We stayed at the Hershey Motel towards the end of July. This was my first time visiting Seaside Heights, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth. It only took a couple minutes and we were all set. They had a coffee station and a juice machine as well as the information for the wifi in the main office. We did not utilize the pool or restaurant on property. But the pool was big and very clean. Lots of places to sit. Our room was a decent size. It was clean. We had extra towels. We even had our own private balcony which was really nice to use in the morning. We had plenty of hot water in the shower and the pressure was good. There was also a big fridge and nice size microwave. The location was GREAT! It was only a few blocks from the boardwalk and beach. And there were a lot of restaurants and stores within walking distance. I felt safe around the area, and I was okay exploring on my own. We could even see the firework show from our balcony which was a cool touch. The WiFi wasn't the best but we were also in the back building. But parking was super easy. We would definitely stay here again. Great first experience! read more

If I could do a negative rating I would. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! The box spring was absolutely disgusting! There was blood, food, dirt, unknown white "stuff" and God only knows what else on EVERY side of it! Ironically it still had a dry cleaning tag on it. I didn't have the stomach to look at the mattress. The towels in the bathroom were old, dingy, stiff and spelt like BO. The washcloths we're dirty and one even had makeup still on it. The room itself was clean, the tile floors were clean and that's literally where we slept. If it wasn't 2am when we arrived we would have left. We canceled the reservation for the rest of the weekend! There was literally no parking available and we drove around the block of the hotel 3 times before calling the front desk to ask where we were supposed to park (on street parking charged by the hour) and we were told to park in the handicap parking spot even though we told him we were not handicap. He said he didn't validate parking outside the hotel lot so just park in the handicap spot. The location was good, but even the staff was horrible and rude! I had a wonderful stay at Hershey ! Close to the boardwalk ,close to cvs . Very welcoming and accommodating front desk , they offered us a late check out at 6 pm for half the price of the daily rate which was super helpful . My room was very clean and the housekeeping came daily and even gave extra towels since we had a lot of kids and an extra cot to sleep one of the kids . My only complaint is the beds , if they were to upgrade the beds ,pillows and cover the hotel would be A1 ! I woke up so stiff every morning , terrible sleep but other than that it was great ! We had pre booked the rooms months in advance without looking at the reviews so we were a little nervous when we read the trip advisor reviews regarding the bed bugs and agreed the first thing we would do is a bed bug check and if we saw the slightest evidence we were out , in both rooms 58&59 we did not see any evidence of bed bugs but a little advice : bring your own pillows, sheet and blanket because theirs are horrible ! Kiddie pool and adult pool that's heated and many lay down chairs , I will def be back for some summer fun , thank you Hershey motel for the great memories read more

I would really like to give this place 2.5 stars, but unfortunately on Yelp we do not have that option. My boyfriend and I stayed for a night. The pros: The front staff was courteous and nice. Parking was not an issue, there was plenty of it. The pool was really nice, and has a kiddie pool for small children. There is also a bar/ restaurant that you can order from if you are hungry and/or want a drink, and are able to sit outside on the benches. The food was also really good at the restaurant. The cons: The room was dirty. There was gum right on the base of the lamp when we walked in. You could also see filth on the lampshade and the side of the nightstand. There was only a fitted sheet on the mattress, and the mattress was springy. We also found bugs in the bathroom. Also, there are no extras, you are only given soap in the room. We had booked the room on a whim and came with an extra pair of clothes. You are not given shampoo. Luckily there was a CVS around the corner. The pool was constantly packed and there were alot of people who were not following mask procedure. It was not enforced at all. I really wanted to like this place more, especially with the nice setup outside. read more

We just returned from a mini vacation at Seaside Heights and stayed at the Hershey Motel. The motel was clean and the staff was extremely pleasant. However, there was no hot water! When we went to the office to inquire we were told since our room was the last on the line, we needed to let the water run for awhile. We did get it to tepid, but we dealt with it. The towels are very small. We had to ask for an ice bucket. A maid came in during our first day, but we never saw anyone the next two days. The pool was great and was impressed to see that the actually cleaned each lounger everyday. I haven't been to a motel before where people actually stand in line to get in when the pool opened. It became clear when watching people putting towels down on 7 lounges and a table and 4 chairs and then leave. The motel is a bit longer than one block from the motel. But the free beach passes were great! The real find here, however, was the Chop restaurant attached to the motel. The food was absolutely awesome!! And the prices were great!!! Grossest motel ever -noisy, dirty, and the staff is horrible. Can't imagine why they're still open. Arcade and restaurant closed. This place saw its prime in the early 90s & is trying to hang on. Check your expectations at the door and buckle up. It's a bare bones seaside motel with a nice pool that's enjoyable ONLY if the stars align and the clientele is on its best behavior. Otherwise, it's a weed dispensary that happens to have a pool and plenty of free entertainment (check out the tags on IG and see for yourself). The partying goes on all night, which was actually entertaining for us. I'm happy people can enjoy themselves and that this place allows it. Not a family friendly atmosphere. No amenities in room. Zero frills. But if you don't need the bells and whistles (and by that I mean use the towels and linens at your own risk!), this place will kinda work. I saw several workers hustling around working hard, and one even carrying a frig. Location to beach and SSH boardwalk was great. read more

