Paninis and mozzarella in carrozza. Delicious!

My wife and I just went back a second time, for dinner with our whole family. This place is PERFECT: wonderful thoughtful staff, beautiful setting on the ocean, and GREAT FOOD. The pizza, light, fluffy and crisp with homemade dough, great salads, great paninis, great desserts, and portions large enough to bring half home. The only thing they need is a bigger sign to let more people experience how great they are.

I've been to B2 Bistro in North Brunswick but have never been to the Point Pleasant location. I was…read morevery happy with my experience! I recently tried their new spring menu and everything hit. Apps: Crabby gabby sushi roll -- my fave at a B2 restaurant and I loved it here as well! Bruschetta burrata -- abundant and the burrata was soo fresh. Baked Mac and cheese with lobster -- the creamiest mac and cheese and big chunks of meaty lobster. Scarpiello wings -- sticky and savory perfection. Could've made a made off this alone! Entrees: Pan seared scallops with polenta -- the scallops were nice and tender and seared very nicely. Linguine & clams with red sauce -- very generous with the clams and the sauce was flavored very well. Cheesesteak -- tender, juicy, huge portion and served on amazing bread. Deliciously cut fries too. Drinks: Berry loca margarita -- not even a big marg person and I loved this. Spring fling sangria -- my friend downed hers! Dessert: Chocolate lava cake -- oozing with chocolate. Sooo delicious. Can't skip this! Service was awesome -- our waiters were so friendly and helpful. I like the cozy and rustic vibes of the restaurant, makes it a welcoming spot. Definitely will be back.

B2 Bistro+Bar was close to a restaurant we finally agreed on, but was closed that Sunday. I am actually happy it was closed because B2 Bistro+Bar was exactly what we needed that day. I had a Snow Globe Martini ($16) which impressed me with edible glitter (yes I am a chid at heart). We shared the Bruschetta Burrata ($20), which was good but they gave us only 4 small slices of toasts. My friend and I both thought they should have given 6 minimum, especially because 2 of them had huge hole in the middle so did it even count? lol For main I ordered a Prime Burger ($22) and my friend a Creamy Cajun Alfredo with Shrimp ($38). We genuinely loved our food. The space was large and spaced out. There was a 360 bar in the middle of the space. Nicely decorated for valentines day with strings of hearts falling from the ceiling/ lights. When we are in the area again - I think I would like to come back and try other things on the menu.

We had a delicious dinner at Blend last night. Everything was fresh and plentiful. The grilled…read moreclams were tender and accompanied by a delicious lemony sauce that was perfect for dipping the focaccia bread into. We also got the ricotta and tomato sauce to have with the bread and it was perfect. The fried rice ball were yummy with a nice crisp. The ribeye steak was very good - not steak house good, but tasty. Disco fries were enough to feed an army and the gravy was absolutely delicious. The sautéed spinach - fresh and seasoned perfectly. The stuffed branzino (a Special) was fresh and citrusy. I never get stuffed fish because it's always full of breading and crab which I don't prefer. This was stuffed with summer squash and fennel julienned into a spaghetti as well as orange slices. The flavor was so fresh and enjoyable. The potatoes that came on the side and the lemon caper sauce rounded it out nicely. We packed half our food to go to save room for dessert. Espresso perfectly poured, gelato sundae, mini jelly donuts (to die for!) Chef Lou stopped by to ask how we were enjoying our dinner (very much!) and our waitress Anna was so fun to chat with and provided great service.

I ordered the prime rib...just a note...I've had rare prime rib many times before at various restaurants but this order looked like the chef passed it over a flame...meaning it was super rare. No big deal but order it medium rare for those reading this review. Other plates of note were the orechette with sausage and broccoli rabe, carbonara and rib eye steak, all were tasty. There was supposed to be a street festival that night but it was cancelled due to the canadian wildfires...bummer.

Our family reunion vacation week for our mother's 80th Birthday at Tom and Mary Ann's house was…read morenothing short of fantastic! The weather was great..even with the complimentary downpour day to let the skin come off sizzle mode..just perfect. We were a large family group... family coming in from NY, NM, Ca and Germany. We pushed the limits in space but with the backyard patio area, rooftop hot tub soaking deck (special accolades to that), the ocean so close and so many places you could walk, bike, paddle to we never at all came to in your face situations... which we all know with family is usually inevitable. We wanted to do something special for our Mom (Omi) for her birthday so we took Mary Ann and Tom's referral and hired the caterer that they suggested... we did a luau theme and they came to the house with the pig roast complete with Hawaiian veges and salads. I for one was amazed that we actually surprised her but I do believe we really pulled it off. We were initially hesitant to rent because of landowners sharing the same house..but we started our search late and there weren't many options to accommodate our large group so we took the chance. Couldn't have been any farther from the fears we had to reality. Always friendly and helpful.. never intrusive or controlling. By the time we left it felt like we were leaving old friends.... the hot donuts Mary Ann brought us from an old time LBI donut shop, the morning before we left sealed the deal! Our family grew up summers in LBI..staying with friends that owned and/or our family renting for weeks at a time. I think I can speak for our family in saying we came home that week. A wonderful magical place in our memories. Lucky me got to share it with my granddaughter while my Mom (Omi) is still with us and oh so big a center of our family. 4 generations of LBI addicts.... what better place to enjoy family!
