However the greed cannot be overlooked. There are other fine restaurants that deserve my patronage.

Plenty of towels, basket downstairs of shampoo/towels for post-beach shower even after check out, small library , fun and funky art on walls, laid-back and young, fun staff; dog Roscoe who hangs out, 100 nooks and crannies, both indoors and out, to hang out. Yogurts, various pastries and coffee/juice included. Towels for beach and big quilts if you want them. Just a great wraparound service place at the beach. The air conditioner is ice cold for those who need it, and they have a cool system where you put a little cap into the vent and you can block the air as well. Easy! Cons- The bed was not awful, but one of the less comfortable beds I've slept on in a lodging I've paid for. Also, no bathtubs. But I didn't ask. Oh, and if you go on Sunday, be aware that in this believin' town, the beaches are closed til post-worship 12:30 pm. Next time, I'd book earlier, skip the ocean view, and get the room with shared bath- that would be a real steal at the Ocean Vista! Will be back...

Angie, Lala, Chris, Grandpa were all very kind & went out of there way to make your time there special. They always had candy in a bowl when we'd arrive back "home" in the evening. We had 2 refrigerators, 2 sinks & a most comfortable 4 poster stunning bed. Lots of towels to use. And they offered beach passes at a great disct vs paying on the beach. You can't use a scooter in Ocean Grove but you can in Asbury Park. Tho everyone rides bikes in O.G. If u want to RENT a bike, go to the Hardware Store on Main St, right off Atlantic Ave. It's a fabulous way to ride thru all the little towns. Also, the walk to the water wasn't that far from the Hotel. Which by the way has tremendous history as does so many of the towns & buildings. We stopped at Miss Elli for the most fabulous jewelry & hats & all things fabulous! The Balingdon B&B was astounding dinghy! They overnited our charger! I hurt my ankle & they went above & beyond!

Celtie loved life and brought so much to our lives. We needed to smell that ocean air, feel that warm ocean breeze across our faces... and reflect on our life together with Celtie... those 'special memories' of Celtie with us ~ at the seashore! Staying at the Shawmont Hotel, with that beautiful view of the ocean, was so peaceful. Joanna, the manager, efficiently had everything in place for us and her staff are wonderful people. Susan, who is such a beautiful person. Lisa, who has such compassion for people who have experienced a great loss with a loving pet, offered us a site to go on to for healing: Rainbow Bridge. It is a beautiful site and is indeed helping us. Katherine, Eileen, the night manager, and anyone who sits at that front desk is a joy to speak with. We also would like to commend their helpful and extremely friendly housekeeping staff. We'll be returning in August and look forward to another pleasant vacation. This place promotes itself as being family friendly, but our experience was far from that. We are a family of 6. Rented two rooms. We came for Bridgefest weekend and for 3 of us to be baptized in the ocean. That was wonderful and memorable! However, or experience at this hotel was not wonderful. We were nagged by the staff about noise level, even in the middle of the day. They couldn't just tell the other guests that they had spoken to us? No, they had to keep reminding me. The kids were well behaved and just excited to be there! There were no other young children that we saw staying there. As soon as we were baptized I came back to the room, and was reminded again about the noise level in the middle of the day when it was pouring outside. We packed up and checked out a day early knowing that we were going to be stuck inside playing board games the rest of the night. I've never paid so much for two hotel rooms for 2 days and 1 night. If you are looking for a place to stay with young children, look somewhere else.

Our room, the common areas, the verandah, the breakfast, and the hospitality were all outstanding. I couldn't have been more pleased. Our room, the Savannah, was one of the smallest in the Inn but it was still surprisingly spacious, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully appointed. The mini-fridge was a nice touch (we stocked it with club soda and wine); the shower had plenty of water pressure and hot water; towels were fluffy and plentiful; bedding was comfortable with a pillow top mattress, lots of pillows, a summer-weight down duvet and fresh cotton sheets. Although the room offered air conditioning, we opted for open windows and the ceiling fan. The basket of magazines and bookshelf of paperbacks in the upstairs hall was a stroke of hospitality genius. Ditto the fresh-baked cookies in the dining room in the afternoon... and the cold bottled water for the beach. These small mindful touches were very much appreciated. A number of very nice amenities were available, including loaner bikes, free beach towels, chairs and badges. The hosts, Chris and Debbie, were thoughtful, friendly and unobtrusive. They made us feel absolutely welcome and comfortable without overwhelming us. The full breakfast was fresh, yummy and plentiful -- and served at a human hour (9am - 10am). For early risers, the coffeepot is perking by 6:30am. We plan to visit again and I absolutely recommend the Atlantic View Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing beach-side stay at the Shore.

The innkeepers and owners are so charming and friendly, and they really want to make sure everyone has a good visit to the shore. Though I only stayed one night in the Cape May room on the 3rd floor, I really enjoyed my time at the inn. I loved the huge wrap-around porch and the comfortable homey feeling in the main living area. I also really appreciated that they had "Shared Book" shelves all around the inn on every floor.

The weekend I stayed there, Jeremy was on duty and he was very helpful and courteous. Our room was lovely and our bathroom was huge. The porches on multiple levels are so nice and a great spot to relax. We paid such a great price for being so close to the beach and on a main street of town. They have AC too, which is really nice and not found in every older house/inn around town. I hope to return to The Quaker Inn and explore more of Ocean Grove!
