I was really looking for a great taco Tuesday deal. I went to Holé Molé for the first time and wow I was impressed! I got the Ensenada fish and asada tacos, side of rice, beans, chips, salsa, and horchata all for under $10! The service was friendly and pretty quick. Serve yourself salsa bar and plenty of indoor seating. The fish taco was just what I was craving and it tasted great!

This place was a couple blocks from the air bnb my family and I were staying at and we ended up coming twice in the few days we were in Long Beach. Highly reccomend. This restaurant gives authentic Mexican taco vibes. Cheap, quick, and extremely tasty. It's rare to get all three in one spot. In a world of high inflation, to spend the same amount for my whole family that I would for one meal / entree at another restaurant was a relief. The staff was friendly and even helped give suggestions for the best combos too. Can't wait to come back!

Crispy chicken taco was good, small w mighty taste and plenty of cheese

Came here for a burrito but changed my mind when I saw they now have crispy tacos with meat. It use to just be potato & beans, I had to try chicken tacos and it had plenty of cheese & good grilled chicken. I also ordered a flour tortilla taco on a bed of chips. Rosarito taco is huge! Glad they still cary habanero hot sauce, wish they still give yellow peppers but when customers would get carried away and take a lot, I see why they charge now. The meat was plenty but not the biggest fan of over marinated meat, it was still generous portions. Wish I would have ordered a large drink instead of my small jamaica. Their refried beans is good here, fish tacos are amazing and their mini plate is a great combo and the brisket taco has a smoky flavor, impressively delicious. This place is Convenient, affordable and filling.

Tacos chips salsas and roasted yellow peppers

No Stars if I could!!!!! Extremely Disrespectful and Unnecessary Experience. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at Hole Mole tonight. I was having an AMAZING day, genuinely one of the best days I've had in a while, and decided to stop by a place I frequently visit because I was craving a potato taco, chips and salsa, and their yellow peppers. Something so simple turned into one of the most uncomfortable and disrespectful customer service experiences I've had. After placing my order, I went to the OPEN salsa bar and grabbed some salsa and limes, just like I've done countless times before. The cashier who rang me up actually took it upon herself to walk over to me and say, "Excuse me, next time we're going to charge you extra for all those salsas you took." EXCUSE ME? She proceeded to tell me that because I only ordered a potato taco and some salsa, I hadn't ordered enough food to justify the amount of salsa I took, and that next time I would be charged extra. First of all, since when does a customer have to spend a certain amount of money to use an OPEN salsa bar? If there's a limit, where is that policy posted? And why wasn't I informed of this when I placed my order? I have been coming to Hole Mole for a long time, the amount of money I've spent here over the years and NEVER have I experienced anything like this. Nobody has ever approached me or made me feel like I needed to justify how much food I purchased just to grab some salsa and limes. What bothered me the most wasn't even what she said. It was HOW she approached me, her tone, and how comfortable she felt singling me out over something so petty. When I asked for her name, she gave it to me while smiling and laughing, as though the entire situation was funny. The cook was just staring me down along with her. There was absolutely nothing funny about making a paying customer feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, and unwelcome. And I can't ignore how singled out and discriminated against this interaction made me feel. I genuinely question whether every customer is approached and questioned this way or whether I was treated differently. Because in all my visits, I've never witnessed anyone else being confronted over salsa. To make matters worse, the restaurant was closing in about an hour. Was it really necessary to approach a paying customer over some salsa and limes? If Hole Mole has changed its salsa bar policy, COMMUNICATE THAT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS. Post a sign. Explain it at checkout. Don't wait until someone has already paid and then walk over to embarrass them. I came in happy, ready to enjoy my food, and left feeling completely disrespected. I refuse to let this interaction ruin the rest of my night, but I absolutely will speak up about how I was treated. Customer service matters. Respect matters. And no paying customer should be made to feel like they're doing something wrong for using an open salsa bar. Hole Mole, do better!!!!

No fish in fish burrito. I kept looking for some fish!

Fish tacos - Good. This review is specifically for their Fish Burrito. Nothing good about it. In fact, it's 1 star but I gave 2 stars bc their Fish tacos are still good. I didn't get a bite of fish until my last 2 bites. Smallest piece of fish in a burrito filled with fillers. High pass. 10/10 CANNOT RECOMMEND

Very good breakfast burritos in Long Beach! Was recently in this neighborhood and needed breakfast so we finally got to try them. Not as good as my favorite from ChoriMan but not bad at all. Perhaps one day I'll try the tacos.

