Margarita
Emily T.

The lady who served us was really nice. I got the wet burrito Carne Asada, and my boyfriend got camarones costa azul basically shrimp wrapped with crab and bacon came with beans and rice. I also got a margarita. Go by here every day to and from work happy to finally try it

Campechana cut in tiny pieces
D C.

Should have known when we walked in there was nobody here and the place was too hot, no AC . Not impressed, stale chips. The campechana came in tiny small pieces, which is not common. My husband had the shrimp and octopus cocktail and said it was fine.

Yesterday I ordered from BS Caldo de res, carnitas garden combo 4,6&8 charged to my visa I paid total of 91.83 plus a$5.00 tip. The order was taken a Maria and they did not include onions cilantro salsa and Spanish rice. The Caldo de Rees didn't have corn on the cob nor Spanish rice. I'm so disappointed. Maybe there's a change of management or something. The beef was also chewy as if they microwave it. Microwave changes the texture of meats and dough as everyone knows. No restaurant worth its name will ever use microwave. You can ask Chef Gordon Ramsey the World famous chef. I ended up throwing away what I ordered. A hundred mula down the drain. Throw away whatever flyers you have received from them.

What I had maneuver through my chile verde. Huge chunks of egg she'll pieces.
Chicora A.

The two stars are for effort. My chile verde had HUGE chunks of egg shell in it. I would've been happy with the food since it did taste good but trying to get through the shells was extremely dissatisfying. I lost my appetite. It was almost like they cooked my over easy egg with the shell. My husband said his over easy was over cooked. He likes a runny egg on his chiliquiles. But overall he said it tastes fine. We have yet to try the chorizo bfst burrito since now I'm not sure I want to eat it. We really were hoping this would be a good spot since it's only half a mile away from us. Not sure we would go back.

Chicken enchiladas
Irma Patricia B.

As I recover from surgery, I always browse Uber eats for different varieties of food to eat.I remember years ago, my ex husband and I used to have lunch at Brite Spot and it was always good. It's been over 25 years and I remember the food being pretty good. I ordered basic chicken enchiladas. I was excited to try them. When I unboxed my lunch, they looked good, the guacamole was brown but underneath the brown it's green so I am assuming that when they sent the order out they were green but the color changed, no biggie, it happens. However, the rice was completely cold, the beans were warm and the enchiladas were sort of cold as well. Delivery time was about 20 minutes, they should have at least been a little bit warm being that they were in a styrofoam package. The enchiladas tasted OK. Not great, just average. There was no wow factor, the enchilada sauce was generic canned, the beans had no flavor and the rice also had no wow factor. I was so excited to try them and I did not really like them. Times have changed, I don't remember the enchiladas being this bland back then. By the way, I didn't finish them. I had maybe half of an enchilada, a spoonful of each of the rice and beans and tried the sour cream. Would I come back? I doubt it. Did it satisfy my appetite? Nope not at all. Summing things up, it wasn't bad but wasn't good. Just below average, kind of meh.

The taco Tuesday deal is pretty great! I find myself there quite a bit! Also, the margaritas and other drinks are really good. I finally branched out on a non-taco Tuesday day and the butternut squash enchiladas, and the yellowtail ceviche were incredible..... like to die for. The Lola's margarita is always a hit. Probably one of my favorite margaritas --it's a classic. I recommend the patio area in the back when it's open, but during the heat and the inevitable bug problem that happens during the summer I would suggest sitting inside.

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.

Absolutely fire! This place was a smash hit!!…read more My brother and I came down here for the Formula Drift Championship and Night Lights car show. We were looking for a very authentic Mexican place that was clean and vibrant. From the moment you drive into their parking lot in the rear, you instantly know how much they care about every piece of their entire process. I'm telling you: the manicured parking lot, the detailed attention to us (even though we were the last ones walking into the restaurant at near closing time). They attended to us as if they were awaiting royalty! I've forgotten what real authentic service felt like, and this really smashed it. Beyond that, I can tell you that from the homemade salsa to the absolutely overabundant amount of ceviche, the generous portions of avocado slices on top of it, the authentic tostada, and the fajitas that we split were absolutely over the top. To have any other value other than 5 stars for this place is absolutely mind-blowing! This is definitely a destination location, and I will be bringing my wife and kids to thoroughly enjoy themselves and the quality of food that they have here. This is the Mexican place that has that authentic flavor, that 10-out-of-10 royalty-level service, at a very reasonable value in exchange for everything and more. *To whomever reads this on the ownership side, I personally thank you for the entire process and for the culture that you have created. A restaurant like this, hitting all marks, is definitely missing in our system and society today.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years, which makes this experience even more…read moredisappointing. We came to celebrate two birthdays with a party of 15, and unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing. Our server Enrique barely came around, and even when we thanked him, we received no response or acknowledgment. Customer service has just gone down the drain! At the end of our dinner, after spending over $600 as a group, my husband mentioned that we were celebrating two birthdays. The server's response was, "Well, I will have to charge you for two cakes because you didn't tell me on time." My husband paid for the cakes, of course, but the way the situation was handled was very disappointing and left a bad impression. We chose this restaurant to celebrate a special occasion, especially because we have been coming here for years, and unfortunately, the experience took away from what should have been a happy celebration. With a large party and a bill combined of over $600, we expected much better service and hospitality. Very disappointing experience, especially after coming here for years. Unfortunately we will not be coming back.
