Pancake

So much charm! I love short and thoughtful menus! There is so much Southern charm packed into this menu. The restaurant was really clean. I enjoyed the kitchen being somewhat open. The wait staff was so kind. The bathroom was clean as well. I came on a very rainy day and didn't have to wait super long for my food. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Breakfast bowl(brown rice, sweet potato, egg, sausage, avocado, kale, and pimento aioli)- I loved how I could choose between sausage and bacon. The sausage was well done, fresh, and can tell it was made by hand. I love a good country sausage. The aioli was a nice touch. This bowl was filling and packed with flavor , yet it made me feel like I mad a healthier choice. Pancake - the pancake was fluffy and huge. I enjoyed it! I can definitely see myself visiting again with friends

Delicious Drinks - must try

HISSY FIT - A Hidden Gem Worth Every Crumb Quality of Food From the very first bite, Hissy Fit delivers. We tried the Standard Biscuit, the Bukowski Sandwich, and the Cinnamon Roll--and each one earned its spot on the must-try list. The bacon was cooked to crispy perfection, eggs were fresh and masterfully prepared, and the texture of each item hit that sweet spot between comforting and craveable. The biscuits? Buttery, flaky, and hands-down delicious. And let's talk about the aioli on the Bukowski: rich, flavorful, and the kind of condiment that makes you want to lick the wrapper. The cinnamon roll was a standout--perfectly balanced with just enough crunch on the outside and a delicate glaze that didn't overpower. Not too bready, not too sweet--just right. Execution like this is rare. Priice: What you get is appropriate portion size, high-quality ingredients, and a level of culinary care that makes every dollar feel well-spent. In a world of overpriced mediocrity, this place is priced just right and the quality amazing. Service Although not a full-service restaurant, the team at Hissy Fit went above and beyond. They checked on us multiple times, ensured we had everything we needed, and even brought out a water bowl for our pup without being asked--major points. The manager personally checked in as well, which shows a level of care and culture you can't fake. Friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. This is hospitality done right. Environment Whether you're catching up with friends, sneaking in a casual date, or grabbing brunch with the family, Hissy Fit's vibe works. It's relaxed but not lazy. Music at the right volume. Not overly crowded or chaotic. Bonus: they have two outdoor tables, perfect if you're dining with a dog. It's cozy, clean, and feels intentional--welcoming without trying too hard. Final Verdict: Hissy Fit is the kind of place you find once and return to often. Flavors that stay with you, service that feels like home, and a price point that respects your wallet. Whether you're a biscuit loyalist or a cinnamon roll romantic, you'll leave satisfied--and planning your next visit. Must try.

After working to 2 am yesterday, I had a late breakfast. When you're working from home sometimes you lose track of time. Hissy Fit's butter biscuit danced in my head this morning. I opted for an Old Fashioned Breakfast Biscuit and Chai latte. The biscuit sandwich was substantial with a large piece sausage and large serving of eggs complemented by homemade blueberry preserves. As I side note, I am not to fund of blueberries, however, the blueberry preserves were the bomb diggity. I initially ordered a chai latte, but it was too chai laden, so I reordered the honey lavender latte. It was quite soothing to drink...enjoyed it very much. I was one of few people in the restaurant. It gave me time to collect my thoughts and mentally plan my day. I sat at the bar with another patron and ironically, we ordered the same item. Hissy Fit has ample indoor and limited outdoor seating. Another great experience at Hissy Fit.

This is definitely a hidden gem! The inside is clean and gives modern southern vibes. The staff is incredibly attentive and kind. The manager went out of their way to check in on us and show my friend tea options. Went for brunch and got the breakfast bowl with sausage, biscuit, and honey lavender latte. All tasted freshly made and so flavorful. The biscuit with the whipped butter and lemon blueberry preserves was beyond amazing! Can't wait to return for dinner!

No reservation needed, as you walk up to the counter to order and then you are seated. Tip: review the menu before you get to the counter so that way ordering is smoother and quicker. They have $10 burger Fridays so I gave it a try. The burger was good but I did not like the taste of the pickles. The fries were delicious, The brussel sprouts were yummy, The deviled eggs were really good and the star of the show was the house made lemonade. I cannot wait to go back for the breakfast menu and try those homemade biscuits. They look delicious.

Grabbed breakfast here a couple weeks ago. The dining room and bar are nicer than I expected and service is excellent. The breakfast burrito is packed with eggs and other goodies and quite tasty. Love to try out the rest of their menu. Recommended.

