside is the cheapest motel in Monroe at about $300.00 per week. I stayed there for about two months. A good portion of the residents had been there for some time and most all of them were friendly. The room I stayed in was facing the main roadway which was Route 2 and it was noisy from continual traffic. It took a little getting used too. The bathroom was super small and the lighting was not that good. I had to bring in a clip-on light in order to see while I was shaving. The TV was old and the programing was terrible. Internet access was bad so I had to use my hotspot on my iPhone to get internet access on my laptop. I spoke to the manager about it several times but he was unable to do anything about it. I believe it was because the room out front was not close enough to the router. Either way the internet service was poor. If your going to stay here bring your own pillows. The pillows were old and not that good. Also the bedding is not that good. To stay warm I had to use my sleeping bag as a comforter. Please don't get me wrong, you get what you pay for. One good thing is there is a washer/dryer on the premise, coin operated. The best thing about Brookside was the manager and the price. It's possible that some of the units in the middle or back may have been nicer or larger. The gas station next door has good coffee and plenty of convenience food. The motel is located close to everything in Monroe so getting around is easy. While there were drawbacks, I would stay there again.

The tree houses are so quaint and relaxing. The property is 420 friendly, so it was awesome to be able to smoke in the tree house, by the fire pit, even in the lounge while getting our snacks/drinks from the fridge. This space feels very cozy and more community-oriented than something like a hotel or air BnB. Pretty close to town, so easy to access anything you might need within a 10-15min drive. The animals on the property were all so precious and calm and curious about us. This was just such an awesome experience and stay! Highly recommend to people who are 420 enthusiasts, chill/relaxed mindset, looking for a quiet and calm stay, and love the outdoors. Not a good place if you're looking for luxury and a high-end boutique stay.
