Called on Friday, 10/10 - P and F closed until Tuesday, 10/14. Tried to work with LG technical support - impossible to do what they expected - have you unplugged the unit? How am I supposed to do that as a 66 year old woman - I cannot pull the unit out to unplug it and plug it back in?!?!?! Extremely frustrating!!! Heard from Haylee at P and F on Tuesday. She said that the extended warranty would not have covered what she believed to be a worn igniter switch. We scheduled an appointment to replace that part On Friday, 10/17. Technician arrived early and completed repair in a timely manner. He was very knowledgeable and answered our questions regarding the igniter switch and its replacement schedule. Appreciate the punctuality and professionalism of the P and F staff - still cannot comprehend that using an oven for its intended purpose - baking/roasting - wears out the very parts that should support those uses!!! My last gas range/oven lasted for 22 years - not 14 months!!! They didn't build it - I get that, but what a warped world we live in when appliances planned obsolesence kicks in at 14 months!!! If you choose to do your own, there are a variety of sizes of machines available, and they use a prepaid card system rather than coins. Bring some bills, insert them in the machine and you get a card which you then swipe in the washer and try to start the machines. Betty keeps the place clean, and she's vigilant to make sure the machines are in good working condition. The Bucket of Suds is open every day from 5am thru 11pm, and the doors lock automatically at that point.

I am a repeat customer, having bought a wood stove and having had shades installed at my house. Unfortunately, while everyone I spoke with was very friendly, I received no action. When I called, everyone with whom I spoke assured me that they had all of my information and that I would receive some type of communication - nothing. Finally, two months after my initial request, a very nice person reached out. We arranged a time for her to come and measure my windows. She wrote up a detailed agreement, and I promptly paid half. That was in early June. She did explain that they had to order the custom shades. Since then - nothing. When I emailed her and her supervisor asking for a simp0le update last week, I thought that I might hear something - silence. Perhaps Friends of the Sun is overwhelmed with business and so profitable that they do not need to worry about communicating with customers but, to me, this is poor business. Everyone deserves to be treated courteousy. An email response takes about 30 seconds, unless you are long-winded like me :)
