I contain multitudes. 1. I enjoy the modern world. I like being able to go to a website, filter all my options, see all the specs of a product, select which one I want, pay for it and get it delivered without having to leave my house, or sometimes even talk to a person. 2. I also love supporting local businesses. I like being able to call a number where a human being (a really nice one named Leah) picks up the phone right away, and can answer all my questions. I like when someone like Leah can tell me what they have in stock that fits my needs, and how soon I could get it delivered. I like that Leah can give me a good price, and I like that the price includes delivery, installation, and taking away the old item that I'm replacing. I really like that the item in question (a fridge) got delivered when they said it would, and that there were no problems, or hidden charges. If #1 above resonates with you, HL Snyder is probably not the place you want to shop. Their website has a few options, but you're not going to be able to see their entire selection, and handle everything online. You may have to speak to a person, or go into the showroom. If #2 sounds like you, give HL Snyder a call, and they'll fix you up very nicely. read more

What went well? Everything. I walked in looking for a fridge, Jeanine was super knowledgeable and realistic about what would best suit my family. While I was there, I asked about washing machines - and ended up coming back in seconds after I left multiple times because I kept thinking of questions! Also, they had a bunch of vintage appliances - it was just neat to look at! I called about a week later to order the fridge, two days later Chris called to schedule delivery (included in the price of the fridge, as well as taking away my old fridge!) They also asked if I was without a fridge or just an upgrade - which I SO appreciated. It was NOT an "emergency," but the mere fact that they asked goes to show: they're a local, family business and they get it. Two gents showed up on the day and time they said they'd come, accommodating my small back road, and got the old fridge out and new one in with no mess - all while chatting with my helpful 5 year old and tolerating my neurotic dog. The entire process was less than an hour! I did check Lowe's/Home Depot and found this exact fridge for about $100 less - but I doubt that includes delivery and take away. Snyder's also services everything they sell. Another instance where shopping local is so worth it! They've got another long term customer in me! read more

I called them on 9/6/24 because my washer was leaking. The tech called me back on 9/17/24 (11 days later) to say he would be here the next day. He came, left bathroom totally trashed and said he had to order a part. This washer is in my salon. I have to wash towels every day. So not only am I working 11 hours/day, but I'm at the laundry mat until 8-9 at night. I'm exhausted. I call today and was told she had no idea when the tech would return as they do not work for the company. They are giving "tickets" for jobs and do them as they please. She didn't even know if the part had come in. The thing is, everyone I have talked to and from what I had googled, this part (gasket) is known to go on these units. Why didn't the tech have any extra parts in his truck? So, 22 days later and I still do not have a washer to use. Off to the laundry mat.... read more

I bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator with French doors for $2320. Unfortuntately, the alarm does not sound when the left hand door is ajar. They would not allow an exchange or a store credit (there certainly was no point in asking for a refund). A gentleman did come to the house and looked at my refrigerator: he recommended putting more water bottles on the door's shelves so it was more likely to close shut. At least the boss was pleasant. He cheerfully suggested I call Whirlpool, and to let him know how it turns out. Do yourself a favor. The big well known chains employ lots of local folks. The selections are much larger and the prices are lower. read more

Within 3 days of my call for help to look at and repair our kitchen stove, a technician arrived ( actually much earlier than they initially scheduled the visit). The owner who was the technician wasted no time replacing the thermostat and auto ignition part resulting in the over again working perfectly and he replaced the ignition ignitor (which was a cumbersome task) but that too is working perfectly. When the job was finished, we anticipated a bill of at least $400.00. To our surprise and gratitude, the bill was less than half what we anticipated. The technician was professional and very personable during his time with us. It is without a doubt our future business for appliances will be handled by HL Snyder and Sons, who are a hometown family business that cares about the customer. Big box stores may have some better deals but I strongly suggest giving HL Snyder and Sons an opportunity, we sure will going forward Thank you HL Snyder and Sons. read more

Well lets start, if I could give below one star I would!! Stopped by there showroom to purchase a dishwasher as ours was non functional, owner was there and I picked out a new one, asked on install time and was told (this was tuesday), BY THE END OF THE WEEK OR EARLY NEXT.. Well by the end of the week no call, called Saturday, well they lost our paperwork(written on various pieces of paper, first clue I should have just left on entry), was told they would find paperwork and call fallowing week. Monday, no call.. Tuesday I started calling, got answering machine multiple times, did not leave a message as now I see how business is done here. At 5pm get a call from the owner?/ installer.. can do it thursday and wants to know if its a hardwire? pissed when I say yes,(how many dishwashers do you know of that PLUG INTO A WALL??) So he said see you Thursday and HUNG UP ON ME!! We went down the VERY NEXT DAY and got our money back!!!!So much for trying to do business with your locall SAUGERTIES store! By the way went to the big box store, PURCHASED AND INSTALLED in 2 days, with help from a ANGI installer. Bottom line do not go here unless you want to wait a long time and get jerked around! read more

