Staff: Not a good experience here. Walked in and got in line behind a couple and noticed a man off to the right kneeling down for some time looking into a display case. Instead of helping me who was clearly next, the lady turns to help him. Even if he was there before me he was clearly still looking. She should have asked who was next. I said nothing at all but she looked at me a couple of times clearly realizing she did not handle this right. Another male employee came out and helped me. After ringing me up asked me if I wanted a receipt, I said no thanks, and he said, " you're all set". Didn't hear a thank you. Double failure on the customer service experience here. Quality/Quantity: We got 2 cookies and an orange cranberry scone. These were good and a decent size. Value: $12 for the above order so this is subjective. To me it was fair. However, just glancing at the price of coffees and breakfast sandwiches and these prices seemed really good. Overall: Based upon my experience, I will not be returning. Shame as I would have if not for the customer service experience, or lack thereof.

The food was all hot and fresh and really good. The service was great, all of the employees were really friendly and attentive. Nice place to hang out at, lot of families and dogs hanging out inside and on the patio.

Hoffman's is oh so amazing whether it be for a treat and coffee or for some breakfast or lunch. Customer service is great and they have a nice place to sit and eat with a few tables outside. Be sure to check it out when you are in Redmond

Hoffman's used to be my favorite bakery for birthday cakes, but I can honestly say the last few cakes I've tried from them have been misses. I came here last week to pick up a birthday cake at around 1pm on a weekday and had my pick of their 6" daily cakes available in store (Princess Torte, Signature Chocolate, Carrot Cake, Lemon Chiffon, Tricolor Mousse Torte, Strawberry Genoise, Chocolate Raspberry Torte, Tiramisu Cake)- note that they only have one of each available daily unless you order ahead. If you order ahead, they also have other flavors available outside of their daily cake selection. Each 6" cake is $58.95 and serves up to 8 people. As noted in my previous review, the PRINCESS TORTE is what Hoffman's is known for and is their best cake. For autumn, they have a cute Princess Torte in the shape of a pumpkin (same cake and fillings just with a festive look). I've ordered this cake at least two or three times before and this decided to switch it up and try their LEMON CHIFFON CAKE which has sponge cake filled with lemon mousse, iced with vanilla buttercream, topped with rings of lemon curd and coated with croquant (sweetened puffed rice). I love lemon bars and all things tangy and lemony, but while this cake was pretty, it missed the mark in taste. Texture-wise, the chiffon cake layers were perfectly light and airy as a good chiffon cake should be. However, taste-wise, the lemon mousse filling was bland and barely had any lemon taste or tang. It really needed some punchy lemon curd to give it that extra oomph, and I have to say that their lemon curd on top was gummy and tasted more like a sweet lemon gummy bear than lemon curd. The buttercream was not too sweet, but also needed more vanilla- I felt like I was just eating plain butter and powdered sugar without any flavoring. All in all, I unfortunately had to add this cake to my list of cake disappointments (which also include their Caramel Sweet Cream Cake and Coconut Cake as mentioned in my previous review). TLDR- if you want a zesty lemon cake from here, go with their Strawberry Lemonade Cake instead and skip the Lemon Chiffon Cake. OR play it safe and just get the Princess Torte. Interior-wise, they haven't done any renovations as long as I've been going to Hoffman's. They have a case on the right when you enter for whole cakes and cake slices and a case on the left for pastries and savory food. They have limited seating and street parking (although they might validate in the garage behind them- not sure). Service is good and they always have my cake ready when I ordered. My one complaint is that after you pay and sign, the screen asks you for a tip when the only "service" they perform is putting the cake in a box for you to take home. I personally don't count that as actual service since that's part of their job and there's no other way to give the cake to the customer and transport the it home. Thats just my two cents though. Overall: 3/5 for cakes, 3.5/5 for atmosphere, 3.5/5 for service

Wide affordable selection of cookies . We picked up an assortment to bring to an event and they were a hit, especially the Halloween seasonal shapes. The dinosaur ones were popular with the kids! We visited in the early AM, and the employee helping us out was patient as we chose our treats. We will be back!

I think I tried enough items from Hoffman to give a well rounded review. The place is really good but there's better coffee and pastry places in this area. Coffee was good but I haven't found better coffee than soul coffee house in Redmond area. The coconut Macron was bit too sweet IMO. Other items were okay. Service is good - good folks and nice ambience.

Specifically visited Hoffman's to try a slice of their Princess Torte cake. The staff was friendly and service was fast. The slice seemed a bit pricey for $7.25, but it was a tasty piece of cake! It holds up well a day after you take it home and put it in the fridge. Princess Torte Slice: The sponge cake was super soft and moist. I loved the cream--very light. The raspberry jam was nicely tart. Overall, a very yummy bite and good dessert option.

Cute little shop. Ordered quite a few breakfast croissant sandwiches. We waited about 15-20 mins for our order, while looking at everyone around us eat their simple orders. The pastry display looked amazing! Overall the croissants were okay. Not enough meat, I also didn't expect an egg on our sandwiches because the menu didn't say it had eggs. Each sandwich had two poached eggs, it was a little over cooked and dry. I was hoping for a runny egg. No condiments on it. But they did add diced tomatoes and onions if you preferred. But I honestly prefer my veggies to be more full, if that makes sense? Overall the sandwiches were just okay. I got a Dino cookie and it was quite hard and not the best either.

