A+ service and very fun and delicious menu items. The food was really tasty. The space is well layed out and very clean. Also really great music playing. We will be back! read more

This is going to be a "hissy fit" of a review, because I was underwhelmed by the food Ordered the old fashioned biscuit with the egg and sausage. For $10, I was expecting a real fresh egg, but it was folded liquid egg product, the kind they serve at Comfort Inn for breakfast. Need to add salt and pepper, that way you don't have to give a free cup of hot sauce with this biscuit. read more

The decor is darling and boutique-ish and the food is truly Southern-delicious, but the most endearing part is the SERVICE! I don't expect such attentive and authentically joyful people in the service industry anymore, but here they are...shiny, happy people!! Very impressed and definitely going back soon! read more

Great atmosphere, decor, friendly staff. Location is perfect especially if you want to have great food and avoid Domaine. The food was very delicious and thought out. The cocktails were also perfectly yummy! Everything screamed southern! read more

Really nice restaurant we had the Cajun Cubano Sandwich & fries, flavor was so good we will definitely be back

I love the food here, so many great options. The service is great, you just order at the counter and they bring the food right to you. Has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. read more

Hissy Fit - Cinnamon roll from the breakfast menu - Southern Near Me - Austin, Texas

Came here as a family earlier this week and had the green bowl, chicken sandwich, and Cuban sandwich. We also had a sadly small order of french fries. The food was all delicious, though I was surprised that the sandwiches didn't come with a side at the price they were. The french fries were good, but barely a serving. The people were friendly and friendly and the person I believe is the owner came by to check on us, which I appreciated. What was disappointing was the ask of such a large tip at a counter service place where even silverware and water have to be done by yourself. I understand tipping, and I honestly tip well most of the time but having a 18 to 22% minimum tip on the order when I'm doing a counter service restaurant, getting my water and silverware, and the delivery is done similarly to what I get at Burger King is excessive. Make this a "worker friendly" environment and just pay a living wage. Cut the request for tips from the POS systems. read more

The Ambiance was very nice inside plenty of seating on the inside. The Staff / Cashier was very nice and very friendly and had a great smile on her face seems like they have very good friendly employees at the restaurant. The Food was very good. i ordered the Sticky Banana Date Toffee cake which was very delicious fairly decent size read more

The biscuits and biscuit sandwiches are so good! The make a perfect biscuit and the homemade sausage is really good too ( it's not like the mega salty Jimmy dean style) read more

Ambiance is good. Service is good. Food is good. Everything is À la carte. We decided to try it out just to see how the food was and seeing it was new to the Arboretum area. Price: Wayyyy too much $$. We had a burger/hoagie sandwich/two biscuits/side of red beans and rice and side of Brussel sprouts...and one drink. Total: $106.44 without tip! I can imagine if we had ordered any wine. Suggestion: lower the prices. Just down the street we got more from the Italian restaurant. read more

Such a delicious and adorable place! Breakfast offered all day. Healthy bowl/salad options. Counter service makes it great for groups. Love the decor and music 10/10 all around!! read more

To begin, I'm not a fan of counter-ordering when the prices are not fast food prices. The place is cute; I had high hopes; I was lured by the fun Southern name and its connection to Fixe. Ordered: deviled egg -- $3 for half an egg. Good, but geez. wedge salad -- $10. Hard inside of lettuce. No steak knife. Unexciting and unremarkable dressing. Miniscule morsels of bacon, I think. Pickled onions. Really disappointing. The famous biscuit -- $4. It and the deviled half-egg were the only things worth eating. But damn... $4 for a biscuit? It wasn't that good. My business colleague had the fried oyster appetizer... he liked it. Also had the mixed greens salad with flank steak, minus beets and oranges. The flank steak was very rare (they didn't ask for desired doneness), and the "champagne vinaigrette" is impossibly vinegar-y. Wow. It was SOMETHING. They were not busy (3-4 tables of small groups of women). We will not return. read more

Must have got an employee with a hangover. Not very friendly. I came for the cheeseburger. It wasn't very good and it was little for $16. No extras like fries. I would not return nor recommend. read more

Excellent healthy options! The breakfast bowl with sausage is very satisfying. The naughty bear claws are to die for. The quinoa.bowl with steak...yummy. The coffee's look wonderful but I haven't had any YET:). read more

Great service and excellent food. Will definitely return. The biscuits are absolutely delicious!!