I bought a new washer / dryer combo from them a few weeks ago. The lint filter sensor keeps telling us that the filter needs to be cleaned and stops the dryer even though the filter is completely empty. Snyder's was here once two weeks ago and told us that the problem was the duct leading outside. We had the duct cleaned out by another service person who assured us there was full air flow coming from the dryer, no blockage in the duct. The sensor is still telling us that that the filter needs to be cleaned. Sometimes we can get the dryer to work if we reset the sensor every 5 minutes but sometimes it doesn't work at all. I have had two loads of wet wash (one in the washer, one in the dryer) for a week and despite repeated phone calls to Snyder's, I have gotten no assistance at all. To put it more plainly, their service sucks. read more

They were able to order, deliver and install a new dishwasher in under three weeks (this has normally been taking 2 - 3 months given current supply chain issues). They were really helpful in helping me pick the right one and delivery was professional and friendly. Pricing was better than Home Depot including delivery and removal of my old dishwasher. Will definitely use them again. read more

Highly recommend. I used to go to one of the big box stores.Did a huge home reno and needed full appliance replacement , installation etc. So i have a a good amount of experience. Last year I bought my washer and dryer with installation from Snyders Appliances. I had a fridge repair from them. Today I had an over-the-range microwave installed that I purchased from them. The folks at Snyders are knowledgeable and professional. Chris asked me questions to be sure I was getting the right appliance and offered me assistance. No hard sell. Told me if I wanted to I could check their supplier's website for more options. I wanted something in stock and they had what I wanted. I was in and out of the store in no time with what I wanted! Delivery and installation was the same week. Delivery/install was super easy to arrange. No waiting around for hours. In fact I got a call in the morning if I wanted them to come earlier. That has never happened to me!!! I'm very happy with the product and the service. A word about price: the big box store was running a sale last week. It looked like I could have gotten something for much less $. But install and delivery was included in my price. I don't think the overall price would have been a dollar less in the end. Also no headache and no extra time wasted at the other places. Buy local, get good service! Do yourself a favor and keep our local businesses around. read more

Snyders has been absolutely amazing to work with on ordering a new fridge. We are not up full time and had our fridge go out while people were renting out house. They made a house call the next day to check it out, got it back running but ended up dying again so we placed an order for the fridge which we delivered a few days later. While they might not be able to meet big box store prices, the value add and customer service that they provide is well worth it - and it is always good to support a local business! My fridge went on the fritz overnight and I woke up to thawing meat and milk that was no longer crisp and cold. I live in Kingston and Feiden couldn't send anyone till after Thanksgiving. Same with Lowe's. My Landlord called Snyders around 11 am and Peter was here at 2, directly in the middle of his 1-3 window. He was so low key and quiet, it was amazing. And as someone recovering from bronchitis and having just talked with my Mom for the previous hour, that was much appreciated. The fridge was fixed in 45 minutes. All my food was salvaged! I've been very happy with Snyders. They just came out, spur of the moment to fix my refrigerator. I used them when I redid my kitchen and found them great then too. On time, responsive to my needs. This same refrigerator was purchased by Feidens in Kingston. I called them first. They told me someone could look at it in 7 days. Then they would order parts. I then called Snyders and they sent someone out the next morning, with parts that might be needed. Now I call that service! Thanks so much Snyders. Fantastic at appliance repairs! I had a washing machine that was only trickling the cold water into the machine. The valve was apparently clogged with sediment from our well water. Mike came and put in the new hot and cold water valves that I requested, and did a great job. I put in a wash load after he was done, and it was like having a brand new machine! He is very nice, as is the rest of the staff I spoke to, and did a great job in a relatively short period of time. Highly recommend! read more

This place is a joke completely unprofessional and not attentive at all. My stove went out and I placed an order and two weeks later no call, no stove. I called a week into it and was told that the owner will call me back they were not sure what was going on, never got that phone call. The second week I called a young lady answered and put the owner on and I flipped threatened to cancel and then he had the nerve to say "it doesn't hurt my feelings if you cancel". So I hung up and called elsewhere which it would have been another two days so I was force to do business with this small under qualified establishment.
