I like this place! Found some cool artwork I picked up for my new place. I find that they have some things that Michaels doesn't which makes sense for them to even exist. I would say where they beat Michaels is with home decor. I think they are both pretty similar with the majority of their product line. But if I had to decorate a new place that had nothing on the walls or shelves, i'd pick Hobby Lobby. If I had to set up an art studio for fine art, i'd pick Michaels. I will NEVER visit this store again after two times of driving 30 minutes in search of a custom framing person! Both times framers were too lazy to answer bell and they were on duty. 1st time he said he would do it but it wasnt convenient and asked me to come back. 2nd attempt was worse because two framers (original guy and a second one) were arguing over how neither one wanted to help me while I was standing there. I stopped in to buy some Easter basket items and picked up a "Make It Real fashion sketchbook". I didn't realize the one I grabbed was missing a price tag, but similar items were reasonably priced. At checkout, the cashier asked the manager to confirm the price. Instead of walking over to look at the product--despite being only about 12 feet away--he glanced from a distance, checked his phone for a moment, and told her it was $13.99. That didn't sit right with me, so after paying, Something didn't feel right so I went back to check the shelf myself. The exact same item was clearly marked $5.79. I brought the correctly priced item and photos to the manager. He offered no apology and simply said the online price he saw was higher. When I returned to the register to correct the purchase, he brushed it off again, saying the item "must have been marked wrong." The issue isn't just the price difference--it's the lack of effort and accountability. The manager didn't take a moment to walk over and verify the product, didn't check the shelf, and didn't seem concerned about overcharging a customer by more than double. Not everyone can absorb that kind of mistake, and customers shouldn't have to double-check basic accuracy. Do better. Customers trust matters, and so does taking the time to get it right. Customers should trust the store to be accurate and fair the first time. read more

I was quite impressed with all the different items that Hobby lobby has, hobby lobby is great!! Hobby lobby is a Christian based company that is why they're not open on Sundays. I called ahead of time to confirm product availability to justify the 30 min drive. The employees here are marginally functional & on several points attempted to push their religion on to me. Waste of time bait-&-switch to religious conversion instead of intended purchase. If I was interested in converting to your religion, I'd drive 30 mins to a church instead of your store. Having lived in Broken Arrow, OK for 4 years Hobby Lobby was a frequent stop for holiday decor, art and crafting projects. I needed another set of large gold and red shatter proof ornaments and found this Hobby Lobby location via Google. This location is lacks in organization, but with patience you'll eventually find what you're looking for. There was very little interaction with any staff as there really was no staffing available to assist customers with anything but checking out. The value is typically reasonable especially if the weekly coupon is for what you're seeking. Overall, it was a successful and very quick visit if you're seeking holiday items that is not fragile, and reasonably priced consider Hobby Lobby. read more

Lots of fun stuff. It's hard to find Christian decor, so I usually go here for that. However, when I went to check out the experience was less pleasant. Matt was my cashier and seemed to be in a bad mood. My friend noticed that a bottle of essential oil I was buying was 1/2 empty and went to grab me another one. She saw that all 3 were almost empty and brought them to him, to tell him that they were damaged. Halfway through him ringing me up he grabs all 3 bottles of essential oils and rings them up! And I said oh we brought them so you could damage them out, I don't want them. He smiled at me and put them in my bag. (????). $15. I go to pay. Pull out my phone, I use tap most of the time. He goes "We don't have tap." And smiles at me so condescendingly. My friend had to pay for me. He hands me my bag and goes "Have a good night." and completely ignores my friend who was also holding items to buy. He took over 10 minutes to ring my items up and I had maybe 10-12 items total. When he rang her up, her card declines, which was an oops. Wrong card, whatever. He goes "It declined." And she's like oh sorry, it said approved on the pad. And he says "Well it declined." Anyone that has worked in customer service ever is cringing rn. He really made the whole experience so bad. The fact I paid $15 for stuff I didn't want when we explained to him 3 times that they were half empty bottles and we weren't getting them is so irritating. Completely ignoring us while literally smiling in our face. Absolutely uncanny. I will go return the essential oils another day. I was in the Seattle area for two weeks for work and I wanted to do my hobby during my down time. I bought some E6000 and two matte tumblers. I was able to add rhinestones to tumblers. I love doing that. It helps to calm me down after a stressful day at work. Hobby Lobby was only around the corner from my hotel. I was so lucky! It really helped me a lot because my work is pretty stressful especially in a completely different environment/different state. I was always in traffic and I'm not use to the RIGHT TURN only on the streets. So my hobby really helped me a lot. I like hobby lobby because I'm familiar with their sales. I got a Cricut permanent vinyl for $3.95. Lol I didn't have a Cricut machine in Seattle. Maybe I need to buy a Cricut Joy - smaller machine. Hobby Lobby is awesome. read more