3/5 is me being generous. I went with my whole senior class to this trip that happens annually for each graduation class. When we checked in the lady who was checking me in was rude and not pleasant at all. When we walked in the room everything seemed fine... until there were 30 ants climbing out of the sink hole. The room reeked of marijuana and progressively got worse as the night went on. I am not sure why. Other than the rancid smell and the ant issue, the room was fine and we enjoyed our stay. read more

Such an amazing place to stay! Family friendly, a ton of rooms, a big pool, their own bar, and walking distance from the boardwalk. Rooms are nice and beds comfy. My only critiques are they need firmer pillows and I stayed her twice and both times there was no cold water for a bath. I would still stay here every time I come to seaside though. September 2020: UPDATE! So we decided to stay another few days Labor Day weekend. I originally gave them four stars but they deserve five. The staff... they're just awesome. Staying here a second time just reinsured that this place is awesome. I love the location, awesome staff, excellent rooms and wonderful pool. This is now the only place we'll stay when coming here. August 2020: So we stayed in two different rooms. The first was separated from the main buildings with the pool. At first I thought it wasn't great, but, it was quiet, we had a balcony, and we weren't right in the middle of everything. The rooms were nice and had everything we needed and beds were really comfortable. The last three nights we stayed in one of the rooms in front of the pool. It was nice being able to watch the kids from the balcony, and the WiFi was much better there as well. Totally different atmosphere than the other rooms, so, if you prefer a more quiet atmosphere I'd go with the rooms with the balcony but If you prefer being close to the pool the main buildings are the way to go. I enjoyed both, but it was really convenient to be so close to the pool with the kids. To me this is the best place to stay in Seaside Heights. read more

Overall, my husband and kids really enjoyed our first stay here despite an incident with another guest. For a motel I think it's the best in town as they are reasonably priced. We found the rooms comfortable for our family of four and our three night stay. The rooms were clean and furniture was well kept. Everything in our room worked well. The front desk was welcoming and the hotel staff was nice. The convenience to the beach, deli store, CVS, onsite restaurant and bar was a bonus! The poolside waiters were sweet and great with our orders. We were very happy with the quality of food served (brisket platter was my favorite) and their drinks were reasonably priced. My overall experience was good, not bad despite an issue with an ignorant guest.... Nonetheless, the staff made sure our big group was comfortable and the racist punk and his family had to leave! We would def. like to revisit next year. read more

Cons: No hair dryer, no shampoo/conditioner, no breakfast, just two chairs with a really small table in a two bedroom suite. Smelly room, like weed or cigarettes mix. No coffee maker, no clothes hangers, no table lamps! Just the night stand with nothing on top, no alarm clock, no room phone nothing. Shower curtain was moldy so I took it down and bought a new one. Kitchen is really small, no cabinets or countertops, nothing just a sink, small fridge as microwave. TV in bedrooms were 20 inch Very loud music and people yelling/fighting at night. Hard to fall asleep. Fireworks at 2:00 am. Pros: nice pool with lots of chairs around so you'll always find a place to sit. Employees are all friendly and helpful. They provide beach passes. The rooms are spacious with big windows and tile floors. I'll probably won't come back. It needs major updating. read more

