On my last visit to NYC, I stopped by the East Village location for their 15th Anniversary Celebration and it was super nostalgic since I remembered when they first opened! . I've looked for shops like Pink Olive when I relocated to Los Angeles but it is yet to be for the West Coast. Well, it was just ADORABLE to see all the fun gift items, bought some gifts for my friend who was traveling to Europe. Because of the anniversary, shopping was double fun while munching in some GF treats! OK so prices are on the mid to high range, but you wouldn't find most of these items outside of Pink Olive. They are specially curated by the owner, Grace Kang who has a proven track record for being a buyer for major department and boutique stores. It's whimsical and unique, I feel happy being there and that day was no exception. Definitely want to check out the new location in Little Rock, Arkansas and hoping someday Pink Olive will finally make it out to LA!! read more

Live in the neighborhood, thought the concept of this little shop was adorable. Will not go back. * have gone on more than one occasion where the store is closed (indefinitely?) for "small break" *company policy: does not take cash...? -Umm, ok... I'll Venmo you later? What?? *sorry, does not take large bills. - I bought a birthday card, playing cards and a match book (which, I literally didn't realize that it was that until this moment// thought it was a mystical suggestion packet of adventure// nope, just matches). total price : $50 dollars -How would they prefer for me to pay; in quarters? *customer service: I don't know, fine? Indifferent? It's already a niche situation, meaning the product makes sense on Birthdays and housewarmings. Let's present the pricing and "actual" product clearly. read more

Shame on them. I took a cab to visit this location today and after spending over $65 in 5 minutes I explained that I was diabetic and asked if I could use their bathroom. They said their bathroom was not for public use. I explained I have unique circumstances and begged them and Melissa showed no compassion for my circumstances. It is obvious that this is a business only interested in profit and have no cares for their customers. I will never return and shame on them. read more

Pink Olive is a cute little shop for baby presents, but not so cute you wanna barf. I had to buy gifts for a couple of friends who are preggers. I thought about buying them each a "Je t'aime NY" onesie ($32) but decided that wasn't clever enough. So I opted for the designer spoof onesies (witty riffs on couture labels): Hermèss and Pradada ($32). The sales staff wrapped my gifts in tissue paper and bagged them separately. However, I'd have thought for the prices they charge and the meticulously thought-out vibe of the place, the wrapping and shopping bags would be better. (Compared to the merch, they look rather cheap, so I may have to rewrap and rebag.) The store also carries styley baby threads that I covet in larger sizes for myself. Vintage home furnishings, nice-smelling soaps, and letter-pressed stationery round out the yuppie must-haves on offer in the shop. Despite some price inflations, I really like Pink Olive. It's the kind of store that gives me a smug satisfaction that I'm buying a clever gift--even if it's not meaningful or especially useful for the recipient. I know that's not what gifting is all about but, hey, self-absorbed bitches like me gotta have something to compensate for our empty wombs. read more

This review is for Mica, who went above and beyond in helping me! I was running late to a birthday party, and desperately needed a card and a gift bag. Mica enthusiastically saved the day! She helped me find what I needed, and as I was scribbling away in the card, she wrapped my present for me without prompting. Made a stressful weekend so much better and reminded me why I love our neighborhood stores so much. Thank you Mica! read more

I just love this store. I get sucked by some uncontrollable urge. It's a great shop to find quirky unique items for yourself or a gift. The service is always friendly, and I always look forward to returning. 4.6/5 read more

Not being a 'kid person' i'm always perplexed when i have to buy a baby gift. And being more of a 'me person' i'm always on the look out for things to buy ME! Pink Olive accomplishes both! I love to to come here to buy gifts for friends, familiy, peoples kids and i usually walk out with something cool and whimsical for me too. read more

I love stores like these. Intimate, yet curated with just the right amount of stuff you need for your home. Quality soy candles that won't give you a headache when lit, fun cards for special occasions, general knick-knacks that will make your home warmer than before you decided to shop at Pink Olive, etc... The staff are always friendly here too. Though it seems they stopped carrying the room diffusers I'd previously purchased here, they gave me good advice on where else I could pick one up. Small, thoughtful practices like these are what keep me coming back time and time again. read more