Enter at your own creative risk. This place is Disneyland for DIY projects and craft-a-holics. There were rows and rows and rows of scrapbooking supplies, yarns, ribbons, floral items and much, much, much more. Each area was nicely arranged by category. Christmas items were 40% off. We were on a wedding ceremony & reception mission. There were lots of ribbons, floral supplies and all things wedding! Nothing was out of place. We were able to check off lots of our decorating "to do" list from this store. If I weren't flying, I would have bought more items. read more

I was charged full price on items marked %50 off although I asked before completing the transaction if the discount was applied. When I received my receipt i was changed the full amount and the cashier made a snark comment that the system applies the discount however he entered it in the wrong category which is why i was charged $30 extra. I turned around upon receiving my receipt and realizing the discount was not applied. The cashier had no remorse didn't even apologize and he told me to just go over to his coworker. She had no idea what was going on or how to do her job. After about 5 mins the manager finally stepped in. There systems are extremely outdated and slow. Employees should also be reminded how to be friendly especially after an error they made. read more

Hands down the worst experience at hobby lobby ever. My son who had been saving his money to buy a model car he saw had finally saved enough money to buy the car. When he got home he started putting the car together. He had almost completed the car when he realized it was missing a piece. So we told him we would return it because it was incomplete. First thing we did was contact customer service who told us it was not a problem and asked if we still have the receipt. We said we did and they instructed us to go to a store for the return. So today my mother took my son to do the return, and were told "No it is not our policy to return opened items. We can not resell it if it is open" upon the shock of the answer my mom asked for an explanation, and they were met with a rudeness like you would not believe. Rhonda told her again that isn't policy. Here is the policy from Hobby Lobby Website With the original receipt Within 90 days of purchase, we will gladly exchange the merchandise, give store credit, or issue a refund based on your original method of payment. There will be a wait of 10 calendar days on check purchases, or merchandise credit can be issued. My mother said that none of this made any sense, and asked if they are suggesting that her and her grandson are lying....and all Rhonda did was look at her. My mother told her that corporate told them to come to the store for a refund. Again Rhonda said no. So my mom called corporate explaining everything, they told her to hold while they called and told Rhonda to please process the return. Well Rhonda did the return and was not happy. My 8 year old son said she was so mad. Thank you corporate for doing what what right. We will never return to this location again. Very friendly and helpful employees. I went to this location because it's the closest to my home and I was hoping I could find a set of 3 large mirrors. Unfortunately this location only had 1 in stock but they offered to call one of the other locations to find out if they had any. The employee was able to find 3 at the Lynwood location and although it was close to closing the employee convinced me that I would make it time and did. I'm a huge Hobby Lobby fanatic. BIG TIME. I went to their stores for years in Utah and when they opened up the first store in WA in Lynnwood I lost my mind. I came to the Everett store for the first time and enjoyed the visit. This store is smaller compared to the other Hobby Lobby locations in the greater Seattle area and is actually the smallest one I've ever been to. Still, they have a good selection. They have a good selection of material, floral, and seasonal items. They also have a great supply for scrapbooking, card making, wood working, painting, framing, jewelry making and miscellaneous things like kids projects, story boards, and party supplies. In addition, they have a good variety of household goods for decorating or use in a wedding such as candles, vases, candlesticks, letter sorters, mirrors, pictures, signs, and much more. Custom framing is always 50% off! They can do it for you while you wait in about 1 hour or you can drop it off and come back in about a week. They have sales all the time. Check out the sign posted near the entrance to see what's on sale when you visit. They also have a stack of flyers to take and use while shopping or take home. I dislike their website; it's pretty much stuck in 1999 so not the best for online shopping. Hobby Lobby has an app for your phone that gives you 40% one item any freaking time! Use it! Classes are also available. Learn how to decorate a cake or paint with acrylics. Remember that Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays and they close at 8 PM - different than all other retailers that typically stay open till 9 pm and are open daily. This is to give their people a day of rest with their families and to make sure folks aren't working late at night. I find that refreshing. read more

