It's incongruous, and I felt like rushing into a bathroom to put on a designer suit and a shirt with cufflinks. The omnipresent T-shirt and shorts of Asbury Park seemed out of place, but that's the uniform on the Shore, and the Ocean Club was no exception. A piano man was singing in the second-floor lounge, and his lovely voice and keyboard playing filled the elegant wood-lined rooms. He was fantastic, as was the interior of this zen hotel. It was the epitome of modern luxury, and the expansive space had the perfect lighting, transporting the patrons to a world of peace and relaxation. The Jersey Shore was in a different hemisphere. Well, until we encountered the lackadaisical service, which would be more appropriate at one of the tiki bars on the beach. I literally had to search them down to get our drinks and to retrieve our check. The prices were quite reasonable for this kind of place.

Splinter HELL, I hope you don't want ice…read more This hotel was fantastic at first, especially the corner pool terrace suite. Easy access to the pool, large and lots of light. But my god, it is splinter hell. Us, along with 3 other families that we knew of, were realizing at the pool that us and our kid's feet were completely full of splinters. We spent a total of about 3 hours at the pool over 2 days and my four year old had over 50 splinters in each foot! I had about 10 and spouse a few less. My four year old will not even let me look at his foot, nevertheless remove the splinters - yeah right. I think we are going to need to get sedated. This has ruined the stay to be honest. The hotel also didn't have tweezers. At least two families complained and nothing seemed to be done about it. The deck is extremely dry. This wouldn't be a hard problem to solve. ICE. I requested ice about 20 different ways, because there is no ice machine so they say just request it: - through the app on their tablet (3x, nothing) - through calling the front desk (2x, nothing) - in person at the front desk (2x, nothing) - through text to the front desk (4x, nothing) - in person to the person that came to the room one night (2x, 1x worked!) I got ice once, woohoooooo! The tablet is a joke. I needed an extra bedsheet and requested it through the tablet and it never came. In person at the front desk it did, however. Beautiful hotel, but the splinters ruined it. You could not pay ME to stay somewhere that my autistic kid gets 100 splinters in his feet. The hotel is feeling a bit neglected in some ways. Our "terrace" had algae on the deck area, one couch cushion had a big brown spot and there was half of a DEAD BIRD on our terrace. It was there the whole time. Of course my 4 year old was enthralled.Yay.

I'm convinced that people who leave poor reviews for motels don't realize what they're getting…read morethemselves into. Seaside isn't Martha's Vineyard or the Hamptons. You're not staying at the Ritz Carlton. Yes, the Sunburst Motel probably needs renovating since it was last decorated decades ago. Yes, there were cigarette burns in the bedding. However, it's clean for the most part, which can't be said about all of the motels in Seaside Heights. The bathroom was very nice. No, there isn't shampoo, body wash, or conditioner. Unfortunately, you'll have to stop by the local CVS and pick up a couple travel sized bottles. You'll survive. Some pros about our stay at Sunburst: There was a functional triple lock on the door. Definitely helps to know that we're safe. The beds were incredibly comfortable and warm despite the cigarette burn holes. That didn't really bother us too much. The bedding was clean. No bed bugs. We had a nice room with two beds, a kitchenette, TV, and refrigerator. The man who runs the front desk was very nice and helpful. I forgot to get his name but he was very friendly. It's very close to the middle of the boardwalk and beach. There was only one con about staying here. It's very loud and the walls are thin. We had noisy neighbors. Not really a fault of the motel but Seaside typically attracts the louder and younger crowd. Not a huge issue. There's also no daily maid service which doesn't bother us but I know that's a deal breaker for some. Overall, this is a comfortable, fairly clean, and safe place to stay in Seaside Heights. Again, don't come here if you're looking for a ritzy hotel. You'll definitely be disappointed. In fact, don't come to the Jersey Shore at all if you want to go somewhere classy. This isn't it. If you just want a comfortable and pleasant stay, this is a good option. Believe me, there are a lot of motels in the area that are in horrible condition and I would not feel safe staying at. Sunburst isn't one of them. It deserves the four stars. The Charlroy Motel is also another family friendly option in the area. More expensive and on the quieter side of town but worth the money. They were booked for the summer so Sunburst was our next option and they didn't disappoint!

The inn is clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The breakfasts were excellent and one of the many things that made staying here such a great experience. The location is also hard to beat-- a 2 block walk to the beach and a short drive to Main Street, making it easy to enjoy everything Belmar has to offer. What stood out most to me was the hospitality. Staying somewhere for nearly a month gives you a much different perspective than a quick weekend trip, and throughout my entire stay Bill and Linda consistently made me feel welcome and appreciated. Thank you both for making my extended stay feel like home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend the Inn at the Shore to anyone visiting the area. 10/10.

I was told I cannot get my deposit back as the cancellation would have had to have been more than 30 days. I was not told about this policy. The deposit was $423. I asked if we could apply the deposit to future dates and was told flat out no. Then she started yelling at me. I wanted to talk to the owner, Theresa, however they would not allow that as they said she is seldom on site. We had gone to this hotel many times in the last 15 years with family and always had a good experience. This certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone now as the customer service received from the manager was less than pleasant.

Would also like to highlight that Emily reached out even before our stay begun to ask if we needed anything upon arrival or had any questions. All requests were met and Emily was prompt to answer all questions. I would highly recommend The James Bradley to anyone thinking of visiting. The Inn has a quaint porch and indoor seating area. Our room was clean with a modern bathroom. There was also a TV with Roku available. WiFi worked well and I felt very safe in our room with an electronic lock on the door. The booking mentioned a continental breakfast would be provided in the morning. I was disappointed that we had a Keurig and nothing else. No fruit or any morsel of food. The coffee was appreciated but I was hoping for at least a banana to grab and go. Also, the walls are very thin in this Inn. I have great sleeping earbuds so I was able to sleep through the nights well. You can definitely hear conversations from people in the neighboring rooms and there is a lack of privacy in that aspect. The walkability from the Inn is incredible. My husband and I loved walking to get fresh bagels in the morning. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from for lunch and dinner. The beach is just blocks away and the boardwalk was fun to walk along. Overall for the price I felt like the Saltwater Inn met my expectations and I just wish there was a continental breakfast as promised when booking.

Then they can see everything, go out do 1-2 things, grab food and come back and it's right there. It's front area is also perfect for the kids on any rainy days. The beach suites are fantastic. We like the bottom ones as you can walk out your back door right to the pool and courtyard. Especially wonderful for those with disabilities or elderly. It's a smoke free environment as well. Grand Beach House is one of our children's favorites. It's on the bayside and is nice and quiet, has the pool right behind it, the office and courtyard right there.