This place is awesome. Okay, so I work here, so it might be a little bit biased, BUT I guarantee you that you will find something for your mom, daughter, cousin, cousin's baby, dad, friend, friend's friend, friend's mom's friend's baby..... If you're confused about what to buy for your sister's baby that you haven't seen yet, come talk to Grace, the owner of Pink Olive Boutique. She's very easy to talk to, and knows a lot. She's not one of those forceful people that try to get you to buy stuff too, which is nice. While you're trying to find the perfect organic onesie for the baby, your eyes might wander to the jewelry section where you will find really unique stuff....like ACORN NECKLACES! No, really. We sell them. We also have peanut necklaces! What?! Peanut necklaces? Yes. And I bought one. And I wear it all the time. If you're one of those people who like to have unique items, this is the place to go to. There are so many things that are random but amazing at the same time. read more

One of the many reasons why I am sad to have left the East Village is being farther away from Pink Olive! Grace and the entire Pink Olive staff are absolutely lovely. This is the perfect store for ladies who love whimsical things, ranging from birthday cards to baby toys. The store also carries adorable prints such as the exclusive Jim Datz City poster series (as seen here: http://threepotatofourshop.com/item/Jim-Datz-City-Series---Manhattan-/2447). I bought the Manhattan and Brooklyn prints framed and the ladies spent 20 minutes wrapping them up in bubble wrap for me so that my poor-grad-student-self could carry it home 15 blocks instead of hopping into a cab. Whenever I walk into the store I feel like I've been whisked into a fairy-tale town where everyone knows my name and gives me $10 gift cards on my birthday. I highly recommend signing up for their loyalty program if you are a frequent customer, by the way. My next item of purchase: the 6 month floral subscription. Personalized monthly mason jar arrangements for my apartment? Yes, please! read more

So i was walking down the street thinking about what to get for my friend who just had a baby. And low and behold i find the cutest, boutique on beautiful tree lined 9th St between 1st ave and Ave A. I was greeted by the very sweet owner Grace, who handed me a ice cream cone. Only this wasn't just any ice cream cone, off came the pink ice cream lid and low and behold she started to blow bubbles. The bubbles instantly threw me back to when i was a kid, only this time they were big, bouncy, and smelled like vanilla. Not the sticky cheap kind that you used to get all over your hands, and couldn't really blow any real bubbles. Well i did end up finding the perfect little T shirt for my friends infant. But i have to admit that i got the bubbles for my girlfriend. No lets be honest, i got the bubbles for myself. read more

Whenever I am feeling like being around a bunch of super cute and girly things, I make my way over to Pink Olive. I love this store so much, and always make sure to bring my guests here when they visit! They have a really sweet section of baby items that are great for gifts, lots of unique cards, beautiful books, and a bunch of little knick-knacks that you will just have to have. They also sometimes host small events where they have store specials, and dessert and drink samples from local vendors The prices are not cheap, but I often make purchases anyway to support such a cute small business. It helps that they have a loyalty program for greeting card purchases. read more

This store is wildly overpriced. Beaded bracelets on an elastic wire are sold for almost $30. I could buy that for $3 from a little kid and their beading kit. They do not take returns!!! Careful. I tried to return two candles 5 minutes after leaving the store, and the owner got impatient with us and refused to exchange. Left the store feeling manipulated and embarrassed. Would not recommend. Spend your money elsewhere. Additionally, what kind of store doesn't take cash?? It is clear that they cater to a *specific* demographic. Disgusting. Some people do not have credit or debit cards for good reason. Does that mean they are not worthy of shopping at your pretentious store? read more

I love this location of Pink Olive. Their selection of cards and gifts along with baby clothes and gifts are incredible. The staff at this location is always top notch and they wrap things up for you in beautiful tissue paper. Would absolutely recommend it in the neighborhood and looking for a beautiful card or nice gift. read more

This store is adorable! And don't be deterred by thinking it's a kid/baby store - it's the best place to get great cards, stationary and one of a kind gifts! The staff was extremely nice and genuinely excited about all their merchandise. I'll defintely go back now that I have my greeting card frequent buyer punch card! read more

I found Pink Olive when I was "volunteered" into baby-gift shopping for my coworker's first baby. My coworker and I stopped by Pink Olive to search out baby gifts. She did most of the work while I curiously wondered about picking out impractical gifts. The baby gifts were sweet as honey. The price range is open to interpretation, depending on what your spending cap for cost-effective baby items are. Compared to The Gap or Babys R Us or generic, corporate entities' terms, Pink Olive is expensive. However, they sell uniquely styled, very cute, items. Compared to other small, private shops like Sons and Daughters (a more rock-star, indie hipster cashmere organic baby sort of store with less bright colors, for the postmodernist, Guggenheim visiting modern art baby), Pink Olive is much more affordable. For me, as a single person who may only have time for a quick drink with friends in the LES after work and am not knowledgement about the needs of new parents, Pink Olive is extremely convenient, low-key, and much more unique for baby gift giving---which is crucial once you reach your late 20s-mid 30s and many friends are suddenly giving birth to their first babies so that every few weeks, you find a baby shower invite in your e-mail inbox. The staff is really knowledgeable and helpful. Pink Olive carries other things beyond items for babies. Cute cards. Random knick knacks for girls. Paris-themed tote bags. Prints in the $50-$100 range which feature storybook-like pictures for baby's room, but which can also double as cute little kitschy prints for a single gal's wall. The Pink Olive in Brooklyn is much bigger. The East village outpost has limited stock but is accessible for Manhattanites. read more

