Great Italian restaurant! The food was delicious and fresh, the service was quick, and it's BYOW. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet. Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely delicious. FYI it is bring your own wine but they do have some other drink options. I started with the meatballs and they were very good. I got the bolognese for my main and it was absolutely perfect. 10/10 would recommend. Service was a little slow but it is a Friday night so that was expected.

I had heard this restaurant was voted one of the top Italian restaurants in NJ, so naturally I had to give it a try. Simple yet elegant decor, the space was a bit small with the tables a little too close together, but otherwise very nice. We had an early 5:00 reservation so we were one of the first to arrive and were seated promptly at a nice table for two. Our waitress was very nice, explained the specials, had our wine opened and everything seemed good on the service end. However, once we got our appetizer and meals, she was basically no where to be found. Now I know things got a little busy but for a waitress to not even come by during the meals to see if everything was ok or something was needed, that's definitely unacceptable. As for the food, I have to say overall it was excellent. We started with the Tuscan Shrimp & Beans, flavored with onions, prosciutto and rosemary. This app was delicious, beans were tender and the shrimp and sauce was so flavorful. I'd eat this all day. For our main courses, my wife went with your traditional Linguine & Clams. Although she liked it, especially the homemade pasta, she said it didn't measure up to some of others she's tried and a couple of the clams had some sand. Still very good though. As for my main course, I love a good pork chop and I went with the Pork Chop Giambotta with hot cherry peppers, mushrooms, onions and potatoes. Well, this might have been one of the best pork chops I've ever eaten, cooked perfectly and so tender and juicy and just a wonderful flavor. I loved it. To wrap up, for dessert my wife and I went with a couple of Affogatos served with a double shot of espresso. They were great, however what was not so great was the price tag of 14.00 each. A little much for just basically ice cream and espresso in my opinion. Overall we did like this place and would definitely come again. Couldn't give it 5 stars on this visit though because of the things I pointed out but we'll see if that changes next time we come.

This was the first time my boyfriend and I dined here. Upon walking in we were greeted warmly by the hostess. We had a 8pm reservation and were seated promptly. It's a beautiful decor inside and they also have outdoor seating in the backyard patio. It's a byob which is always good and they have a liquor store right next door if you forget. (We did, don't be us). lol They start you out with complimentary bruschetta which is delicious! We ordered the house salad to share as an appetizer. Quite frankly, it was very sparse. I expected a more hearty salad for price. My boyfriend ordered their signature chicken parm and I had the red snapper filet. Both dishes came with potatoes and the snapper was served over a bed of mushrooms with a cream sauce. The chicken parmigiana was very good as you'd expect at an Italian restaurant. To be honest, the red snapper was a little underwhelming. It was kind of chewy and bland. I've had this dish several times at other places and this one fell short. The restaurant was very busy and perhaps understaffed. We asked for extra bread twice. We finished our entrees and we never received the bread. My boyfriend was disappointed because he loves dunking the bread in the extra marinara sauce. lol. For dessert we had the chocolate tart with vanilla gelato. It was delicious! It was so distracting that I forgot to take a picture. lol. All in all it was a good experience and I would dine here again. However, I would only order Italian entrees. In my humble opinion, seafood dishes are not their forte.

Another terrific meal 'down the shore'! We met my lifelong friend and his wife (they joined me here on a previous occasion), and the meal was equally as good as their first visit. The house giveaway, tomato bruschetta, had really good tomatoes-and it's early in the season. My date and I shared an interesting order of mozzarella and ricotta fritters, that came with a cup of marinara. What made the dish was the gremolata topping, which brightened and sharpened the dish. Perfectly fried! For mains, I had veal saltimbocca and she had the halibut special. Both were terrific! As usual, the staff was superb. The captain is very attentive, replacing a wine glass that had a lipstick spot-he saw that before we did. Our 16 year old waiter recited the specials without looking at notes, and instantly answered any menu questions. Finally, chef owner Mark made two visits to our table to check in-how he had time to do that with a full house and patio, on a Jersey Shore Saturday, I'll never know. Bravo Marandola's!

