This is my favorite spot on the planet! The cabin is the cleanest cabin I've ever stayed at. You can tell it is taken care of by the property owner with love. Rita and Scott are accommodating and kind. The river is beautiful, the hot tub is romantic (with a perfect view of the water) and it is perfectly secluded. I did not stay overnight here but I did go through the reservation process including submitting my credit card number, name and address. Basically, the owner made an offer in an email that she did not keep and reserved the cabin out from under us a few days before our trip. Here are the details: I wrote Rita an email asking about the cost for a three night stay. She wrote back with a final cost and I confirmed via phone call. I gave over my full name, credit card info and home address. She then called back and said she was sorry, but the price she'd quoted me was incorrect because she'd based it on two nights rather than three. She owned the mistake and gave me a new price reflecting three nights. I agreed to the new price initially, and she sent over a contract to sign before 7pm that evening. After speaking with my wife, we decided the new price was simply too high so I wrote Rita to cancel. She apologized again and offered one of the nights for free to make up for the mistake. She said she'd email me a new contract to reflect this adjustment. I said that was wonderful. She wrote back shortly after to say that she was sorry, but someone else had begun to reserve those dates and she'd write back if they fell through. Ok? So here I'd gone 95% of the way through the process, received an offer in no uncertain terms, and had it retracted at the last minute ostensibly to earn more dollars from another client. I didn't post screen shots of our emails here as a courtesy. If it's your first time staying here I'd strongly consider other options first given the customer service issues I'd encountered so early in the process. read more

Where do I even start with a review for this place?! My fiance and I were googling places to stay and were originally going to stay at a B&B near Mount Rainer. Then, randomly, we came across the Harmony Lodge website. At first I was really hesitant about it as I couldn't find any (what seemed to be legit) reviews on it and started thinking it was spam and so I contacted the number and was connected with Rita. She is quiet a gem! She was very polite and informative as to what to expect, and let me tell you, we had no idea it was going to be better than our expectations! We ended up staying at the Blue River Cabin out in Gold Bar, WA. The view was incredible! The cabin was incredible! The bed was extremely comfortable! Everything about our stay was amazing! The water was beautiful, the hot tub was relaxing (so relaxing that we dipped in during the earlier hours of the day and then again during the night! and the star view was spectacular!) It was peaceful and our pups seemed more at ease than they usually do at home! (That's another factor that won us over, our fur babies were able to join in on our little "getaway!") The view in the morning was great! We saw so many salmon and geese and even a little hummingbird! I really can't think of anything bad to say about this place or Rita. The only thing I can say is - we aren't big movie watchers, but she insisted on showing us how all the electronics work (even though we voiced a few times how we weren't there to be enjoying technology...we were trying to get away from those things- but I can respect her for taking the time to make sure we know how things work..."just in case we change our minds".) (Also, we noticed the tap water was a little cloudy- but I'm sure it's probably because it's from a well. So if you aren't too keen on well water, you might want to bring some bottled water for your stay...didn't taste or smell funny so it didn't bother us at all.) Price wise, some people would think it is a little pricey (We paid about $275 for one night after taxes and with the pet fee) but I will happily say- money well spent! All in all, It was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Rita, for having such a beautiful piece of property for our entire family to enjoy. If you are looking for a modern, sleek cabin with a convection oven, this is not for you. What it is, though, was exactly what I needed. It didn't lack amenities and the nature surrounding the cabin beats everything. The cabin itself is very comfortable. The only problem I had while inside was deciding which window to sit in front of because the views from each side of the house are spectacular and completely different. From one side, I looked upstream to a rushing stream that makes the most soothing sound. On the other side, the view was a long view to amazing high peaks. I will definitely return!!!! read more

I returned to Harmony Lodge at the end of May and it is just as wonderful as I remember. Rita is thoughtful and helpful, and ensured that we were comfortable and content. My girlfriends and I enjoyed sitting and chatting on the back porch while we watched the natural beauty around us and listened to the creek. I just made reservations for my boyfriend and I to return in early August and I can't wait. This is literally the perfect cabin in the woods... far enough secluded to feel comfortable and private, but not so far away that you feel worried. Amenities are great, the hot tub is always so clean and relaxing and the sleeping arrangements are comfortable. We just spent this last week celebrating our one year anniversary at this cozy cabin. It was better than we anticipated! Loved sitting in front of the fire and watching the river flow by right outside our window. We had the fire going constantly and they provided all the firewood and encouraged us to use as much as we wanted. When we weren't sitting in front of the fire, we were sitting outside in the hot tub watching the eagles, ducks, and other birds. We even saw an otter when we went out for an early morning dip in the hot tub! Spectacular views everywhere we looked. The cabin was furnished with everything we needed. My husband and I had a magical time recently when we stayed at Harmony Lodge. It was everything the pictures on their website made it out to be and Rita and Scott were the best hosts ever! Both of them were extremely helpful and attentive. The lodge was cozy and warm and it has a spectacular view out one window of Mount Baring and from the master bedroom window the gorgeous river. We used the hot tub on our last night and relaxed while we felt the rain coming down and listened to the river rushing by.