To the manager Teresa in the white sweater - I came to browse and relax and needed to use the restroom. When I approached you and asked for the code, you looked me up and down and very obviously judged how I looked. You said you would let me in and as I followed you you said "we are moving towards not having a public restroom anymore just so you know" You reluctantly let me in and I was pretty upset. I'm an artist and am in the middle of a day of working....I didn't get dressed in my best clothes to go pick up something I needed to continue. I'm not saying it was on par with the Pretty Woman moment (you are the snob in this scenario) but as a woman who comes from an Evangelical Christian background and a Customer Service background, you might want to be a little more aware of how you treat others. I just left the store. I bought a couple of items and asked to use the bathroom, which I was told is located at the back of the store and someone would be called to let me in. After the purchase, I went to the back of the store, bit no one was there. I called out and no one came. The was a lady employee a few feet away, on her cell phone, that did not respond and a man walking by that said he woul be wirh me after helping another customer. I recently got my hair cut real short for the summer and I truly believe these employees did not want me to use the bathroom because they believe I am not a heterosexual, which I am, have two bio children, and have been happily married for over 34 years. I will not abide by any discrimination of ANYONE, FOR ANY REASON. Having to use the bathroom is a basic human need. I went back to the cashier and returned items purchased and will NEVER be back. I go back and forth with how I feel about Hobby Lobby. Here's some pros and cons: Pros: 1. Huge selection 2. Close to my house 3. Prices are decent 4. They have coupons all the time Cons: 1. A lot of products are cheaply made in China, etc 2. They don't have sale items in their computer system, so staff has to look at the flyers - good chance of error if you aren't paying attention 3. Not open on Sunday 4. Company suing to not have to pay for birth control for employees as part of insurance 5. Company is insanely conservative and supports lots of political and religious cause I do not care to support 6. The overboard Christian music and decor everywhere kind of annoys me, well really annoys me. If I wanted to shop in a Christian store I would go to Family Christian Books. So in essence, I can sometimes get good deals at Hobby Lobby, but I always feel guilty for having gone...not worth it most of the time. read more

Went to return an item that had broken in the bag with other items because they never got wrapped. They wouldn't exchange for exact same item. Megan finally said yes but for only half the price credit back! Therefore raising the overall price 50 percent when all is said and done. I refused to be taken for granted in this manner. I had other items equaling to over $50 I was going to buy but did not. I went to dollar tree and bought crazy glue and it's fixed! Will not be back. So normally I would give this store 5 stars... because HOBBY LOBBY is AMAZING, but I did experience some not-to-be-desired customer service. So I took 2 stars off. So here is my experience: I asked a woman working where a particular item was and explained I knew I wasn't in the right department (HEY I just found this place! I don't know my way around yet!), but could she help me anyway... So the woman brushed me off and told me to go look in that particular department. I asked where the department was, she just pointed and went back to work. WHOA. Not the customer service that the Lynnwood store has. I was really shocked. But I found my item with no further help from ANYONE. Where are all the employees?! The budget for staff must be not as big for this store as the other... because Lynnwood has employees EVERYWHERE begging to help you!!! The cashier was efficient, but nothing to write home about. Needless to say, I will be back... because HOBBY LOBBY is amazing, but I will NOT go for the EVERETT customer service. YUCK. read more

