I've been here a few times and I have always walked away with a purchase. Firstly I appreciate that this store is stroller friendly. They make me comfortable coming in and out and not feeling like a burden. Second they really do have great customer service. They aren't pushing for a sale. They make sure they provide what you need and is ok if you don't like what they suggest. Prices vary but they have a selection of everything which is nice to see. read more

This is a small shop but full of lots of great baby and kid finds. The husband and I made it a point to stop by Smoochie Baby while we were exploring Williamsburg during our babymoon, based on its great reviews. The first item on our wish list: a hat for our 1-year-old nephew. The clerk quickly showed us to a display of winter hats, and we found a great knit hat for roughly $30 that will hopefully stretch a bit as our nephew grows. And since we have a baby on the way, we couldn't resist looking for something fun for our babe too. Smoochie Baby carries everything from baby and infant clothes and shoes and accessories to books to nursery decor to toys. (I particularly remember that Smoochie Baby carries shoes because in perhaps an example of Brooklyn extraness, the customers who came in after us asked the clerk if they stock any vegan baby shoes.) We ended up going with a soft, plush dragon -- our future son's first stuffed animal. It seems well made and didn't break the bank at about $35. And it makes me smile every time I look at it. Smoochie Baby also offers gift wrapping. Whether you're buying for your own kids or others, this is a great place to stop. read more

With more time I might have found more to favor in this children's boutique. We went after Preschool for a new winter cap. Another immediate need was mittens, flexible enough for everyday play, with strings that would hook to his coat. A cap that matched his jacket and shoes was cute, warm, well made and large enough to allow growing room. The mittens were a different experience. The employee brought out about 5 - 6 pairs of mittens with strings. Although there were two employees and I was the only shopper in the store, neither offered to help fit and determine if the mittens met our specific needs. The comment was made "That is all we have with strings." Since the store doesn't offer refunds, only store credits, we decided to purchase the cap and look elsewhere for mittens. A little more customer care might have changed that decision. The store offers a very cute Yelp check-in offer: A hug or a high-five. The employees weren't aware of the offer but immediately complied. Located in a very "hard to find street parking" area of Williamsburg, the store is one street off Bedford, allowing a parking search down commercial side streets that will eventually meet success. Would I return? Probably not. There are so many other children's stores with better customer service, larger inventory, and easier street parking. And some of the merchandise seemed overpriced compared to similar quality at other stores. But we were pleased with the quality and price of our purchase. And we left to a smiling high-five. read more

I don't normally review places but I feel the need to review this store. The lady who was working yesterday on Sat Oct 12th, was so incredibly kind and helpful!! It was about 9:30am, cold & windy - and I walked up as she was pulling the gate up outside. I asked what time they opened & she said "10am" then looked at me & said "but I can go ahead and open up early if you want to come inside." I definitely needed to go inside and buy something because my son, who will be 2 on the 27th, had just thrown up all over the car & himself. I had to put him in the stroller with no pants on, only a blanket to cover him. The entire time i was in there she helped me find something that would fit him & kept offering more sizes in the back. She started blowing up balloons & gave my son a balloon because he was starting to get restless in the stroller. Not only was her service so helpful, but literally every single thing in the store was so incredibly CUTE! I don't know how the owner does it if they have children - I would want to keep every thing in the store!!!!! So adorable and such great quality. I will definitely be coming back for more clothes for my son! read more

They sell babies and baby accessories. Wait, sorry, no. Apparently they only sell things FOR babies, not actual babies. Oh well, I wasn't in the market anyway. My friend had a baby like a year ago and I was finally meeting her at her birthday party. I don't know this baby and what she's into, so the staff helpfully suggested things that babies like. I went with a Brooklyn themed counting book (spoiler alert: there are 9 hot dogs). And of course a baby on the go needs a hot bag to carry her counting book in, so also got a cuuuute little panda purse. They have a ton of clothes and wooden/classic toys as well. I'll definitely be back next time I have a hot baby party to attend. read more

The clothes in Smoochie Baby are seriously cute, but seriously expensive for things that will only get a few uses before getting outgrown. Kind of a given when you're a specialty boutique in this hip area though, so that's not even my gripe. I was pretty turned off when I walked into the store clearly needing help, and there were 2 female associates helping out one customer, but instead of one of them addressing me, they ignored me a solid 5 minutes while I hovered awkwardly near where they stood. I mean, you're an overpriced children's boutique located on an obscure street away from most of the foot traffic - at least say hello when a potential customer stumbles into your store. read more