Biscuits & Sticky Banana Date Cake

If you've been to Fixe Southern House, then you already know how incredible their biscuits are and their sister restaurant, Hissy Fit absolutely delivers the same delicious biscuits with all the fixins and so much more! The vibe is a bit more casual here, with easy parking and counter service for both food and drinks before you grab a seat. The menu is divided between breakfast and lunch, and since we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon we did a little of both! Of course we had to start with an order of biscuits, and we also tried a few sandwiches both the Cajun Po'boy and the Cubano were fantastic. Everything was packed with flavor and paired perfectly with our cocktails the Frozen Hurricane and the Delta Blues. And I can't forget the Sticky Banana Date Cake as it was rich, gooey, and honestly pushed me over the edge in the best way possible. They also offer a full coffee menu along with salads and grain bowls for those looking for lighter options. But honestly, do yourself a favor and come here on a day when you're not counting calories as it's absolutely worth it!

Dropped in for a weeknight happy hour/dinner with some friends and was surprised at how casual this spot is. Don't let that fool you, though - they cook up some good comfort food! You order at the counter and then seat yourself anywhere and they'll bring out waters and your food and drinks. The only downside to this laidback service style is you have to flag someone down to get you water refills (there's no self-serve station) or if you need anything. The menu offers breakfast all day along with the regular lunch/dinner options. I really enjoy that you have both options! Overall everything we ordered was pretty tasty and I look forward to revisiting. The biscuits, cinnamon roll, and po boy are their popular items. Well worth trying! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, plenty of parking! - Reservations? No, just walk in! - Happy hour? Yes, weekdays from 2-6pm - $10 apps, cocktails, and glasses of wine! FOOD & DRINK RATINGS: - Strawberry rhubarb matcha (4/5): They must have forgotten the strawberry rhubarb because I didn't taste anything other than matcha, but it was really good matcha! - Fried green tomatoes (5/5): This was delicious! I looove the pimiento cheese with it. So good! - Crawfish mac and cheese (4/5): Pretty solid, has a nice little kick to it. Sauce was good. - Bean and cheese biscuit empanada (3/5): My least favorite thing but it wasn't bad. Just not for me. - Shrimp po boy (4/5): Pretty tasty! They source their bread from Louisiana. Shrimp were giant and well-fried. - Buttermilk biscuits (5/5): Delish!!! Flaky, buttery, warm, and so good. Classic and perfect.

Hissy Fit has a welcoming vibe, with large front windows and a fresh, modern-meets-stylish aesthetic that seamlessly blends different design elements. The restaurant was playing lively, upbeat jazz music, adding to the inviting atmosphere. I love that upon entering, there are menus available for you to pick up and browse before heading to the hostess stand to order. While you place your order upfront, there's plenty of seating, and they bring your food to your table. I ordered a biscuit and an espresso macchiato to go. The coffee came out quickly--strong and hot, exactly what I was hoping for. All biscuits are fresh and made to order which is unique and great to see! Now let's get into the biscuit -From my first bite, my eyes rolled to the back of my head. This is what i'm looking for when i say I want a fresh, made to order biscuit - it had the perfect level of crispy outer and soft inner with a delicious taste. It also comes with butter, honey, and fruit preserves on the side. The butter was whipped and had a flavor and i loved it. I personally enjoyed combining the butter and honey on my biscuit as i ate. And I must say the staff and service were friendly. I recommend giving Hissy Fit a visit.

The best brussel sprouts. They had a little kick to them.

It's such a cool place. There's something on the menu for everyone. You order at the register and the food is delivered. The staffer helped me decide on the fish sandwich and I loved it. Their various wallpaper throughout the restaurant are so cute and trendy. They have lots of parking and seating. It is a little pricy.

Latte on the L, cappuccino on the R, both quite good made with local Texas coffee

Just a stop for morning cappuccinos and a small bite. The HOST was most friendly and explained how it works @ Hissy Fit. Normally you walk in, order at the counter, sit down and your food is brought to your table~ We did order our coffees at the counter however took the menus and ordered from our table~ HF is known for their biscuits & cinnamon rolls so that's what we ordered, the cinnamon roll served HOT with possibly the most delicious vanilla tasting icing ever!!! It wasn't huge (thank goodness!) and the underneath was like crispy, not burnt and frequently cinnamon rolls can be doughy this was NOT! Just so good and alas I couldn't finish it My husband had the biscuit served hot, with Jam, honey & spun butter he Thoroughly enjoy it~ The menu leans Cajun so we will return for lunch to experience plus Mary, the host informed us they are expanding their dinner menu soon so that all sounded wonderful ~ HF also features a full bar which will be G8 for lunch & dinner meals, Cheers

Standard egg sandwich!
Theresa C.

It was a little off putting that we had to order at the front when we first walked in....but that soon subsided because this is a bright friendly atmosphere! The menu is a little inventive and the servers were on point! The portions are LARGE! I wasn't expecting that.....I could only eat a 1/4 of my pancakes! The pancakes are "brown butter pancakes" which I enjoyed, however just a little salt in the batter would have really made my Cakes smash...but still good nonetheless! My hubby got the standard egg sandwich and he said it was the best egg sandwich he has ever had! All in all it was a great experience and we will be back! Enjoy! PS we also go the buttermilk biscuits and they were excellent!

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.