I went here to return a defective item and all three employees I had the unfortunate opportunity to come in contact with were rude, condescending, and just snippy. Worst customer service I have ever had and I'll never go back to that store again. Night manager on Wednesday nights should NOT be dealing with the general public, she is extremely rude. Because Hobby Lobby doesn't have an effective return policy, the staff don't know how to perform the return and they made me feel like it was such a burden to return a product that didn't work. It is a decent store with a pretty wide variety of items. They have sewing stuff (not my thing), model items, I can't say everything. I like it, but be careful outside and watch out for beggars. The reason I give it 3 stars is because the staff are slow, and my personal experience: I went inside, got stuff, and when I check out, the employee forgets how to scan an item and do stuff like that. I will not patronize Hobby Lobby. I did investigate the store when it initially moved to my neighborhood, found a lot of stuff there, noting the slightly better selection of consumer grade art supplies than Michael's has, but nothing like the true art stores that are being forced to close by the emergence of the chain store. I found the overtly fundamentalist christian mindset to not only be most intrusive (and actually quite "thick and sticky" well beyond the distraction of the christian music broadcast over the store loud speakers. And since I'm obviously not of that perspective, I found myself being treated rudely, and dismissively by the staff, who showed obvious preference for "their friends from church" when it came to answering questions and how long one waited to check out. I noted both that there was a restrictive range of decorative items sold as I observed both the limited selection of Halloween decor (limited to the simplistic and all too cheery) and recalling the complaint of one of my coworkers, who happens to be Jewish and went there looking for a menorah and greeting cards for Hanukkah, only to be told by a staff member that since "the founder objected to such things, they would not be serving that element of the population". You also do NOT want to be a gay or transgendered person in that store... They will not treat you well in any sense of the word. Upon discovery of their published objection to giving their female employees proper health care, I realized this is simply another predator organization - along the lines of walmart that I don't want in my neighborhood. Over all, I find this organization to be divisive and disrespectful of the diverse community that lives in South Everett, and having my Muslim, Pagan, Jewish and atheist friends disrespected, disregarded and simply dishonored goes against all the good that goes on here. So I'm a huge Hobby Lobby fan... I shop there pretty often, and absolutely LOVE their products! HOWEVER, I am extremely upset with their customer service! I cannot believe they would treat their customers the way they do! So... with the crazy holiday rush and having a ton more things to do - I asked my husband if he could stop by Hobby Lobby and return a few items for me. In a rush - I gave him what I thought was the correct receipt (for 2 of the items, I knew I didn't have one for the third). And of course since I was the one who bought the stuff it was on my credit/debit card. Anyway, they accused him of trying to pull a scam!!! They said that they checked their cameras and we were buying completely different items that day. Plus, they couldn't find the items on his credit/debit card. Not only that they were accusing him of using the paintbrush, and then trying to return it. When we bought the paintbrush it had a dab of paint on the handle!!! I don't know if anyone reading this review has ever gotten accused of scamming/stealing when you know you're a pretty honest person.... but it is HUMILIATING!!! And really???? For some meager $25 something dollars?? Come on. So if anyone in Hobby Lobby HQs ever reads these reviews... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell your employees to get their facts straight before they accuse anyone of stealing/scamming. At least try and be a bit more polite. You're not the only craft store around. I really like hobby lobby hut have a few complaints. If you can have it 50% off every other week why don't you stop raising the price to only lower it and just keep it at the lower price. They don't use scanners they manually input each item, and if they don't know it's on sale you don't get the discount so you have to keep a close eye. Also it takes waaaaay longer to ring up your purchase. I also hate that it's closed on Sunday, most people are doing crafts that day. read more