Cute products and charming space, but the selection is pretty small and expensive. I've found that in about half of the Brooklyn baby boutiques. The others are crammed to the gills and a little intimidating for their yard sale feel, but not necessarily any cheaper for that--Area Kids in Park Slope, I'm looking at you. There's a sling there that I want but I still haven't been able to convince myself to shell out $99 for a sling (as opposed to a carrier). It *would* be my dress sling if I got it, but how often will I use a formal ring sling? Hmmmmm.... They do carry "M is for Metal" (haven't bought yet) and "Never Mind Your P's & Q's, It's the Punk Alphabet" (got it!), which is pretty damned awesome. read more

This little boutique is amazing! Yes the items are pricey but the quality is great! I have clothes that my son wore as a baby, he's 3 now and we handed it down to a friend and the clothes look new still! I also got some rubbers sole black shoes, which I kept since they stayed in a good condition so my daughter will be wearing them! I love the unique pieces this place carries and yes again it's a bit on the high price side but if you're not comfortable you can always check out the thrift stores in the area for lower prices! Am definitely looking forward to going back to get my daughter some cute fall clothing! read more

I was riding my bike and got caught in a sudden storm and sought some shelter. Smoochie, baby! The two ladies there welcomed me in and allowed me to look around. Next time I visit my nephew and niece, I'm buying something from here! There's an assortment of Fisher-Price items from my youth reissued for nostalgic reasons (like a record player and a phone, both which are somewhat young for my nephews), for example. And rock concert T-shirts for kids up to 6 years old. And "Goodbye Keith Moon"? I knew the original, but not this! But fear not, gentle reader, as there are plenty of other, more normal items that still peg the cute/funky meter without being kitschy, including educational toys. What's not to like? read more

One of the best children's stores I have been too (and I have been to a lot) the brands they have are some of my favorites mostly due to style and quality . You couldn't find better service if you tried and this exactly what you want to experience when you shop a boutique and support local. Owner here is absurd. Was sold a matching set that was two different sizes and since it was past the "exchange date" wouldn't let me exchange it for anything. No one likes to be stuck with a baby outfit no one can use and a wasted gift. They should learn to provide a little leeway for the sake of earning customer loyalty read more

This is a store I keep coming back to even though I don't live in Williamsburg. They have a good amount of hip clothing & other items but best of all are the people that work there. They are top shelf. I always defer to the staff who are extremely helpful & kind which is hard to find these days in any store. Emily especially comes to mind. This boutique is fantastic. The store is well designed and beautifully laid out. It also offers unique, thoughtfully curated clothing and toys for kids. The clothing has style and is well made, while the toys really engage children and encourage creativity. Additionally, I worked with a woman named Safiya who was lovely. She listened to what I was looking for, pointed me in the right direction, and then gave me space and room to browse. She was an absolute gem and made the whole experience fun. It's refreshing to work with someone who is genuinely cool and truly interested in helping out a customer. Finally, she put together a great looking package I could present as a gift. Wonderful experience and amazing selection! Our son was given a gorgeous Appaman jacket but was unfortunately the wrong sizing. I called and spoke to Emily who was so apologetic and understanding but it was not returnable because it was past the 30 days refund policy. 5 minutes later she called me back (first of all, that is SO COOL of her) and said she would waive it and exchange it for a bigger size, understanding that new moms have so much to do - I just didn't read the fine print and it's ok she gets it :) I used to love passing this store when I lived in Williamsburg and I am so thrilled with the service so far just over the phone! Went there to buy a baby shower gift for my sister's first baby. What an exciting experience! I came just for newborn things but ended up buying rock and roll shirts in larger sizes because they were so cool. Picked up a little pair of slipper/shoes with cute bears on them. My husband is in BIG trouble. This is my new go-to place for fun, unique clothes for my son. He is that funny age/size between baby and toddler, and I had no problem finding way a bunch of great clothing and accessories for him. They carry brands I like-Joah Love, Prefresh, Nununu etc, but I found the selection to be amazing-many of the pieces are items I have been unable to find elsewhere. The service also sets them apart. I come from a long history of high end retail experience, and appreciate that Emily went above and beyond to help me find everything I wanted. She kept her word and let me know when she received additional sizes of a hat I was interested in. I look forward to coming back! read more

This store and the staff are absolutely incredible people. Emily is my favorite. Always accommodates me , my kids and the giant stroller I come with. I LOVE the vibe. I always get a hello and a smile when I walk through the door. I feel at home. Something I have not found in most baby stores in the neighborhood.. The selection of merchandise is awesome! I consider myself a shopper. I have two kids and this is my first stop to find cool clothes, gifts, toys and exceptional service.