I had loaded a order to go. After I got my order I asked the youn lady for some salsa and she told me they have a salsa bar and I can help my self I politely asked her for the premade ones already because I didn't feel comfortable with the salsa bar. She was firm and said no. Then I politely asked her to ask her manager and she said no help your self to the salsa bar.Her manager saw what was going on and the manager gave me the salsas I asked for with a smile. That worker was super rude. I order in the past online and on the phone and salsa was always there without having to ask. I was disappointed with the customer service but food is always good

Their burritos are barely bigger than a lighter

They charge for salsa now. What kind of Mexican place charges for salsa? They are gonna nickel and dime all their customers away. Food portions already shrank, and now this. If they keep this up, it won't be a surprise when they finally close up shop for good. Check out my tiny burrito in the pic. Barely bigger than a standard lighter now.

I KNOW they tired of seeing my face. LOL The only thing I think about when I passed this place is...Taco Tuesday. They have the best deals for seafood tacos (under #2.00 per taco) and they are filling. My friend told me about this restaurant, and I've been in love since. Recommendation: Order by phone. It gets busy on a Tuesday after like 3:00 PM. It will be a bit of a wait if you just walk in and order. When I order by phone, I pay once I arrive. It's convenient and my food is ready once I arrive. I have never had any problems with my food even during the restaurant's busiest hours. Parking can get crazy. I sometimes park in the back.

Hole Mole is A-OK as a local favorite for fish tacos. Where it is at its best value is taco tuesday, when you can get their fish tacos for under $2 (see picture). 3 fish tacos are a solid meal. I like to add a few chile gueros on the side for under $1 as their chiles, liberally seasoned with their lemon salt/pepper, is spicy and addictive. I have ordered their asada, al pastor, and carnitas here, but the fish tacos are what I recommend here. If I think of fish tacos, this might be 3.5 stars for me. Why I'm rounding it up to four stars is because the seafood tacos strongly fill a niche in the Bixby Knolls area and it's an unbeatable value, particularly on tuesday.

Legit Taco Tuesday deals, especially for their fried fish and shrimp tacos! And their bean and cheese burritos are underrated and huge!

Will you be open this Sunday, Easter 4/20/25?

Are you open for take out orders?

Anyone know if they are offering call in take out right now? Phone is not working, going to a fax line?

I phone ordered this past Tuesday just fine, with current issues it may be possible they're closed now.

I'm wondering if they are open on Christmas Eve...I'm guessing not?

Is there vegan options?

Not quite sure if there's a vegan option but they do have corn/ flower tortillas with potato or even beans option

The taco Tuesday deal is pretty great! I find myself there quite a bit! Also, the margaritas and other drinks are really good. I finally branched out on a non-taco Tuesday day and the butternut squash enchiladas, and the yellowtail ceviche were incredible..... like to die for. The Lola's margarita is always a hit. Probably one of my favorite margaritas --it's a classic. I recommend the patio area in the back when it's open, but during the heat and the inevitable bug problem that happens during the summer I would suggest sitting inside.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Absolutely fire! This place was a smash hit!!…read more My brother and I came down here for the Formula Drift Championship and Night Lights car show. We were looking for a very authentic Mexican place that was clean and vibrant. From the moment you drive into their parking lot in the rear, you instantly know how much they care about every piece of their entire process. I'm telling you: the manicured parking lot, the detailed attention to us (even though we were the last ones walking into the restaurant at near closing time). They attended to us as if they were awaiting royalty! I've forgotten what real authentic service felt like, and this really smashed it. Beyond that, I can tell you that from the homemade salsa to the absolutely overabundant amount of ceviche, the generous portions of avocado slices on top of it, the authentic tostada, and the fajitas that we split were absolutely over the top. To have any other value other than 5 stars for this place is absolutely mind-blowing! This is definitely a destination location, and I will be bringing my wife and kids to thoroughly enjoy themselves and the quality of food that they have here. This is the Mexican place that has that authentic flavor, that 10-out-of-10 royalty-level service, at a very reasonable value in exchange for everything and more. *To whomever reads this on the ownership side, I personally thank you for the entire process and for the culture that you have created. A restaurant like this, hitting all marks, is definitely missing in our system and society today.

The server's response was, "Well, I will have to charge you for two cakes because you didn't tell me on time." My husband paid for the cakes, of course, but the way the situation was handled was very disappointing and left a bad impression. We chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, especially because we have been coming here for years, and unfortunately, the experience took away from what should have been a happy celebration.