An exceptionally clean motel room just about 900 feet from the beach and boardwalk. Tile floors in the rooms, much cleaner than carpet. Room has a small fridge and a microwave which is a bonus. Small flat-screen TV with many cable channels, Wi-Fi as well. A well maintained pool and bar on site with plenty of seating is available. The owners were very nice and whatever we needed, they did try to accommodate. It was certainly a very pleasant place to stay. Most importantly, very clean, well lit, safe and comfortable. Very disappointed with our stay. the staff at the front desk we're not accommodating at all very curt with their answers the bathroom as seen in the photos had black mold on the ceiling. black marks in the tub and the grout was molded the pool had just opened but was cloudy and murky. we pulled down the bedspread on one of the beds And there were long and short black hairs stuck to the sheets. We stayed here mid-September, where the season had significantly slowed down so prices were affordable! We had a spacious double bed room on the 3rd floor with a balcony. It was a tough hike up 2 flights of stairs with suit-cases- but we wanted a balcony- so we set ourselves up for that. It appeared mostly clean, with minor things that could have had more attention to it. The headboard was slightly dusty and behind the board and the wall on the floor could have used attention, otherwise mattress/blankets were clean. The pillows were terrible - very flat. It took me 4 pillows to feel like one. Linens could use updating (I personally, do not like colored duvet covers- I feel like it is something to hide the stains- but the white sheets were clean). Shower pressure was not the best and took a while to warm up- assuming it was due to the season and not a lot of people staying in the hotel. Wifi was terrible as well. Despite having multiple wifi access points, it was difficult to connect and it often kicked us off. There was no phone in the room either, which was different- so we had to use our cell phone's to call the front office to make inquiries. The pool could use some updating. The paint was chipping off the bottom and it was a little dirty. But otherwise very enjoyable. Plenty of clean beach chairs to lounge on. A lot of the amenities were closed (assuming due to the end of their season) which was disappointing, but understandable. Staff were very friendly. The walls were thin so we could hear the TV in the next room and talking outside. LOCATION was ideal! We parked our car and did not have to drive ANYWHERE. There were so many places in walking distance, including the beginning of the boardwalk. I realize I listed many con's about this property- but we really did enjoy our stay and would likely stay again!!!! read more

This will b r 3rd yr at Hersey. Twice in the summer we stay 5 days. The cleanliness is superb, the friendliness of Anne, Dwanye, Joann, and maintenance John & Kevin. They REALLY care abt this place. A Very cozy family orientation place to stay. Free breakfast in the mths of July & August & Also poolside service for food & drinks!!! A family game room, a separate baby pool, & also a BiG sandbox for the kids. WE LOVE THIS PLACE!! And also they offer a late checkout of 6pm instead of noon for an additional charge. Not super fancy and no bells and whistles! But its clean and comfy! Staff are very friendly and helpful! They take pride in their property and being the best and it shows from check in to check out. You get 2 beach passes per day included with your rental and the co Tibetan breakfast is great and available until 11 for people that like to sleep in as well! Definitely would stay again. While you are in the pool they have someone come around and ask for drink and food orders which is awesome! The food is great and the drinks are strong! read more

I have been staying at Hershey motel for years with my family and friends. Just stayed at Hershey last week, and upon checking in they had me pay for the room UPON CHECKING IN. I also had a reservation for tonight a week later. So last night the night before check in, I receive a call from hotel stating my card was declined , I said oh well last week you guys charged me UPON CHECK IN so I wasn't aware my card would be charged today, I will move money from savings over but I get paid tonight so again that's why I didn't see an issue. Front desk woman says that's okay we will charge your card after midnight then. So today comes, spend all day at work, drive 2.50 hours to seaside, go to check in just to be told my room was cancelled. NO ONE CALLED ME TO NOTIFY ME NOTHING. Woman at the front desk said "it's not my job to call" I said I just spoke with the woman last night I can't believe you would cancel my room without at least calling me I had the money and again I just stayed here last week it's not like I am a new customer. I am utterly DISGUSTED WITH THE SERVICE AND MOTEL ALL TOGETHER RIGHT NOW. Went from being my favorite and best motel in seaside heights to THE WORST!!!!!! This Motel was great until ghetto trash checked in for the weekend. Big ass speakers playing as loud as they could get it with zero regard to others staying there. Yelling until 2:30 in the morning...complained to front desk but same BS the next night. NEVER AGAIN AT THIS PLACE! Find somewhere else to stay! read more

Not sure what bugs the other reviews may have been talking about but the moment I got into my room I lifted the mattresses and looked all around and it was spotless and very clean. No signs of bugs whatsoever...My stay was very pleasant and staff was friendly... very close to boardwalk,CVS,7eleven and liquor stores...they also have nice balconies to relax on...only thing that slightly bothered me was it's prom season so Saturday night there were bunch of kids running around upstairs and yelling....for those in need of quite time just be mindful of the Months you choose to stay....lastly they had live music which was awesome as well! read more

Had a great stay at the Hersey Motel for a Conference! Ideal location to the Boardwalk, and surrounding area. Once you park your car, you won't have to move it. Hotel has a great pool, sandbox, makes ideal place for the kiddos. A few downsides, the bedding is VERY outdated, no iron in the room, towels are weak and so is the shower head. Overall, would absolutely consider staying here again but would also consider additional places due to some of the more outdated features. read more