Located on the ground floor of an apartment building, parking can be challenging unless you find a spot on the street or don't mind walking from a public lot. Inside, seating is pretty plentiful with some tables in the center, along the windows, and in a more secluded section behind the coffee counter. Two of us came in to grab some pastries and coffee around 11:00A. We loaded up our tray and headed to the counter where we also requested a slice of the tiramisu from their refrigerated case, and ordered our coffees. + CHOCOLATE SUPREME CROISSANT ($6.59) - This round croissant was filled with chocolate custard cream, partially dipped in chocolate and topped with crisp chocolate pearls. The croissant was light but had no problem holding up to the rich custard which reminded me of a chocolate pudding. I really enjoyed this one! + COFFEE CROISSANT DONUT ($5.99) - When I picked this up, I noticed it had some weight! The cronut was filled generously with coffee custard which was smooth and not too sweet. All the sweetness really came from sugary coffee icing on top. Even though the coffee flavor wasn't very bold and tasted more like instant coffee to me, I'd still recommend. The pastry was flaky and had light layers too. + TIRAMISU CAKE SLICE ($9.25) - Eh, it was just okay. The cake itself didn't have a robust coffee flavor and the layer of mascarpone was way sweeter than anticipated, closer to a cream cheese frosting. To me, this isn't reminiscent of a tiramisu and for the price, I would have expected a larger slice. Others in my family ate the remaining pastries that we purchased (we didn't share, haha), so here are their quick thoughts: + RASPBERRY ALMOND CROISSANT ($6.39) - Advertised as filled with both almond cream and raspberry preserves, but the almond cream was extremely subtle, so raspberry was the dominant flavor. + ALMOND PASTRY ($4.99) - The pastry could have used more almond filling, and it should be spread out more out towards the edges. It had a delightful almond flavor though. + CHOUX CREAM BREAD ($3.79) - This was as expected, a simple soft bread filled with custard cream. + CROISSANT DONUT ($5.99) - A cronut filled with custard cream and topped with lemon icing. It had good flavor! + SWEET RICE DONUT ($3.79) - A chewy rice donut rolled in sugar and filled with red bean. Eat it the same day, while the dough is still soft. The filling did not have the sweetness that you'd expect with a red bean paste... it tasted like just mashed red beans and was pretty plain. We wouldn't select it again. For my coffee, I kept things simple with a decaf ICED VANILLA LATTE ($5.42, 16 oz.). They serve the Lavazza brand, so I had a feeling it would be good. The coffee was very smooth, had a good balance of vanilla flavor and they accommodated my request for light ice well. They have a rewards program (1 point per $1), although points do expire after 180 days. The pricing of the pastries is on par with what I expected, but the cost of cake slices is steep at almost $10 each, so it's a better value just to order a full cake. I'm sure I'll be back again to try more of their pastries... perhaps a savory one next time!

We ordered drinks on the order screens before grabbing a tray to check out the treats. They have a huge variety of items and everything is well labeled! We tried Bacon and cheese bread: 3/5, everything was on top, I think it would've been better with the cheese throughout and warmed Strawberry danish: 4/5! Very yummy, nice light cream and a crispy croissant Egg tart: 4/5! A little less eggy and more custardy than I thought it would be, but tasty! Sugar cream cheese bun: 4/5! My personal favorite! Crispy on the outside bread and soft on the inside, love the cream cheese Ube bread: 3/5, bread was good, but it was hollow with a light swipe of ube on the inside Hokkaido custard bun: 4/5! Super sweet but good! Almost too much custard for me, especially after 5 other treats, but would be great if this was the only one you had! The iced taro lavender latte was delicious!! I wasn't sure about the lavender on top of taro but it was a super light flavor and so good! Caffeine free The prices were great!

85 DEGREE BAKERY @ BELLEVUE…read more Parking at this location can be a bit tricky. This 85°C Bakery is located in a large plaza that's always busy, especially since it's surrounded by popular food spots and restaurants. Because of that, the area can get pretty packed, but I was still really excited to stop by this location. As soon as you walk in, the space feels very open and spacious. I loved how big it was and how many tables they had available. Most 85°C Bakery locations feel more like a grab-and-go spot, so I appreciated that this one had plenty of seating and room to hang out. They also have touchscreen kiosks where you can order drinks and other items without needing help from a staff member. We walked around and looked at all the bakery items, and I'm always a fan of their almond croissants and protein breads. The chicken Hawaiian bun is one of my favorites, and their sausage bun is also delicious it's clearly a popular item. I also ordered their sea salt coffee. If you download the 85°C Bakery app and it's your first time using it, you get a free sea salt coffee, which was a nice bonus. While the food and drinks were great, the service was unfortunately lacking. One customer was confused about her order, and a staff member rolled her eyes at her. The same staff member also rolled her eyes at me and my family while we were in line. Overall, the staff didn't seem very friendly or welcoming. There wasn't much smiling or engagement, and it felt like everyone was annoyed rather than excited to help. We also noticed staff packaging food with boxes out in the open during our visit. I personally think this is something that should be done in the back or at least behind the register, rather than directly in front of customers. Overall, the experience was decent mainly because the bakery items and drinks were fresh and delicious. However, the staff could definitely be friendlier, as customer service plays a big role in the overall experience.