Pro: 1. Delicious food. Last evening we had mushroom appetizer $12, snapper rosemarina $28, and bronzino (fish special) $30. Everything wonderful, compliments to the chef. 2. BYOB, so you are saving a lot compared to a restaurant selling alcohol. If you forget to bring a bottle, a liquor store is literally two doors away. 3. Attentive and friendly service. Con: 1. We made a reservation for 530pm, showed up at 520pm and were first diners of the evening. The hostess sat us at a tiny table by the front door. When I questioned this, she said we could eat out back, which was not a realistic option as it was cool. She could have given us a table for four (although we were two) more actually IN the restaurant. The place did not get crowded (perhaps 12 diners by 615pm) yet she tried to seat another couple at a tiny table literally a foot away from our table (they asked to sit elsewhere). 2. Cold bread and butter, instead of warm bread and dipping oil. 3. While the restaurant was not crowded, the noise level with 12 diners and 8 servers was unpleasant. Must be intolerable when full. First time. Probably will return because my three "pro" points outweigh my three "con" points.

    Marandola's interior very cool

They were barely half full and the noise was not extremely loud. I had the New England clam chowder and as usual it was a great start to the meal. Plenty of clams and potatos in a creamy white sauce. To start the meal they also provided bread sticks with sesame seeds which is a real nice alternative to dinner rolls. With the sticks they also providing a dipping sauce that really tasted great. This the only place I can remember having breadsticks during dinner and loved it. For dinner I had stuffed flounder with rice and vegetables. The fish was prepared real well and came with plenty of crabmeat and stuffing. Inside it was real moist and tasted great. Along with that was rice and mixed vegetables. In the restaraunt the vegetables were a bit harder then I would prefer but when I reheated the meal at home they were perfect. But if you you are an al dente vegetable they would be fine for you. My wife picked something off the specials of the day. Shrimp, Mahi, broccoli, mushrooms, pine nuts all over rice. She felt this was a great meal and would definitely get it again. It was a nice blend of a bunch of tastes and textures, and the pine nuts are always a great addition to a meal. With less people to deal with the service was right on point, with several returns to our table to make sure everything was well. I feel you will always have a great meal here. But at times there will be a wait to get a table and it will be a bit loud... But in my mind you will always walk out smiling

Parking is plentiful, although some lots are paid while others are free. Be prepared for a wait during peak times, but their waitlist system lets you track your place in line, so getting there early is worth it. We started with the Fire Island Roll and Black Dragon Roll, and both were excellent. The standout entrée was the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll, packed with generous chunks of lobster and easily one of the best lobster rolls on the Shore. The Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp was another winner, with a generous portion and flavorful crab stuffing. The Whole Sea Bass special was slightly smaller than expected but still satisfying, while the Blackened Halibut was cooked well but could have used a sauce to bring the dish together. A special shoutout to the staff, who made the smart decision not to seat guests at umbrella-covered tables when storms were approaching. When the wind and thunder rolled in, everyone remained safely under covered areas. Great seafood, beautiful views, and thoughtful service make Klein's well worth a visit.

Tonight was especially spectacular for me, hence the essay review. The organization starting all the way from the ample parking, to the hostess system + the waiting areas made a 55 min wait absolutely seamless, even during a busy Sunday night rush. This visit was everything I could've asked for, and more. My party of 4 and I shared the following apps & entrees: -fried calamari -soaring scallops -fra diablo mussels -fish tacos -blackened red snapper w/waffle fries Everything was delicious, and the snapper stole the show. We downed our bites with some frozen margaritas, YUM! The steamed veggies w/ the snapper platter were particularly refreshing and perfectly cooked. The blackened seasoning was on point. The mussels are my father's all time favorite, therefore they have a special place in my book; they are a must order. Can't go wrong with a calamari app, but the soaring scallops were a bit underwhelming and would probably switch it for my usual spicy tuna roll next time. I have to take a moment for the most important aspect of our dinner. Our server Todd is the epitome of top tier service and dedication to customer satisfaction. Just based off the introduction, I knew we were in good hands. He made sure we were set up and coursed our meal in such a timely matter that every step of service was hit. He made it his business to touch the table every time food was dropped, which is a BIG green flag. If ever something was needed, we did not have to look far or wait for attention. These are the 101's of the service industry that seem to get lost in the sauce more often than not, and he managed to excel in every category I look for when I'm spending my money out. I hope his pillow is always cold at night. All things combined; the overall family oriented vibe, waterside sunset dining, friendly and efficient staff, great food and reasonably priced drinks, makes for the dream post beach dinner. I have been here a million times and I would come back a million more, and would 100% request Todd. Thanks guys !!!!

