So I gotta give some background on me first. . . Culinary school in '98, subsequent career in luxury restaurants and hotels. 3 star Michelin, Beard, Pell 50 etc. . . This is one of the best operations I've ever experienced. From the spot on flavor combinations, execution, value, awesome app.; this place is the bomb. I had three of the best sandwiches of my life today!!! This place is insanely good. I had the dude ranch, brisket and forbidden chicken on the Portuguese rolls. The Mac and cheese was also fabulous. My sister found this spot after spending a day at the beach and what a cool find. We went during the week around 3 so it wasn't too busy. I imagine it gets pretty packed during peak lunch hours. I had the forbidden chicken and the fried mushroom. We also shared some Mac and cheese. I think I liked the mushroom sandwich better than the chicken although the chicken had a nice glaze. I think there just wasn't enough slaw. That griddle Mac and cheese though was soo good. The fries were yummy too. read more

Love this place!! I work in Belmar and my co-workers and I go here often for lunch. The menu is simple, but the sandwiches are packed with yummy flavors. My favorite is the eggplant sandwich. It's pretty delish. The bread is the best part! Sandwiches are small, but will easily fill you up. I would love to see more vegetarian sandwich options on the menu! Stellar place to come for a bite! I first tried this place in early 2020 as they participated in the Belmar Dine and Discover and I got to sample one of their sandwiches. I've been itching to go back since. On this visit, I tried the forbidden chicken sandwich and my goodness was it delicious! It was so saucy and the glaze had a nice kick that wasn't too spicy for me. The bread was very soft. My boyfriend got the finger licker sandwich and was obsessed with the roasted garlic Mayo. They both came with some sort of aioli sauce to dip the fries in. The fries were amazing and very crispy and evenly salted, but we both wished the fries were cut a little longer (they were cut in itty bitty pieces). Because of Covid, the plaza converted part of the parking lot into a makeshift outdoor seating area and it was nice to eat outside on such a gorgeous day. Also, we were given risotto balls to make up for a confusing moment at the register and it was so thoughtful. We appreciated the kind gesture and the service they provided and the risotto balls was the icing on the cake to the experience. I can't wait to return! read more

Definitely a tasty experience! It's true the sandwich is small but the flavors are big. The sandwich with the ranch was delicious. It was 4 of us and we all enjoyed our sandwiches, I wish I knew the names of them but I'm sure whatever you decide on you will not be disappointed. This place did not disappoint. If your a sandwich love of bacon or chicken. These will hit the spot. With the burger go with the double not the single patty. With the fries eat them while they're crisp and hot. The parm really cheesy making it salty. For anyone with high blood pressure choose with caution. Everything was great and the price was right. My husband and I have been here 4 times. Each time we have enjoyed everything we ordered. The grilled chicken sliders are delicious. Everything on that sandwich works-- from the melted cheddar cheese and herb mayo to the crispy bacon and soft potato roll. The fries are wonderfully crispy and salty. Never heard of this spot until went DTS to visit my cousin. He decided to take me to Hoagitos. I wasn't expecting much but that took a complete 180°. A small comfortable establishment with a small menu is always a positive thing for me when I walk into somewhere new. I come here for lunch as I work in the area. This is by far my favorite food for lunch! The sandwiches are delicious and the flavors really work together. I usually get a sandwich with a side of fries and it fills me up every time. My favorite is the forbidden chicken but all the fried chicken sandwiches are tasty. I also really enjoy the pork sandwich too which is my girlfriend's favorite. The service here is always great. The workers are friendly and they get the sandwiches out fast. I get this place for lunch at least once a week. My girlfriend will request me to pick this up for dinner and it's still good after my 45 minute drive home. This place is delicious! I stumbled upon it yesterday because I wanted something quick and we ended up loving it, so much that we came back again today. The sandwiches are a tad on the small side (hence the name hoagitos) but it's the perfect size if you don't want to leave feeling stuffed. We pride ourselves on quality made food- we roast our own lunch meat, hand cut our fries, make our meatballs from scratch, and prepare all condiments in house. Our bread is baked fresh daily from a local Italian baker.

Established in 2013.

Hoagitos came to life summer 2013 on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. In 2014 we were voted Top Dog of Boardwalk Eats and one of the top 20 restaurants in NJ by NJ.com, and in 2016 we opened our first year-round location in the Belmar Plaza.

Meet the Business Owner: Terence M.

Terence has been cooking since 8 years old, first making crazy concoctions in the kitchen with his dad, and later at the delicious Brandl restaurant in Belmar. At age 21, Terence, along with his sister and brother-in-law embarked on a mission to make amazing sandwiches. Since then, he's earned his culinary degree from the International Culinary Center in New York and worked under Iron Chef Marc Forgione at his name-sake restaurant. We love dogs and they had a ton of dogs inside, so we were in heaven. 10 beers on tap, plus one seltzer, and a nice variety in the list. I liked that the list was broken down by types of beers (easy drinking and crisp, hoppy and hazy, dark and strong), and each beer had a detailed description next to it. This should honestly be the norm for breweries. We each had a flight so we were able to sample most of the menu. The beer was pretty good. We enjoyed all that we had, but nothing stood out to us as super memorable. We live on the other side of NJ, so we can't be regulars, but we would definitely stop by again the next time we're in the area.

Granted it is a bar tavern leaning on sports bar. I can't judge on its earlier days, but it appears the exterior has been updated. It's a typical bar with large screen monitors showing NFL on a Sunday. Walked in around 645. Most folks were around the bar watching the games , and maybe half of the tables at most were occupied so was seated right away. Based on reviews we came for steak options. We were not disappointed in the least bit. Granted they forgot to bring out the salads, as our food arrived 20-30 minutes after ordering. Started to think this is not good with waiting and not seeing much food being brought out. When our plates came we were impressed with portion sizes and food looked real tasty. Very nice presentation for a tavern. Ribs and wings combo was very good. Wings were perfect for Buffalo style. An option for hotter flavor would be make them shine even more. Rib eye steak was was cooked perfectly but a bit light on flavor. Servers were attentive except for the missing salads. We had no room for desserts whatsoever and ended up taking home much of the meal. Really surprised by this place. Well done "Patrick"!

As I was leaving, I saw Seagrass! Linda was exceptionally nice as she had people sitting outside to get in! I was a party of one and sort of in a hurry!
