Inside the store a variety of toys and collectibles, children's apparel and accessories, lined the walls and filled the center displays. I'd say about forty percent of the store consists of young children's accessories, apparel and developmental toys. The rest of the store is focused on toys that could be children's toys though also considered collectibles for most adults. These include Sonny Angel, smiski, Miffy, Calico Critters, Totoro, Hello Kitty, Snoopy and Woodstock, and Monchichi, in plush, keychain, miniature and regular size forms. I appreciated their assortment of nostalgic 80-90s mini toys, like plastic dinosaurs, bouncy balls with glitter, knick knacks you might find in an 80s kids birthday party goodie bag. The staff seemed attentive when I walked in, one person on the floor, straightening merchandise, saying welcome to people as they walked in, also asking if anyone needed help, another staff member behind the counter in the back. *These mini baby dolls wearing nothing but different hats and head gear (not the orthodontic kind, more like cute animal ears or flowers on their heads) have been blowing up and seems like so many gen-Zers are collecting them.

The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop.

I've looked for shops like Pink Olive when I relocated to Los Angeles but it is yet to be for the West Coast. Well, it was just ADORABLE to see all the fun gift items, bought some gifts for my friend who was traveling to Europe. Because of the anniversary, shopping was double fun while munching in some GF treats! OK so prices are on the mid to high range, but you wouldn't find most of these items outside of Pink Olive. They are specially curated by the owner, Grace Kang who has a proven track record for being a buyer for major department and boutique stores. It's whimsical and unique, I feel happy being there and that day was no exception. Definitely want to check out the new location in Little Rock, Arkansas and hoping someday Pink Olive will finally make it out to LA!!

So when I needed a few special baby gifts I was so happy to see the store was still open and Susan was still running things. It was a beautiful store back then and is just as lovely now. Absolutely beautiful clothing, everything displayed perfectly with a great selection. Susan knew just what I was looking for and made my purchases so easy. The utter disgust on their faces and level of entitlement is unlike anything I've ever seen. Also to add that this store refuses to answer the phone because they are "so busy", but no matter which location you're in, the only time they are busy is during a toy drop, there is no reason to not answer the phone at other stages. Grand Central store today was supposed to have a needoh drop at 3pm. Customers were lined up, no notice was put on their Instagram page, which they swear by to have the latest information (because they don't answer the phone or emails) and the store closed! Before responding to any of these customers, with what was written on their Instagram page, they post an "event" which you then have to grab tickets to be able to buy needohs tomorrow at their Grand Central location. The fact that this was posted first, before issuing an apology to customers that traveled there today and allowing these people first access to tomorrow, they did not have a care for their customers. Extremely disappointing