Plenty of spots in the parking lot and easy to pay for 2 hours on the app - signs don't say what time the "meters" go off, but with 2 restaurants sharing the lot, we figured you probably have to pay until at least 8 pm, and we were early (5:30 ish). Got seated quickly, in a booth near a wide opening out to the beautiful patio on the water. Rather warm in the restaurant and there were overhead fans that weren't rotating, but it wasn't uncomfortable. We'd have had to wait a bit for an outdoor table, and anyway it was a hot humid day and night so indoors suited us just fine. One friend had the lobster bisque, served with a good chunk of a bread that looked tasty (she's not a bread lover but she enjoyed it so it must have been delicious) and she really liked the soup. Then she added another appetizer, spicy garlic shrimp. Generous portion of 6 shrimp. My other friend had the crabcake & shrimp plate, which came with a side salad that our waitress was savvy enough to bring first when our other friend was enjoying her soup. Some crumbled feta on the side salads, a nice touch. When she ordered, my friend asked if the crabcake had a lot of breading and our server assured her that it doesn't; that turned out to be accurate! I also got that side salad with the Ahi tuna bowl I ordered. This was a bowl of dry, bland white rice (might have been jasmine rice but not strong flavor). On one side atop the rice was a good portion of seaweed salad, which I love. Piled sort-of artistically on the other side of the rice mound were several small slices (6? 7?) of perfectly "black and blue" tuna crusted with both black and white sesame seeds. The fish and salad were delicious but not terribly filling. I ate most of the rice. I noticed that there was a marinade at the bottom and began to mix the rice with the marinade that was tasty. They do add 2.5% for credit cards, but that's fair enough these days. Entrées are on the pricey side, I thought ($39. for the crab/shrimp dish, 32 for my tuna, 12 for the lobster bisque), but there aren't any bargains dining out these days. We had no complaints, other than my somewhat dry rice. I'd like to give it 3 1/2 stars but will err on the generous side. We'll probably return next year on our beach day!

Its on the water, so we waited for an outside table. We only waited about 25 mins on a very busy night (we were quoted 45) which I was pleased by. The tuna nachos were my favorite bite of the night. The plate was giant to share and the flavors were delicious. I got the shrimp and lobster pasta and if you are considering that, I would pass. The shrimp had a funny, almost lemon essense flavor. The lobster was tasty (can't really mess up lobster). The pasta however was mucky in my opinion. The pasta itself was broken so it wasn't easy to twirl and the flavor was just very bland. My friends got the salmon and the shrimp. Both looked delicious. I do have to mention that we did love that the entrees came with a side salad. Overall it was a lovely spot. We started with the tuna pizza, an order of oysters, garlic shrimp, beet salad, and the Bibb salad. (Just a side note, they want you to place your starters and entrees at the same time). Everything came out in a reasonable time and was all very good. The Tuna pizza was not at all what I was envisioning but was a pleasant surprise both presentation and taste wise. The shrimp were interesting because they looked like they would be super flavorful, but just felt kind of flat. Both of the salads were delicious, I really enjoyed the Bibb and would highly recommend it. I had the Bluefin and it was really good, the portion size was fair and the fish was extremely fresh. The potatoes were very good, and while I'm not a big fan of the mixed vegetables, they were good. My partner ordered one of the specials - the Lobster Capelinni. - 6 oz. of lobster on top of angel hair pasta with a delicious tomato-brandy sauce! We couldn't believe how much lobster was on the pasta - it was tender and very tasty! After 2 excellent entrees, we decided to try the desserts. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. I ordered the Carrot Cake (one of my favorite desserts) and my partner ordered the Chocolate Cake, one of her favorite desserts! My 'carrot cake' wasn't a cake but a conglomeration of icing and thick layers of 'fudge-like' cake. Visions of a fluffy, rich cake with freshly grated carrots and 'warm spices' flew out the window! My partners chocolate cake was dry and not moist at all - I've had Duncan Hines chocolate cakes that tasted better!! While the desserts were a big disappointment, the meal was excellent and we will return to Amelia's on our next visit to Spring Lake.