The atmosphere was very welcoming and the food was great! I loved the duck confit sandwich, and the fries were yummy too. Just a really nice experience on a sunny Saturday. read more

Terrible customer service. They messed up our order, 1 person did not even get their food, and then they suggested we should just take it to go. Manager acted like he could have cared less.... Don't come here or you will have a HISSY FIT. read more

great toilet seats although i missed (a lot a bit.. sorry keith.. but fuck u jennifer u gave me the coffee that destroyed my stomach)

The food was good and the ambience is very relaxing and casual. I ordered the fried oysters which came served on an amazing slaw and the Cuban sandwich. The service was great once we figured out how it worked ( the person taking our order , emphasized the area w/ self service utensils and water) however as soon as we sat at a table, the waitress explained that she brings these items. This was my first visit, I'm coming back to enjoy many of the other items on the menu. read more

I recently received a gift certificate for Hissy Fit and am so glad that I did. We have now been for dinner and breakfast. We'll be back for both. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the cinnamon rolls are like nothing I have had before. Cool, comfortable vibe with great service! read more

The blonde male server with glasses MADE OUR NIGHT! He was so professional, informative and cheerful. The state of service in Austin is often none of these things, so this guy really stood out. It's clear that he takes pride in his job and talked us through several aspects of the place. Husband and I both had Cuban sandwiches - they were awesome, especially when doused with Hissy Fit's homemade hot sauce. Topo chicos that were actually frosty cold perfection. Got a biscuit to go and ate it later. It was lovely and servers with blueberry jam, whipped butter and honey. The room is pretty. And the space was immaculate. Only suggestion for improvement would be to dim the lights as it gets later. It was IKEA-level bright at 6pm. Otherwise, keep your the good work HissyFit. We'll be back! read more

Order the veggie caprese sandwich - you won't be sorry. I've had it twice now and it's amazing. I need to know what kind of bread they use and how they make the tofu taste like cheese. Honestly I don't even miss the cheese. But for real, what is the bread and where can I get it?? The biscuits are amazing and the biscuit cinnamon roll is even better. The first time I went I had the roasted cabbage bowl and it was good but too heavily dressed for my taste. I would order it again with dressing on the side. It's definitely worth a visit!! read more

Tried it for a second time but this time went in for dinner. It is counter service! It was not as good as the first time I did carry out. For how pricey this place is it should be full service. If you want another $15 cocktail ( they are all $15) you gotta get up and order yourself. Want water? Go get it yourself. I live up the street with my kids and I am beyond disappointed how kid unfriendly this place is. This could of been our go to. I was told I could order the burger plain but it would still cost the $16. Also no sides, $7 for a small thing of fries! I hope this place can reassess their cost. It's clearly more of a lunch place but I don't know how many ppl would want to repeat weekly here. Its pricing is more expensive than Jack Allen's but with the feel of corner bakery. read more

Noisy. The food was OK, but not great. There are better places to eat, so we probably won't be back. read more

Food is great and it's was busy because it was Mother's Day but the staff couldn't have been nicer

The Biscuit Bear Claw is fantastic. Service is not exceptional, but very friendly. Very noisy interior. We will go back soon.

I accidentally discovered this place after stopping by the "mama restaurant " Fixe downtown (also amazing!) . What a lucky find for the residents of the Arboretum area. The detail in the food prep and the wines are amazing. Have to have the biscuits! Great happy hour so be sure to check that out. Can't wait to come back. read more

Best avocado burrito, creamy and yummy. A bit overpriced but super good. Service was ok and the restaurant is nice with open seating. Lovely but very pricey. read more

We had high hopes but the set up was a bit odd . Counter service but not fully self service and you're assigned a table. The food was ok. The biscuits seemed over done, we got lunch and the sandwiches and sides ($7 fries) came separately and at different times. Maybe the brunch will be better but not really worth the price in my opinion. Not sure if we will be back which is sad because its cute and conveniently located with good parking read more

I'm failing to see the reason for tipping when we had to order at the counter, get our own silverware, salt/pepper, water, and coffee refills. My sandwich didn't come out until 5 minutes after everything else. The bear claw is definitely worth the purchase, but other than that, I can't say anything else we got was noteworthy. We won't be back. read more

For starters, it's too expensive for an order at the counter joint. But the bigger problem is the food. Spicy crawfish dip - not spicy, thick layer of cheese on top and pure liquid cheese underneath, served with saltine crackers. Not really good. Ordered the duck confit sandwich and fried oyster po boy. Both just drowning and sauce such that it all just tasted the same. They could have put anything on there and I wouldn't have been able to distinguish its flavor or texture under the sauce. Just not good. And appetizers are supposed to be served before the mains. We sat there for 20 mins and then got all our food at once. Maybe breakfast is decent.... I don't know and won't find out. read more