Stopped in for the stationary, but I was delighted to find an adorable selection of gifts for little ones. There were a variety of options starting at reasonable price points. I found the perfect item to congratulate a pal who had just announced her pregnancy! There are a lot of great little eateries in the area, so I look forward to stopping back in next time I'm in the neighborhood! read more

This is such a cute little shop! There should be more in existence. The minute you walk into the store, you are welcomed by the owner, the lovely scents, and a wide array of intricate local arts/knick knacks/handmade designs of stationary/light household accessories. Honestly if you've never been here, you should drop by for a visit. The whole store puts you in such a good mood and everything you touch, you feel like you're being transformed into the person that designed/handmade the item. Prices are quite reasonable for the types of rare and unique items this shop carries. Owner says most of the items are local - another plus! I love love love Pink Olive. read more

This is my favorite boutique in New York. They have a darling card selection, unique stationery, things every girl should have on her dresser or in her office and the most charming baby gifts. The place is tiny, but filled with the most wonderful things! I'm still in college and had never purchased "art" before in my life, until I found two darling prints in this store that I just had to have! It is easy for the bill to add up quickly in this tiny shop, but the quality and individuality are worth it. They also offer gorgeous gift-wrapping that I have yet to take advantage of. I love their Valentines this time of year, and there are also a few necklaces towards the back I have been eyeing. Ultra cute! I just love this place. read more

I want my friends to have babies so I can buy them adorable gifts from this store. I like their stuff for grown-ups, too, like the art & jewelry. I only wish it were a bit less expensive. But 4 stars because the people who work there are so nice & create good playlists & laugh along when you read the "How to Get Married" picture book out loud to your friends. read more

This is a very cute place, where you can find lots of things not only for a baby, but for yourself as well. Some jewelry, decor stuff - all you need is time, because for instance my friend and I really got stuck there. Everything is so cute and lovely, especially stuffed toys! And the shop assistant was very helpful. I would like to return to that place. read more

This place had cute baby stuff. I was brousing around the shop when I ran across this soft lamb stuffed doll. I just couldn't put it down and was carrying it all over the shop. Finally, my friend suggested I just buy it for myself even though I should have bought one for my nephews. Oh well, at least I'm happy. read more

If I could own a shop, it would look like Pink Olive. Love the unique, adorable baby items they carry. From books to notecards to clothes- it reminds me of an Anthropologie for little ones. This is a must-visit every time I go to NY. I prefer this location vs. their Brooklyn store, as they seemed to have a wider selection the last time I was here. read more

Inevitably people (not living in New York City) have babies in their 20s. When this happens, I know where to go for a gift. Cutesy original baby clothes and great cards to boot. Other gifts: small pieces of jewelry, recipe boxes, engagement gifts, gift wrap, candles, etc read more

Pink Olive was my go-to place for baby gifts back when I lived in the East Village, and whenever I come back to visit I try to stop by and pick up something for friends or my toddler daughter. Quite the selection of unique, non-cheesy stationary as well as vintage style jewelry, baby toys (crafted out of wood or organic materials - not plastic), and various other surprises. I think the prices are right in line with the quality of the products. I Love buying the sock monkeys made by local artists to benefit the disabled. Like everything else in the store they are well-made and lovely. This is the place to go for hostess gifts, baby gifts, and a treat for yourself. I love the staff at this location- Grace the owner and then this redhead with an accent. They always know exactly what is in the back and will go get it for you if it's not on display yet. Ordering online can take a long time to process, but I think that's to be expected of local boutique shops. read more

I had a wonderful experience at the Pink Olive. I wanted to buy some art for my art wall and walk away with an adorable print! The sales associate, Brittany was super friendly and nice and wrapped up my print in wrapping paper I'm going to recycle into some new art! Such an adorable curation of stationary and cards and oh my the candles! I bought the tomato leaf one which is super verdant. I felt like I was special customer. Excellent little shop! read more
